This humane society is an absolute disgrace! We wanted their help in catching a feral kitten stuck in my husbands truck. We live in Centerville. She said they would come down, only we had to contact law enforcement and law enforcement had to call them. WHAT?! Are you people there to help or not! You don't sound like it! Oh, she said we could drive 40 miles up, rent a trap, drive 40 miles back home, trap the kitten, then drive 40 miles back up and 40 miles back home! I TOLD YOU THE KTTEN WAS STUCK!! LISTEN!! Apparently they charge the city if they have to come down a get a kitten out of an engine! OMG! They don't open until midday, obviously not enuff staff. Then close early. They don't even offer a room to drop off strays after hours! They are NOT there to give help! Money, money, money! That's your true purpose!! read more

I'm so grateful for the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society for bringing Rusty into my life. The process was so easy and the staff was super supportive. I really appreciated that they sent us home with a small bag of food and some toys to help us start out. It made it so much easier to spend quality time bonding with him rather than worrying about getting him everything he needed. read more

They want to control what you do with any pet they "let you" adopt. They think they know more about pets than anyone. I wouldn't recommend even considering this group. They even want to tell you what you need to do with your current pets to get another through them.... read more

My guess the reason for not allowing out os state adoption is they would have to provide a health certificate. They probably have a reason not to provide one. read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had at a homemade Society we went in there and the lady actually made my fiance cry because we got denied because we just moved out here and we have a great place to live they are very rude and disrespectful the manager especially I would go somewhere else I would drive to a different state to get a different animal over this place read more

No open visitations. Must fill out invasive application to even see animals. They will give asinine canned saying such as oh it's better for the animals or how they have more than 400 volunteers. None of which are factual and still is detrimental to those of us that simply want to see animals without giving info or considering adopting. read more
