I visited Sit Catering like a week and a half before my wedding and Sona and her husband were able to get everything done, rentals and food/desserts, within that short time frame. Honestly, I had stopped by other places who freaked out and panic when they found out how late I had decided to do all this but Sit Catering took on the challenge and did an amazing job! When I contacted them for my event (a large family get-together), I spoke to Diego. Diego took the time and explained the packages and process of setting up thoroughly with such a friendly and positive tone. He radiates positivity! Later, when I visited their office to complete the inquiry, Sona greeted us with a fantastic smile and answered all our questions, walking us through the final look. And i'm glad i did. My engagement party (for which I posted pictures-Black & Yellow theme) was hosted in my back yard and consisted of 94 guests. Beginning from the ideas, to the set up, to the decorations, to the food, to the staff, to the waiters, and the clean up they get an A++ for all the categories. This company not only delivers what you pay for, but more. My guests had already arrived and she and her staff were still unpacking and bringing in the food. Totally embarrassing! They came and litterly took care of every single detail from cups to making coffee to cleaning up and allowed my mom to enjoy my wedding day instead of running around serving people. I have been to several events done by Sit, a wedding, both male and female birthday parties, a 2 bridal shower, an engagement, and 2 baby shower lol! These events ranged from a small setting of 30 people to wedding of a few hundred people. From my experience the overall decor Is always immaculate. Every event I have attended from Sit has had different decor specialized to the individuals taste and event. I like that they are always changing up their props, no two parties ever alike( from my experience in attending Sit events). The most important quality in an all event catering and planning company such as Sit (from my personal experience) is having everything customized to each persons individuality. I had such a bad experience with this business. The owner don't wanna mention her name who actually is the one who is responsible for everything and who charges the clients is too rude. She is not nice to clients. Right before ordering and paying she makes a "nice" contact and gives some attention and after the gets the money, she shows her attitude every time you call for any questions regarding your event and catering. For weddings, if they design a new chair/couch for the brides, the first bride the uses that chair, has the chair named after them! This was my case! Day of event there was some confusion regarding one of the pieces of furniture and the confusion was in our part, I didn't note the contract and it was fixed in our favor/to our liking immediately- no questions no fuss. This is the first time i have catered with Sit catering. I was somewhat anxious and worried for i had never catered finger foods for a lounge party type of setup. I asked around and got mixed reviews which increased my anxiety level. I can not express how HAPPY AND IMPRESSED i was with Sona and her team. She delivered flawlessly and exquisitely. We used Sit Catering for our wedding both myself as the bride and my husband for his house. We paid close to 6k for both our packages and I wasn't happy with their level of service with what I got, or the things that were promised but not delivered. When we first met with them, the marked us as "VIP" and promised all these extra things since we were booking both houses and the rentals for the hall. Moving along to a couple weeks before our wedding when we wanted to go pick out our decor. Some of the extra things that they wrote on our contract that would be "gifts" from them since we are doing a triple booking were crossed out. When we asked why they changed their minds, they simply said that we couldn't have those things just one thing as courtesy. I really didn't care about the items that were gifted, it was more the principal. Now the picking of the decor... everything we liked was already taken or not available. As a company if you are booking multiple weddings for the same day, then have enough inventory to be able to accommodate some of the requests that clients have. Why should we have to spend so much money and not even be able to get some of the items that we actually liked. It isn't fair to me to have to "settle" for the ones that I don't like but have no choice in. Maybe you should have clients pick the decor when they sign your contract that way if someone else comes along you show them what you have available and if they are not happy or don't like the items they don't waste their money and time. After this we were picking out our house decor and I mentioned that we had stairs in our house. Now mind you were were never told about a "stair fee". Once they found out we had stairs to go upstairs to the bedroom, they told us we had to pay an extra 180 dollars because they need to hire special movers to take stuff upstairs. At this point we had paid off our balances and what were we going to do? So we said okay no choice we will pay. Fast forward to a week before our wedding when they say they will come and look at your house. I called and called and no one is answering. They forgot about our appointment and it was really inconvenient to reschedule. So they ended up coming late at night for 5 minutes. Now my husband also had some decor that needed to be done at his house, and we asked that they go see his house so that they are prepared for them when they come to design the house. They tell us that it will be 100 dollars more for them to go to his house and take a look. We live one block from each other and in all the money we paid they couldn't manage to waive 100 dollars to go one block down and tell them what needs to be moved. The day before our wedding the staff comes to set up the house. I am waiting for these "special movers" to show up since they changed me 180 dollars to hire movers to take furniture upstairs. And of course no movers. No moving company or anything it was all her staff. It wasn't the 180 dollars that bothered me it was the fact that paying 6k wasn't enough they had to throw in extra fees and lie about them because they know we have to pay at this point. My husbands house was also getting setup and since no one went prior to tell them what to move when the staff came in and started to decorate they started asking them to move stuff and had attitude when things were being moved wrong. Had they done that before everything would have been done prior to them coming. Now the items that were bought it for decor. The least they could do it remove scratches and make them look decent. Some of the stands that were delivered were so scratched that our video person could not find one place to put our items to take pictures on it. The chairs that were delivered for guests to sit on were so wobbly that people were afraid to sit on it in case it broke. I mean come on. I am not the type of person to write or say bad things but I think what they did was very unprofessional. Every time i had to send extra money for something i would Venmo them and they would never update my totals and they would call and say I still owed them money. I had to go in my transactions take a screen shot and send it as proof. I shouldn't have to worry about things like this. I think with the amount of money we spent we probably could have done it with better professionals and avoid all their ridiculous hidden fees and empty promises. I will not be using their services in the future until they change their attitudes the way they do business. read more
