Had a great experience with the Sit and Sleep on Lake. The process of selecting a mattress took 2 months and I never felt rushed. Here's what I liked: - The sales people were all very professional (Michael, Jose, Vicki), trying to find me the right mattress. All of them were with the company for over 10 years, which is impressive. It not only implies they have experience, but it implies Sit&Sleep is treating them well. - The selection is impressive. it's a little overwhelming, but having choice is good...believe me. If you end up choosing the wrong mattress and need to exchange it for something different, it helps to have a wide selection to choose from. - The beds are all clearly labeled for price and firmness. This isn't true at some of the local competitors. If a retail outlet doesn't have prices on the beds, it's not a good sign. Shopping for a bed is much more involved than I anticipated. I considered purchasing a bed over the Internet, however the only advantage is their liberal exchange policies (e.g. 75-day money back trial). Not being able to try and mattress prior to purchasing it just doesn't feel right to me. Sit and Sleep's 60-night sleep trial acknowledges you need to sleep on a bed for 30 days before you really know how a mattress is working for you. If it isn't working, you can exchange it for a 20% restock fee (which is negotiable...many of their competitors offer more attractive restock deals). Originally gave them a 5-star rating, however it's been 10 days since I was suppose to get a credit ($141.69) for a mattress protector that didn't fit. Product was returned on 2/10/16. Emailed Jose Gaeta on 2/17...still no response. Called the store and spoke with Vicki...said she'd look into it and call me back. No call back. Is it really necessary to have to "bug" them to get a credit for a returned item? One word: disrespectful. read more

The best way to sum up our experience here is that we were well taken care of. As we entered the store, we were warmly greeted by Joe. We told him we were interested in seeing the Tempurpedics, and he walked us through the different types and the differences between them. After that, he left us on our own so we could really get comfortable. We proceeded to spend the next 45 minutes or so comparing the different feels of the beds, and he'd check in periodically to answer any questions we had, but was never "in your face". It was the perfect balance of attention and alone time. Once we thought we settled on one we liked, we took a break to grab lunch and really THINK about the purchase, as Tempurpedics are not cheap. We returned to the store and discussed some financial concerns, and he showed us all of the options within our range that were a close match to what we originally liked. Long story short, we settled on a great Tempurpedic at a really great price, with a couple of pillows. I strongly suggest going in to see Joe, and please be honest with him about what you want as well as your budget. I promise he will take good care of you. The store is on the second level above Walgreens, and had a large lot in the back. First two hours of parking are free. read more

We had a great experience here. We dealt with Arsen and he was very helpful and we're as confident as we can be at this point, that we got a bed that my wife and I will be very happy with. We spent about $1000 more than we wanted but we got a great deal on the mattress that we selected. I like negotiating and have a hard litmus test as to whether we got a decent to great deal. In fact I called around to other stores and they couldn't get close. Admittedly, we bought a Kingsdown which is rare on the West Coast but I called a few places on the other coast and they were about 4-$500 higher. Expect them to have up to 20% to move after the sale price. This isn't guaranteed but a good ballpark. Arsen wasn't pushy at all and was very knowledgeable and fun to deal with. We sat on the bed for about an hour researching with our phones and he'd give us plenty of breathing room. Mattress industry warranties are purportedly hard to actually qualify for unless you have a giant problem but Arsen said that he sees warranty issues all the time and goes to bat for the customer even if it doesn't technically qualify. I hope to not have to find out if this is true but got some peace of mind from it. read more

Walked in and felt pretty overwhelmed as this was my first time buying a mattress. Sit 'n Sleep has a huge selection of mattresses. Was greeted by Jose Gaeta who instantly started helping me. He had me go over the test bed that allowed me to find what kind of bed I would prefer. I was skeptical at first, but after the test I was surprised to find the beds they recommended were very comfortable, while beds that weren't recommended didn't please me at all. After the test, it became easy to narrow down which beds I was going to choose. I wanted a sheet so I could see how the bed felt with a sheet on and Jose helped me get one so that I could do the testing. Every now and then he would come by to see if I had any questions during the process. Even though I took 2 hours he never showed signs of impatience and was always helpful. Overall a great experience, a person can do all the research you want but you have to come in and test the beds yourself. Would recommend! read more

