It was the most stressful time of our life from beginning to the end, very small job took almost three weeks of working and us waiting. The worse part was the owners attitude. Every mistake was either our fault to the border movement from a day before therefore there is space between the pavers and boarder. any excuse except accepting the problem, two weeks after finally they came over and redid the pavers. we asked him to come over and see the work instead we would get long text regarding us being wrong. accused us of lying not having picture but he would not come over to see, accused us of smoking marijuana when we send picture to him with problems, he was rude, sending many insulting long text at one point telling us leave the work to professionals but his professionals had to redo the work and still some pavers so close to each other some way away from each other. They did a much better job than the first ones The worse part was the owner's response to problems and attitude. some problem with sand blasted to pavers and he offered to send workers to fix it but we don't want to have anything to do with them anymore. read more

If I could give 10 stars on a 5-star scale, I would! It's rare to find a contractor who not only meets but exceeds expectations. Sione's Concrete Construction did just that. They removed parts of our driveway, patio, and backyard paths, and poured 15 yards of concrete. During the estimate, Sione could have easily recommended unnecessary replacements--we wouldn't have known the difference. Instead, he pointed out that some cracks were only surface-level and didn't need replacing. That kind of honesty is invaluable. Every night they cleaned up like they were done, and not coming back. The last day they power washed all concrete because of the lawn. Very fastidious. Throughout the project, any concern we had was met with the same response: "We want you to be happy--we'll fix it."And they always did. We were so impressed that we asked for a quote to replace our sprinkler system and install new sod. They hauled away multiple dump truck loads of old soil and replaced it with fresh soil. When one sprinkler proved stubborn, they spent seven hours troubleshooting before finally running a new wire to resolve it. We were also concerned about lingering roots in the soil. Without hesitation, Sione said, "No problem--we'll rototill it and get them out." Alex and Angel worked on both projects over about three weeks, and they were absolutely outstanding--hardworking, kind, and always cheerful. After buying a new home with a narrow driveway and sharp drop to our street, my wife and I were concerned about damage to our cars when entering and exiting. I contacted Sione's Concrete Construction, and Sione quickly returned my call on a Saturday morning offering to meeting within the hour to review. When we met, Sione evaluated the driveway and provided a couple options. I chose the more comprehensive option to remove and replace the entire driveway. This would ensure a more gentle and smooth slope to the street and add width to allow us to park both cars. Sione advised me on the permitting process and timeframe to complete. He also understood we were moving into our home shortly, so he expedited the permitting and project schedule to complete the work as soon as possible. After the permit was approved, the construction team began demolition. In preparation, Sione proactively researched the site conditions and noted some below grade utilities that required coordination, so that there were no surprises and those utilities were perfectly coordinated into the new construction. Throughout the demolition and construction, the team was very professional and hard working. Sione visited regularly, staying closely connected while work was underway. He also kept me updated frequently. The work proceeded quickly, after which the driveway had to cure. Because of the week duration to cure, we did not have a way to park both cars along our busy street. Sione went above and beyond to allow me to temporarily park one car at his shop until curing completed. And then while it was still curing, some heavy truck drove onto the driveway. This damaged the newly installed asphalt adjacent to the driveway. Without me asking, Sione noticed it and contacted me offering to correct because of the impact. I would assume few companies would demonstrate that pride of work and integrity as did Sione. His team dug a trench through our concrete back yard, then after the electrician put the conduit in the trench, his team filled it in and replaced the 50 year old fence with a nice looking new fence. Sione and team just replaced the base of our driveway including installation of a drainage pipe. We were very impressed by the level of communication, great service, and outcome of the job. I would highly recommend this team. Details: We recently bought our house and there was a 3-4 inch lip from the driveway into the garage, which made it impossible to drive our cars in without damaging our bumpers. We tried a polyurethane lift with another company and it