Sit 'N Sleep has been my go to mattress store for many years. Most recently I delt with Brian Jens at the Pasadena location. The selection is huge, and of good quality, but most importantly the high level of customer service is unheard of these days. Brian Jens is the type is sales professional that we used to have back in the "good 'ole days". He was beyond patient, but most importantly he was committed to my satisfaction 100%. The rest of the in-store staff was equally professional and helpful as well. The only improvement I could suggest would be in the delivery process. I feel like the folks that are doing the actual deliveries have unreasonable expectations put on them regarding time. This results in them being rushed and in my case forgetting items. read more

My hubby and I are 70. Our mattress was 14 years old. He's a back and side sleeper and I'm a side sleeper. We'd wake in a.m. with achy shoulders and hips. Thought it was our age...wrong! Turns out our old firm mattress was not allowing our bodies to relax completely. We laid on a few different beds for several minutes. We chose the 2nd model we tried. Very comfy! Hey, if I'm going to spend a substantial amount of money, I need good service and a pleasant experience. I have purchased from Sit n Sleep before and should have started there first! The second I walked in I was greeted with a warm smile from Rafael Ayala. Although I had done some research I still has questions and was thankful with his impressive product knowledge and familiarity with the stock. He listened carefully to my concerns and made appropriate suggestions for several options. It can be overwhelming to shop for a bed and he was able to help me narrow down my focus quickly. Realizing we were long overdue to replace our mattress, we checked out the options in Pasadena and anticipated a long day of comparing and shopping. Fortunately for us, Sit 'n Sleep was first on the list. We received a warm and engaging welcome from NIEGEL CLEMENTS who patiently listened to what we liked about our old mattress, that we're a side and a back sleeper that like support and hoping to get the new mattress sooner than later. Combining that info with our budget, Niegel proceeded to show and have us test mattresses that best fit our needs. They all actually felt like what we were looking for and we settled on the Cloudtech Nimbus Firm Euro Top which is actually manufactured in LA. The best part, before showing us any mattresses, Niegel knew which were in stock! All this to say that we couldn't have asked for a better experience - the mattress was available for delivery the next day and after a week we've completely forgotten why we liked our old mattress. I came into this Sit 'n Sleep looking for a mattress for my client. She has some very specific requirements for her new mattress, which I explained to our salesman, Michael Robinson. Michael was very knowledgeable and a great help! With the requirements he pointed out a few beds that would be acceptable by my client. He wasn't pushy and most importantly he didn't try to upsell us on a more expensive bed. We were in and out in 30 minutes with a new bed ordered and suggestions on where we could go to grab lunch nearby! About a week before the scheduled delivery date I got a call from Michael. He told me that the bed that we had ordered was out of stock for the delivery date, and he wasn't sure if they'd be able to get it in on time. Knowing that I had a deadline to get the mattress delivered, he suggested that I come back in and he'd help me to pick a new mattress that they would be able to meet the deadline. Mattress shopping puts me to sleep. It's boring! Seriously, gimme a blankie and I can fall asleep on anything like an Ambien addict. After sleeping on my old mattress for a good number of years and collecting gawd-only-knows how many pounds of dander and dust mites, it was time to replacement it. The saleslady (Roberta) here insisted a mattress is something that needs careful consideration. She tried to make the experience a bit more interesting by suggesting that I do a "scientific" body profile. So after answering a few questions, I laid on some computerized mattress that figured out my weight distribution on the thing. Out of 4 levels of firmness, I was on the first color block level...which meant a soft mattress. Wow, really? This supposedly sophisticated body profile machine must be whacked because I certainly eat and sleep and eat and eat...AND eat. And, being profiled as a soft mattress type meant I did not put much weight on a mattress. Hmph. Well, sophisticated it may not be.... but sneaky it is. Because after getting easily flattered by a freakin' body profile machine, I was smitten and actually had some fun sleeping around.........mattress after mattress. I ended up with a Simmons Pillow-top. Selection is great here. Delivery is free. The prices are competitive...and there is a 30-day low price guarantee. Oh yeah.....once you find a mattress here, they might try to up-sell you with overpriced bed sets, mattress covers, etc. Don't get suckered. Go elsewhere for that stuff. read more

