ZERO STARS. I saw Dr. Selinger during a stint she was working in Las Vegas (wonder why she isn't in Vegas anymore! ) she was the only doctor I could find that was taking new patients, and NOW I KNOW WHY!!! I came to her with some very serious problems I had been having and was at my whits end trying to find answers. She takes one look at me, first visit, no labs, no tests and says "you're experiencing these symptoms because you're probably diabetic" I was DUMBFOUNDED. I am not obese, nor am I diabetic! I had a previous doctor who found a fibroid pretty large for someone my age, was told the size of a kiwi and wanted to explore my options to treat or remove it and had concerns of possible endo. She does an ultra sound and tells me my fibroid is pretty much non existent and doesn't need any attention. Then tells me all my problems can be fixed with birth control. I told her I didn't want birth control because I have adverse effects, she said I was crazy and it was all in my head and birth control has no side effects. WHAT?!!!! I write this review because FINALLY I have found a doctor who actually cares and takes the time. I was validated today that I have a serious issue that needs attention, more than just birth control!!!!!, and my "non existent" fibroid IS the size of a kiwi. STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR!!! She is miserable in her own life and I truly believe that being an attractive, happy female, will deter this doctor from being nice to you. You can tell she's miserable in her own life and treats people like crap because "she can" and she's smarter than you because she "went to school". WORST DOCTOR EVER!!! Dr. Selinger delivered my 2nd child. She was the OB that I truly needed. She made me and my hubby feel important, especially our baby. She gave me the attention any mom-to-be needed. She listened and heard me and my baby delivery needs. I truly felt important and that I mattered. Years later, I was pregnant with my third child. Our financial situation was different and went with a different group where was tossed to and fro doctor. The entire time I missed Dr. Selinger deeply. Several years after, I made sure my new insurance had her in my network. I was able to go back to her only to find out I could have gone to her with my third pregnancy (I was told otherwise by the insurance carrier). She was in a different office and her partner Dr. was not a nice individual. He was condescending and made one feel like dirt. However, Dr. Selinger remained the same. Then I went through a life battle. Never in my life has a Dr. been so empathetic and understanding. She noticed a difference in me. It felt as though I was in therapy counseling. A life of a woman IS NOT EASY, but when you have a Dr. who understands women because she is one too then you have found yourself the right OB/GYN Doctor. read more

Stay away from this OB! She is ruthless, bitchy along with all her staff and will hold your prescription hostage so you have come back to see her. She will also push procedures that are not required just so that she can make extra money on your visit. Every year I came in to my annual check up, she pushed on doing a pap even though I do not need one. I am over 30 and all paps have been normal, but it was a fight every time I came in. I finally switched OB and couldn't be happier to have found a sweetheart of an OB/GYN who listens to my needs and not her own needs. read more

Dr. Selinger is awesome. She is wise beyond her years. Any questions I had they were answered. It was like badabing, badaboom! In and out, one stop shop. She is my new OB. From my experience, she is very efficient and knowledgeable. I value doctors who are meticulous and pay attention to the tiniest details. She delivered all of these qualities before my surgery. It is very hard to trust a doctor without being able to witness their competence. From the qualities she had shown, I value her honesty and blunt responses. I will recommend her services. I've been going to Dr. Selinger for 14 years. She has given exceptional prenatal care and delivery for all 4 of my kids. I also see her for my well woman check ups annually. In between my 1st and 2nd child I suffered a miscarriage and she handled it so well she was very sensitive to our situation and provided the utmost care, even saw me on her lunch break!! She is very dedicated to her patients and has such a sweet and calm demeanor that really puts you at ease. She is direct and on it and I love that about her. I wouldn't go to anyone else. read more

My 1st & last visit happened on 9-4-19. I took the whole day off bcuz I wasn't sure what would be required for a new visit( labs, xrays,etc). My appt was set for 9am. At 950, I asked reception if Dr. Selinger was going to see me soon. She informed me that the Dr just arrived due to an emergency. At 1020 I asked again if the Dr. Was going to be seeing me soon. The reception didnt have an answer for me. At that point I told the girl to shred my new patient paperwork and that I would not be coming back. After reading all of the reviews about this Dr. I take it as a blessing that I didnt have interaction with her. I'm not one to keep quiet when someone is being rude and unprofessional. read more