We decided to invest in a new bed for our new house and I am VERY glad we did. We fell in love with Aireloom mattresses when randomly stopped by Macy's and dreamed of their $3,500 "hotel collection" mattress. Sit and Sleep had a bed that was just as comfortable for under half the price, still an Aireloom. Service was great, delivery and set up was great, Matthew was awesome and helpful and we are in love with our new bed. I decided to check out this location because I had bought a Groupon that would give me a nice discount on a new mattress. I was a little nervous going in because I knew I wanted a queen size mattress, box springs and frame all for a good deal. My previous mattress shopping experience consisted of Ikea which was not exactly the same thing. When my boyfriend and I walked in, we were almost immediately greeted by Larry Johnson who started showing us different mattresses. He proceeded to explain about The Body Diagnostic Machine and we decided to try it. Afterward, we knew exactly how firm of a mattress we needed and it fit right in with what we wanted. However, we found that most the mattresses were $1000+ which was a bit out of what we wanted to spend. After a lot of trying out mattresses (I'm talking maybe a couple of hours), we found a mattress that we immediately loved. The best part was that it was affordable and actually even under my budget. However, I wanted to make sure I was getting the best deal and after doing a little bit of research, I knew what price I wanted to pay for it. Larry was excellent to work with, and after a little negotiating, agreed to the price I was asking for. I was afraid he would be a little annoyed that we were going with the cheaper option (even with a Groupon) but he was perfectly fine with this and did not try to push us to buy anything else. The only downside of this whole experience is that when the bed game, the delivery men could not get the box-springs upstairs. I told them to leave it there and we'll try it - so they did. We were able to get it upstairs just fine and I almost felt that they were trying to get me to say they could take it back so I would have to order a split mattress (probably more expensive) because that was their suggestion. Also, when we started putting the frame together, we found that a piece was bent incorrectly and therefore the frame could not be assembled. We called Sit 'N Sleep and explained the situation to Jason who had no problem deciphering what was wrong with the bed (even when I butchered the terminology since I have no idea what different parts of a bed frame are called). He asked us if we could bring in the frame and he would replace it for us - which we did. We had no problems getting the new frame and once we got home, it assembled easily. I'd give this place less stars for giving us a defective bed frame in the first place but since this review is for the store itself, I give them 5 stars for customer service. Thanks Larry and Jason! You both have made me a very satisfied customer. It's been almost a week since we've gotten this bed and I love it even more now than when we got it. My only problem? I never want to get out of bed. Mattress shopping is a weird experience. We first went to Mattress City on Colorado because of the Yelp reviews, but the experience was so bizarro, meaning a little annoying. The man working there had a cheesy, stereotypical used car sales guy approach. We looked at a mattress that was over $1500, then down to a little over $900, then to $850 after he "talked to the owner." I mean... we're talking mattresses. We left and went to Sit n Sleep. Did some research online for a relatively inexpensive Queen bed. Then was passing by the store, so stopped in and dealt with Sheldon, who was nice and professional without the pressure I was afraid of when shopping for a mattress, and got a great deal on a mattress/box/frame set, delivered free. The deal I got was comparable or better than the deals I was looking at online, and I got to test out the bed, get it delivered and assembled, and have the comfort of having dealt with someone face to face. Did go to a few other mattress stores, which is valuable for price-matching, negotiation, and comparison of different manufacturers and beds, but Sleep and Sit had the broadest selection and experience and ended up cutting the best deal too. (I would also recommend Connie's as being very friendly to deal with and a mom & pop shop - considered going with them, but ultimately liked the mattress at Sleep & Sit better). read more

