What a big mistake (that no name mattress store sold us a terrible mattress.) So when it came time to replace the mattress, I knew I had to come back here. I was not disappointed. Jennifer was attentive, charming, and very knowledgable. She took the time to explain everything to us and helped us find a lovely mattress and two high-end pillows. On top of that, Sit n' Sleep has very high Covid safety standards. When I walked in I almost had an attitude because I felt defeated due to my lack of knowledge. I was approached by Rafael Ayala. He was a very young gentleman so I thought "what would he know about this either?" Blind leading the blind, right?! Well I was wrong. This young man was so knowledgeable I was shocked. He informed me on everything from firmness, adjustable beds, pillow top mattresses, mattress protectors, the warranty and all about the different brands that are sold and their pros and cons. I came here after recommendations and seeing high ratings from Yelp. I really should have listened to everyone and talked to Vicki, I guess that was my fault but I thought if a store/company is that great, shouldn't all the employees be great? It was the a pretty good time for me to buy myself a new mattress because my previous one was getting old and it was memorial day weekend so I was guaranteed good deals. The problem was the sales person I spoke to. At first he seemed helpful but near the end I started to feel like he was just eagerly trying to sell me a mattress rather than helping me get a good deal on something that suited me. To make it worse, he told me that he'd fill out the free bedsheets form for me and send it in. When I called back about the status of my application, he told that he would never say such a thing and that it was against their policy to do so. Rather than just apologizing for the miscommunication and finding a way to help me still get my sheets, he tried to shift the blame on me and then told me it was too late to apply for it now. Luckily, I checked it on my own and found that I still had plenty of time to do it. Had he not been so focused on avoiding the blame and focused more on customer service, this review could have easily been a 4 or 5. What a jerk. read more

Went to Sit 'n Sleep and was greeted by Alejandro Estrada. After testing mattresses we ordered, got a great deal and was very impressed with Alejandro's service and kindness. Delivery of our mattress was great! Delivery personnel arrived with masks and gloves. They were very careful which I was grateful for. Well, the mattress was not what I expected, much to my dismay. Went back to Sit n' Sleep. Alejandro was empathetic to my lack of sleep and bad back and we were able to return our mattress! I had a terrible experience at this store. I purchased a Tempur-pedic mattress that didn't work out for me. Well within the 90-day trial period it took me several attempts to make a return. The store, in particular the manager, made it very difficult to take back the mattress employing a gambit of used-car-salesman like tactics to avoid the return. It took a complaint call to their corporate office to get the matter resolved. In my opinion you should avoid this store and the empty "deals" it promises. Do your homework, read the reviews and shop around. I ended up purchasing a top of the line Simons Beautyrest mattress that this store doesn't even offer. read more

Where to start... You can't find the place because they have no sign. It's above a Walgreens in the back, and there is only one small sign in the back. I called to see where they were after driving around and was told, "Look up" (read: stupid) by employee Jennifer Cho. Then I had a Groupon during their Labor Day sale. The Groupon is basically a gift certificate for a set amount of money (200 bucks). I had two since Groupon sold them back in April 2011. The first time I used it (at the Montebello store), I was treated like an a$$hole by the manager there since he didn't even know what Groupon was. Supposedly, according to Miss Cho, the corporate office decided to start imposing rules not mentioned in their LEGAL document (the Groupon) after selling them to people. That is plain scummy! Honor your legal agreements or don't enter into them. BTW, while at Pasadena, they called the manager at Montebello (the Jerk-hole) and he was a supreme dickface again, even cracking jokes about me in front of me. Next time, I'm going elsewhere. Sit N Sleep is for arseholes who want to be treated like arseholes. read more

Vickie, self-proclaimed "mattress geek," made our experience an excellent one. She asked us what we thought we wanted then had us try out the body sensor to see what types of mattresses would work best for my husband and I. It turns out, we were wrong but she was able to show us several options in our comfort range and had suggestions for what signs to look for while we laid down, such as heat radiating back, pressure points, muscle stress, etc. In the end, we found a mattress that, left to our own devices, we would have never even thought about purchasing, but ended up being the right choice and exactly on budget. read more

We were helped by Brian, the assistant manager, who was very knowledgeable. We especially liked that he was not pushy about trying to make a sale. The Pasadena location has several hand sanitizer stations throughout the store. They also give customers liners to lay on when testing out the mattresses. We found a great mattress and didn't have to wait days for delivery. The gentlemen who delivered the mattresses wore masks, were quick, and were in and out of my house within 5 minutes. Only suggestion I would give is to have the delivery guys wear shoe covers (booties) so they don't walk into homes with shoes on. read more