Let me start by saying I don't think I could have delivered my baby and enjoyed my birth experience with any OB other than Dr. Selinger. She made my first pregnancy/delivery a way better experience than I ever could have imagined. She always answered every question leaving no room for what if's or anxiety to poke through. Made an appt with this office 30 days out, that was their next available. I arrive 20 mins early as requested and after 10 mins past my scheduled time I see people being called back that came in after me. I ask then ladies in the front desk what's going on and I was told they only have two Providers and they see patients based upon what they are here for? What's the point in making an appointment then?! I waited 20 mins past my appointment then asked for my paperwork back and left. I would not recommend this office for lack of professionalism and customer service. I had to get a babysitter for this appointment. They should have a walk ins because if you're not pregnant you are going to wait. read more

Currently 31 weeks. I have not delivered yet but will in March. I've used Dr. Selinger through out my pregnancy and she has been nothing but amazing. She was my Gyno before pregnancy as well. If you need a DR. who is going to hold your hand and coddle you then no she is not your doctor. BUT if you want an incredibly intelligent doctor who will always be honest with you then she is perfect. I have anxiety and with pregnancy as well as being a first time mom I worry and overthink every little symptom. Dr. Selinger will sit with my husband and I and take her time going over everything with us and always puts my mind at ease. She has always been incredibly kind. Dr. Selinger is by far the most unprofessional physician I've encountered. She is rude, cold, and shows no type of empathy. I was seen by her for my pregnancy and every time I had an appointment with her I dreaded it. There were a few times where it was close to an hour wait to see her. I had a bunch of questions and I would wait until Dr. Shehata saw me to ask away. She made me feel stupid, one time when she noticed I was laying on the bed incorrectly, I told her that this is how i usually lay down and she said "no i always see you and i always pull out the extension, you need to pay close attention " i was a bit dumbfounded on how she was treating me. When she was checking for baby's heartbeat she was unable to hear it so she says, "next time dont put lotion on your stomach its hard to hear the baby" she said it with attitude. I simply responded ok. After that encounter i saw her two more times and again she was short with me. Almost like she hated her job or if i always caught her on her bad days. Maybe she had something against me? Luckily she didn't deliver my baby Dr. Shehata did and she has always been so professional and empathetic towards me. The last straw was today, i received an extension of my disability because i am suffering of postpartum depression. The office called to notify me that they were not able to extend my disability. Long story short they messed up and i asked to speak to Dr. Shehata but she wasn't available so then i asked to speak to the MA that specifically told me she was going to enter the information on her end and she was also not available. i said i would hold for her and when i finally spoke to someone it was Selinger. I asked if this was the MA and she said no this is Dr. Selinger what's going on, i explained myself to her and she too said that they were not going to extend my disability. I told her i wanted to talk to the MA and she said ,"i didn't know she could override me" with a cackle . She eventually looked at the notes and very nonchalant said "i see it her i will fix it" thats when i took a breather and told her "i have postpartum depression and the thought of not being covered from my job is scary " then she said " i dont know what else to tell you, i said i would fix it" then i said " an apology would be nice!" She "apologized" but She didn't mean it. Then she tried to blame it on me saying that i confused the admin. Thats when i went off on her and told her she always blames me. She told me she wasn't going to process my claim and that now i had to wait to talk to the other doctor. I got a letter in the mail stating she would be leaving that doctors office which makes me so happy that i will not see her face come November. read more

Dr. Sellinger is great, when your pregnant. However, for any needs after you have a baby, you are treated very poorly. It takes 2-3 months to get an appointment with her if you are not pregnant. You can however, see her nurse within 2-3 weeks. I see doctors very rarely but, after having a baby, I have had a few new issues Ive needed to been seen about. One issues was never resolved and I was basically told they couldn't help me and to go see a PCP for blood work. However, they could have requested the blood work and evaluated it then referred to a PCP which would have been more efficient. A second situation was a refill on a prescription. The Pharmacy needed an authorization and it was a Saturday. When I called the doctors answering service, they told me there was nothing they could do to help me or get a message to the doctor. Basically, I had to suffer as my situation grew worse for 3 days. Monday was a holiday so I called first thing Tuesday morning. After spending 30min. on the phone with the receptionist Lorena, she finally got up off her ass and went to check and see if they received the fax from the Pharmacy. I literally had to fight her to get an answer. She then told me I had to wait until the doctor had time to approve it. 2 hours later I called the pharmacy and they had still not received authorization. When I called the doctor back, I got the same receptionist, after another 5 min. of persuasion and frustration, she transferred me to the very friendly and helpful Office Manager, Richard. 2 min. on the phone and he had found my request and sent it to the PA to get signed when she gets back from lunch. Basically this place lacks good customer service. There is no reason I should have had to spend this much time on something that took one person 2 min. to resolve. I was also told that the answering service gave me inadequate information and that they could have sent my request to the doctor on call. Since having my baby I have had such a horrible experience with office, I would be hesitant to ever recommend her to anyone. Which is unfortunate because as a doctor, Sissi was pretty rad. However her front desk ladies need a lesson on proper ways to treat paying customers. Note: Lorena was also a pain in my ass when I was pregnant. She only knows how to give answers off of her training list and doesn't know how to think outside the box. I had to miss an appointment due to work travel and she literally didn't know how to handle it. Sweet girl but, no common sense and no ability to be "Pro-Active". No "Do what ever it takes to Get-it-done" type of attitude. read more