didn't work. Sione explained how he could replace the bottom of the driveway, replace the drain, and secure the new concrete into the home foundation with rebar so that it would never sink again. It's a much bigger job than what we had hoped to do, and I had a lot of questions, which he patiently and thoughtfully answered. He did a good job explaining and setting my expectations (and I am very detail oriented!). His team was on time, professional, and very precise with their work. We have a garage that originally had its driveway and entry door built on the side rather than facing the street. It was right at the edge of the property and the lack of clearance made it a nightmare to try and park or backout two vehicles. After finally obtaining city approval to reorient our driveway, we needed to find a concrete specialist who could install a new driveway using pavers, fill-in a wide floor area for the new entry to the garage and build a new sidewalk and apron in front of the driveway. There was also a slope problem in the garage that needed to be taken into account. We met with several contractors who could do different parts of the project but not all of it because of the scope requirements. Our driveway apron needed to be replaced due to the concrete crumbling and cracking. I had reached out to the City of San Carlos to participate in its sidewalk replacement program where the City and the homeowner split the cost of the sidewalk repairs 50%/50%. The City's contractor estimated the cost to repair the damaged concrete at $5,500 (this was about 40% of the driveway apron frontage), but that we would have to be put on the waiting list where there were 40 other families were ahead of us. I reached out to Sione's and another contractor for estimates to compare to the City's estimate. Sione's estimate included replacing the entire driveway apron as well as softening the angle of the driveway so that our cars would not scrape as they entered/exited the driveway. Even with the City's discount, if we would have had the City's contractor do all of the repair/replacement work, it would have been 20% more than Sione's estimated cost and we would still be waiting for them to get to us on the list. We love our new driveway apron, granted it is not quite as "sexy" as a kitchen or master bathroom remodel, but I smile every time I enter/exit our driveway. Sione is wonderful. Prior to Sione we added an A/C to our house which meant current code updates that included digging ditches from the sidewalk to side garage door entry. Ditches were dug and new lines were run. Then ditches were filled and the work was 'done.' What about the prior pavers and cement paths that had been torn up and excess stuff had been hauled away? That was our problem. "We don't know how to replace pavers." A friend recommended Sione. Thank goodness!!! The crew did a beautiful job. I hired Discount Plumbing to replace broken sewer line. Jason, Discount Plumbing is aware my garage door had 1" bump to stop water before Sione started the job. I did not have any water or rodent issues. All I asked was to replace channel drain 18" away from garage door. It was Sione's suggestion to replace concrete at the garage door. I did not ask him to remove concrete at the garage door. The concrete could do without removing at the garage door so water and rodents problem may not be occurred. I hired Sione's Concrete for $6k concrete work because Sione was confident no water could enter into the garage. Immediately after the job was done, the rain water entered into the garage in December, 2019. I contacted Sione about water intrusion. He blamed the garage door seal need to be replaced to stop water intrusion even though I have never had water or rodents issues. I followed his suggestion and replaced bottom garage door seal for $225 at my cost. 5/24/21, I showed Sione how lots of mice and rats entered through 1" hole at the garage door metal frame footing. Both of my fingers easily slide through bottom of garage door seal. That's how mice and rats enters through the bottom of new garage seal. Sione said he did with industry standard the" flat surface" where two surface met at garage door is to code. However, he couldn't show me code requirements. I felt I'm talked down by Sione I'm not better than his 5 years old. He repeated to me again and again "My 5 years old son could mix concrete and patch the hole. You could do it, too." He won't patch holes. He said he won't fix rodent issue. I did not ask him to fix rodent issue. I was expect him to fix his concrete work. Sione asked I hire someone to patch concrete at 1" x 1.5 " hole where garage door metal frame exposed due to Sione lowered the concrete floor." I was very frustrated with months of mice and rats did lots of damage. Eating 15 lbs of black sun flower seeds and chewed sheetrock. In order to stop rodents intrusion, I was advised by garage door company to get rodent proof garage door seal and patch hole with concrete that cost of $900.25. 