I saw a post on facebook for a free guitar restringing event. I took my guitar in and they installed new strings and also tightened up my tone/volume knobs which were loose. Very cool place. This is a family run business. It has a very cozy feeling. They have alot of couches to relax on if you want to try out guitars. I am not a professional musician and I don't work on my guitar or restring very often but I will definitely go back here in the future if I need a repair done or restring. Love, love coming here on my trips to Las Vegas a couple of times a year. It's my home away from home to get my GAS on whenever I am in from LA. Tucked away in a nondescript industrial park near Harry Reid, Sixx Gun Music is a true gem, an ahem, oasis in the vast desert of big box guitar stores stocking the same old. Daniel and Alicia are the nicest couple one could ask for and they know guitars inside out. Highly recommend this place. This time around I exercised some self control and left town without picking up a sweet deal on an LG-2 which I am already regretting in the rear view as I traverse the desert floor back to LA. This shop is amazing. Its vibe is more like a musician's hang-out, jam, friendly gathering than just a music store. I had some issues with a couple of acoustic guitars. One of them is 35 years old was all bent out of shape, frets were a mess, neck was wonky, and there was an inch long crack where the neck and body met. It was barely playable. Daniel took it for me and did a full setup and repair. Redid the frets, straightened everything out and repaired the crack along with some noisy clunking going on inside the body. What I thought would become a paperweight and simply a sentimental wall hanger has been refurb'd back into an amazing playing guitar. It plays like it did when it was brand new, and back when it was purchased, it was an expensive guitar. I'm so grateful for the work that they did, the amazing way that I was treated like family, and the fact that the repair cost was extremely reasonable (especially considering the aging and damage over the years). Thank you Sixx Gun, Daniel and Alicia for becoming my new music store family. After we left New York, we didn't think we would find any place out in Vegas that we could have the same relationships with that we had at our favorite NY shop that felt just like home as well. (Not to be left out, the 2nd guitar that I had was purchased from a different builder from California and had neck issues when it was delivered. The builder didn't acknowledge my effort to have it repaired/replaced, and Daniel grabbed that guitar for me, did an amazing repair on it, and it plays amazing after he did the repairs. I will never purchase from the original builder again. I ended up grabbing a Valkenberg that Daniel builds, and it's literally the best guitar that I've ever owned/played). read more

Expert guitar, bass, and amplifier knowledge. They build and repair for many name artists. Huge collection of vintage and classics. Prices are decent. I will be taking my vintage Fender Stratocaster to them to tweak, adjust, and calibrate. Shop is difficult to find but worth the effort. It is nothing like the slick chain guitar store you find in a mall. These guys KNOW what they are talking about. I will review again when I pick up my finished guitar. read more

Coming from a musical family I can honestly say that this is a terrific store. They offer guitar sales, guitar accessories and guitar repair. That is both acoustic and electric guitars. I came in a Saturday night and they had an open microphone event going on. It was kid friendly and offered players of varying levels a chance to perform. It was a very good experience for my daughter, she had taken up the guitar and piano a year ago and was in attendance. The experience has given my daughter new inspiration. read more

I was in town on business and was going to be over the weekend. Being I don't do the "normal Las Vegas things", I looked for something different. I found Sixx Gun Music's website and saw they offer classes for different guitar related maintenance and building. The schedule showed they had a "Bring Your Own Guitar" class for fretwork and guitar setup the weekend I was in town, I had one of my guitars with me, so I went down and signed up. It was supposed to be a small class of 3 students, but the other two endedvup rescheduling, so I got a 1 on 1 guitar setup class. Daniel was a great teacher, he would demonstrate on a couple of the steps, and then turn it over to me. He was doing the same proceedure on a customer's guitar, but keeping an eye on me, offering suggestions and correcting me if my technique was not correct. He also Explained to me how to make the required tools that won't break the bank, like cruising the Stew-Mac website will. Overall I learned some new skills and spent a afternoon of guitar tweaking and pleasent conversation. Highly recommend the classes, the store has a great selection of guitars, basses, amplifiers, guitar parts, and Daniel and Alicia are outstanding people! read more

Mark and Alicia ripped me off for $200 and currently are refusing to refund my money for an online purchase they NEVER SHIPPED. I have PROOF from USPS and they claim that USPS magically forgot to scan the package and then threw it in the garbage. All they did was get a tracking number and enter it into Reverb to get PAID. After that, they ghosted me. So I called the shop several times and they gave excuse after excuse. Alicia tried to lecture me about being rude and how $200 was "No big deal". Alicia is telling ME that MY $200 is no big deal. THEY SPENT MY $200 AND BLAMED ME!! I have sent a certified letter and have to wait 15 businesxs days from delivery to meet small claims court requirements. After that, a date will be set and I will get my $200 plus damages. I am seeking $2,500 for loss of business. They didn't ship anything and my customer suffered. Now Sixx Gun gets their turn. See ya soon, guys! read more

Dropped my old Mexican made Fender Jazz Bass off for a full re-string, tune-up, intonation, adjustment, and whatever else. I was skeptical that this bass could ever play well again. I heard this is the man here in Las Vegas to bring it back to life. I'm so glad I took the chance. This thing plays better than my $2000 American Jazz Bass now. I am absolutely blown away at the low action, evenness, and overall smooth playability. This has been my backup bass for 20 years and now it is my favorite. Went in on Wednesday the 12th to drop 2 guitars off for restring and cleaning and was told it'd be 10 days due to the amount of work they had plus an upcoming trade show in Texas. No worries, I wasn't in a hurry to get them done, take your time. Got a call today, 3 days later, telling me they were done. Really? You promised 10 days and got it done in 3? Awesome. Walked in and there they were, all clean and nice. Tested out the strings and action, and it was perfect for me. These guys are awesome. Highly recommend for any guitar work you need done. read more

Spectacular! My favorite guitar decided to commit suicide when it went from a Mediterranean climate to a desert climate. The action went from great to what I can only describe as on par with the very cheap wood box I played when I was 16. Sixx gun to the rescue. I'm so glad I found these people! I took it in, the problem was explained to me in detail and when I saw it, I thought it was beyond repair. I was given a very fair estimate and an approximate time frame and an honest "I will do the best I can for you". I just picked up the guitar. No kidding, the action is BETTER than when I bought it. I had purchased a brand new Zager acoustic electric guitar. For some reason, after a few months the bridge began to lift away from the body of the guitar. Since this was not covered under the warranty I needed to find a local luthier to do the repair. I was fortunate enough to stumble across Sixx-Gun music. I had Daniel do the repair as well as set up the guitar. Although Zager claimed that each guitar was set up before left the factory, once Daniel was done with it it played beautifully, much better than when I first received it. I plan to have another guitar setup done here in the near future. The customer service was excellent as was the technical service. I would recommend them without reservation. read more
