I only take my daughter to Sinister Salon, because everywhere else we would go to get her a pixie, they gave her a Karen cut. They understood what she was looking for and they gave her instructions on how to style it. Every employee we've encountered is unique and has delivered fantastic end results. Now three years going to this salon, I highly recommend as it welcomes all desired styles and ages! It has an alternative aesthetic and is very lgbt friendly! My only advice is plan ahead and arrive early, there's limited parking in the parking lot.

I just want to say the staff at Sinister salon are amazing and a big shoutout to my moms hairstylist Brittany my mom has dementia and Brittany has been her stylist for a few years now because since the first day my mom meet her she really connected with her , Brittany has a real loving heart and patience to do my moms hair I won't take my mom to anyone else only Brittany because she is so caring and also because she is a great stylist

To start off, I have no issues with the staff, and this isn't a critique of their technique or anything--I think my stylist did great and was super friendly! However, I did not get what I asked for at all. For starters, the inspiration photos were pastel-color ghost roots, which I acknowledge were a long shot, but my roots lifted to a nice pale blonde (I'd say around a level 8). So my question is: if I showed her a picture of light roots with dark ends, why did I leave with dark purple roots? I don't think she did a bad job, but maybe next time I'll just ask for a bleach and do the color myself. I had to lighten the color, and now I have a neon pink--which is fine--but that's $200+ wasted. :( Just be extra specific, I guess.

I'm really bad about maintaining my own hair. I have a tendency to just let it grow until I get super sick of it, and then shave my head. The last time I got a haircut was a little over a year ago, and I recently found myself wanting something fun, shorter, and lighter for the new year. Something that I wouldn't have to invest a ton of time in for upkeep. I started researching salons, as the last person I had cut my hair isn't currently taking appointments. Enter Sinister Salon. I know a lot of folks who have gotten their hair done here, and I follow them on social media. The idea of an alternative salon was super intriguing to my gothy little heart. Sinister Salon is the first salon I've found that doesn't do gendered pricing. No "men's haircut" or "Long women's hair cut" prices here! Prices are based on length of hair only. Long cuts are one price, no matter your gender. Short cuts are one price, no matter your gender. Inclusivity is super important to me, so I absolutely loved this. Booking online was easy. I arrived a little early to my appointment. The salon DOES have a parking lot, but it is a little small, and was full when I arrived. (Its in a strip mall with other businesses) Not to worry though, there is a public parking lot across the street that I was able to use. I walked in and was greeted warmly, asked if I had an appointment, and who with. I let them know I had an appointment with Blake, and was shown to the back of the salon where the waiting area is. Alternative/Rock music playing on the speakers, Lots of fun, funny, and alternative artwork and stickers on the walls...I fell in love before I even had my haircut done! When my time came up, Blake showed me to his station and asked what I was thinking about. I showed him my inspiration photo, and we got to work! I don't remember the name of the person who washed my hair, but they were awesome. They kept checking in with me about the temperature of the water, and I was very relaxed during my wash. That's always my favorite part of a hair cut! Blake did an amazing job with my hair. He made me feel super comfortable (as someone who isn't always comfortable with small talk, that's a bit of a feat), and really made me feel like the style I had chosen was a good one. I feel like he tailored the cut to how I normally treat my hair (air dry, not blow dry, and not a lot of product needed). My hair looks SO cute now, and I am confident that I can get the same results without too much effort/upkeep. Blake is the owner of the salon, and I am super pleased to have had him do my hair for me. I'm already planning to come back to see him again for my next cut. in addition to haircuts/blow outs/styling, etc, Sinister Salon also offers waxing and nails! Cannot wait to go back to what is now my new salon! Huge thanks to Blake and the entire crew at Sinister Salon for a great first visit!!!

Nice little gothic/punk salon. Perfect if that's your vibe, and welcoming to non punk/gothic people as myself. Stylist was very sweet and listened to my needs. Was having a bad day so talking to them cheered me up! Good experience overall and happy with my hair!

Blake did an amazing job helping tame my kiddos curls and giving him a trim so it's not so wild as they grow it out. He was attentive, giving Jack exactly what they were looking for. Gave us suggestions on how to care for their hair and product info to help get their curls in shape. Other salon staff were very friendly and welcoming.