2 guys spent more than 3 hours for the job. Sione refused to pay for it. On 6/8/21, I confirmed with Valentino Mandapat, Deputy Building Official a small bump is allowed at the garage door floor by code if it's to stop water intrusion. What Sione's claimed the code is only allowed FLAT surface at the garage door isn't correct. It's not true Sione claimed I asked for 2" high at the two surface meet. After months of rodents intrusion, I observed why the mice/rats keep entering my garage. If Sione keep the original 1 inch bump high at my garage door, there won't be any problem. It was Sione's suggestion to replace all concrete in front of garage door. I guess he wanted bigger job? The problem is Sione made the surface too low so that water and rodents entered to the garage. The footing garage door metal frame exposed 1" x 1.5" hole, bottom of garage door not fully touched the ground so that the rain water and rodents entered through the garage door. I'm very frustrated by mice/rats last few months. I'm scared to walk to rooms and encountered mice/rats. The garage smells strong rat and mice urine. It's scary scene I heard them chewing things. Jumping up and down. Very hard to catch them. I bought metal, glue traps and poison. I thought I caught all of them. More return. Sione threatened if I posted negative comments to smear his company and character, based on misunderstanding, he would sue me for defamation character. All my statements are true. I have no interest in defamation of character but stating the truth. read more

When the forms were poured, they chose to score some of them to prevent cracking. I'll cut to the chase: Sione and his team are simply top-notch. Expert knowledge, thoughtful planning, fair pricing, timely completion, and a friendly demeanor. We had a terrible drainage situation in the back yard of our new house -- uneven brick "pavement" (bricks jammed into the dirt) with no drainage at all, so when it rained water pooled in the middle and sat for days. The wooden retaining walls were beginning to rot, too. We weren't sure exactly what we wanted to do except FIX THE DRAINAGE and FIX THE WALL. We got a quote from another contractor that made our eyes pop |O.O| -- way out of line with our expectations. To top it off, that contractor wouldn't be available to do the work until several months later. Then we met with Sione. He was a breath of fresh air. He not only listened to what we wanted to accomplish (FIX THE DRAINAGE and FIX THE WALL), but also asked us thoughtful questions about how we wanted to use the space, what visual style we might prefer, and what other things we might be thinking of doing down the line (not to sell us anything, just to understand whatever big picture we might have in mind). Love our new patio by Sione's Concrete Construction. We had an old wooden deck and Sione's team had it removed and replaced with a gorgeous hardscape patio and for a reasonable price. We also had very large tree roots encroaching on our home's foundation and they were removed to accommodate a perfect patio. The recent heavy rains proved that our new patio also drains perfectly. Everything about our project went smoothly, and the outcome was perfect. Sione's recommendations meant we were able to plan, price, and complete our back yard remodel very quickly and prepare our house for sale. He and his team totally transformed the space for a reasonable amount of money and it was beautiful! They started on time, hit their job milestones, and finished early, and the team left the job site neat as a pin every day. The job required slight adjustments as we went along (we had to accommodate a neighbor's french drain, the wall needed to be higher, and we needed another light), and Sione explained everything clearly so that we were very comfortable. Sione even sent a team back to our house after the job was over because they forgot to reattach a guy wire and we didn't know how. That's amazing! An AWESOME - local family business I would use again!!! They love what they do and do it with pride - Plus they just are really nice people to work with....their crews were just good people who strove to ensure the job got done as needed. We have 2 adjacent proprieties - One property needed all the 40+ old concert drive and walk way replaced - plus adding a new patio area - the other needing new areas added to already in place concrete areas - Sione and Paul worked with us to help us understand what would work in the areas, plus brought their ideas and expertise to really upgrade the properties. Sione and his crew are everything you want in a concrete team. They are professional, friendly, timely, ardordable, cleaned up after themselves and went above and beyond to accommodate my requests. My project was to grade about 500sq ft section of the back yard to prep for grass and add a small patio. Sione personally spent time with me to help me understand the different patterns and colors of concrete. The end result looks fantastic. Above and beyond: On the day of the concrete pour I realized I needed a water pipe and conduit for sprinklers to go into the concrete and Sione's crew worked with me to get it in before they poured.
