I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes (the Covid-19 pandemic was beginning to spread). Everything was closing, including the surgery center in Portage. I was the last patient for more than 2 months. That meant my second eye surgery was cancelled. However, I was able to contact them if I needed to and get answers to any questions during that time. Dr. Joseph Doe had done my husband's cataract surgery and he has been very happy with the results. When the surgery center reopened, I was contacted immediately for my second cataract surgery. I am now on my third day after surgery. I have been back to be checked to make sure everything is healing properly. I am THRILLED with my 20/20 vision! Only inexpensive reading glasses required! Dr. Joseph Doe is friendly, kind, and reassuring as is everyone in that office! I'm 79 years old. I have NEVER SEEN BETTER IN MY LIFE! I highly recommend these folks.

When I got the the center, I got checked in and it was very brisk and formal. The woman at the front desk was professional and not overly friendly. Then I was taken in for some pictures of my eyes which was pretty quick. The actual procedure itself was only about 20 minutes. Everyone there was really nice and helpful, being sure to explain everything that was going on. The doctors were both really nice, and the surgeon made sure to let me know what was going on and was encouraging the entire time during the procedure. So far I have 20/20 vision post-op with no glasses or contacts!

All the test were taken which took about 20-25 mins because she had to keep walking out. I was over it. Checking out took about 10 mins and she was in such a rush she couldn't keep everything in order because there was someone else that had already been waiting for 25 mins. The same lady did everything from start to finish, they need more employees or need to space more time between appointments.

When my partner called today, the only update was: "they aren't in yet." Staff acknowledged the deadline has passed but gave no explanation and no new timeline. The store did not contact him before the deadline passed. This delay has real consequences. His existing glasses have deteriorated to the point of being unusable, and he depends on corrective lenses to drive safely and perform his job. Missing a promised pickup date for basic single-vision glasses, with no communication or urgency, puts unnecessary strain on someone who relies on vision to work and commute safely. Waiting 21 days for standard single-vision glasses and still missing the promised date is unacceptable. If you need glasses within a reasonable timeframe, do not rely on this location. One star.

My wife asked why she wasn't just refunded the full amount, and the associate admitted the charge but insisted it was a mistake. This felt less like an honest error and more like a push for commission. Now we're stuck waiting days for a refund we never should've needed. If you shop here, double-check your receipt and be cautious--especially if you decline add-ons. We won't be returning.
