This is not a review on their work, which I'm sure would have been fine. But more on the customer service. I had left two messages on yelp with photos to inquire about services. I also left a voicemail to the business requesting if it was possible for counter top repair on quartz. This was a week ago, and I just received a message saying it cannot be done. I could have been informed that they could not help a week ago, when I called or sent two messages. I just checked, this is the worst Yelp rating I have ever given. But, one of the two main reasons we went with Sureshine, was its great reviews here. And I don't want others to necessarily go into it as naively as I now know I did. The 2nd main reason we decided to move forward with Sureshine was because Steve said he could fix our 'white crush marks' along the seams of several slabs, but.... ⁃ Instead, the white crush marks remain and his technique of adding ager-dye has only made the seam line more prominent by adding a black line to it. It's still hardly noticeable, but it's the opposite of what we hoped for. ⁃ And as Steve explained afterward, his ager-dye is a permanent change, but rather than proceeding with caution, he seems to have applied it to the entire perimeter of all our stones all at once. - I felt like a sucker for believing he could fix it after other folks said not possible, so I didn't blame him at the time, and I still haven't mentioned it up in my prior efforts to get in touch with him... but I can tell from how hard I'm typing right now, that I am not over it. ⁃ But... we feel the real problem with our Sureshine experience is that we noticed a large and centrally located scratch mark the evening after he sealed our stones. We can't say 100% for sure that he caused it, because maybe we just happened to notice it because we were looking closer than usual on the night we had our stones sealed, but... he is making it really hard to give him the benefit of the doubt: ⁃He doesn't returned emails, ⁃He picks up the phone (at a number he had used to call me at least 3 times before to encourage us to proceed with him before-hand), then acts like he can't hear anyone on the line and hangs up. When I called back, he sent me to VM. - He finally responded, and we did one totally painless (and seemingly promising) back/forth, and now nothing since Mar 3. All in all, this is totally disappointing to feel our stones are n worse shape than we when we started, all for the for the cost of $1,250. read more

Steve responded quickly and we set up a call for the next day. He came out Monday afternoon, described in detail what needed to be done, and gave me an on-site estimate. Hired! I definitely would NOT recommend Sureshine for driveway staining! I originally had our driveway stained by Sureshine on June 2, 2017 for $1800. ("Color stain stamped papers and brick, patina appropriately. Apply 2 coats of satin finish.") I then engaged Sureshine to restore our driveway stain on August 3, 2021 for $1200. During the restoration project I clearly communicated that areas showing wear had not been restored. Steve Aguilar agreed to correct. I also mentioned that the treatment smelled like Armor All and looked like Armor All. Steve Aguilar assured me it wasn't Armor All. Within days the finish had worn off (similar to applying Armor All to any surface). Since then it has deteriorated significantly ... more than even before Sureshine had committed to 'restore' it. I contacted Sureshine on Oct 1, Oct 4, Nov 29, Dec 1 and Jan 10. Each time I was assured that the 'owner' Steve Aguilar would contact me to take corrective action. He never did! Its far worse then before Sureshine 'restored' it and I'm out the $1200 that I could have used to find a competent company. read more

Sureshine came to our rescue! The beautiful quartz features are back to their brilliant dazzling sparkle. The granite looks as good as the day it was first installed. Great service reasonably priced and they are capable of crack repairs if needed. Sureshine performed two services in our home a few years back: 1. Clean, seal, and caulk granite countertops 2. Clean and color seal of grout on tile floors 1. We paid extra for the "lifetime" granite sealant. The seal seems to be fine still, but the caulking at the seam behind the kitchen sink has pulled away twice, despite carefully following his directions of keeping it dry for the prescribed time after the service. It was very difficult to get him to return to re-caulk the second time (slow communication, then didn't show for the first appointment), but when he did, we had the same issue of it peeling again. We have tried for over a year to get him to return to re-caulk again. He has said he will do it, but his communication is poor, and he has not returned. At this point, we'll ask another company to do it. 2. We paid extra for the clean and color seal, as we were told it would look pristine for many years. The grout on our tile looked beautiful after completion. We are dissatisfied for two reasons: (1) the grout became discolored again within a year, and (2) the cost we were verbally quoted for re-service was not honored, and the new quote is much higher. I negotiated to get the cost somewhere in the middle (this communication took months due to his slow responses), then when we finally decided to move forward (over two months ago), he has not responded to my email (again). Communication and follow-through has been poor, so we're done doing business with Sureshine. read more

After multiple calls Steve(owner) finally showed up. He seemed nice and understood what product needed to be used to surface the stone material. He gave me a date and said he would be back. That date came and went and he never showed up. I called him and he said he forgot and would be out the following week. 2nd time no show. I gave him a 3rd chance as he said he would be out the next day. He never showed up. I wasn't in a hurry to complete this either. read more