I really like this place when we first visited to purchase a new mattress for our new home. We shopped carefully as we really wanted a good mattress that can last, maybe for more than 10 years, so we are ready to splurge a little bit. Willing to splurge does not mean willing to stupidly spend our money on things that is not worth of value. I do feel like the salesperson here are helpful, but unfortunately, and maybe personally, I felt they are a little bit too hard selling (for their commission) and tend to always recommend mattresses that are more to the higher end of our budget. If it is worth $3000, we are willing to pay $3000; but not when it is worth $2000 and let them earn the markup. I know they sure do earn a lot based on how much discounts they can give us when we "kinda" saying "wow it's expensive". We went for the Aireloom higher line mattress, first mattress delivered was with a saggy bump due to delivery method, and was replaced at no replacement cost. Second one was with saggy bump as well. Complained, and customer service was not too bad as they did not ignore my complain, which I appreciate a lot. However, issue was not resolved. Our request of getting another brand of mattress was denied because "our bed frame was not compatible for that mattress", which then voided the warranty. We are not informed with any information of compatible bed frame for any particular mattress at all. It was the sales fault for not informing but the consequences is bear on us. We are still with the saggy bumped mattress, and sometimes wake up with sore neck & back due to the sagginess, a $2000-3000 mattress should not do that. If I wanted a mattress that can cause neck and back soreness in the morning, I might as well go for the $600 iKea mattress instead of this $2000+ mattress. This is not a bad place to buy your mattress, but please be aware of what you are buying and ask all questions before putting deposits. Things are extremely hard to negotiate after placing your deposit. read more

We purchased a king sized mattress and bed frame from Sit 'N Sleep last week. Customer service was good on the showroom, despite the store being busy from the labor day sale. This is where the "good" ended. A week, and two attempted deliveries later, we still do not have a bed to sleep on. The first mattress had to be rejected because there were multiple yellow stains on the "new" mattress, which would effectively void our 25 year manufacturer's warranty. We reached out to customer service to schedule a new delivery date, only to find that the second "new" mattress delivered had a hole in it when it arrived. The delivery person tried to pass off the hole as, "it was from the factory"--of course, we had to send the mattress back a second time. The mattress was not the only issue with our purchase. A day prior to our scheduled delivery date, we got a phone call from the store that our headboard was now back-ordered and could not be delivered with the mattress (fine, they will loan us another foot board to keep the bed platform in place in the mean time) and will deliver the headboard on a different date. The headboard was supposed to come with the mattress on the second delivery, but that did not happen (we are not sure when this piece will get delivered). During assembly of the bed frame, one of the extensions needed to raise the platform was also missing from the box (the delivery/assembly folks just threw out the 3 other extensions into cardboard boxes as trash--was this to hope we won't notice that there were only 3 extensions instead of 4?). After assembling the bed frame, there were spare parts (screws, pegs, etc.) all over our bed room, under the bed, our dressers, and in the hallway (but this is low priority on our list of dissatisfactions compared to the other issues mentioned). We have now scheduled a third delivery from this company. Will we have a bed at last? All we have done so far was spend countless hours and took time off of work to wait for 2 deliveries that have resulted in no bed. Sit N Sleep: Mattress heaven? Nope; it's just heaven. The place has the biggest assortment of beds I have ever seen, though they probably should have a wide assortment anyway because it is a mattress store. I give this Sit N Sleep 5 stars because of: Variety Hard beds, soft beds, fluffy beds, that-bed-you-see-on-TV-where-you-can-put-a-glass-of-wine-on-one-side-and-jump-on-the-other-and-the-wine-won't-spill beds... and much much more. If you were to spend 10 minutes