Advantage Rehabilitation and Wellness Center has terrible practices that result in patients being misled and taken advantage of. I visited the DC facility on 19th Street earlier this month and I wish I never did. I had back pain and wanted to determine the cause of it. When I arrived, a doctor (I think it was a doctor...not sure any more) performed a brief examination and then took me to have X-Rays done. I expected to have X-Rays done of my back...since that's where I was experiencing the pain. Instead, a series of X-Rays were performed of my chest and torso? I don't really know what the XRays were of. After that, I was placed on a table that had rollers in it for about 10 minutes. The machine rolled on my back back and forth. I asked what the purpose of that was. I was told that it was to loosen up my body for an adjustment. Shortly after that, the lady who did "the exam" cracked my back and snapped my neck. The appointment was over after that. I paid my $30 copay and was told that I'd need to come back the next day to meet with the doctor so that she could review my X-rays with me. She couldn't review them that day, as she was not there. That was weird to me, but I agreed to come back the next day. When I arrived the next day, I was told to get back on the rolling table. I said "I just did this yesterday. I'm only here to go over X-Rays." The person at the front desk told me that getting on the rolling table was a part of that appointment. Reluctantly, I got on the roller table. Afterward, a guy I've never see before cracked my neck. He didn't do my back...just my neck. Then I was sent back to my seat in the waiting area. I sat there for quite some time before asking if I could see the doctor because I had to go...I literally came there on my lunch break. I was taken to the doctor right away. She went over some stuff about how my neck is too straight and I needed to get a pillow to correct it. I said "ok." But I was worried about my back. As far as my back was concerned, the doctor told me that it would stop hurting after weeks of therapy. She handed me a schedule that required me to come to their office for "therapy" multiple times per week to make my neck get a curve in it. Um what? I specifically asked the doctor if my insurance was going to cover all of that. "Oh yes. They'll tell you all about that at the front." The doctor gave me the pillow thing for my neck. I went to the front. When I got there, I had a $95 bill. What the hell for, though? The pillow was $65 (it was more like a piece of fricking styrofoam which I still have not opened) and I had another $30 copay. WHY?! why do I have to pay a copay again when I was just here yesterday? I'm only here again because the doctor wasn't here yesterday! When I expressed this I was asked "did you have an adjustment? If so, that's why. You have to pay for the services you receive." I was damn near forced to get on the rolling table and get my neck cracked though! I told them I just did that yesterday! It gets worse. A few weeks later, I check my insurance claims and see that the office tried to charge my insurance $250 for the damn styrofoam neck pillow thing. On top of that, I was charged for all types of nonsense that they made it seem like were apart of the visit, and my insurance didn't cover it all, leaving me with a large contribution. The most unacceptable thing is the fact that they just do things without asking for approval of the patient. When they just start doing things, I automatically assumed that it was a part of the visit because I DIDN'T APPROVE THIS MESS! I went back to the office yesterday to complain and to have some of the charges removed from my insurance. The receptionist was so snippy and annoying that I didn't even see it through. I simply left. I now owe about $600 for a ton of nothing and my back still hurts (they never did anything about that...just started talking about my neck being too straight). I'm sick about all of this...truly! I would never recommend this place to anyone. They need to improve the way they operate and stop being ratchet immediately! I'm so over it. Do. Not. Go. read more

I went twice after being referred from my doctor. Complete scam and I received extremely dishonest and contrary medical feedback. Rashida Cohen said I had severe scoliosis and a few days before a different chirorpactor said my spine and back looked great and no signs of it. Rashida pushed me to buy all kinds of crap, totaling over $200 on my first visit and recommended I needed to come twice a week to become 'healthy'. Each of the two visits I went to I had to wait over 30 minutes to get seated and then an additional 20 minutes for someone to see me. Such a scam. Don't ever go here. read more

While sitting in an airport in pain, I called the Capitol Hill office and received an appointment the next day. It had been years since I had been to this practice - when Dr. Henderson owned it. A lot had changed, including the location of the office. Dr. Harris is great!!! Not only is she kind, she was gentle and thorough with my adjustments, knowing that I was in a lot of pain. I had to go to the Dupont Circle location for my X-ray, which I found inconvenient. Dr. Cohen conducted the x-ray the same day...I just jumped on the Metro. After each subsequent treatment, I felt improvement. Transactions were always handled well and professionally. I'm going to the Dupont Circle office tomorrow for an adjustment, since I work nearby and can get treatment during lunch. Will update. read more