I just moved to Vegas a few months ago and haven't seen a hairstylist since October 2023, so it was nerve-racking finding someone new to do my hair for me. I've been going to the same hairstylist for the past 5 to 10 years. I don't recall how I found Sinister Salon, however, I'm grateful that I did. Their prices are super affordable and don't make you feel like you're breaking the bank, and their staff is bomb! You'll notice as soon as you walk into the salon that it is very alternative, very inclusive, and diverse. The atmosphere in the salon is just the type that makes you feel comfortable as soon as you sit down. Normally salons are very prim and proper, which can make for an uncomfortable experience when you feel like you don't fit in with the vibe. However, at Sinister Salon, all walks of life are welcome. You can tell that the staff consider each other to be family and that Blake, the owner, treats his employees well. Zowie was my stylist early Friday morning. I was one of the first clients to walk through the door, and even though Zowie wasn't there yet, the other hairstylist reached out to her and assured me that she was on her way. I didn't mind, as I know how it is to be juggling a baby and a job simultaneously and I did book my appointments rather last minute. When Zowie came in a short while later, she was very sweet and apologetic and I told her that it was totally OK, that I absolutely understood. We went over what my ideas were in her chair, even though I had only booked for a haircut, she was willing to hear me out about some potential ideas that I had for bleaching and coloring my hair. Going for a more alternative hairstyle was an experience that pushed me outside of my typical comfort zone, and I haven't had my hair bleached or colored since before the pandemic and I also hadn't had bangs in over a decade. Zowie was super enthusiastic and excited about my ideas which bolstered my confidence and reassured me that she believed my idea would look good by the end of the appointment. I was super ecstatic to be looking at the woman who was sitting in the mirror in front of me. Normally, I dread looking at myself in the mirror at the end of my appointments because I am always unsure of whether or not my ideas will look good, but Zowie was able to bring my idea to life. Thank you, Zowie for taking the time to reassure me, to boost my confidence, and gift me with a new haircut that makes me smile every single time I look in the mirror. I feel 100 times cuter than I was before and I can't wait to come back to the salon!

I didn't have a great experience here. Besides my hair, the experience was not great. I don't think I've ever been to a salon where the stylist wasn't around or conversing with their client a majority or even half of the stay. My hair stylist went to 7/11 two or three times during my visit; it honestly wouldn't have bothered me if I hadn't been there for about 8 hours. My appointment was at 10:45 and ended a little before 7. My stylist conversed with other stylists and customers, I'm generally pretty friendly and will talk. But it was a pretty lonely experience. The stylist was not rude in any way and friendly when she did talk to me. She did check in on my hair, but the communication between us was not there. I wanted white color blocking and dark brown (I couldn't commit to going black). After the bleaching and toning, my hair was still a brass yellow. The stylist dryed my hair then asked how I wanted the cut. I had to initiate the discussion of my hair color, I asked if she would tone it as it was still yellow. She let me know that my hair was as light as she could get it and another round of bleach could break my hair. We discussed other options; through the book they had I chose a lavender purple toner and asked if my hair could be this color. I was told with the purple could neutralize the yellow and it wouldn't be an issue. My hair resembles a light brown after placing the toner on. A big issue I have on this, is I wish this conversation was initiated by the stylist and a lot earlier once realizing my hair could not be the color I wanted. I do want to point out that I have had my hair white before from black box dye and yes it took time but my hair was never turned brown from toner, as it was able to be white from virgin hair which is what my front piece was. The underneath of my hair was previously highlight, which I expected issues with. The dark brown I asked for is also an issue with me, I didn't notice as I was more focused on the blonde piece, but it's not much different than my natural hair. It's not as dark as I expected but there's not much to complain about. Another issue was during my hair cut, I noticed she focused on one side. She was about to style it when I pointed out that my bangs were not the same length on each side and that my hair were different lengths at the ends. However, the end lengths were different lengths from a previous hair dresser but I expected a stylist to notice. Overall, she didn't charge me for the haircut since I was unhappy with the final product. I honestly wouldn't be this unsatisfied if the final product looked like it took 8 hours. I feel like the final product looked like it would take less time. The stylist did recommend to either come back in two weeks to attempt to fix it or try a different stylist there who is more experienced in blonding. In the end, I paid the $200 and left. I called today to discuss when to wash my hair, with what shampoo and what to expect since it is brown. The answers were helpful but it makes me nervous for what my hair will look like on my vacation. I feel even worse since my coworkers were shocked and dissatisfied to hear how long I was at this salon and the price I paid upon seeing my hair. I am still unsure whether to come back or even go to a different salon to fix this.

