At present, I felt a (for me) special need to receive massage therapy. I communicated prior in consultation my body's needs, and also early during our session that I needed a deeper, more systemic massage, but my communication did not impact the modality. The response I received was, "We'll see." I was not listened to. I wanted to wait a few days to monitor my biofeedback before formulating an opinion, and as some time has passed, I feel no therapeutic benefit was received. There was no felt toxin release or muscular physiological shift. My body just needs a modality that utilizes deeper pressure for systemic benefit. This would be a fine experience simply within the context of a relaxing afternoon, or if the cost was not aligned with local market rate, which is well above national averages. Unfortunately, I am going to have to continue searching for a massage therapy nearby. I only hope that this was simply an isolated experience, and not representative of the school, otherwise I feel a need to seek external influence in finding a massage therapy of value. I will not be returning to Ashland Institute of Massage, as I received no value for what I paid, which is disheartening coming from the region's education center.

She helped me sooo much! It is now 45 minutes after the massage and my body is much more relaxed and the pain is not with me at the moment. Expect it will come back, but I have already scheduled more massages with Chrysalis Massage Clinic and RoseAnn!

She was avail the same day which was a God send because my neck and shoulder were very tight. It's interesting how all masseuse have a unique style and feel. Ariel's massage definitely stands out as slow, strong, and steady. Her intuition, patience and thoroughness made her massage almost like an art form. After she worked on my neck and shoulder, I was surprised to feel 100% better! Usually, a masseuse will start to work out the knots but in the end the knots are not completely gone. But she took the time to work out all of the knots. So refreshing! Plus, speaking of thorough, she used aroma therapy, big soft cushion for the knees, and hot towels at the end. She has a calm, patient presence, and I felt I was in good hands. I'd recommend Ariel to anyone. I wish her well. And I'll be back!

After my experience I knew I needed to come back and pay it forward because she's everything you would hope for in a massage therapist - kind and intuitive, strong but relaxing, professional and yet laid back. Ann made me feel at ease immediately, asking why I came in and hoped to achieve. I use less than optimal posture at the computer 5 days a week and my quality of life has been suffering for it.