Is it possible some of the variation in reviews is because people are writing about two different locations? I go to the CAPITOL HILL location, at 641 Pennsylvania Ave SE, near the Eastern Market metro. And I have never had an administrative problem. They seem to bill easily with my insurance, and the staff are all quietly friendly. I love Dr Cohen. This is my second attempt at chiropractic care, and to be honest I'm never sure it makes much of a difference for my severe scoliosis and related pain. I do seem to stand straighter after a series of treatments. That's the main reason for the 4 stars -- I would expect a 5-star treatment to make a really noticeable difference. But otherwise I have no complaints. Most treatments involve 20 minutes on either a table with a big roller that moves up and down your back or a pummeling water type of massage. I believe it's billed separately to insurance as "physical therapy" in conjunction with the "chiropractic", but I only have a single co-payment for each visit. Just thought it was worth mentioning in case it affects someone's insurance situation. I have only tried the massages, but I'm now plotting which bank I can rob so I can go back every week. It was only a 1/2 hour treatment, and she cured an amazing number of back and neck issues in that short time. And in response to another review, I didn't tip for the massage -- usually do, but I assumed the medical setting and slightly high cost meant it was not expected here -- and definitely didn't hear a word about it. This is a great office with 3 chiropractors, Dr. Cohen, Dr. Williams and Dr Smith, and 2 massage therapists. I've had a great experience with all three of the chiropractors and one of the massage therapist, April. The receptionists are also very sweet. A 1 hour massage session is $85 and a chiropractic session is $20 with a PPO co-pay (of course this can vary due to different insurance plans). I'm not sure how much it would be without insurance. read more

As someone who is very active in Capoeira and Yoga I am perpetually straining something. A year ago I had started seeing another chiropractor in Dupont who left me in more pain than when I had walked in. A nutritionist friend had recommended Dr. Cohen and I made an appointment. Not only is her entire staff kind and professional, but Dr. Cohen is awesome. She makes getting your neck cracked (ok aligned) bearable. She's kind, professional and genuinely cares about her patients. The back rollers are great for getting your spine warmed up for a good adjustment. She also sells a GREAT line of cod liver oil that she first recommended for muscles, but that I found later helps with adult acne! I owe her for a painless back and neck AND a flawless complexion. I came to see Dr. Cohen, but was introduced to Dr. D. Hatcher, who is working in this practice as well. Dr. Hatcher quickly figured out the cause of my often severe lower back pain. After three weeks of three times a week with Dr. Hatcher I am down to Zero pain! Now I finally feel I can start with regular exercise again to get my supporting muscles back in shape. A visit will likely look something like this: 1. 12min on a relaxation roller bed. 2. Then the Dr. will do the necessary adjustments (chiropractic manipulations, the ones that give those cracking sounds). He takes his time, gives advise, and answers questions! 3. He also applies medical tape to the affected areas. It will stay on a few days for in between visits. 4. Some exercises, once you're up for it. Great experience! read more

I'm taking a moment to review this practice because I think it's truly exceptional rehibilitation and customer service. First - the critical stuff. They've helped my back pain a lot. I was very pregnant, dealing with current back pain, and also worried about the potential for back labor (again) with baby #2. Dr. Cohen got me adjusted regularly and sent me home with exercises. My back got better and I didn't have back labor during birth. PHEW. Second - the customer service. The staff seem to genuinely enjoy working here. It's a happy, energetic place, with seriously good music (really)! The first visit they take the time to explain both their operation, as well as your back issues on a model skeleton. The doc even called me after my first adjustment to see how I was feeling. The staff remember your name, they squeeze you in if needed, everyone is really competent. This is how I imagine all offices were once upon a time... The only complaint I can possibly conjure up is the building - nice building, great location but the landlord needs to update the 5th floor bathroom. Not any fault of the practice, but their landlord. Overall, a really 5 star experience. read more

I will give them credit for giving me an x-ray upon which I found out I had a mild form scoliosis. However, I do not appreciate the lack of communication when it came to my insurance and billing. I was told that I was fully covered along with my co-pay of $35. 3 months after treatment I get a $266.50 bill in the mail saying that i owe money. I came to find out that my insurance only covered adjustments NOT all the other things the doctors recommended I do (i.e. rolling tables, ball stretches, muscle stimulators, etc.). If I had known of these costs beforehand I would have simply went for adjustments, however, the office did not specify and simply said I was good to go. Furthermore, while I was receiving treatment I told them where I was feeling pain but instead of addressing the pain they made adjustment elsewhere. It was not until switched doctors (twice) that I finally got the treatment I needed. I eventually left because it was getting expensive and I am glad that I did because my $266.50 bill would have been a lot more. I do not personally recommend this establishment (I went to the location on M Street). If you do go here and have insurance make sure they tell you exactly what your insurance covers because they will try to recommend everything else in the book and then saddle you with the bill. read more

