Sit 'n Sleep has a phone system that prevents people from calling directly to the store. But even after getting the individual store numbers, they do not answer the phone. Called the number for Pasadena, West Covina, and Rowland Heights locations repeatedly on Friday over the course of 2 hours. Listened to obnoxious music and no one ever answered. Called and spoke to a Customer Service rep who gave me the direct number for Pasadena and West Covina. Phone rang and rang and rang. No one ever picked up at either locations. Called Customer Service rep again, who took my number and offered to call Pasadena and ask them to call me. Never happened...he was unable to get through himself. Then Sat. I called the stores again, no answers at Pasadena or West Covina. Called Customer Service and spoke with a supervisor, who admitted they have a system that does not lead to the stores. She tried to say she would ask them to call me, at which point I was done with Sit 'N Sleep. read more

I was in a situation which MattressFirm in Alhambra dropped the ball and try to give me another mattress instead of the one I ordered .. more of bait and switch... So I headed to Sit'nSleep late in the evening just hoping I can get something quick. But the experience was much more than that. Not only they solved my issue but made sure my buying experience and the choice I was making is a solid one. Ken was the sales person and he was very knowledgeable.The advice he offered was very solid. It is not cheap to buy mattress and takes effort to do it. I felt like he made sure the buying experience and decision is made based on investment on the time and effort and not just price. I am very happy with the purchase. The delivery was also very smooth. They email/call you to confirm the time on the night before. You will get another call right about 30min before they arrive. They check the path to your bedroom, set it up,take the box/wrapping, show you the function, take your old bed and off they went. It was less than 15min and I had a new bed. I want to share what a great shopping experience I had at the Sit n Sleep Store in Pasadena when I went shopping for a mattress for my daughter. I was helped by a delightful salesman named Micheal Robinson who I purchased a mattress from before at another store. When I found out he now worked at the Pasadena store, I was more than happy to drive two cities away to have him help me again! What I appreciate the most about Mr. Robinson is how he took the time to carefully explain the mattresses to me so I could make the right decision that would not only be healthy for me and my family but also fit my budget too! This was so important to me since I usually get a bit overwhelmed when shopping for a product which offers so many different choices but I needed someone who could help me make the best decision for me. I felt a bit like Goldilocks when testing the mattress but, he was extremely patient with me as I tried each one. I wish he sold cars and houses because I would buy one of each from him too!! Folks, we live in a service oriented world and those companies that understand this and hire salespeople like him are the ones that stay in business and stand the test of time while others fail. After doing a bunch of online research and based on reviews by other Yelpers, I drove out to the Pasadena Sit & Sleep (from Hollywood), and I have to say that it was worth the trip! The Store Manager, Jason, spent nearly 2 hours with us, and helped us find an incredible bed at a fantastic price. I cannot say enough about what a pro Jason is! Attentive, knowledgeable and helpful without any pressure whatsoever! He made the whole process easy and a complete pleasure. And i LOVE LOVE LOVE my new bed! The only "fly in the ointment" for me was the delivery service that Sit & Sleep uses... they screwed up my delivery TWICE! But after both delivery blunders, Jason stepped up and made things right. Be warned...once you try their product you will never go back!!! From the moment we walked into Sit 'n Sleep and Michael Robinson shook our hand it was a positive experience. Never high pressure just an informative and educational experience. Michael gave us a sleep test, walked us through the many alternatives, and finally worked with us to choose the right combination of factors (including financing). Everything went as promised through the delivery, set up, and our first nights sleep. The legs for the frame were higher than expected so shorter ones were delivered and installed the next day! WOW, walked into the Pasadena Sit and Sleep shopping for "a" mattress - Joseph educated us on the importance of choosing the right mattress I always thought a mattress was just a mattress, he was so passionate and informative and opened our eyes to a whole other "Mattress" world. We visited the Pasadena, CA store and were greeted by Wayne Hargraves, the assistant manager. He asked us a few questions to get an idea of what we were looking for. He took us over to the "bed match" machine, we answered a few more questions about our likes and dislikes in a bed, how we sleep and if either of us had a problem with acid reflux while sleeping, which I do. Then we laid down and the machine ran it's program to determine what types of bed would suit us best. We spent the next hour or so trying out our choice of beds, no pressure. Wayne was so helpful and patient showing us the many types of beds and explaining the differences between one and another. I can't say enough abut Wayne. His experience in the mattress business made us feel confident we were buying a quality bed. We chose a Stearns and Foster Hybrid king size. We decided to take the offer of 12 months same as cash. It made buying the bed that much easier. Wayne offered to upgrade us to a better frame at no extra charge. We set up the delivery for Saturday, with a 3 hour delivery window. They called us Friday night to tell us they would be here between 11 and 2. Erik & Jesus showed up at 12:00 and were very friendly and efficient. They removed our old bed (at no charge) and gave us plenty of time to vacuum where our old bed was. They had the new bed set up in minutes and wanted to make sure we were fully satisfied with their service and if there was anything else they could do before leaving. We shook their hands, said thanks and sent them on their way. Now, we have 60 days to sleep on our new bed and hope for the best nights sleep ever. I will update this review after our break-in period. So far, our experience with Sit'n Sleep is totally 5 star! read more

