Will never go there again. I made an early morning appointment to get in and get out asap. I was given a 8:30 appointment time. I was on time and waited. A woman came in 15 minutes after me and she was immediately called back. That was disturbing. When I was finally called back I complained to the woman who took me back as to why that woman was called back prior? I told her why I needed an early morning appointment to get out asap. She said the woman only needed a simple thing and then proceeded to ask me if I needed to reschedule, like I was bothering her. I realized this was the same woman who helped me a couple months back when I went in for a new pair of glasses. I had lost my glasses and explained to her I wanted to get a cheap pair to get me thru the next couple if months until my insurance kicked in again. She quoted me $400.00 for the glasses in which I told her I was going elsewhere. That left a very bad taste in my mouth. I am making a complaint because I feel that some doctors don't realize how their staff is treating their patients. I ran across this same behavior at one of my other medical doctors who did not realize their staff was being really rude. When he finally found out he replaced his front office staff with very kind and helpful staff. Doctor Simpson or Mann, you have the wrong staff there dealing with your patience. My next stop is Cosco where I got my replacement glass for $59.00 until my insurance kicked in again which is now January. There are so many other choices we have for optometry care. I don't understand the negative reviews on the receptionist. She did her job no?? She's not the one who needs your health issues. With that being said I did over heat her talking about New York. People from New York are a different breed. However She was nice and professional. The doctor is funny and has stories for days. They have a nice selection of spectacles. No complaints from me at all. Also I did notice a bunch of children friendly sticker throughout the building. If I had children I would bring them here too. read more

I've been a patient here for a decade. Two years ago I switched from VSP to MES, wHich was a bit of a hassel but I figured it was a one time thing to sort things out. I'm at my yearly check up (right now) and as walk in, I'm asked my name and if I have an appointment. So I tell the receptionist yes and my name. A few minutes later she asks me if this is my first visit and I say no, and she says "Because you don't have a chart." Umm... not my problem, right? So a few more minutes pass and the receptionist asks me if my last visit was more than 5 years ago, and I say "No, I was here a year ago." She asks me to fill out a new chart, which I did, then she tells me she doesn't have authorization from my insurance to allow my appointment to proceed. Ohhhh kaaaay... so I call my insurance, and they say "Cods wallop, we sent the authorization 2 days ago" (I paraphrased). Receptionist say she doesn't have the authorization so I just hand over my phone and ask her to talk to the insurance rep bc I'm sick of being the middle person. She reluctantly takes it and asks questions and says some stuff and then hangs up. "So yeah, we have your authorization fRom your insurance but I don't physically have it, so let me find it first. I'm sure it's here some where." I ask why I can't proceed while she looks and she says "Well if I don't find it then we will bill you. Is that the risk you want to take?" Geez. I take a seat and now it's been 21 minutes. She asks me if I was supposed to have the appointment two days ago, which is no, then she asks why the authorization would be sent two days ago. Hell if I know! I say I don't remember when I made the appointment but that when I got their email reminder, I called and made my appointment. Then she said "but I have here that you called today" and I respond, "yes, I had time today so I called to see if I could get squeezed in so my appointment got moved up. " Drum roll please. . "OHHH, here it is! I have your chart and your insurance authorization right here. I wasn't the one to schedule your appointment, so sorry about that. Please have a seat." I am still just sitting here, waiting for an AUTHORIZED appointment that should have been over by now, all because of a lack of professionalism and communication among the front staff. By the by, I hear them talking and they've made several mistakes with other patients. They cancelled someone else's appointment instead of rescheduling mine, and a patient who came to pick up his lenses was told they weren't ready, then someone else told him they were and she found his lenses. The only saving grace here is Dr. Simpson himself. read more

First of all, the office is extremely difficult to get a hold of. I've been referred to the answering service 7 times over the past 3 hours and I'm only trying to get a prescription so I don't have to return to this office. Second, Dr. Simpson is great, but Dr. Mann is creepy. Maybe he's seen as funny by others, but not only did he think it appropriate to tell me he doesn't like women's skin covered in tattoos (I have a quarter sleeve that was visible at the appointment), but he also proceeded to tell me how while in San Francisco, he visited a XXX theater. Why on earth do I need to know that? Even if the point of the story was to tell me he was taken there by others. He also is way too touchy for an optometrist. If I can help it, I will not return. read more

