The fries (I want to eat clean but it's not like I'm training for the Olympics) were a bit on the soggy side unfortunately. And the Terraza Salad was okay, but really could have used a crumbly cheese of some kind. But the vague mediocrity of the food is offset by the beauty of the beach, the softness of the sand and the bath-temperature Atlantic. My point being: you could do a lot worse. I was pretty much forced to come here for my meals when I stayed next-door at an Airbnb because this is the only place to really eat in the area. It's definitely not the cultural experience I was looking for when it came to food. The meals were good, nothing amazing and nothing bad. Breakfast portions tended to be very large and dinner not so much. One day I found the scallops were a tad undercooked and another day the fish was overcooked. Prices are what you would expect. About $15 for a good breakfast and $40-$50 for dinner. I would spend that just getting two appetizers. If you sit outside during breakfast, the blackbirds are impossible to get rid of. Tonight we sought out a new restaurant with lighter fare and found Sirena, located in a nearby Courtyard by Marriott - not a venue in which I would normally seek a nice dinner. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. Service was friendly and very attentive. Our dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. The venue, overlooking Isla Verde beach was beautiful. While the menu was not extensive, offerings were tempting. Our dishes did. It disappoint in any way. Location is one of the best aspects of this restaurant, it sits oceanfront in the Marriott Courtyard hotel in Isla Verde. The wait staff here were great , friendly and accommodating. The cocktails here after a long day of travel hit the spot and they didn't hold back on the tequila! We walked here & it was quite longer than we imagined but boy was it worth it. It was not a satisfying fruit plate because it wasn't very cold and the melons and pineapple were inedible due to being unripe and hard. Also, I don't like diet yogurt so I wish the menu would've specified that it would be a little cup of grocery store yogurt in the description of the dish. On a positive note, the banana bread was moist and tasty. As other reviewers have mentioned, the food here takes forever. We waited more than 25 minutes for fruit and rice. But at least there's a nice view to enjoy while you wait. And our server Brian made the experience as positive as possible. The woman who sat us was our server. Since there was only 2 of us at a table set for 4 the other place settings were not removed until halfway thru our dinner. (Dining 101). We ordered the Tuna app with peanut butter which was good but extremely small portion for $13. We also ordered the Blue cheese n blueberry sea salad which was extremely small and was not worth the $14. Although good dressing just not worth the price. Our dinners arrived 1 hour after we placed our order which left quite a bit of downtime. But wait the server never asks us if we want a cocktail and our glasses had sat empty for almost 8 to 10 minutes. But don't worry because you won't get bored waiting for your food and drinks because you can watch the black and white cat litetally run around the restaurant. The best part is I am allergic to cats. Fine dining restaurant seaside and a cat running around? WOW! I gave this a 2 star because unfortunately thats all it deserves...I wouldn't eat here again. The wait staff is incredibly nice and prompt. Many of the same people worked the pool side Papaya cafe but are much more prompt at Sirena just because they aren't as overloaded. The red snapper was under seasoned and dry. It was served in a rather interesting way standing up like it's still swimming. It looked cool but actually made he fish harder to eat. A bigger plate to just serve it lying down flat would have been better. The mixed vegetables with the red snapper was properly seasoned. Fried pork chops were really thin and rather dry but well seasoned and very tasty after I dipped the pieces in the beans (from the rice and beans side). Flan de queso was well seasoned but slightly on the denser side. Tasted like a standard flan I'd make at home when I add an extra egg yolk just to make sure it will set. Beef bajos tacoes were the highlight of my 2 trips here. Just absolutely delicious hitting all the right notes that a taco should hit. This was likely the best dinner I had during my stay in Puerto Rico. To start, the ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic. The seating is right on the beach, with nice lighting set up all around. We came around sunset, and it was absolutely stunning to admire the sky along the water as we enjoyed our meal. We started off our night with some drinks, which were all made very well (and perhaps more reasonably priced than some other resorts'). For my entree, I ordered the roasted chicken with a side of mushroom risotto (didn't cost anything extra!). To my surprise, the risotto arrived as part of the dish, and I am so glad I added it. The risotto, along with the plantain cream, were so delicious together. The chicken itself was a little bit dry, but with these other two items, was incredible. The dish was quite filling and even though I didn't finish it all, I had to take home what was left because it was just so tasty! Our waitress was friendly enough; the service was a little bit on the slow end but the beautiful scenery surrounding us made up for the wait time.