So we got there super late and Vicki was able to help us. She was in no way pushy or rushed even though it was the end of her shift. She showed us a variety of beds (of all different prices) and just talked to us calmly about the differences between the beds as we went along. I recently purchased a mattress here, Alejandro was the sales rep helping me. There are several mattress stores here in Pasadena, in fact sit and sleep has competition from at least two other mattress stores right there on Lake Avenue. I I had gone into three different stores over the week and couldn't be more happy that I chose to make my purchase from sit 'n sleep. First of all, the quality of the product is simply outstanding. I've not yet had that "readjustment period" that salesmen warned me about before buying. I chose a Simmons BeautyRest and it feels as comfortable and natural to my back as it did on the floor. I've had no buyer's remorse or needed any time to get used to sleeping on it. Secondly, Alejandro was just very, very non-pushy and very very knowledgeable about the product and it was just an easy decision to make to be able to make a purchase in such a non-pressure environment. He was kind, friendly and didn't rush me at all. The transaction was a breeze and it was in my home the next day! The delivery guys also took away my old mattress and were here and gone in about only ten minutes. If you're on the fence about what to buy, then keep looking but if I were you, I'd definitely keep my search going at sit 'n sleep. Thanks Alejandro for such an easy experience! read more

My wife and I just moved into our apartment in Pasadena and wanted to look for a new mattress that will last us the life of our stay in our current apartment and in our future homes. JUSTIN DOERNER is the man! We didn't know what to expect when first walking in but there was no pressure into buying anything at all. We gave him our sincerest idea of what we were looking for and we were off testing different mattresses. Once we laid on a few mattresses he suggested one that I didn't even know of. We fell in love with it. He even let us feel it out for a good half hour and didn't rush us into any decision. I had a fabulous experience purchasing a new mattress at Sit and Sleep today. First, this company has a computerized program that scans your body to find the most supportive mattress for your body type and shape. I haven't bought a bed in 8 years so this technology was pretty cool! Ken was the sales person who assisted me and he was extremely helpful, knowledgable, and creative in meeting my needs (and I can be picky) and making sure I got the very best bed. He was attentive while also giving me my space. He took great care of me. Also, this was the second store I went to on my search and they had a great selection with varying price points. I ended up with a fabulous luxury bed that was priced at over 6K but because it was the last one in stock and they were selling the floor model I got it for only $1975. There were also several great choices lower than that (wide range of prices). It was a great experience from start to finish. The products and service were both top notch...and Ken, in particular, was awesome! I can't wait for my bed to be delivered on Saturday! We went here to buy a bed for my father. We found a very comfortable twin and also purchased a headboard and footboard for him. Everything was supposed to be delivered together before he moved in. When the call came about delivery time, I was told that the headboard / footboard would not be delivered until over a week later. It was a Saturday and I called Roberta, our salesperson, who apologized and apologized. She said when she looked in the computer to place our order, there were a number of this item in stock. She said she would call the warehouse on Monday to see what happened and would get right back to me. I didn't hear from her on Monday or on Tuesday. On Wednesday I called the store only to find that she was out until Saturday. The day before delivery of the headboard / footboard, I though I would call customer service to see if, in fact, there was a delivery scheduled. Well, wouldn't you know it, it wasn't on the schedule. Once again I called Roberta. All she said was "I'm sorry." THIS IS THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. Needless to say, I canceled the order for the headboard / footboard. Next time I have to buy a bed, I'm going elsewhere. Terrible customer service here. read more

This was a typical mattress showroom. The customer service was great when I bought a mattress from a Mr. Palafox, but when I came to pick it up, not only was the mattress not there, but neither was that same friendly customer service. Unfortunately, Mr. Palafox wasn't working, because he probably could have salvaged the sale. Even more unfortunate was that it was the store manager and another representative, Lana I believe, that provided me, a person with 15 years of sales and customer service experience, with THE WORST most insulting experience I've ever had at any retail establishment. I'm the type of person that won't return a meal at a restaurant when they give me something entirely wrong... I cancelled my mattress order. I will NEVER consider buying anything from this establishment. Why? Because it is a breeding ground for slimy sales people who only care about getting that next sales "widget". I could elaborate more as to what happened, but they wasted so much of my time, I would rather move on with my life and never deal with Sit 'n Sleep again. My advice... Spare yourself the disappointment and shop somewhere else. read more

SCAM ALERT! Sit 'n Sleep tried to pull the oldest trick in the book. Bought a mattress, wanted a firmer model, choose a new mattress (paid the restocking fee) and set up delivery date. On the delivery date, the drivers say they've "discovered a stain" and send pictures of stain to customer service. Keep in mind there was no stain on this mattress. Customer service told me they would not leave the new mattress unless I pay the full amount on the spot (I had already paid the difference of the new mattress vs. the old mattress). Furthermore, they would not leave the old mattress unless I paid the full amount. I finally got them to leave the old mattress and immediately called my credit card company to dispute all the charges. Beware of this scam that is very common in the mattress business. read more