I found Stephanie on instagram almost a year ago after needing a new stylist. We had a quick consultation & she was honest with what she could do. She gave me amazing hair and we really clicked. Over the last year she has made my hair beautiful different shades of red and black mixed. She even fixed my hair after a botched at home try and didn't scold me after haha. She is great to talk too, we have really good conversations. After some time my husband asked if Stephanie could do his hair. She's been doing an awesome job restarting his Mohawk from scratch. My 2 year old son had a bad haircut from a kids salon and we asked Steph if she could help. She specializes in mullets/shags so she fixed up little guys hair no problem. She's gentle and takes her time cutting his hair so he doesn't get upset. Everyone loves his hair. The salon is inviting with people of all backgrounds. Everyone is nice & cool to talk too, I'm happy to call Sinister our family Salon !

I chose this salon after careful research- the alternative vibe appealed to me as a an official weird nuerodivergent freak hoping it would be run and operated by people who are similar to me- I was very wrong. I have nothing against the stylists, but the owner is extremely petty and strange. I had a very awkward cut and color, which ended up with me getting chemically burned on my scalp and neck. I reflected this in my honest review on Google and the owner threw a fit- the exact thing me and other anxious people fear when being honest with any one. He suggested i should have a HANDLER if I'm too autistic to have a hair cut by myself- as it was my fault I got burned. Beware of this place, as any complaint will be scrutinized and mocked by the owner via the many cameras that dot the salons interior if you leave anything less than 5 stars. Also- when brought to their attention they refused apology, or even a partial refund- citing the fact I even mentioned my displeasure at spending 300+ for bald spots and oozing wounds- as me being cheap and unwilling to pay for my perfect haircut. Owner removes bad reviews when he can and I think their score is not reflected honestly as a result. Take this with a grain of salt, of course- as every one is different- but I would not support this place. I hope the stylists are treated OK because the customer sure isn't! Especially if they are too autistic for a haircut

I love sinister salon they really cater to the alternative person. If you wanna SuperCut go there this is the actual bad ass other cut, the better cut. You don't just come here for hairstyling you come here for the full experience it's like walking into a backstage at a rock show. You never know what rockstar will actually be in the salon at any time found out about this place during a Festival in Las Vegas where one of the vans I was working with, Orgy came in to get their hair done. Like I said, this is not for a regular person it's for the adventurous, the artistic and the rockers! So if you're looking for that place, that is not your mom's salon this is your place ! But maybe bring your mom she might actually enjoy it ! read more

I'm not even going to lie I hateeee my hair and it's been 4 months now. You may be wondering why I'm just now saying something well that's because I thought by this time the haircut would look better but I cry about my hair almost every month. The lady who did my hair was so sweet so maybe there was a just a miscommunication but my haircut was so choppy like I don't even think another hairstylist could fix it and the color she did on my damaged my hair way more than I expected. I know what I asked for and this was not it. Yes I knew how damaged one part of my hair was but as a "professional" hair stylist I would assume you would tell ur client "hey maybe this isn't a good idea considering the state of your hair " and I would've said that's fine let's not do it but I'm not a damn hairstylist so I didn't know the bleach would make my hair feel and look like straw(I've since dyed my hair back to black because of how bad it looked) At that I came in for a consultation before my final appointment and I still hated my hair after. When I finished with my hair it was dark outside and the shop was closing so no I wasn't going to tell her right there hey I hate my hair. I'm respectful of peoples time and yes maybe I should've spoken up but you don't know how it feels till you're in that position. All of my family claimed it was not worth $370+ and I agree. They are very friendly people and the vibe was awesome but that doesn't overrule the fact my hair is fucked up and will prolly cost me more money and time to fix it. read more

Got my lashes tinted here yesterday and the experience was wonderful as someone who has past trauma with their eyes, destiny did amazing and was comforting during the experience and laughed at my bad jokes which made the experience a 10/10. The vibes were awesome, I felt safe there, had a little bit of anxiety but that's just me lol. I will be coming back for regular touch ups so my eyes can get used to the process and for when I'm tired of going through the pain of dying my own hair lol. read more

I've been going to Sinister Salon for approaching two years now. I always feel comfortable and welcomed since the first time I stopped in. Blake has helped to bring my hair back to a healthy point after it took some bearings from previous color and cuts. He's helped to take me from a red color, to blue, and back again while maintaining the quality of it. Aside from the craft and care with your hair Blake and his other stylists provide( who are truly artists at what they do,) they also provide a safe space for so many. I can't recommend this salon enough! read more

