Well, most of the things are pretty good. I have a drum lesson usually once a week. My teacher is really nice. But the customer service can sometimes go wrong because there can be a long line and sometimes rude customers. I am still going to guitar center. Just sometimes things can go wrong. read more

In contrast to a lot of the other reviews on this page (which oddly enough, a majority of them reflect guitar center as a business, not their lessons department), I have had a very pleasant experience with their lessons thus far. My 10 year-old daughter expressed interest in taking violin lessons, so I began the search online and through Yelp. I'd actually completely forgotten that we had a nearby guitar center, and didn't think they did violin lessons until I searched their instructors and lo and behold, Miranda popped up on their lessons search page! I sent an email through the site to get more information, and within a few hours, I received a call from Joey who recommended I do a trial session. Miranda's availability is only on Saturdays, and we were fortunate to get in pretty much for the next day (spoke to Joey on a Friday). Parking was ample until he Town Square parking lot, and it was easy to find and get to their Lessons department. My daughter's trial lesson with Miranda began very punctually, and she brought us back to a small private room with soundproofing, two pianos, and multiple seats. Miranda did great with her for her age group and complete lack of musical knowledge. She went over the basics of the parts of the violin and bow, how to hold everything, the strings, and how to properly use the bow on the violin. She sent us home with a few pages from a curriculum book for her to practice. My daughter walked away from the trial very happy and excited to learn more! We appreciated Miranda's positive and kind attitude, as well as her wealth of knowledge. We will be setting up more lessons with her soon, and I will update the review as time goes on! read more

Don't bother calling to ask about inventory. They just put you on hold for over 20 mins waiting for you to hang up. They did it 3 times when I called in. Just use amazon. read more

Don't waste your time or money, and when you cancel the lessons they keep charging your card and customer service is horrible. Its not only the lessons, the whole guitar center team has gone down hill. I have been a loyal customer but not anymore. read more

Everyone hear is very friendly and very helpful. Never came here before but we came to buy my boyfriends dad a guitar for Christmas. We don't know anything about guitars and Hayden put in lots of time and effort to help us find the perfect one based off of the bands his dad liked and the music he listened to. I'd like to commend Robbie for his great customer service while we were at the guitar center in Town Square location. We went there to have my son's guitar fix and unfortunately, according to the technician, he recommended to exchange it since the problem is not fixable. While we were there, Robbie gave us a big smile and asked how he can help. Right away, he gave us some options and since the guitar was not available in the store yet, he provided us the complete information of when and even offered that he will make sure that he will have the guitar checked before giving it to us. I am impressed of his customer service. I hope that other employees that works there provide the same service just like Robbie. No surprise on the reviews here. I called on a Saturday to inquire on lessons. The lessons manager was out for a bit and they took down my information to call me back. Wednesday and still haven't heard from him. Just called to speak to someone and the lessons manager is out for the day. I guess they dont want new students. Bought a guitar set up lessons for my boys and the day before they were scheduled Alfredo the manager said they over booked told me that he would schedule me another day and would call me back yet never did. I called him the following day he said sorry he forgot. So he scheduled me the following week when we showed up we didnt have a class scheduled. I guess her forgot again. We have been taking lessons for almost a year. I have 3 children ages 8 (Isabella), 6 (Peirce is autistic), and 5 (Campbell). Isabella is a wonderful smart girl, this past school year was a real struggle due to bullying. She has struggled with being able to push through a challenge and allow herself to fail, but to keep trying. Last fall we decided to put the kids in music lessons, drums. The second class for Isabella the teacher used a Metronome to help Isabella keep the beat. After about 30 seconds she told him I have to stop, I'm getting a tummy ache. Sam asked why she was struggling and she said I can't keep up, I'm afraid I won't be able to do it right so I think I need to stop. That wonderful man, Sam, sat there and talked to my daughter about how music is art and there is no imperfection in art. He explained to her that music lessons are just a means of teaching her how to use the instrument to create her own art. We transitioned and added another teacher so that all the kids could take lessons simultaneously, Peirce and Sam had a really good report so we let Isabella switch to take lessons from Tony. Sam updated Tony regarding Isabella's struggles with perfectionism and the anxiety over making a mistake. Tony has been amazing taking over for her. He is pushing her to learn the fundamentals, but encouraging her to push outside of her self. She has actually started writing her own beats to take in to show him. Sam has been a dream with Peirce who's Autism can cause some challenges. Sam rolls with all of it and is truly loved and trusted by my son. After going to a Phillip Phillips concert Peirce is a huge fan, Peirce told Sam He wanted to switch to a guitar. Sam didn't miss a beat, he took Peirce over to pick a guitar to borrow for the lesson and began teaching him to play that day. I love love love our music teachers at Guitar Center they are incredibly supportive and positive with my children. They support and encourage my children's love for music and most of all they nurture the kids' self-esteem to grow. I could not have taught her the wonderful lesson that Sam taught her to let go of the idea of perfection and just feel the beat. Tony with Isabella, Sam with Peirce, and now Ryan with Campbell are extremely important in the process of teaching our children to overcome hard things. About a month ago Isabella and Tony came out of the lesson early because she said her hand hurt too bad to play, she might have had a paper cut, Tony was encouraging her but she just wasn't budging. That was a week that he changed to a more challenging beat. She was intimidated and wanted to quit. I talked to her about the drummer for Def Leapord, yes she knows and likes their music, lost his arm. We talked about the fabulous thing about drumming is that you can use your feet. In no time Tony had her back on the drums using her feet, and she totally rocked!!! I thought I was sighning up for music lessons, but because of the incredible teachers at Guitar Center my kids are learning so much more, they are building confidence, learning that it's ok to have a plan change but also to not fear imperfection. I love that these teachers encourage their creativity rather than trying to force them to only play other people's music. They encourage my kids to be kids, none of the stern lectures or critiques that I remember from my childhood music teachers. Hands down some of the best $$$ we are spending. I don't care if my kids become fabulous musicians, I care that their confidence in all things grows from doing this one thing that they love. read more
