Douglas Sims is not a healer; he's a hazard. I went in for a pinched nerve between my shoulder blades, but for reasons I still don't understand, he chose to aggressively adjust areas I never complained about: my neck, lower back, and hips. That should have been the first red flag. At the start of the session, he did something unusual; he rubbed CBD cream on my neck, which he hadn't done in previous visits. I now realize that likely masked the pain from what he did next. He adjusted my neck in a way that displaced a vertebra, which led to intense pain hours later. As if that weren't enough, he placed me on a shelf-like platform and repeatedly adjusted my hips, pressing down with force. I didn't realize it at the time, but I was straining to keep my posture aligned, causing tension throughout my body. When I finally relaxed, I noticed that my torso had twisted to the left unnaturally. Later that day, I took a warm bath and about five minutes in, the vertebra in my neck suddenly slipped back into place on its own. I instinctively twisted my knees to one direction, and my upper body and shoulder to the other; and my entire lower spine released with loud cracks, like twisted celery. It was alarming, but it confirmed something had been severely thrown out of alignment. The worst part is what happened last: he pressed the heel of his hand deep into my lower back and held it there for a sustained time. Since then, I've experienced ongoing shifting, discomfort, and instability in my lower vertebrae--issues I never had before that visit. It's clear to me that this wasn't just poor practice--it was reckless and unethical. He also pressured me to return monthly, which felt more about insurance billing than actual care. When I declined, it felt like the quality of his treatment changed--and not in a good way. I'm still dealing with the damage from that last session. Please, do yourself a favor and find a chiropractor who listens, respects your concerns, and operates with integrity. What happened to me should never happen to anyone else. read more

Been coming here for a year and a half and I really enjoy the chiropractic care I have been receiving. Dr. Sims is a delight to talk with and very knowledgeable. He is down to earth and that is a rarity these days with younger physicians, his staff are also really helpful and pleasant. Sims Chiropractic gave me my life back! I had such severe back pain for 7 months. I could barely do everyday things without almost ending up in tears. I spent so much money on a previous chiropractor that didn't even order an MRI to see what was the issue, all he did was massage the muscle and make me do exercises that were extremely painful and didn't work because he assumed it was the muscle when in fact it was my spine. After my first appointment Dr. Sims ordered an MRI and immediately discovered I had degenerative disc disease and was able to set me up for what was needed to get my back to where it needed to be. My scheduled visits were cut down to less because I was improving quicker than expected. I walked in the door with my pain level well above 10! The place itself is okay. However, their customer service is TERRIBLE. If you have an issue with your bill expect to be ignored by them. Also, be cautious of what services you receive outside of your insurance because they won't tell you. I was a customer for almost 2 years and will never be back. read more

Today I returned for my monthly adjustment. I was surprised to learn that Dr Sims would not be seeing me today. Dr Truong eliminated my concerns about this "new doctor." Although I prefer "my doctor", I would not hesitate to see Dr Truong, if the situation arises again. If you're looking for a chiropractor, you should try Dr. Sim's Chiropractic Center. Everyone is friendly, helpful & very professional. It's nice to walk into a doctor's office & be greeted w/a smile & occasional laughter. Most of the staff is fluent in Spanish as well. Wait times are minimal for scheduling appointments & office visits. Dr. Sims is very knowledgeable & treats you like he cares about your overall well-being & not like he just wants another patient in the door. For months I was having so much back pain, I was backing out of activities with family & friends, taking off work a lot & taking pain pills several times a day. The orthopedic would give me more pain pills & put me on bed rest for several days until the pain subsided some but it just wouldn't go away. After a few visits to Dr. Sims, I'm back to enjoying my life again & rarely take pain medication. I'm very pleased with my results @ Dr. Sim's Chiropractic Center & I think you will be too. read more

The doctor is very nice. That said--people should know going into this that they will pressure you to come way more than you might want to. I went in hoping for a quick adjustment and was instead shown a video trying to upsell me on more appointments, then was told I have to attend a mandatory class about wellness, and that I'd have to do 15 appointments in the next few weeks (and I am paying out of pocket!) The way they speak to you is clearly designed to ensure you are pressured into giving them as much business as possible. As someone who barely has time for even one appointment, I definitely didn't intend to start dumping all my free time and money into this, and I didn't like feeling pressured. Instead of pushing more appointments (and classes?) on people, I think they should ask what your goals and lifestyle will allow.