I met the wonderful family of sinister salon through a karaoke night we all attend. They all are extremely talented at what they do; as well as supportive of each other! When I showed Blake what I wanted, he led me to my stylist Ashlee. Ashlee was superb in every way. Not only did they talk through getting my hair healthy again, they taught me ways to keep up with it. And even if you don't want "alternative" styles- don't hesitate to go to sinister! I, first, had an appointment, walked in and was greeted. I then first had to wait 30 minutes until i was let in a chair. Which is fine. When they started doing my hair, there was a baby, crying, during my hair appointment. Its fine i understand. But they started yelling at the baby which did start to make me uncomfortable. She then to call some people to get the baby. And when she couldn't, she yelled "FUCK!" As she threw her phone on the floor. I get very bad anxiety when someone yells, so as soon as she did that, i got very jumpy and immediately was tense and scared. She proceeded to continue with my hair, kind of yanking it. As soon as she was done applying the bleach. My hair felt like it was on fire, it was burning so bad and i had to wait there for at least 40-50 minutes with the burns. I did ask her if it was normal for it to burn this intensely, she said "yes it is normal" along those lines. I didnt say anything after, which i wish i did. During the bleaching process, she proceeded to leave the building to help her friend out, then comes back in arguing and threatening to shoot a lady, yelling and causing a whole screen, which terrified me to the core. I was so uncomfortable and just ready to leave, i wanted to cry and i probably haven't felt this scared in my life. She then proceeded to do the rest of my hair, I loved my hair, it was beautiful and i just love the color. But never am I comfortable or coming back after this horrible and terrible and terrifying experience. I recommend a better salon than to come here. Thank you. I hate to do this I was so excited about this appointment from all the amazing reviews but I just spent almost 300 bucks to cry the whole way home. At first I thought that it was just a little uneven which is fine after a single session lighting but the back of my head is completely messed up large parts of my hair completely missed with the dye??? The back of my head also has shampoo or conditioner still in it, like it wasn't washed out properly. I haven't stopped crying and now have to figure a way to get this fixed it's so bad read more

This is the best salon I've been to in my 31 years on this earth. I normally did not care what salon I went to; I just went for maintenance cuts. But today, I decided to switch it up and went to them since they're very LGBT-friendly and probably knew more about the style I wanted than say, Supercuts (the Hime haircut)... Sara was amazing and knew EXACTLY what a hime cut is (not many stylists understand the variances or nuances; she DID). She is the best stylist I've ever had. She was very warm, friendly, funny and I felt really relaxed around her. My haircut came out exactly how I wanted it to come out and my hair is much healthier after she did her work. She gave me advice to fix my bangs since I have a cowlick at the front of my forehead. She also gave me recommendations about hair growth and health. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it! She also works on textured hair (a stylist who knows how to work on multiple hair types is a relief). Would highly highly recommend especially if you're alt, goth, punk, LGBT, want unnatural colors, need a new look, or just want some REALLY good stylists. I cannot recommend this place enough. read more

I needed a side shave trim and a haircut but wanted a place that was LGBTQ forward. I like that this salon is no BS. Stylists are friendly and I felt welcome. I got in with Blake on a Friday night and was in and out in an hour. Parking can be difficult -- I snagged one of the last spots thankfully but plenty of surrounding street parking if you can't get in the lot. read more

Words can not express my happiness. Tracy did an amazing job with getting my dark brown hair to a gorgeous blue. She went above and beyond for me. I'm sorry, but no. My daughter is quiet and extremely shy wouldn't say anything to upset people hence is why I was there, I didn't argue with my daughter as I know my daughter. The first thing your stylist did was chop 4 inches, we both specifically asked that she does not want a Bob, not once, not twice but 3 times, your other stylist saw me and asked if I was ok, and I let her know she's cutting a Bob which is exactly what she didn'tI want, you stepped in after the haircut was "done" and I did let her know that a Bob was not at all what she wanted and I told you, you then let her know to give it layers with a razor. I'm allowed to speak up for my daughter, like it or not. The pictures speak for themselves. Looks like she cut it herself. I was even nice enough to actually pay for it. BTW my daughter hates it just to shy to let her know or hurt her feelings, but knew I would hear it. read more