Update: MAJOR billing issues overshadowing any potential positive placebo effect. I'm just receiving my benefit statements from my insurance co and there are added (fraudulent) charges billed to them right and left. Two treatments on the same day??? Never happened. Hot/cold pack applied??? $65??? Never had any hot/cold packs applied. The headache this place is causing is completely ridiculous, even worse now that I have a new baby who I'm juggling as I make these time-consuming calls to report fraudulent billing and charges. According to the EOBs I'm receiving I'm going to end up owing hundreds of dollars over the co-pay amount I was quoted and paid at the time of service. Not happening. Read other reviews about billing issues--they're not lying. This stuff can be time-consuming and frustrating to fight and unpaid medical bills can even affect your credit. Bottom line: stay away. I was skeptical of chiropractors to begin with, and have no pain currently, but am now 9 months pregnant and was encouraged at my birthing classes to find a chiropractor who specializes in pregnancy to "optimize my pelvic/baby/uterus position". First, there are all kinds of scheduling issues here, which feels very unprofessional. Twice I've shown up to an appointment that they couldn't find on their end, despite the fact that they were dictating appointment day and time to me. Once it had to be rescheduled for the following week. Another time I showed up and noticed 2 of us were booked for the same time with the same Doctor. Intentional or oversight? Who knows. Once I was told the receptionist was new and terrible and the doctor apologized profusely. I've taken to calling the day of the appointment and confirming, which certainly seems like something that should fall under their responsibilities. Dr. Cohen is warm and friendly, I like Dr. Morris a little less. He is a bit rougher than I feel comfortable with, and friendly-cheesy. When I started coming Dr. Cohen found all kinds of "serious problems" that she recommended 3x weekly visits for... Now my skepticism was being confirmed. First, like I said, I have no pain. Even 9 months pregnant, I feel awesome. Second, the baby (from a purely Western medical perspective) is in great position: low, head down, left side, etc. So while I have no problem coming in maybe weekly or so for the next few wks, you're losing any confidence by insisting something is terribly amiss and I need to dedicate hours per week to therapy, when of course I also have actual prenatal doctor's appointments, birth/breastfeeding classes, and you know, my life. Dr. Cohen got way too pushy with the appointments, which I simply didn't have availability on my schedule for, and I saw Dr. Morris at the next visit a full week later. He was so laid-back about scheduling he didn't recommend more than once a week despite me expecting to compromise at 2x weekly. So I guess he's not feeling the major issues she's under the impression I have?? On the other hand I had a prenatal massage here and it was AMAZING. Now, I love massage in general, but I was completely in heaven and like the masseuse very much. I will update my review after birth, and can give some credit if labor is very smooth or if I get an adjustment literally in labor that makes a world of difference. I don't feel better/worse/different at this point so it would be tough to convince me that I need to continue postpartum. I also had minor billing issues where they overcharged the first 2x and of course haven't refunded anything once I pointed out they were way off on my copay amount. You definitely need to do your own insurance research. read more

While the front office workers were friendly and accommodating, my visit was either a bait and switch or this is an unprofessional practice. I've been to numerous chiropractors over the years and understand they operate differently. I made it clear several times to the intake folks that I did not want to have x-rays and let them know if they were required I would go elsewhere. They assured me I could get a simple neck adjustment that afternoon without xrays. When I returned for an appointment in the afternoon I was kept waiting 30 minutes. The doctor I saw would not adjust me without x-rays, said it was a firm policy there. Huh? I paid $85 for an initial "meeting" and additionally my insurance was to be billed. I could go on but have wasted enough time and money on "Advantage" ... (all theirs). Steer clear, there are many good chiropractors in the District. read more

Don't get me wrong, I am not anti-chiropractor. I have been having back and body issues this entire month and I really thought that the chiropractor would be more responsive and attentive to my needs than a physician. Boy, was I wrong. First of all, don't even bother going if you don't have health insurance. You will be quoted a much different rate than what the exam actually cost, like 50-100 dollars more. Second, the chiropractors do not have good bedside manner. The one I saw looked down at his clipboard the entire time, and even managed to hum as opposed to make conversation with me during my intake. Third, the chiropractors displayed little knowledge outside of a rudimentary knowledge of the skeletal system. When I tried to express some of my symptoms that were more neurological, the chiropractor appeared confused at time. I am a fan of chiropractors, but definitely not this place. This place is clearly profit driven and not concerned with patient care. Save your money or go somewhere else. Trust me! read more