I had my first and last appointment with this lady (I use this term loosely) today. I've had some crappy doctors in my lifetime, but she takes the cake. She's abrasive, rude, and a total bitch (for lack of a better term). She seemed annoyed that she had to even "deal" with me. I can't believe she's a doctor honestly. With her personality she really needs to be in a different profession. I've made the decision to switch insurances since this is the best that Blue Shield has to offer. Good riddance! read more

Dr. Selinger is a horrible doctor. She does not review patient notes or files before walking in to the exam room. Some people excuse her behavior by saying she is "straight forward" and "matter of fact." These are just excuses for her being a jerk. You can be straight forward & also have tact. She rushes through exams, doesn't listen, doesn't like questions & over books appts. Wait time for me is always over an hour. I've been seeing her for four years. She never remembers anything about me. After my third biopsy with her, I get a call from her staff who says, "The Dr. wants to go over the results with you in person." Already alarmed I say ok, when? "Can you be here at 11:40am today (in 40 minutes). "I'm already at another appt & I'm in the exam room waiting. Can I be seen a little later? 12 or 1pm?" If she wants me there right away & won't tell me over the phone, I think this is bad. She says, "No, the Dr. is going to be leaving for the day & won't be here. Can you be here at 9:20am tomorrow?" I need 3 days notice before requesting PTO from work but I say ok because I need to make this work. The dr. won't tell me over the phone & wants me there now. It must be bad. My primary dr. comes in. A bit shaken I tell him about the call. After I tell him he says, "You should go now." He tells me that he will stay late, that I can come back at the end of the day today. He sits there with me, while I call back Dr. Selinger's office to confirm. I thank my Primary Care Dr. profusely as I speed out the door. HE IS A GREAT DOCTOR. Actually cares about his patients. I show up & 3 other patients are seen before me. I could have finished my appt with him & been there by the time they called me back. Why did they make me rush over there just to wait an hour? Also, I have NEVER had a doctor charge me & my insurance to go over test results. Why are they billing my insurance to give me test results? I finally get called back, I'm talking to Shai(sp?) & it comes up that I left in the middle of another dr appt & she asks, "Why? This isn't an emergency?" Then why did I need to be here in 40 minutes? Sissi finally comes in, proceeds to give me the results that could have been given to me over the phone & I ask why the rush. Sissi IMMEDIATELY shuts me down & jumps down my throat. Tells me that she was standing right next to Tiffany when she made the call & she absolutely did not make it sound like an emergency. There is no way I can make any assumptions about what the dr. was going to talk to me about. When you're getting a biopsy for cancer & they call to tell you to be in the office in 40 minutes, can't give you the results over the phone, that sounds urgent. It is a logical assumption. Tell me, EXACTLY, how that phone call would have been worded differently if it HAD been an emergency? I've never had a dr. get defensive & yell at me so unprofessionally. In that situation, a normal person would say, "I'm sorry. I know how that must have seemed but I had an opening in the schedule today that was convenient for me so called you in. Maybe next time I can leave notes so she can let you know that it's not urgent even though I'm asking you to leave work in the middle of the day & rush over here just to wait an hour to see me to get test results I could have given you over the phone. I had time in the schedule & wanted to rush you over here for an excuse to get another couple hundred $ for the day from your insurance. Look at all the money I got to bill today & still be home by 1:00pm." The kicker is, she called me in to give me the results & she had not actually gotten all the results yet. This was on a Mon. Fri. morning I got a call from Tiffany. Now they have all the results in & I am being referred to an oncologist. Tiffany of course, is not a dr. so can't answer any questions for me over the phone. Sissi is not available because she has left for vacation. Why am I being told over the phone that I likely have cancer instead of being called in? Well Sissi can't charge my insurance twice for giving me test results for the same procedure. read more

