I went here with a couple of girlfriends and we had the best time. The menu is top notch! and the flavors are bold and savory. We went at night and it is low lit with an intimate feeling while being lively and fun. Def a spot to dress casual to hang with friends or a date. I ordered the carnitas street tacos and guacamole. The rest of the table ordered the nuggets, corn ribs, and fish tacos and everything was great! I am alcohol free for the month and ordered the faux mojito (their nonalcoholic drinks are slim but tasty!) Highly recommend this spot and am looking forward to going back. We checked out Sissy Bar recently, and discovered another Park Circle place to enjoy. Interior is very standard, nice long bar and then small tables with chairs. We were there for cocktails and enjoyed a few happy hour specials. The happy hour specials are worth it, and the gimlet was great. While there were also happy hour food items, most were out of stock. We did share a large burrito which was delicious. The service this Sunday night was average, nothing worth mentioning. But we enjoyed a few cocktails and that wonderful burrito. read more

The Sissy Bar is a newer concept in Park Circle. During my visit, we were told to sit in any open seating and we'd be served. I'm not sure if their air was out, but it was incredibly hot, so that impacted my experience. They offer craft cocktails, but I decided to go with a bartender's choice cocktail- which wasn't bad. The drinks are around $10-$13, but they are missing decoration (i.e. fun cups, fruit, etc.). Maybe I just had a bad experience, but I won't be rushing back. read more

I've been in twice and both were with small groups for a beverage. I haven't tried the food yet and I haven't really spent more than a couple hours there total. The first time we sat down at a table in the back with a group of four and had table service. We all ordered a cocktail and everyone seemed to enjoy them. I had the luscious lu which is a reposado tequila base with a citrus flavor profile and a chile dusted rim. I could have easily had another. The next time I came in with a group of six. A friend of mine made his way to the bar and asked the bartender what his favorite drink was. It was an off menu take on an espresso martini with tequila. To make things easy, we all agreed and said let's try it. We were able to snag some seats up front in the window and got out of the way of the bar area. Strangely everyone except for myself really disliked the cocktail. A couple people really didn't like it while a couple others thought it was just meh. I didn't taste anything off with it, so I ended up drinking my friends as well... bonus! Different strokes for different folks I guess. I look forward to stopping in for drinks again. I think of it more as a bar, but I would like to try the food menu soon too. I also heard they serve brunch on the weekends too and the menu looks interesting. A friend and I came here pretty late on a Wednesday night but there were quite a bit of people out. We sat down and ordered an app first which came out quickly (everything came out fast). I ordered a smashburger and my friend ordered himself a Cali Burrito. All 3 items were very tasty. The candied jalapenos for the burger added a nice element to cut the meatiness. The place is a cute little bar in park circle. There is a bar and tables along the wall as well as a backroom with tables. The bathrooms are towards the back of the establishment and were in good condition. The service was pretty good. It was nice of them to ask if I needed anything every 3 minutes. I needed to ask for a refill of my drink a few times because the glasses are a bit slimmer than other places. The food has a lot of seasoning on it and to be honest for some reason I couldn't really taste it while eating the food but I definitely needed to chew a couple of pieces of gum afterwards because it stays in your mouth. I was so excited to try Sissy Bar, which became even more palpable when we walked in to a chill and lively atmosphere and a bangin music selection. Unfortunately, the positives stopped there. I came with a group and we ordered all our drinks and food at the same time per the server's recommendation so our food would come out together. All the food items arrived separately and far before our sodas and cocktails. The Ace Ventura cocktail was delicious and had a nice presentation. When I asked if it was possible to add chicken to the quesadilla, I was told no so ordered it as is. The tortilla was raw in some places and burnt in others, but the cheese was melty. I didn't enjoy the overabundance of peppers in the quesadilla and the avocado crema was just okay but nothing to write home about. Our group was also recommended to get the fries which were unique. They had some sort of mushroom seasoning on them which was good, but the chili ranch dip accompanying them tasted like chemicals or plastic to all in our party. No one was particularly pleased with their meals. We were sitting next to the door, but there was a large Palmetto bug crawling under our table. When our server came to cash us out, he was getting ready to take a card for someone's bill, then he stopped when he saw his friends come in and followed them to the back of the restaurant without a word to our group. He came back several minutes later with no explanation. All in all, I might meet friends here for a drink again (assuming I wasn't on a time crunch with the slow service), but I wouldn't be interested in trying any more of the food. read more

We stopped in for brunch a few weeks ago and were so pleased! I can definitely see why there is so much hype! Our table of four had quite a few cocktails and every last one of them was delicious. I loved that our waitress was able to provide excellent pairings and recommendations as we went along! We ordered quite a few things to eat, including the breakfast sandwich, potatoes, breakfast burrito, pastry plate, chilaquiles, and the french toast. Love the moody vibe here. I prefer sitting at the bar, I feel like I've gotten better service there than with some of the table servers. Good cocktails and a nice happy hour special for margs and tacos! I prefer the steak tacos on the regular menu but the have nice sauces with all of their tacos. I went to Sissy Bar for brunch and I have to say it was just as good as I'd heard! I started with The Swinger which was a take on a spicy margarita. I enjoyed it so much I got a second one. The spicy and dirty martini was also delicious, the perfect amount of heat. For food my friend and I shared the chilaquiles, which was delicious. It was homemade tortilla chips, slow roasted pork in a chile verde sauce with two perfect sunny side up eggs on top. We also shared the breakfast cali burrito, which was one of the best breakfast burritos I've had. They put chorizo, scrambled eggs, French fries, pico de gallo and a cream sauce in a homemade tortilla. It was exactly what you want from a breakfast burrito. I was excited to go to Sissy Bar, but my expectations weren't met. First, the place is cute-sy but it's extremely dark! I get that mood lighting is in right now but over here it was excessive. Next, the menu. Very poor menu in my opinion. Not many options, and the options were all in some fancy language that I can't understand, you have to make it simple, putting words that nobody knows does not make you cool, it makes it stupid. Drink options were few and everything was tequila and I am unfortunately allergic. They did have a full bar thankfully so I was able to get something. I got a French 75 and it was just meh, nothing special about it and they made it with wine instead of prosecco. I will not be going back to be honest.