I'm normally not one to complain or leave a review, but I am very upset with the ending of my haircut. I got my haircut beginning/ mid of October, I made an appointment online and it said $25, all I got was a trim on my bangs and trim on my layers. I didn't select a stylist because I have never been there before so I allowed them to choose a stylist for me, and she/they were kind. (I don't remember their pronouns or their name) but I am upset at what they did to my hair. They complimented on how thick my hair was and I let it be known that I LOVE my thick hair and it's my favorite part about it even if it does get easily tangled. I also said I did not want a shag but i did want my layers shorter and maybe a bit messier. After they finished cutting my bangs they told me they thinned them out which WAS NOT what I wanted at all, and a week later I found out that the rest of my hair was also pretty thinned out too. It was not thick like it used to and it became flat. I met with my original stylist and she questioned what I did to my hair and why it was cut so roughly and unevenly and I became more upset right after she told me what was wrong with my hair. Now I could be wrong, maybe the photos I showed to my stylist showed thinner hair since I did want to go for more of an emo/scene look, but I was focusing more on the bangs and not the whole hair, but I would have liked a heads up about the thinning the hair out, because I had told them that I liked the thickness of it I just wanted more texture? Or more control over my hair. After my haircut I still smiled and complimented it because normally I like to shower and see how my hair looks after I get it cut, but even arriving home both my parents gave me a concerned look and asked if I liked it. I am not here to sh*t on the stylist but at the end of the haircut as well I was charged 40 dollars for just a trim and I was not even at their station for more then 15 minutes. They used regular scissors on me and didn't do a style or anything, and on the website it said $25 dollars so I just feel bamboozled. The conversations me and my stylist had were nice and we where cool, i'm just upset as a whole about my hair and the price. my hair was already a bit below shoulders length and I don't see why it had to be $40. read more

