If you live anywhere in the Bay Area and you enjoy TCG's, you have got to check this place out especially Yu-Gi-Oh! I'm usually pretty skeptical on buying unsealed products from older packs. But I picked up a Ghost From the Past, and a Ghost From the Past 2 from this shop. Both of them had a ghost rares! Not even Yami Yugi has luck like that! Everything is very well and competitively priced, compared to other card shops. The cashier helping me out, wasn't eyeballing me where ever I went, like I was going to steal something. But he did follow me helping me out with singles, a sealed items I was looking for. Overall A+ store, and a store with higher end yugioh singles... can't find a place like that. read more

Was going to leave 3/5 stars but after seeing 6+ other reviews mention similar customer service issues, this is clearly an opportunity for the business. My boyfriend and I came in to check out board games (decent selection), but the store was nearly empty, and we still got no greeting or offer to help. The employee showed zero interest--when I asked about the games, he said, "Oh, I don't know anything about these," and didn't ask what we were looking for or offer any suggestions. Worse, someone was having a loud, aggressive conversation with that same employee about "knocking someone's teeth in"--completely inappropriate for a store environment. The fact that it was tolerated made the space feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. This place has potential, but the staff needs serious customer service training if they want to create a more inviting atmosphere, especially for newcomers. read more

I took a girlfriend of mine here to find a board game mid afternoon on like a Tuesday or Wednesday mid-march 2025. We walking to the store and there are three teenage ish kids some middle-aged white dude and the clerk. We got no greeting we got no help we got no interest to be honest. The middle-aged dude was talking to the clerk about knocking some dudes teeth in and just weirdly aggressive stuff about some guy that he apparently doesn't like but to be 100% honest the conversation was inappropriate to have in a customer setting. When I went in, no one working there. There were only 2 guys playing magic in the store when I walked in. Waited at the counter for 10 mins waiting for a worker to come out from the back or something to help me. Asked the two magic players if they know if someone was available to help me. One got up and asked what I needed help with. They were the workers. No greeting when i walked in, no asking me if i needed help or had questions. Customer service needs to be worked on more. My first visit, the manager was there or an employee. He was blaring music and seemed annoyed when we came in. Turned it down and just silently followed us around the store to see what we needed so we could pay and leave. Didn't really make conversation or seem friendly, just annoyed. Our second visit the owner was working, he ignored me for the most part but gladly was helping others, finally when I was getting super frustrated he helped me. My mood already ruined by this point. I am really on the fence about this place. Sometime's overpriced but overall stock is phenomenal. How the pricing fluctuates so easily is kinda weird also, you would hope they could sell us product at MSRP but it doesn't seems likely with high demand product. Tournaments are regular but YuGiOh seems to be the priority. Some love for other games would be appreciated. Overall a decent store. Would recommend to go play events or grab some last minute product you need. read more

Nice shop, went on a trip to Modesto to visit at local LGS spots. Place had a good balance between play area and retail floor. There's a huge spot for sorting where I saw 3 employees sorting a vast assortment of cards. I was greeted as soon as i walked in ans assisted right away. I mainly went for Magic: the Gathering product. Unlike the first 2 spots prior, I called and asked if they stocked mtg and if they were open. Person on phone honest and said they had a small binder with very little selection. Bought a few boosters as they had a decent selection. Their singles mainly consisted of foils from Modern Horizon (2), didnt ask the price on singles. If I lived locally, I'd support this LGS. read more

All I have to say is WOW. This shop is incredible. I recently got back into Yugioh, and stopped by this shop on a road trip to LA. As soon as my group and I walked in, the staff happily greeted us. They were super helpful and made great recommendations as a returning player. They asked what kind of deck I was looking to build and were more than happy to discuss new cards and recommend which packs/individual cards to start with. If I lived closer, I would absolutely be a regular, but this shop has a lot of heart (of the cards). I will definitely stop by every time I'm in the area though. I felt simply unlucky going here a few days ago. My buddies and I ventured nearly 2 hours up here because we like trading cards and are fans of the YouTube. When we went in they are so focused on online sales the employees were spending every second ignoring us and organizing cards. They really only focus on selling sealed to customers. Their cases had some cards but nothing really all that relevant and had a lot of commons. We asked if we could look through boxes and were told no they don't do that because it'll mess up their inventory but we could ask for cards. My buddy asked to see a starter deck and the guy said, "it's $50 are you sure" and when he meant the structure deck to the side he said "it's $200, can you afford it?". That was some nerve. I asked for a card and he said he'd look. He went to a building next door and it took a long time before he came back which is odd because it's organized by set and name. Definitely won't be coming back. Simply Unlucky alright. read more

