I hired Eric (owner of Paverscaping) for a concrete project that needed to be completed before the rainy season. We discussed scope and schedule in late September, and he confirmed multiple possible start dates (October 15 or 22). I was clear about my timing constraints and remained patient for over a month while waiting for him to begin. Throughout that period, Eric repeatedly reassured me that he could start soon but kept delaying by one week after another week until the end of October -- most recently confirming just two days before the scheduled start that he could do the work that week. Then, without warning, he abruptly canceled the entire project, citing "schedule conflicts." This last-minute cancellation left me with no time to find a replacement before the weather turns, wasting several weeks of planning and communication. I had been polite and flexible the entire time, but unfortunately the experience showed a complete lack of professionalism and reliability. They drove all the way out here from San Mateo and provided the absolute best customer service and quality turf install - I had a high ask to him, to give me a quote the same-day and install before the next weekend (as we are throwing a party and wanted to have the turf installed before then). He did all that and more with care and lots of cleaning up (which is not something most contractors do well - they sometimes leave a mess). He gave the quote quick and started work the next week and finished our project in just TWO days. Much quicker than he quoted and went out of his way with some unique requests we had for him - went above and beyond to take care of us. Eric provides outstanding thoughtful service. I had over dozen cracks in my sidewalk due to tree roots growing underneath. Several contractors said the only way to fix the problem was to remove and replace 40 feet of sidewalk. Eric assessed the situation and suggested a combination of grinding small lips and using packed asphalt for the larger cracks. Our backyard was in terrible condition, just dirt: they installed pavers for our backyard, along with white pebbles for an area with trees and plants. They re-routed an existing irrigation line to make sure our plants were still watered. In addition they had to shorten some downspouts. We also had our front yard ripped out, with bark (for our dog) and white pebbles. Here as well, they took out our existing sprinklers and put in an irrigation drip line. I went to yelp looking for someone who can: (1) fix my artificial lawn that had developed an area of linear elevation and (2) replace a few hideous tree rings that started to come apart. I reach out to multiple artificial lawn installers. Most of them either do not offer repair or only if the lawn was installed by them. Heavenly Green wanted to charge me $500 just to come by to take a look and credit me back only when I decide to use them. My installer (Black Diamond) took 2 weeks before coming over and pretend they did not see the defect and claimed it would not be under warranty. Another installer sent a representative over, gave me a quote, and two weeks later, raise the quote by $200. Then I found PaverScaping. My prayer was answered. Eric, the owner, came by the next day and gave me a quote that beat my original quote. We only have to sign a simple straightforward one-page contract explaining the scope of work. The following week, he and his crew completed the project in a timely manner.