Went to selinger for my last pregnancy. My first I had to go through a different office which I didn't know who would be delivering my baby since I met with maybe 6 different obs in that one office. It was nice knowing dr selinger was definitely going to be delivering my baby. My visits are always fast and I felt comfortable with her right from the start. She's very straight forward and I can tell she likes everything done right and you better know what you're doing, in the delivery room before my emergency c-section, we could just tell she was getting a little impatient with the nurse because she had to tell her what to do and how to do it. (Basic stuff,can't remember exactly what now that I'm 6 weeks pp). Emergency c section was quick, I was in there for maybe 10-15 minutes, at the end when they finished and was just cleaning me up, I remember all of us in the OR talking about our kids and how they all have our personalities. It was actually a fun c section and it was my first. I'll definitely be back for my routine visits. I'm very happy with this office and dr selinger, she's awesome. read more

Horrible experience with this OB during the entire pregnancy. Her bedside manner was horrible at each monthly visit, with the exception of the first 2 which my husband was present for. I had a gut feeling to change OBs a few times after subsequent monthly visits but my husband kept saying I should just "give her another chance" (which he later regretted). We were told we would receive lab results for repeated genetic testing (important due to family history) and Dr. Selinger would always "forget" to call us or even to mention it during our 5 minute visits (that we often waited in the waiting room to be seen for 45min to once even 2 hours after our scheduled appointment time!) I was hospitalized at 5 and 6 months for bleeding and pre-term contractions and upon an office visit (the following day) after first hospitalization, she did not even mention it! I had to bring it up and she acted like it was no big deal. It happened again the following month and was much worse. I spent all of Saturday and Sunday at Rancho Springs medical center. Staff called her and made her aware and when I asked her for a doctors note from work for the following day (Monday) she refused! I basically begged and she refused, thank goodness I have a boss who IS human! I was 2 weeks overdue and Dr. Selinger REFUSED to deliver me because she was going to be on vacation for her sons birthday and scheduled my induction for the Monday when she was to return from vacation, at which point I would have been 42 1/2 weeks! Absurd! At 42 weeks my amniotic fluid was checked at the hospital and was it was apparently leaking and levels were extremely low and I was immediately admitted and induced. I was grateful that her partner ended up delivering my baby, as Dr. Selinger was still out on her vacation. Unfortunately, Dr.Selinger did have to discharge me from hospital on Monday and told me to take over the counter ibuprofen 200mg tabs for 3rd degree vaginal tears! Nurses (and myself who is a Pharmacist) thought she was absolutely nuts for this and could not believe that she would not discharge me with a Rx pain med. Many nurses at the hospital shook their heads or rolled their eyes when I stated that she was my OB and my husband chatted with a couple nurses during the course of our stay (we had a complicated delivery and were in the hospital for 5 days), there have apparently been ongoing problems with her not only from the patient end but also with medical staff. I ended up calling her office 2 days after discharge, unable to bear the pain of my vaginal tears and one of her staff called in a Rx for Tylenol 3 which is not even safe to take while breast feeding. Dr. Selinger was aware that I was breast feeding. I never even filled the Rx. I changed OBs and saw someone else for my 6 week check up---which was a difficult process because most OBs (I was being told) will not evaluate at this point if they weren't your OB for said pregnancy or you weren't seen by an OB in their medical group. I had my second child 2yrs later with a different OB (obviously, lol) and the experience was markedly better. Stay away! read more

Dr. Sissi Selinger is my OBGYN, unlike many of the other reviewers I didn't seek Dr. Selinger out due to pregnancy but for my PCOS. I had been to a few local OBGYNs and found that Dr. Selinger was the very best for this particular disease. She is knowledgeable and straightforward when it comes to her plan of care and as a medical professional I admire that. In our first meeting she took her time asking me questions and getting to know my general history. She was informative and I felt very comfortable with her. I will have to agree that she is a no fuss kinda lady who tells it how it is but I like that, I want to know and be involved in my treatments and not just have someone fluff me. I did have to wait about 30 minutes in the lobby during my first visit but no more than 10 minutes there after. Overall she's a straight shooter who is well educated in her field and I would recommend her to family and friends. read more