Went in for a cut, this salon was the only place I felt like was the best fit for my needs, coming in I was feeling a little anxious since its been a while I had my last haircut but was given a warm greeting immediately by staff and I felt better, had my hair done by marylou and she was amazing! I guess I didn't pass the cool enough test with Ashley because she never replied back to me regarding a consultation. I bought 2 full sets of Dreadful Hippie extensions and was looking for someone to install them for me (just one set). I've had K-Tip extensions many, many times but braid-in dreads are totally new to me. I was referred to Ashley and reached out about making an appointment. Ashley was very unfriendly from the start. No "hi", just send me a picture of your hair, the extensions and what's your budget (strange). I sent her pics of me and the extensions but wasn't sure what to say about the budget question (I've never been asked that before) so I asked her if it would be better if I came in for a consult. She said "yes, and bring the extensions." However, she gave me one date and time. When I stated that unfortunately that wasn't a good time for me, I never heard back from her (it's been a week now). Maybe Ashley is so busy that she doesn't need anymore new clients. Whatever the case, I thought she was very unprofessional and rude. I feel that if you don't look like the girls in the salon's Yelp pics, they don't want your business. ****This is in response to the owner's reply. I appreciate you taking the time to reply to my review. This isn't an issue of not having the right contact information or expecting her to text me during her time off or not offering alternative dates. I asked her for alternative dates and times and haven't heard from her since. I actually have the texts between us. I first text her on Thursday 5/16 at 12:24 pm. She responded to me at 6:04 pm. I couldn't come in the next day (Friday) in the afternoon ("around 4 or 4:30"). It's been a week since our texts. That's more than enough time to get back to a potential client. To be clear, I don't expect anyone to contact me on their day off or during their personal time. Also, we are all busy and make time for what's important to us. Being your own business has its challenges which I completely understand and empathize with. If she was interested in doing my hair, she would have got back to me already. I'm not going to dox myself here on Yelp, but my husband knows Ashley and her boyfriend personally (R*****G******). My husband reached out to her boyfriend first. He said to contact Ashley on her X personal number. When he did, Ashley told him to have me text her about making an appointment. She knows exactly who I am and who my husband is. If it weren't for this, I would also think this was just an accident or missed connection. I don't appreciate being gaslighted about this situation. I will not elaborate any further. Sara is so, so great at pinks + coppers. I've been to her twice now, and both times she was incredibly personable and competent. I am gonna say that my color came out really good and my stylist was 30 minutes late (which was fine). Unfortunately, my hair was cut shorter than I wanted and the back was super uneven. I spent like $200 between my cut and color. I want to also mention that my friend left a review on my behalf (without my knowledge) and the owner was rude to him, which is really unprofessional. I don't mind spending money on my hair, but i was really disappointed with it, and I don't have a ton of money to spend on stuff like that, especially if it's not going to come out the way I want. My stylist, Ashlee was very nice, and had great customer service skills. Edit: I did not get a shagged out wolfcut or hug my stylist, and the fact that Ashlee has been THAT late several times kind of sucks. My review isn't under a fake name, it's under my deadname since this is an old account. I tipped 20% because I didn't get to see the back of my head and my stylist was nice. Im incredibly disappointed in the lack of professionalism and the calling me a liar for having an uneven cut. I'm sure Ashlee is a great stylist, she just messed up my hair. I wasn't even gonna leave a bad review, but the way you responded to my friend was ridiculous. edit 2: I think you're continuing to assume that I am someone Im not, but this is the first review I've left, and as stated previously, I never ASKED my friend to leave a review. they did without my knowledge and came to me upset about your response. i wasn't really mad about Ashlee being late, and she was really nice, so I wasnt going to leave a bad review, I just wasn't going to come back in the future because of the haircut. I never hugged my stylist, and she stopped me and handed me a stack of business cards, I didn't ask for them. Your stylists were vaping and when I initially came in one was hitting her vape while I asked her something, which is unprofessional. my review disappeared from google so i'm moving it here. yes both reviews are under an alias. such an unfortunate experience, I have a hard time going to salons because I never find someone who will give me what i want. this time was no different and started crying in the chair. stylist couldn't figure out how my hair was fucked up even though me and my girlfriend were both explaining to her how to fix it. i was given a solid unit of bangs that looked like a bowl. she buzzed the back of my head so fast when that's nothing like the picture i showed. i went out and bought bandanas after because of how terrible i look. i cried for hours. i'm so sad everyday. please save your time and find someone who will listen to you instead of someone who isn't confident enough and makes excuses. Edit: Not leaving false information, I just had a bad experience and didn't feel the need to name drop your stylist. I'm sure if you ask them you'll be able to figure out who it was and when I came in. Nothing needs to be rectified as she didn't want me to pay because I was so upset. I hadn't been to a salon in 5 years and Sam truly made me love going again. She's very blunt (my hair was VERY dead and chopped off by my friends and I through the years and she didn't hesitate to tell me what I needed to hear) but so friendly and gave the best suggestions. She suggested a cut I wouldn't have thought of and I really love my hair for the first time in a while. I think we took off about 6-8 inches and I was very confident in what she was doing. I got my hair trimmed professionally for the first time in over a year. For the first time professionally and in a salon in over 3 years. I was SO nervous, especially because I was planning to get tiny layers to make the ends flow and move better rather than JUST a trim. The dye left visible staining along my hairline, temples/sideburn area, and behind my ears, which I wasn't informed about until after everything was done and I saw it in the mirror. The stylist did try to remove it, but it didn't come off easily, so I left with noticeable staining on my skin. I understand that things can happen, especially with different products, but I do wish there had been more communication in the moment and a more thorough final check/cleanup before I left the salon, especially since the staining was visible in multiple areas. Unfortunately, I'm not very comfortable waiting for it to fade on its own, and I'm also not inclined to return for a future service. Overall, I think this place has a lot going for it, but I hope they can improve the finishing process and post-service support so clients don't leave with unexpected issues. I tend to write more detailed reviews about hair salons because my hair has always been a big deal for me. I have very curly, frizzy, coarse hair that tends to puff up and look much fuller than it actually is. It is definitely not the kind of curly hair that naturally falls into pretty, defined curls. Without blow-drying or straightening, it can get very unruly and hard to manage. I have been dealing with this hair for decades, so I have had more haircuts, blowouts, straightening treatments, and salon visits than I can count. Because of that, I can usually tell when someone really understands how to work with difficult curly hair. I wore short hair when I was younger, but after a bad experience, I avoided it for decades. About six months to a year ago, I decided to try a bob again. At first, I felt like the only way I could really manage it was by getting a straightening treatment about every six months. Since I also color my hair, I did not want to keep combining coloring and chemical straightening because of the damage it can cause over time. I decided to keep coloring my hair and stop the straightening treatments. Once more of my natural curl started growing back, though, the bob became harder and harder for me to manage. I was honestly starting to think I might have to give up on short hair and grow it out again. That was around the time I found this salon. What has impressed me most is how much easier my bob has been to manage since coming here, even without going back to regular straightening treatments. I am not especially skilled at styling my own hair, but after shampooing, I can now blow-dry and straighten it at home much more easily. The cut itself makes a huge difference. It also grows out really well, which is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. -- What really stands out to me is how well Risa listens. -- At every visit, she takes the time to ask how my previous haircut worked for me, what I liked, and whether there is anything I would like to change. I really appreciate that she listens to my feedback instead of simply repeating the same cut. I loved the shape of my last bob, but the back had been cut very short with clippers. Because my hair is coarse and pretty stiff, those very short hairs felt uncomfortable against the back of my neck as they grew out. Since I had not worn my hair this short in decades, I simply did not know my hair would react that way. I mentioned it to Risa, and this time she adjusted the cut and used mainly scissors and thinning shears instead of cutting the back so closely with clippers. I really appreciated that she listened to both what I liked about the previous cut and what I wanted changed. Most importantly, I love my bob again. The shape is clean, balanced, flattering, and very easy for me to manage. I also enjoyed the shampoo service. The brief scalp massage felt really relaxing and refreshing, and the salon itself always has a calm, comfortable atmosphere. My husband had his haircut again too, and his cut came out clean and polished, just like the previous visits. After three visits, it definitely does not feel like we simply got lucky once. The results have been consistently good for both of us. For me, a haircut that grows out well and stays manageable for two or three months, sometimes close to four, is absolutely worth the investment. Being able to maintain my bob this easily without relying on regular straightening treatments makes it even more valuable. That is why I keep coming back, and why I take the time to leave reviews. After our third visit, I feel even more confident recommending Risa.

