My 10 year-old daughter expressed interest in taking violin lessons, so I began the search online and through Yelp. I'd actually completely forgotten that we had a nearby guitar center, and didn't think they did violin lessons until I searched their instructors and lo and behold, Miranda popped up on their lessons search page! I sent an email through the site to get more information, and within a few hours, I received a call from Joey who recommended I do a trial session. Miranda's availability is only on Saturdays, and we were fortunate to get in pretty much for the next day (spoke to Joey on a Friday). Parking was ample until he Town Square parking lot, and it was easy to find and get to their Lessons department. My daughter's trial lesson with Miranda began very punctually, and she brought us back to a small private room with soundproofing, two pianos, and multiple seats. Miranda did great with her for her age group and complete lack of musical knowledge. She went over the basics of the parts of the violin and bow, how to hold everything, the strings, and how to properly use the bow on the violin. She sent us home with a few pages from a curriculum book for her to practice. My daughter walked away from the trial very happy and excited to learn more! We appreciated Miranda's positive and kind attitude, as well as her wealth of knowledge. We will be setting up more lessons with her soon, and I will update the review as time goes on!

Spoke to Matt about it, who was kind, patient and professional, and we had to agree that my $100 amp was going to cost about the same to repair it...if able. Ergo, another fine looking physically mint condition piece of equipment has to be replaced and recycled. I have played for over 60 years, have a lot of acoustic instruments and a few of them have suffered due to the Vegas weather. I found one luthier who was quite affordable ... but his bandage style repair work left a lot to be desired. I found another luthier with an astounding reputation ... but was available by appointment only and charged nearly what an instrument cost to do the repairs. Adam Pero is your go to guy for acoustic instrument repair. Anything from a fret buzz to a face split. His prices are reasonable; his work is quick and accurate. While waiting in the lobby for Adam to put some finishing touches on one of my instruments, I was able to observe Neil Smith working on an electric 6-string bass. He was testing the neck from top to bottom playing soft and loud. Then he turned his attention to the pick-ups. There was no question in my mind that he knew exactly what he was doing. I have a Tylor T5z. So far it has no issues, but I know where I will take it for repairs, should that ever become necessary.

I am new to las vegas and went into the shop to talk to them about having work done on my…read moreinstrument They gave me a quote of a 140, some odd dollars.\n On having a custom pick guard, put on which I already had strings, put on, which I already had and having a pickup installation which I bought from them in their shop. We had several discussions including when I took my instrument in to have the work done and how the pickup was gonna make it sound so much better per 6 gun music.\n And what all they were going to do, including a set up pick up installation and Putting a radius in my bridge saddles I called them a little over a week later , which they told me they hadn't started work on my instrument yet , and they called me two days later to tell me it was finished Upon arrival, I noticed that my bridge saddles had a slight radius, and my pick guard was on, but no pickup installation had been performed The lady sitting at the front counter, took my instruments out of my hands and told me they would fix it.I said that's included still in the hundred and forty , some dollar price correct??? They proceeded to tell me they would need an extra one hundred and nine dollars to finish the pickup install I then told them just to give me my pickup , and I would decide if I still wanted to have them do the installation I feel this tactic was your basic bait, and switch, and I ended up paying a $165 for having a pick guard put on which I could have done myself if I wanted to keep my original pickup and a slight radius in the bridge saddles, I know my intonation was on because I had had my base set up with a basic setup, as I explained to them a few weeks before deciding to have them do more work. They tried to sew me one of their replacement necks. They have their, and then after I told them, I hadn't decided on what kind of neck I would replace on my instrument, they gave me the price quote and I asked them if all work including pickup installation would be performed at that price and they said yes, And then after they made a mistake of not installing my pickup , they wanted another hundred nine dollars to do that when I know your basic pickup install around here after calling several places that do this kind of repair is around sixty five dollars , average price I really wanted to get involved in the music scene here because I've been playing for over 30 years, including tours and opening for national acts, but\nIf this is the way businesses run here in las vegas then no thanks