Very unprofessional/rude physician. I was referred to her by my primary because she was in my network. She kept me waiting for over 30 minutes. During this time I could here someone being very rude to another employee and I was thinking to myself, they must know I can hear them. Just as I was about to put my clothes back on, the doctor walks in and her voice was the same that I had heard. She proceeded to ask me questions not knowing why I was even there. I told her that my reports had already been sent. She then retrieved them and started going into something I was not aware of and said I had to come back. This appointment was just a consultation. I was so confused but made my 2nd appointment. On my 2nd visit she came into the exam room again reprimanding one of her staff. When she sat down she was just ready to start, not explaining anything to me. I tried to ask her questions to clarify what my primary doctor had told me versus what she told me in the previous. She wouldn't even let me get my questions out and just talked over me. I was already nervous about what I had thought she was telling me on the first appointment so I spoke up and clarified with her some facts she had wrong. She actually rolled her eyes and started to argue with me. When I spoke up again and she said that whatever the case may be that she was the one that was going to decide if I have pre-cancer or not so really I should be thanking her!!! I was so taken back by this that I couldn't even say anything. I was dying inside and just wanted to run out. When she was done she didn't even say anything to me about what was next, I had to ask her and she handed me a pad "in case I had any bleeding" and left the room! I cried all the way home and when I saw my husband and told him he was so upset that a professional doctor treated me like that. She is abousolutely the most unprofessional person I have ever met with no manners or compassion. Thankfully my test came back normal and after I hit the red button to post I will put this horrible experience away. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Selinger's for 13 years and would highly recommend her. Her and her staff are always helpful and I feel like more than just a "patient" when I go there. Dr. Selinger always listens to me and takes the time I need to answer questions or concerns I may have. I know sometimes she gets called away for an emergency but her and her staff are always as accommodating as possible and try to get you seen in a timely manner (way quicker than other OB/GYN offices). I look forward to my visits with her. I have been through so much with her from pregnancies to surgeries and feel like I always get the best service possible. I have been a patient of Dr. Selinger for almost two years and have been really happy with her care. She makes me feel comfortable asking questions and she is very thorough and makes sure I understand different options of treatment. I think it's hard to find a thorough and professional doctor who is also down to earth and easy to talk to. She has great bedside manners and even called to check on me after a procedure to make sure I was recovering okay. All of the staff in the office are always professional, polite, and friendly. Dr. Selinger and her entire staff (and occasional interns) were a huge relief to me during a big transitional period. Her office was the ONLY office in the area that would take me on as a patient being 34 weeks pregnant when I moved to CA. Not only did they accept me as a patient, but did it with such patience and care as they helped me with all the insurance hurdles and paperwork that went along with it. It was almost like a bonus that Dr. Selinger was down to earth, informative, respectful of my decisions and approachable. I had to be induced and my labor and delivery could not have gone any better. She made me feel confident and coached me with authority to have a successful and healthy delivery. I've seen reviews that paint the front office and the doctor out to be difficult, but I truly think they are completely inaccurate and should be taken as miscommunication or a one time situation that I'm certain Rancho OBGYN would easily be able to redirect if given the opportunity. read more

I began going to Dr. Selinger right before I had my daughter off of the recommendation of some friends who use her as a physician. Overall the staff was great and helped me with any issues I had (insurance, disability,etc) in a timely manner. Her direct MA Chey is awesome! Makes the process slot easier for first time moms and extremely compassionate towards her patients. On the day I delivered, Dr. Selinger made multiple visits to see me in the hospital and really tended to my needs in what at the time was a very painful and uneasy experience for a first time mom. She was amazing when it came time to the actual delivery part. Keeping me focused and feeling confident to push this baby out! Could not be HAPPIER!! Dr. Selinger is an AMAZING OBGYN!! She was recommended to me by my primary physician. Her professionalism, attention to detail, caring attitude and extensive knowledge in her field put me at easy, especially with my first born! When I would come in with pages of questions and concerns, Dr. Selinger would answer each one without hesitation. She was more than happy to give me the time I needed to ask my questions, NEVER did I feel RUSHED. In fact as our patient/doctor relationship grew, she would ask "Where's your paper?" and looked eager to answer my questions. During delivery she was EXCELLENT in helping a first time mom like me staying focused and get my little one out! I have been going to Dr. Selinger for almost 14 years. I have went through all four of my pregnancies with her and wouldn't have it any other way. I love her. I have type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. She has always made sure that I followed her specific instructions to ensure the best outcome for me and my baby. Each pregnancy was different and she took the time to make sure the health care that she provided me matched up with my specific needs with that pregnancy. Any time I called or emailed her office a question they always got back to me within a few hours. Most of the time Dr. Selinger would call me herself. She would always take the time at every one of my appointments to answer any questions I had and to make sure I understood everything. She doesn't sugar coat anything and is very to the point but knows what she is talking about. I have trusted her with my health and the health of my unborn babies. In doing so I am pleased to say that I have 4 very beautiful and healthy children. I am actually sad that I do not plan on having any more children. I will miss my monthly and weekly appointments with her and her staff but I still look forward to seeing her yearly! read more