We been coming here for years the whole family. But today I decided to change locations the doctors is really good. But unfortunately his receptionist in the front needs to get fired she has really bad attitude does not let you explain your problem and cuts you basically shut up and next. I believe her name is Daphne not to sure but she has curly hair and she has glasses. I tried to talk to the doctor and I even told her I don't mine wating she got upset and said no we almost leaving for lunch she has no manners she needs to look for a new job if she dosent like dealing with patients. But for sure I know I would not take my family anymore their and do not recommend for you to go especially if she still their. Really Bad service. read more

Do not waste your time coming here! Last year I had to go sack three times just to get my glasses fitted right. This year 2020 my wife had to get a refund cause she could on see out of one eye with The new glasses they prescribed. And I waited two months to finally get my new glasses had to make a appointment to get them fitted wait another two weeks go in there and she breaks them. And not a concerning the world comes back and says oh you have to take them back to the VA. She didn't even care like to say something like I am so sorry but this happened. So in conclusion the staff don't know what they're doing there do you have to go back three times just to get your glasses fitted one year and to walk in there with new glasses and they break them and don't care. I will not go back a third time to be disappointed we will be looking for a new eye doctor and so should everyone else do not go there you'll be wasting your time and money. read more

I found my perfect match thanks to Dr. Simpson!!!!! I picked up my contacts today and I'm so grateful for Dr. S and his staff for helping me through the whole process. Since the initial call I just had a feeling I would love it here. My fiancée had recently come in for a check up and recommended I start coming here since I was having issues at my previous optometrist office. To make a long story short they basically switched the brand of contacts I was using which was thicker than I was used to. Regardless, I gave it a try for a couple weeks but they were so uncomfortable and irritating to my eyes that I asked them if I could order a different brand. They said these were the ONLY brand they had so there was no other option. So when I called Dr. Simpson's office the receptionist was so kind and helpful and got me in asap. When I came in everyone was so welcoming and professional. Dr. S did my contact exam and I told him the issue I had with the contacts at my last office. He told me he had plenty of brands to choose from and would let me try as many as I needed to until I found the ones that were comfortable for my eyes. I was in disbelief that there were so many options !!!! I tried the daily lenses for 1 week but those were too thin, the 2nd week I tried the monthly's but those were too thick, and on the 3rd I tried the bi-weekly ones and those were just right ! I even had to come in for a couple emergencies and Dr.S and his staff were always willing to accommodate me into their schedule. I'm so grateful for Dr. S and I am happy I found a great office to take care of my eyes ! :D read more

Some of the most rude and disrespectful women working there the old white lady with the glasses asked me to sign in and before I signed in she asked me if I had an appointment in the rudest way possible so I answered no I just wanted to look at the frames. No sooner than I finished responding the other rude and disrespectful black lady in the front desk wearing the glasses with the curly hair (you know who you are) says to me excuse me I'm on the phone and gave me the dirtiest look ever! I couldn't believe the way I was being treated by these so called professionals. So I just said to them sorry I won't bother you ever again! In order for this Dr. to get to 5 stars he needs to get rid of his rude ass staff or give them proper training!! Never in my life has making an appoinment been so complicated with different people telling me they need different info everytime I called back. Get on the same page if you need both medical & IEHP #s in order to make an appoinment then say it since the beggining dont give the run around. After the 5th time of me calling back & that someone actually answered i was told that by a rude ass employee with a nasty attitude. I was referred to this office bad first impression good way of pushing away new patients. I honestly wouldnt bother with them and would go elsewhere, somewhere where they know the importance of good customer service and where they know how to do their job..HORRIBLE!!!! read more

Love this optometrist! I've coming here for the past 14 years since I was in high school, I was sent here in 2002 and always been treated ok for the most part by staff and dr Simpson and dr Mann. Yes, the staff could be rude sometimes but not a big deal, not to me at least. I just treat them the way they treat me! Sometimes it could take up to 2-3 weeks for you to get your glasses so I wish they could speed up the process. Like what am I supposed to do without my glasses?! But other than that I never have had any issues with them and I will recommend them! read more

Dr. Stuart Mann is a wonderful Optometrist! He has helped our whole family; and each of us has a different vision issue. Dr. Mann diagnosed our youngest son and has helped him succeed in school. He is a creative and thoughtful doctor and is willing and able to think outside the box to help solve issues. His staff is also outstanding and helpful. I've been coming here for several years now and have no complaints about the doctor's, but the staff needs customer service classes ASAP. My son and I recently had our annual exam, and I swear the older lady with the glasses and southern accent is the rudest person ever! She always has been, but I've finally had it with her and will likely be changing doctor's very soon. The doctor's are great, but they should really do something about their staff. read more

I have been going to them since I was five years old. They have been friendly from the start. And when I switched from a child patient to an adult they made the transition easy.
