Only unopened items in original package with receipt are returned. Told that if I try it out that I cannot return it by female owner (? not sure if is actually is). What is the point of a receipt then? Once you buy you cannot return it apparently. Interestingly - receipt states you can return within 30 days but the store has sign saying if its unopened you can return it. I say always go with the receipt. For example a item was priced on Black Friday for originally $59.99 and "SALE" price was $35. The real price of it found online is $39 (5 dollar sale).

They even give my dog a treat when we walk by! It's a small shop, and cramped inside, but that is central to its charm in my opinion, they're not trying to be anything they're not, and I've always received great information in response to the myriad questions I usually have when the time calls for a trip to the hardware store. My mother has been trusting in Hewer Home Hardware for many years. Upon arriving at the store we spoke to 3 different employees about heaters, their knowledge was politely negligible. It was up to us to read all of the boxes and try to figure it out for ourselves, the conclusion was that there was nothing appropriate in stock. It is annoying enough to be misled, but when you are elderly, with mobility issues, and have trusted a business for 30+ years it is extremely dissapointing.

The staff was very helpful. He found exactly what I needed. On top, he said if it doesn't fit, I am free to return it. Luckily everything worked out well. I was happy.