I can't believe i'm writing a review to this hellish experience. 14 months after the treatment, this office called me to try to send me a bill. They assured me I was insured when I went (and I know I was, chiropractice is covered by my plan) but they cannot get the insurance to pay. So they call me... 14 months late. I am not a member of that insurance company so I have no way to check what's going on. I know I'll end up footing the bill. I can't believe that after the terrible medical service they provided, they top it off with administrative incompetence. I don't think I've ever said this in yelp.com but... do not go to this office. Just don't. Do yoga, pray that your maladies go away on their own, anything. The headaches you'll get from Advantage Rehab are the worst ever. I made an appointment for Sept 2011 to get my back adjusted. Unfortunately, the lady who made the booking failed to mention to me that the Doctor would not be adjust my back. Instead, the dr would do an evaluation, take x-rays, then make an appointment for an adjustment. When I got to my appointment, I went to see the dr, and again was never told that there would be no adjustment that day. In addition, there was also no X-ray because the office failed to check my insurance to see if it would be covered (if they had mentioned the X-ray previously, I could have done this myself). So I was told that I would have to make another appointment for an X-ray, and then after that one I would need to make a third appointment for the adjustment (essentially tripling my time commitment and my co-pay). I was told that they would be waiving the co-pay for the first visit because they were unable to provide the service that I request (a back adjustment) or the services I needed in order to get the back adjustment (the X-ray). Fast forward to 7 months later, I get a bill in the mail that says I do in fact need to pay the co-pay. I promptly emailed the Center inquiring if this was a billing error. I received no response. I sent two follow up email and left two voice messages over the course of three months. No one has ever gotten back to me. read more

He was incredibly apologetic, offered an explanation of what has gone wrong, and offered solutions to me to help remedy the situation. I have incredible respect for business owners that go through this type of trouble. It proves to me that even if the experience they provide isn't perfect or up to expectations, they are willing to work on fixing the problem for the individual as well as for the betterment of their business. Dr. Cohen is a very good doctor & a nice person but her priority with het paitents arnt in order. You'll recieve very special treatment if your pregnant. She will go up & beyond for you all. Anyone else is just another paitent. If your very nice and tolerent of disorderlyness you get the short end of the stick because they know you wont argue like many. I am a health care provider. I am also very healthy and have not needed to see any medical providers until I became pregnant. My experience with the healthcare system thus far has been largely traumatic and I was beginning to lose faith in my field, that is until I went to see Dr Cohen. Prior to seeing Dr Cohen, I have had trouble with every step of medical care from making an appointment, to having an appointment and a doctor refusing to see me, to ridiculously long wait times, to being given a wrong horrible diagnosis, to insurance drama. I wish I could name the health system that cause me all of this stress but I work for them and I fear they might hunt me down and make me disappear...but I digress, back to Dr Cohen. My experience with Dr Cohen and her staff was a breath of fresh air!!! When I called to make an appointment, the young lady I spoke with was very pleasant and helpful and although she initially did not have any appointments that would fit my very inflexible schedule she found a way to squeeze me in. I was extremely grateful, especially since I had been in pain since a car accident. I arrived at my appointment early and was seen a few minutes before my appointment. I think she makes a real effort to see patients on time. Her office is very tastefully decorated. After I signed in I was given a thoughtful tour of the office and I was shown a brief video about chiropractic medicine which helped me to know what to expect. The best part was the surprise "gift" that she gives to pregnant mommies (you will have to make an appointment to find out what it is) I was totally blown away! After watching the video one of Dr Cohen's junior associates took my history and took some basic measurements. Dr Cohen entered soon thereafter. I don't have the words to adequately describe Dr Cohen. She is energetic, warm, kind, friendly and very knowledgeable, especially when it comes to mamas to be. She did a great job of explaining everything in easy to understand terms. She answered all of my questions before doing an adjustment. I must admit that I was a bit skeptical about the effects of one treatment but my back pain felt better. The real test was to come at night when my back pain is the worst and I have to grip the wall to get to the bathroom. That night was the first time in a long time I have been able to get out of bed and walk without excruciating pain! I still have a very negligible amount of pain but the before and after difference was quite dramatic! One of the nicest touches was that Dr Cohen called me at home that night to make sure I was doing ok after the adjustment. That was definitely a wow moment! When was the last time your doctor called you at home the evening after an office visit?? I don't write a lot of reviews but I had to take time out of my schedule to write about the exceptional care I received. As far as chiropractors go, having worked as a marketing representative in the past for another chiropractic group , Advantage Rehabilitation and Wellness Center is excellent. The patient centered care that Dr. Cohen and her team provide is individualized to the client. It is the kind of service that more health care providers need to place into their practice. As a nurse who works on her feet 12 hours per shift, I found myself to be in severe discomfort as I progressed in my pregnancy. If you are pregnant and in pain, this is just the place for you to receive medical treatment minus all the harmful potential side effects of traditional pharmaceutical therapies. The key is to keep going - miracles do not happen overnight, but they do happen and believe me, you will be sleeping soundly, free of back pain throughout your pregnancy as I am now. I highly recommend Dr. Cohen and her team of doctors who truly take the time to make your treatments meet your specific needs and who provide professional chiropractic care. read more