For me it was about $80 for a wolf cut and $600 for a full bleach and colors for me. I only did the haircut for now, as the color price was way too much out of my budget. After the message, I did the booking online at their website, which was pretty simple to do, and the deposit was only $30. I came in and was greeted by someone right away and led to the back to get a robe on over my clothes and then right away to the shampooing station. Then hop on to the salon chair. I showed my stylist the inspo pictures I wanted, and he got to cutting right away. Now, I'm painfully shy, and I've usually been to other salons where everyone is talking and the stylists are chatty, but here it is super quiet. So it wasn't a good salon for me, as I find it hard to speak up unless spoken to first, but everyone was nice, and the haircut was fine and pretty fast. If you want a quick and quiet haircut for a decent price, I would go here.

We had called 15mins after they had opened and we were able to be seen asap! We were given a clipboard to mark our hair concerns and selected what treatment we wanted. I thought I could get away with not marking the long hair bc it's an extra $10 but that's okay. I needed to treat myself dammit! When we were ready we were directed over to chairs where we were told to remove any necklaces or jewelry that would get in the way and a basket was given to us to store our belongings. We walked over to the hair wash stations and laid down. The lighting was dim and music was calm. It was thee place to chill us out! I hadn't washed my hair in 3 days and I was long overdue for a wash! The lady who took care of me was gentle and asked how the water temp and pressure was. She was cautious with the comb, too. I didn't experience any tugging or tangling. The lady lather rinsed and repeated and she would apply extra pressure around my scalp which felt nice. Afterwards, a warm towel was placed over my eyes. The lady began to massage my head and neck, moved me to the left and then over to the right. I wanted to fall asleep bc I was relaxed and at ease. When the washing and massage time was up, our hair was wrapped up and we were brought over to the drying area. We were given another massage that involved our neck, upper back and shoulders. We were given tea and a cookie and we sat under hands free hairdryer which was so cool! Like I can use both my hands to help dry my hair?! So innovative! So efficient! Like I want one for myself now! The lady asked us if we needed any hair products to dry our hair but they didn't have my root lift serum. My hair dried fast and I was able to sip my tea and destress. Yasss. Overall, it was a great "treat yo self" experience. The lady who helped me was kind and gentle, the service was great and our scalps felt clean and our hair smelled good! Reasonably priced for Vegas! I would definitely come back again and do the scalp analysis session if ever I'm in the area again.