Steve recently did my neighbors counters, showers, etc. His company was there for 2 days and did an amazing job. I had him come and give me a bid, but being the honest businessman that he is he told me I didn't need to do anything. When we bought our house we were looking for someone to bring our stone back to life, it was dull,scratched and had no life. We contacted sureshine to come out and give us an estimate, we spoke with the office and they were very helpful determining what services we needed and scheduled a bid. Steve came out and ran through the project in great detail, we ended up restoring our travertine entry to a high shine, grout staining and sealing the stone. I contacted Tez Marble to find a company to refinish and restore my entry marble. Tez Marble suggested Sureshine Care and Restoration Services in the San Jose and East Bay. Steve Aguilar came to my house and gave me a great bid for my entry marble, bathroom marble and fill the holes in the travertine in our backyard patio. The outdoor travertine, because of the nature of natural stone, developed some holes in the stone and I was concerned they would enlarge. Victor and Francisco arrived on time and were especially careful to mark off the existing rug area and protect the hallway. I watched the video on the website so I knew what to expect in terms of the extensive process. Victor and Francisco are master stone restorers and my damaged marble entryway and bathroom now glistens and have been beautifully restored. Steve came by just to check and make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Actually, I wish I could give six stars and not just five. Steve, Victor and Francisco are perfectionists and both the outdoor Travertine and my entryway and bathroom marble look flawless. They even moved the entry sideboard back into place. We were looking to have three things accomplished: 1) repair of an uplifted and warped (slate) tile ledge for our outdoor gazebo 2) restoration of a chemically etched emporium natural tile in our master bath shower, ruined with an abrasive cleaning product 3) cleaning and sealing of our patio fire pit tables soiled after years of outdoor use. The tiled ledge looks terrific after all of the warped tiles and sublayers were removed, re-installed, and re-grouted, and then sealed. Steve did a masterful job of fixing the ledge. We are quite pleased with the outcome. After the original appointment, two items still required a return visit: The master bath shower -- First off, the chemical damage to the emporium tiles had been completely eliminated and was restored to its original luster by Sureshine Services. However, it still needed a proper deep cleaning following the sanding and sealant application, which was done without hesitation nor discussion once Steve reviewed the condition of the shower. His service technician did a thorough job in cleaning up the residue. It now looks wonderful. One of the patio fire pit tables still showed grime after a cleaning by Sureshine and could not be sealed in the first appointment. Steve and Augustine, returned on a follow up appointment. Steve used a different resurfacing technique and restored the travertine patio fire pit table to its original apprearance, in a way that it has not looked in over 10 years! Steve then applied an "impregnating sealant" to ensure the finish coat would protect our fire pit table for a long time. In conclusion, Steve is a pleasant business owner who strives to ensure that his customers are truly satisfied with his services and the craftsmanship of his technicians. Appreciated the fact that Steve was punctual for all scheduled estimates and work. Moreover, his back office staff, Paige and Summer, are professional in their communications and in their billing procedures. We are very satisfied. My first review - they are that good! The granite around our kitchen sink had a crack more than a foot long and the stone was in multiple pieces. Helen was very responsive and friendly, got us a quote and our appointment set up in two days. Steve and Francisco did the work and they are great. While working the first day they decided it would be best to let it cure so came back the next day even though we were not close to that day's appointment location. I greatly appreciate the quality of the work, the time Steve spent explaining how to mitigate these types of problems in the future, and the enthusiasm he expresses when talking about his work and his team (love this!) For starters I wanna say Steve and his crew of workmen were great truly professionals start to finish. We have a marble entryway and dining area we entertain a lot and the floor were pretty scratched and worn from heavy use. I called Steve to come have a look to see if he could help he was on time for the bid and explained how he could help the look new again. He ground the floors down I was happy the way they put up plastic to protect my belongings. Then they polished them they look like a sheet of glass is on the floor I get so may compliments from my friends they think I put down new marble. I also showed him our kitchen granite that had a couple wine stains and a chip like crack. We just had Sureshine repolished all our first floor stone floors, cleaned the grouts, and sealed and polished our counters. We moved into our custom home in 2001 and had not done this for 16 years. Needless to say, they were dull and stained with a film that we could not properly clean ourselves. After they are finished, the results is amazing! My wife is sooo happy. Not only did they do a fantastic job, the owner and the two workers are super nice people. The job was estimated to be completed in one day. It turned out, because of the poor condition of the kitchen floor, it took them an extra half day to finish. They did not cut corners to try to get it done in one day.