My initial visit included a thorough examination which validated the goal for my treatment. Dr. Hollander has been very attentive, pleasant and personable as it relates to my weekly visits. Also, Dr. Rashida Cohen has been a marvelous joy. She has been very expressive and diligent as it relates to my course of care. I feel like such a spoilsport, after reading the other reviews, but I was not impressed with this office at all. I had no experience with chiropractic before, so it's possible that their services are good, but my initial session with the male doctor and their office's billing procedures completely turned me off. My first visit (with the male dr) was peremptory, and I was told that my neck was pretty messed up, but then there was no therapy offered. (I've since found out that often on first visits no therapy is given, but I didn't know that, and he didn't seem willing to explain that. He didn't seem willing to talk much at all.) I called to cancel my subsequent visit, but Dr. Cohen got on the phone and convinced me to come back -- she is really nice, and I felt I was being too judgmental. So I went back for a few sessions (they wanted me to come in three times a week, plus massage), and got minor "adjustments" from Dr. Cohen (who is very nice). Then, after the treatment, I was faced with a huge bill, despite the fact that their office is covered by my insurance. I assumed that they, like other doctors' offices, would submit to my insurance, and then I would get a bill. I was reassured by the office staff (very very nice) that those costs were indeed the "fair and reasonable" amounts I would be liable for under my insurance. Who was I to know? My insurance comes back, and it turns out their office has completely over-charged me, and the office now owes me money. I have called them four times in the past month, and was finally reassured today they would send a check. They all sound very nice, and I'm sure are very nice, but I was skeptical about chiropractic to begin with, and this did nothing to win me over. read more

This office is why I think Yelp should have two ratings: one for quality, one for service. The first visit I waited over an hour to be seen, during which time I was asked to watch a video on chiropractic care. I was then seen by a terrific doctor (not Dr. Cohen) who took an extensive medical history from me. We then located to another room, he did some measurements and testing - but no treatment. I made an appointment for a week later, called beforehand to ask if the doctor was running more than 15 minutes late, because if so I'd reschedule. The receptionist confirmed that he was not running more than 15 minutes late. When I arrived I waited for 15 minutes then was asked to watch another video...and at the 25 minute wait mark, I left. I have no idea what quality of care is available at this office because of the communist China waiting situation. read more

There are too many other options. This is not worth it. They tried to send me a bill two and a half years after the service was provided. I went to appointments off and on for a year after this service, yet not one time did they ask about this bill. It is completely unethical to ask for a bill to be paid two and a half years after the service and to have not sent any previous bills. And, also to threaten to send you to bill of collection even though previous bills were not received. read more

