Still the best hot dogs in town! I remember going there when it first opened at Old Town Mall, a guy named Mike owned it then. I followed when he moved to this location in Sparks. I have had great hot dogs from this place. But yesterday I got something completely different. The Chicago dog was not authentic at all, and looked like it was prepared by Olga Stronghands! It was so squashed and rolled into the wrapper that there was hardly any bun left. No sports peppers, but Pepperoncinis. No relish. The chili cheese dog was not rolled but very bland. We ordered take out here the other day and the staff was very friendly and attentive. They had a sense of urgency about their service from the beginning to the end and hey did so with a smile. They have a fairly simple menu with straight forward items, and I ordered the slaw dog. The hot dog was flavorful, but not too salty. Although I wish it had a bit more snap on the outside. The coleslaw, mustard, and onions added a bright freshness to the hot dog. But I ordered a pickle and it was too sour for my taste. My friend got the chili dog and I tasted some of the chili, it was super flavorful but there were way too many beans in it for me. On the rare occasions when I get in a weiner mood, I look for a natural casing that provides a "snappy" bite. My first snappy bite was at Sinbad's Hot Dogs as a kid. Opened in 1979 with sausages made by a Bay Area, family owned provisioner, the woman who bought the place 12 years ago has stuck with the same dog and nearly the same menu. Having not been back in years, it seemed high time to take the family for a visit. The stripmall space is small and unassuming, festooned with plenty of hot dog Americana. There's even a schematic detailing the assembly of a fully dressed dog, amusing my inner nerd. The dogs themselves are steamed and served at a nice temperature. Service was really quick, despite our largish order and a lone person working the counter. My kraut dog ($4.85) with mustard, onion, and tons of sauerkraut was exactly how I like it. The "foot long" had plenty of snap and flavor. My son's Chicago dog ($4.50) with mustard, tomato, sliced dill pickle, onion, sliced pepperoncini, and celery salt was a fair approximation of the Windy City favorite, with pepperoncini pinch hitting for Chicago "sport peppers". My spice-averse daughter-in-law surprised me by ordering a chili cheese dog ($6.50), featuring 2 scoops of meat-and-bean "restaurant style" chili, onion, and freshly grated cheddar cheese. The chili was on the mild side, very meaty, and served hot enough to melt the cheese. I'm told it's probably the top seller, and one bite convinced me this is likely so. If you're really hungry, make it a double for another buck. The grandson got a mild Polish sausage ($5.50) with mustard, relish, onion, and tomato, eating it starting at the middle, eventually deconstructing to an unrecognizable mess. Toddlers make their own unique path, and I suppose there's no right way to eat a hot dog. He clearly enjoyed it, being the plate was practically licked clean. Grandpa got a bite before the carnage ensued; the seasoning on this sausage was particularly tasty. My older daughter ordered a hot link ($5.50) with ketchup, mustard, relish, onion, and tomato, and a plate of nachos for the table to share ($6.25). The sausage was roughly "medium" in heat and nicely seasoned. Nachos consisted of round yellow corn tortilla chips topped with plenty of chili, shredded cheddar, onion, sliced jalapeno, and nacho cheese sauce. It was a mess--as good nachos always are--and surprisingly enjoyable. I probably wouldn't have ordered it, but I'm glad she did. My younger daughter tried the pizza dog special ($5.75) smothered in pizza sauce, steamed pepperoni, and fresh grated mozzarella cheese. I thought it was just OK, but she seemed pretty happy with her selection. Her boyfriend was pretty happy with a Frito chili bowl ($5.75), two scoops of chili on top of Frito corn chips with cheddar and onion. He said it reminded him of a similar treat growing up in L.A., and it was gone before I could get a taste. It apparently hit the spot. Milkshakes are available in a variety of flavors ($3.75), and my son's chocolate malted took me back to when I thought chocolate Ovaltine was the best thing ever. The grandson got a little bowl with whipped cream and chocolate sauce at no charge, which he enjoyed like it was the best thing ever. Thankfully, some things never change. read more

I came to this place on a limb I was just a little hungry but didn't want to eat something that I have already eaten before so I just came to Sinbad's For a good hotdog. In my opinion my favorite was the hot link it was so tasty and flavorful and it just tasted so amazing. The Nacho dog was all right definitely not my favorite I just didn't expect that she used to just taste like canned cheese. And the Chicago dog was all right I ended up not finishing it because it just was not my forte. It automatically smelled like celery salt the minute I opened it which yes it does come with celery salt on it but it was just such an overpowering smell that it kind of made me lose appetite for this specific hotdog. but this place is really nice I might come back a couple of times but not anytime soon read more

It was our first time here and I gotta say we will definitely be back. Our friend talks about them all the time and we can see why. We ordered three Frito Chili Pie, a Spicy Hot Link Sausage for our Friend, Chili Cheese Dog for my Daughter, a Plain Hot Dog with Onions for My Wife and finally a Buffalo Dog with the addition of a Hot Link for me. I've never had a Frito Chili Pie and really enjoyed it. It could be a meal in itself and it's super simple. Fritos, 2 Scoops of Chili, Raw Onions and Shredded Cheddar Cheese. I will definitely order it again. My daughters Chili Cheese Dog had great flavor and the Hot Dog had great snap. My Buffalo Dog was great. It was a Hot Link with Franks Red Hot Sauce, Ranch, Chopped Celery, Blue Cheese Crumbles and Celery Salt. Amazing flavors and the Ranch and Celery really balanced out the heat. Unfortunately it was a monthly special item so I'm gonna try to go before it's gone. I really enjoyed our meal and appreciate how the menu is simple. They focus on making a great Hot Dog with out all the crazy toppings some places have that hide the fact that their hot dogs aren't quality. I got the kraut dog daily special that comes with a bag of chips, 1 side and a drink for $8.99, my free hotdog was Chicago dog which wasn't the original Chicago dog but it was good. First place I ever had a hotdog with a tomato on it. As for my full experience in this place, is an has always been a great one. From first time you step inside of this location you can feel the warmth and the sweetness of the staff, the two young women in the establishment have always been amazing, and very thoughtful when it comes to customer satisfaction. As for the food, these ladies offer great an satisfying products, yeah some may see it as just a hot dog but these are way more then your ordinary hot dog, these are extremely extremely fulfilling in flavors an the taste.