trying out each bed here, it would take you a couple of days. Seriously. Plus, they have a machine that measures your body's weight distribution and then tells you what kind of bed you want. Even if it seems kind of corny, still fun to try out. Customer Service Nicest people I have ever met who work at mattress stores. It seems like they aren't desperate to sell you mattresses, so your mattress-buying experience doesn't seem forced or pressured. I had already gone to a different mattress store earlier in the day. They were so desperate to sell me a bed that they actually marked down a bed originally sold at $1999.99 down to $1199.99 and almost would not let me leave. Here, you can take as long as you need, try out as many beds as you want, and they will still stand next to you, smiling and accommodating your every need. Pillow too soft? No problem; they'll get you another one. Didn't have a good night's sleep? No problem; they'll let you take a power-nap on your favorite bed. Plus, the salespeople seem to actually know a little something about mattresses and beds. Very professional. And when we finally made the purchase, they tried to make the delivery the most convenient for us, having their driver call an hour ahead as well as giving us the time frame a day earlier. Value I got a bed valued at $899.99 for $600. Actually, that was because it was the last day of a sales event. Still, the other mattress store I had been in earlier in the day was selling beds at ridiculously high prices. $1999.99 (and then $1199.99) for a bed that was much worse than the bed I ended up buying at Sit N Sleep. I'm pretty sure they can't blame that pricing on inflation. Overall Greatest place to buy a mattress. Best pricing, best service, best beds. Only problem I can find with it, and I'm being really nit-picky here, is the location. I missed it the first time because it's on top of the Walgreens (I think it's a Walgreens; I don't exactly remember) and they didn't have a sign on Lake. I couldn't tell you whether or not they really will give you a free mattress if you find the same mattress at a different store for cheaper, because you really can't find the same mattress at a different store for cheaper. read more

Our shopping experience at Sit and Sleep couldn't have been more pleasant. There was no pressure to buy and extremely large selection of beds to choose from, price high to low. You should at least go check it out, cuz the showroom was huge! Our sale Matthew was extremely sweet and helpful, he suggested different beds based on our preferences, and told us which ones were on sale (I was looking for a DEAL!). He even hooked us up with the best bed frame and did the whole haul of our old, smelly mattress, included in the sales price...that was great customer service! The delivery itself was smooth, and the delivery guys were so polite and respectful. I felt bad for them since it was such a hot day, and they had to make 17 delivery cuz it was Sat, but they still had smiles on their faces the whole time. Overall, after mattress shopping at the Department Stores, Ikea, the Chinese furniture store...etc, Sit and Sleep eat the cake, they were hands down the best place to hunt down a mattress. I came here a week ago to purchase a mattress for my mother. I came because of the good reviews and the convenience of the location in Pasadena. Neither disapointed. This was the easiest mattress purchase ever. Everyone here was friendly and really helpful. The prices are incredible - even better than I expected. I went on a Sunday and could have had the mattress devlivered the next day, but my mother was moving so we requested Wednesday. It was delivered Wednesday just as Jason promised. This business is truly run on the Golden Rule - they treat others as they would want to be treated. I will be back soon to get a mattress for our bedroom. So my girlfriend and I have been mattress shopping for the last several months and I can tell you that The Mattress Industry makes it almost IMPOSSIBLE to apples-to-apples compare products between stores. For whatever reason, a Malibu in one chain is a Brooklyn in another and a Summer Sunset in the third. I take their arrogance and the assumption that the consumer isn't smart enough to figure it out -- or rather too lazy to figure out, personally. So we started our In Field research in Glendale. Just around the corner from the Galleria there are three or four mattress stores within a stone's throw. Sit n Sleep, Leeds, Ortho, and I can't remember the others but we started our journey at Sit n Sleep. The salesman was lovely. Showed us a variety of beds and didn't try any up sell. She liked the Evo beds, but I was more comfortable with a spring mattress. Of the remaining choices, we decided we would get the cheapest we agreed was comfortable