I had put off getting a new mattress because it looked as onerous as buying a new car. I dreaded so many choices and expected pressure as well as games from the salesman. My experience at the Pasadena store couldn't have been more pleasant. Michael Robinson is the ideal sales person - congenial, knowledgeable and pressure free. The store has a computer hook up that directs the buyer to the kind of mattress that is best suited to that person's concerns. Michael then shows the mattresses on the floor in that category and encourages the buyer to test as many and as long as desired. I went back and tested a second day. My new bed and mattress were delivered free of charge by Kevin and David. I live in the hills and they managed to get the heavy, bulky material up my driveway, up two flights of stairs and around tight corners without doing damage to the house or to themselves. It was a masterful job under hot and difficult circumstances. They set up the bed, showed me how the controls work and took away my old bed frame. In this often negative and chaotic world, my experience at SitnSleep was welcome, pleasant, efficient and calm. read more

First time mattress shopping, and I couldn't have had a worse experience. There were plenty of salespersons on the floor when I had first arrived, but I didn't get so much as a look in my direction until I had already walked through half the store. When two more of my party, who also weren't helped, finally made it over to me to ask if I had found anything I liked, I didn't have an answer. When I had begun to consider leaving to try a different store in the area, the clouds parted and a ray of hope in the form of a employee approached me. He asked me if I had been helped and I replied honestly. Since I had no applicable knowledge, he wanted to show me different types of mattresses to determine what felt best to me. I wholeheartedly agreed, and he suggested using some kind of bed technology that assesses pressure points to approximate what level of firmness I should be looking for in a mattress. He then left to put my name down to be next in line. I wandered around for a while longer before he returned to inform me I could go measure my mattress compatibility. After he started the process, he left again. The calculations were rendered and I was left to wander again with new knowledge that I wasn't sure what to do with. He was now helping someone else who came into the store and I had never felt so alone. I felt as though I had invested a significant amount of time in this store and wanted to just buy a mattress and leave at this point. But I was deserted, and my friends were getting annoyed with the lack of customer service. We gave it another 10 minutes before we decided our time was better spent playing in traffic. Who cares if you spent 2 million dollars on the equivalent of a Dr. Scholl's shoe measuring machine for mattresses if you won't help someone who was all but screaming, "Shut up and take my money!"? 2 stars because there had been a glimmer of hope mixed in with all the abandonment. read more

We just had the best mattress shopping experience with the staff at Sit 'n Sleep Pasadena! Ken was so patient and showed us so many options until we found one that we liked. But when we called and Ken was out sick one day, Jennifer picked up the phone and was a superstar in helping us resolve our issues even though Ken was going to get the credit for the sale. My wife and I knew nothing about mattress shopping before coming here, but Jennifer took great care of us. We needed a mattress that would support my wife properly both during pregnancy and afterward and Jennifer was very knowledgeable, helping us understand how different technologies and firmness levels could provide different benefits and helping us decide whether those were ultimately worth it based on our priorities and price range. We ended up getting a King Koil luxury mattress with a platform and a pillow for our 1 year old baby girl, who also loved Jennifer. I have really mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand Vicki seems really helpful. But the mattress I originally picked out had such a toxic odor to it, plus it was sagging in the middle from day-one that I couldn't stand it and had to return it. Was a real pain to get them to take it back. of course the "inspector" said it was within their limits.. give me a break, a brand new mattress should not sag at all! I think the majority of my complaint is with the mattress industry themselves, but Sit-n Sleep should have a better return policy. They have a 20% restocking fee if you return a mattress. Which they said they would "waive", but then turned around and charged me full price for the second mattress (no discount at all, just the tag price!) , so they really got the restocking fee that way. Wish I had just gone someplace else. read more

If you are looking for an organic mattress, completely free of polyurethane, you will not find it here. I had a decent experience with Sit N Sleep - nice, helpful staff and low pressure sales. However, I came in explicitly looking for a bed free of polyurethane, and then the salesmen sold me a bed that I found out upon delivery has polyurethane in the lining. Evidently, almost EVERY bed these days has some polyurethane in the lining and also all beds are sprayed with fire retardant chemicals. If this is ok with you (and most people don't mind), then you can find a nice bed at Sit N Sleep. However, if you want an organic mattress free of chemicals, try checking out The Green Cradle in Culver City (which is expensive but amazing), PJ's Sleep Company (organic beds are on back order but all prices are set so there is no hassle negotiations!) or do as I did and make the long drive to The Natural Mattress Store in San Fran and buy yourself an amazing bed. Thankfully, Sit N Sleep let me return the bed on the day of delivery for a full refund. However, I really wish they would have let me know about the polyurethane sooner. I did ask several times about it. read more

Keeping it straight and simple here. If you need to buy a mattress this is the place to go. Ask for Michael Robinson. What a great personality. We mostly knew what we wanted to buy but because we also knew it was going to be expensive we wanted to understand all of our options. Michael showed us around, talk us through the pros and cons, never once trying to push us towards the more expensive option. After determining manufacturer it was time to narrow down the firmness etc of the bed. We kept bouncing between types, asking questions. Michael answered our questions, offered advice but also most importantly knew when to walk away for a bit while we bounced around on the mattresses. In the end Michael truly helped us pick the right mattress for us, even though it took almost 2 hours, ever patient and never feeling like he was pushing us towards something. read more

Michael was my salesman and did an excellent job in educating me on the multiple types of mattresses, bed frames, and sheets.