I've never been this shocked at a company before... They have door-signs that say they close at eight, a website that says they close at seven, when in actuality they close at six. Drove out an hour thirty minutes to find them closed, called them several times for the next two days, received no answers/hung up on. I finally get to them and ask when they close, they say 6, so I drive out to purchase what I intended. I got scammed, and I knew it as soon as I opened my product. Anyone who knows Yu-Gi-Oh knows that pack weighing is an immense issue. I bought a "Toon Chaos" BOX, for $125, and didn't get a SINGLE toon card. On top of that once I opened it I immediately saw the protective seal had been removed entirely. The packs inside were stiff, and sticky with glue on their backside. I got almost entirely duplicates, and not a single collectors rare in a set that contains I believe seventeen. I'm aware odds of rare cards aren't guaranteed, but having my packs opened, tampered with, and glued back shut isn't an accident. Neither is the removal of the protective seal. If you divert your attention to their YouTube channel, they pull at least one rare card in every opening they do...Why is that? They rig it by keeping the rares for themselves and selling you the garbage they don't want. Beware of these fraudulent fiends... read more

This is strictly for their TCGPlayer.com practices since my feedback was refuted on the website. I bought a few items from their vendor site and it stated there was over 50 available. They are only about an hour a half drive away so I was thinking my items would arrive quick, but nope. They stated that they did not have any of the items in stock and waiting for their distributor to send them the items. I asked when was the ETA as this was May 25th/26th and they said once the Build and Battle Stadiums arrive which would be a week from that date. Fast forward to that date, I get no response or a shipping notification. I even noticed local stores that are not even TCG related having the items in stock already. I message them after a few more days and they said they still did not have them in stock. It has been over 20 days since I placed the order and nothing. I just cancelled my order and I guess canceling the order negates them getting the correct feedback from this order. I wouldn't honestly buy from them again and they have definitely lost a subscriber to their Youtube Channel and social media outlets. I wish the outcome would have been different, but I guess I was just "Simply Unlucky." read more

You took presales on brilliant stars and then held the boxes to SELL at a higher price in your own store by telling your distributor you needed them for presales which you took on TCGPlayer. You then ignored the people who had presales weeks in advance from you asking where their order was. You LIED about it being delayed, and instead are selling the boxes IN your store. You then after getting numerous mails from people on TCGPlayer asking where their boxes are and why they haven't been notified, lied and stated your shipment was delayed and will come with WAVE 2. This is all so you can sell the boxes even higher then what those who prepaid for them paid. Absolutely disgusting practice. read more

I have tried to support SU but their service is terrible. I have run into issues with their store and eBay store. From the first purchase I made from the store website, I was NOT even contacted about the cards and packs missing out of stock therefore my order was never shipped until I reached out to them personally. Even when you called them they were not even presentable, they just told me hello as if I called some cellphone. I was then told by it will be shipped out no later than Monday, that did not happen. During that call, I requested to speak with Roman on this matter (Simply Unlucky himself) that was too good to handle things around his shop or even speak to customers by request so it seemed, just to notify him so it would never go down again for any customer. Then I had to call again finally it was going to be sent out but the staff which could not make an effort to even notify me beforehand, with much delay and the run around drama they double my order, thanks. eBay was another mystery I had purchased a single card I really needed, no big deal to them with it being lost and blamed USPS for losing my card, through the message they just assisted to contact USPS as if I were lying about it all when they could easily look at the tracking was really stuck in some transition from shipping. I was pissed and had to fight calling SU game shop to send me a replacement of my card has been lost. In this case that a customer should never have to deal with and experience with their local USPS on my other orders already. I have tried to support this small shop but the experience I dealt with was just too much therefore I rather prefer TCG, Troll&toad, or some other card place because SU is a joke and totally lost interest in Roman's YouTube channel again that guy is too proud to even speak with customers by the impression I was given. read more