My husband & I have been researching an adjustable bed for some time (Spring of 2015). Finally we stepped into S'NS and were greeted by Joseph - a salesman who was not pushy but knew his stuff on all the adjustable beds. We needed help moving our bed a few inches over so that I can have space to open and use my drawers that is blocked by the nightstand. Even though only the mattress and base was purchased from Sit 'n Sleep and the bed frame and nightstand was not, Chris and Hector was willing to help me move the bed over and moved the nightstand too. They made sure that I can open my drawers fully and that our base works before they left. They are also very professional, fast, efficient, and wore their masks the whole time. She really listened to my preferences and what I was looking for and thoughtfully recommended mattresses accordingly. I also appreciated that she encouraged me to take the mattress test even though I was confident I wanted a firm mattress. It is clearly evident that she is an expert in her field. I went in looking for a new mattress since the one I had was totally crappy. I had such great service from Michael. He had me test out all the beds with corresponding pillows. I had no idea how a pillow can make such a huge difference. He was very helpful and knowledgeable and not at all pushy which is a complete plus in my book. Finally after looking around and testing out a bit I chose my bed and was so blown away by the pillows that I had to buy some as well. I lucked out because the bed I enjoyed the most and was the most impressed with happened to be on clearance. I got a great deal that I also what a king size bed along with the mattress. I had my bed delivered the next week. The two men that came and set it up did it so quickly. It took like 15 to 20 minutes to set up a king size bed frame and set up the mattress. Since the first few minutes I walked in to sit and sleep and was greeted by Michael the experience was amazing. They have a great knowledgeable staff. And quick and efficient delivery staff. Buying a mattress at this store was a pleasure, thanks to the salesperson/manager Jason. I came in looking for an entry-level mattress (student budget), and he stuck by that -- no bashing on other mattress brands or stores, no attempts to upsell, no impatience to get to other customers, and no pressure -- just trying to help me find a comfortable mattress for a reasonable price. I much appreciated his help and friendly service, and I came away with a queen set for $400. He even threw in a basic bedframe and delivery for free. I just received delivery of the mattress an hour ago -- they came exactly on time (at the start of the 4 hour range), and were in and out within 10 minutes. Went in looking for a new mattress, since the old one was giving me back problems. Michael greeted us and had me lie on this computer bed to help me figure what bed would give me the best support. So I was able to find the bed I was looking for with pretty much the first bed I lied down on! But the salesman Michael showed us the different types that would be good for my back and explained really well what their function was. Then after I found the one with the function I liked he also helped us find one in my budget. I'm happy he took the time to really make sure we got a bed that we can sleep in comfortably for years to come. Welllll, let me tell you - as annoying and off-putting those radio ads are, if you want to buy a mattress, or anything to do with bedroom furnishings, go to Sit 'n Sleep on Lake Avenue in Pasadena and see Jason, the store manager. The man knows exactly what to do to make you comfortable in making a tough buying decision (He's actually quite over-qualified, having been a regional director for the company for many years prior to his deployment at this store). They have a computerized system which determines the correct firmness, etc. to suit your individual need. they also carry some very nice night stands, dressers, etc. at very competitive prices. I bought a beautiful mattress, a sweet bed, dresser and nightstand which were all delivered and set up in my house at no charge. Shop around, but do NOT resist visiting Jason at Sit 'n Sleep. He has become somewhat of a local celebrity on this site and it is well deserved. BTW - the store is upstairs at the old Tower Records location. read more

I cannot express how awesome my experience was getting my new mattress. Our sales associate (whose name escapes me) was absolutely helpful and my boyfriend and I clicked with her immediately. Had a pretty good experience purchasing a new mattress with the help of Roberta. We were given ample time to try out each model, comparing back and forth. Each time Roberta left us alone and gave us as much time as we wanted on the mattresses. There was no upselling at all, we told her our budget and she just worked with it. We just moved to California and our mattress had seen the last of its days. We were not thrilled to need a mattress in a global pandemic, but after seeing the reviews of Sit 'n Sleep online - we made a beeline in hopes of finding something right away. Our salesperson, Brian J., was awesome. He greeted us and our two kids cheerfully at the front door with our wild kids - and immediately gave us an overview of how to safely use the mattress protectors and follow store protocol because of COVID. He offered us a 3 minute diagnostic test on a computerized mattress and when complete, escorted us to three mattresses which fit the criteria from the report. He completely nailed it. We bought the third model he showed us - a perfect blend of the first two. Better yet, they delivered it the NEXT business day!! He knew we needed one right away and ensured that the products he showed us would be deliverable on time. He was super patient with our kids (we have no childcare here as new residents) - and powered through the admin of the purchase with lightening speed. I liked to think it was a team effort because we were so decisive but if we were there 35 minutes - it was a lot. I was really impressed with his knowledge of the products he showed us and how quickly he answered our questions. I was also pleased that they were taking preventative measures seriously - many stores at the moment are not doing so. We would recommend this shop to anyone who needs a mattress - and Brian J is totally top notch. We are loving our new purchase and would highly recommend Sit N Sleep! read more