As a Black stylist specializing in textured hair and sew-ins, I often felt that I and my clientele were treated differently and subjected to a level of scrutiny that made me increasingly uncomfortable. There were occasions when I was placed in overflow styling areas that I had not selected, and I felt as though my interactions with my clients were being closely monitored. One of the most troubling issues was being written up because of language used by my clients during their appointments. My clients were adults having normal conversations while receiving services, yet I was held responsible for their behavior. This occurred multiple times and ultimately contributed to my relationship with the salon ending. What made the experience particularly disappointing was that I was paying to operate from the space. I expected to be treated as a professional and paying customer of the business, but instead I frequently felt unwelcome and singled out. Based on my personal experience and the pattern of interactions I encountered, I felt that race, cultural differences, and the type of clientele I served affected how I was treated. Ultimately, leaving was for the best. I did not feel that the environment was inclusive or supportive of me as a Black stylist serving predominantly textured-hair clients. I would not personally recommend Look Style Society to stylists looking for a salon environment where they feel comfortable operating their business and serving a diverse clientele.

My "senior stylist," Evelyn, wasn't available until 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. During that wait, I was offered water once, but I repeatedly had to ask how much longer it would be because the staff kept saying "soon" without giving me any actual estimate. When the appointment finally started, I showed Evelyn a reference photo and clearly explained my daily hair routine. I told her I don't use styling products, don't heat style my hair, and simply wash it and let it air dry. Instead of cutting my hair to suit that lifestyle, she used texturizing products and spent a significant amount of time styling it. I even mentioned that I would never recreate that styling at home because it isn't part of my routine. The finished haircut looked nothing like the reference photo. At the time, the heavy styling disguised just how bad the cut actually was. The salon gave me a $20 new-client discount, and I specifically told them to apply that amount toward the stylist's tip. Instead, they processed a separate $21.18 tip. While it's not the biggest issue in this experience, it was not what I authorized. The real disaster became apparent after I washed my hair at home. The styling products had been hiding an incredibly poor haircut. The layers are uneven and completely unblended. There are obvious chunks of hair missing, and the entire cut sits lopsided. It is nothing like what I requested or what I was shown in the mirror after it had been heavily styled. I'm now left with a haircut that is genuinely embarrassing to wear and will likely require another stylist to spend months correcting. Between the excessive wait, poor communication, unauthorized tip charge, and one of the worst haircuts I've ever received, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. I absolutely cannot recommend this salon.

Sinister Salon is an absolute gem! Shan does my hair, and she's a total artist--whether it's a cut, a tricky color correction, or blonding services, she nails it every time. I've had cuts, color corrections, and blonding work done with Shan, and she's incredibly skilled at getting the color just right while keeping my hair healthy and beautiful. I always leave feeling amazing, and I get so many compliments on my hair! I've also received waxing services from Kryssi, and she's equally fantastic--quick, precise, and she makes the whole process comfortable and easy. What I really love about Sinister Salon is the vibe. It's so cool--welcoming, a little quirky, and just the right amount of spooky. It's not your average salon; it's a place where you actually want to hang out. All of the employees are genuinely friendly, and you can tell they all get along. They'll chat with you, offer recommendations, and you can feel that everyone enjoys being there. I scheduled a hair appointment and confirmed the details with my stylist a day before my appointment. However, an hour before my appointment, I was asked to come in 90 minutes later. I explained that this change would cause me to incur rescheduling fees for other commitments. When I requested a discount to offset those fees, I was denied. It seems unfair that clients face steep cancellation fees, yet the salon can request last-minute changes without consideration for our schedules. I'm a long nail girl and go to Jess for my all my nail needs. I like bougie and complicated designs on my nails and Jess is the first person I've gone to that does them exactly how I want. I've gotten a couple of sets from her that literally look like it cost me $400-500. I always get compliments on my nails no matter where I go and Jess is so kind and patient. I've bumped my wet nails before they've cured a bunch a time and she never says anything, she just redoes it. For that patience, I am grateful. read more

Absolutely love this place. I always go here for my root touch ups but seeing the variety of styles they're able to do here is something I wish we'd see more in the cosmetology scene. I got my hair done yesterday by zowie and she's the best! She always does my hair exactly how I want and is so sweet. I plan on coming back to get my nails done too since they offer all kinds of services 10/10 definitely recommend. I trust this place especially when it comes to more alternative styles. ^_^ read more

I tried sinister salon because a friend mentioned them in passing. They had a lot of available appointments because they're open pretty late for a salon. I ended up booking with Shan and they were so great. Not only was she super friendly but she gave me the best cut, I've always hated my hair and this is the first style that I've absolutely loved.