I had similar experience to the reviewers. The staff there is very nice and they called my after my second office visit to see how I was feeling. This being said, the first time I visited their office (in severe back pain) they did not treat me and the second time they did some stretching and had me lay on a mechnized table--no adjustments, no attempt to relieve my pain. However, they were happy to sell my $60 worth of vitamins, have me watch two dvds, attempt to sign me up on a 3 month treatment regime, and, after I decided to seek real chiropractic care, charge me $25 for the X-rays I already paid for. Friendliness does not ever make up for not treating someone in pain. Doctors take an oath to do no harm and the lack of care is equivelent to harm. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Cohen and her practice. I have never had someone go so far above and beyond all expectations to help a patient. It was Saturday, Labor Day weekend, and I went for my usual run which normally causes me no problems. However, for some reason, this time, immediately after my run, my back started to tighten up -- and then went into the worst back spasm I have EVER EXPERIENCED. I'm no stranger to back pain which is why i'm supposed to see a chiropractor on the regular, but this was something way worse than I have ever experienced. Every time I moved, I would literally scream in pain. My neighbors probably thought there was a woman in labor(or being murdered) next door to them, that is how bad it was. I hoped it would pass as quickly as it came, but by the following day I had NO RELIEF whatsoever. My normal chiropractor was out of town, on vacation. Luckily, a friend of mine knew Dr. Cohen and introduced me to her via phone/text message that day. Dr. Cohen made a special, SAME DAY, OFF HOURS office visit just for me, on a holiday weekend, no less. She dropped whatever plans she had and came all the way into her office for me. That speaks volumes about a doctor who truly cares about patients. I do not know any doctor who has ever done or would ever do this. She took plenty of time with me during the appointment... she was beyond thorough and I was really impressed with her level of expertise. Her dedication and knowledge really show through her treatment, because I am happy to report that I have had vast improvement in the last 24 hours since I saw her. Today I was able to walk outside for over an hour, go shopping for several hours, go out to dinner, and basically all other normal activities of daily living. The office is very modern with what seems like all the latest technologies, which is great. It is a very warm, welcoming environment. There are a lot of different treatment modalities that she offers, which is also wonderful. With some chiropractors, it's basically, "crack your neck, crack your back, you're done." Dr. Cohen treats you in a variety of different ways: different physical therapies, manual manipulation of the tight muscles in the area, along with the expected spine adjustment. I would highly recommend this doctor and practice to anyone and everyone. It's not often someone cares enough to go so far out of their way for a patient. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT THIS FRAUD OF A PRACTICE. I apologize for not posting this sooner but I'm new to YELP. My comments relate specifically to Dr. Stephen J. Hill, one of the chiropractors in the practice. Though I was referred to Dr. Cohen, Dr. Hill ended up treating me after Dr. Ritchey did an initial assessment. Their administrative inefficiencies far underscore the near tragedy I suffered in their hands. Simply put, I was paralyzed from the waste down after a treatment with Dr. Hill. I have since recuperated though the burn marks on my lower back will forever mark the torture endured in their care. I reported Dr. Hill and the practice to the DC Board of Chiropractors and warn everyone to avoid this practice at all costs. The paralysis followed a careless choice to stretch my back with an aggressive stretching machine following an initial attempt to adjust my lower back to alleviate back pain. The treatment aggravated the swelling in the affected area and my spinal cord responded with full paralysis to avoid any further damage from being inflicted. I was stuck on a treatment table face down in the most mind numbing excruciating pain I've ever endured incapable of moving while the doctor fretted over what to do. He first tried ice then placed electronic nodes on my muscles to stimulate the area which did nothing but to sear my skin ..hence the burn scars I mentioned earlier. I felt my only recourse was 911 but fortunately they called in a massage therapist whose professionalism and talent helped me off the table. 7 hours after walking into the office, I was picked up by a friend bound in a full body brace and armed with a week's worth of narcotics prescribed by an orthopedist in another office. I slept through 3 days of pain killing narcotic bliss before my back muscles let up and I could walk comfortably again. I went from having minor lower back discomfort to full paralysis at the hands of the so-called professionals in this practice. I'm still waiting on the Board of Chiropractors to do their job and suspend the practicing licenses for Dr. Hill and by extension, Dr. Cohen, for mishandling the case after my complaint calls and letters flowed. And naturally the bills for this eventful day are still flowing into my mailbox. Need I say more?? read more

Never tried chiropractic before, but figured "why not," after persistent neck ache. "Dr." Hill put me on a primitive massage table with a roller beneath it for about 5 minutes, which really did nothing but make me feel...err..."kneaded." He lightly pressed on my back in a few places, and then attached a couple of buzzers to my shoulder blades for "electro therapy" or some other ridiculous name. After the timer went off, I think he kind of forgot about me, even though no other "patient" was in the office, so I lay there for about 5 minutes face down and wired up. Then he snap turned my neck a few degrees past my comfort level on each side, and that was it: I can't believe people pay for this. He tried to sell a massage at $120 for 30 min. and then referred me for x-rays, where I think the real money is. Forget it. They are just taking advantage of people's pain and will to believe. Maybe some people get a placebo effect, or just like the attention, but your are paying a lot for that. read more
