We were restoring our 1930's home and found beautiful white oak hardwood floors under the dilapidated 1970's carpet. Don was able to sand it all down and stained it beautifully. He even replaced a few boards that had termite damage. The hardwood is one of the best features of the house and we're so glad we decided to restore it instead of cover it up with more carpet. Don's work was excellent and has stood the test of time through two rentals with dogs already. Will definitely use him again if the opportunity allows!

So, we removed the floors ourselves and hired Don to refinish them. He spent a week meticulously and diligently replacing a couple of damaged planks, sanding and applying the clear coat on the bedroom floors to match the rest of floors throughout the house. The refinished floors look amazing and they match perfectly with the rest of the house. In all, I can strongly recommend Don without any reservation to anyone looking for a flooring contractor. He's a genuine master craftsman you can trust to get the job done. We'll be bringing him back to refinish the rest of the house once we are done with our remodeling project.

We needed a shower renovation after another contractor failed to waterproof the backer boards five…read moreyears earlier. The Tile and Grout King only offers the Schluter-Kerdi shower system (no hot mop/mortar bed). We chose this system because it provides waterproof sheeting (unlike our previous build) and doesn't require weep holes in the drain (which clogged in our previous shower, allowing water to wick beneath the tiles and leave puddles on the floor). The system's reliability depends heavily on the installer's technique, and Tile & Grout King is certified and has used this system for six years. Jordan, our PM for the job, was great. He gave us estimates and timelines, scheduled work within a few days, and completed the rebuild in 2 1/2 weeks. Jordan oversaw the delivery of supplies and removal of old debris (including the previous glass walls, which didn't fit because the profile of the mosaic accent trim we chose wasn't level). He met with the crews and us multiple times during the build to ensure we were all aligned on what was required. We had two crews working on the job. The demolition crew, Jose and Juan, finished the demo work in two days. They were extremely careful with their work, protecting the floors, sinks, and tub, and not damaging tiles on the tub deck wall so that they could be reused. They showed us where the previous install had failed (where the mortar bed was too close to the top of the drop and where the moisture vapor retarder was waterlogged). The second crew, Noe and Carlos, also did a great job. On a couple of days, they worked overtime to keep the job on schedule and to allow a full 48-hour water pan test over the weekend. They made suggestions on tile placement, such as extending the tile to the ceiling, and broadening the access trim to avoid using thin cuts of the 24" tiles. I was impressed by the professionalism of everyone who worked on this project. Everyone was very friendly and easy to talk to. We plan to call them back to work on our other shower in a couple of weeks.

We live in a new house and wanted a company that could deliver high-quality work matching our home's upscale finishes. The staff was friendly, and we enjoyed working with them. However, we were very disappointed with the outcome. We asked for a very thin line along the joints, but the finished product resulted in thick, uneven grout lines that stood out. For the other bathroom's shower pan, it was recommended to use grout rather than caulk. The grout applied was very uneven and looked as if a black crayon had been used. After spending several hundred dollars, we hired another company to complete the work. We requested another specialist from Grout Kings to handle our project, but they were inflexible and insisted that they could do it correctly. What was initially estimated to cost a few hundred dollars ended up costing a couple of thousand. I cannot recommend Grout Kings, as their work did not meet the quality promised online.

Lessons learnt during the early days of my home construction, I needed someone I could trust; be a high performer; maintain good time keeping; and give me 'what I need instead of what I want', since I learnt that many companies do not prioritise what the client needs, but more about how much they can make off you. Luna did not disappoint. On one occasion Luna were able to pull in the turn-around-time by 2 weeks after the effects of unrelated city/construction delays. I resonated with Luna's work ethic, primarily their transparency and proactiveness. I received great guidance when selecting the finer detail such as grout type/color, and edging, and German would even explain why some of my selections would not be appropriate, or that I could achieve the same effect by choosing comparable materials that were a lot cheaper. Anything that wasn't made clear to Luna was followed-up on by German to ensure we were both in precise alignment. Luna were very structured from their engagement to execution process. The first meeting occurred shortly after first contact, where tile areas were measured to derive the initial quote (and order quantity), and vision was discussed. The second meet was finalisation of the plan and cosmetic accompaniments (grout, edging). Luna completed all of my 2023 new construction: 5 fully tiled rooms, all of very intricate design that included terrazzo, metals, ceramics, porcelain and marble. We had zero transition between tile and wood flooring, several niches, and multi-tile types in the same room. The result was overwhelming. Luna finished my house to the highest standard, as agreed with some construction industry professionals ;) I had so much confidence in the Luna family, that I enlisted them again for 3 further rooms.