and call it a day. That's when the work, as a consumer, comes in. Sure, Sit n Sleep says they will match a lower priced mattress but they certainly aren't in the business of helping you find those great deals advertised. Our search took us to another Leeds and a store called Last Chance Mattress Outlet in Hawaiian Gardens. No spectacular deals at either location but searching and searching allowed me to find a third advertisement with the EXACT mattress we wanted (spec for spec) for a lovely price. We went to the Sit n Sleep location in Pasadena and spoke with Jennifer who was gracious and kind and knowledgeable. I asked her if they would honor their guarantee if I could bring in a great deal and she assured me that they would. So with the paperwork in hand, we returned to the store the following day. Jennifer was not there but Orlando Larry Johnson was and greeted us warmly and told us they would be happy to treat us right and give us what they said they would. After checking with the manager and running the numbers, Mr. Johnson was able to honor the word and reputation of his company. Like Jennifer, he was warm, friendly, a consummate professional, a joy to do business with. Nothing impresses me more than great customer service and these guys are hands down, the best in the several stores I visited. Remember -- don't expect them to do your homework. The minute we walked into the store we were greeted by Wayne Hargraves who assisted us in getting a mattress and foundation that have exceeded our expectations. Best nights sleep we have had in years, no bull! The delivery was by two young men, Fernando and Jose (T84) who handled every thing with care as they had to maneuver the foundation and mattress up a very narrow staircase. They assembled every thing and tool away the old mattress and box spring. Have heard the ads for as long as I can remember (at least 4 decades) we bit and are very pleased. Furniture stores get no love, really! We must review more non-eatery places! Sit n Sleep (Lake) is inconspicuously located on the top floor of Walgreens of all places. However, once you reach the store, you'll be glad you did. Jason, the manager + salesperson, was a wonderful guy to work with. What we loved about him was that he actually knew what he was talking about and didn't hassle us into making a purchase. That is so key - we been to several mattress stores only to be so utterly disgusted by their sales tactics and lack of know-how that we had to politely stop them from talking and walked out the store. We actually didn't buy the bed until the 2nd time we came back because we couldn't decide the first time. They have a very extensive collection of beds with costs ranging from the hundreds to 20,000 *yes... 20,000... geez! baller. Beds like airloom, serta, miralux, sleep science and all different types of springs, coils, foams, tops, no tops... huge collection. We were given a sleeping bed profile which helped to narrow our bed search. It's this bed that you lie on and the sensors on the bed read your pressure exerted on the bed. Then it somehow determines a good fit. Jason was very helpful in suggesting mattresses within our price range. We ended up with a really great mattress at a great price - we even got a free comforter and enhanced bed frame (okay that could've been a gimmick but whatever, we got it free). The beds are all covered under a 10 yr warranty. Also, free delivery - like.. next 2-3 days. The only point deduction really comes from the delivery time - which wasn't something the store really could've controlled. They delivered our mattress set about 1-2hrs early, which was okay for us because my fiance happened to be in the area. However, had that not been true, they probably would've had to reschedule the delivery. But all in all - a great store, loved the salesperson --- we definitely recommend and we definitely love our new flomp-tastic bed! read more

I purchased my Temperpedic style bed 5 years ago. This was the second mattress I have purchased from this place. The first mattress is actually good quality and still sleeps well. This is the reason for two stars. This second one is pure crap. Oh and let me just say that the 8 year rule that "Larry" states on those annoying commercials is pure BS. A great mattress lasts a very long time. It doesn't retain dirt if one keeps a clean house and bed. Larry just wants to keep you coming in to buy. This latest mattress is permanently indented and must be replaced ASAP. It only lasted really 4 years because I've been procrastinating in purchasing a new one. Worse and most expensive mattress I've ever bought. If you want a Temperpedic, seek out the authentic brand. I have one of those too and it's still as perfect as it was when I bought it in 2007 - I didn't get it from Sit and Sleep!!!!
