Just got back from a 2 week trip abroad and cannot sing LA Pet Sitting enough praises for the care that our Roland (exotic shorthair cat) received while we were away! Our former pet sitter moved away recently so we were nervous about finding someone like her. Thankfully, we did! All of the upfront communication was done by email. Brooke was very prompt at all replies and me being a phone person - I didn't need to bc she was so well organized and thorough. We were very impressed at the attention to detail on the pet evaluation questionnaire, which also included nuances like lighting preferences, trash and mail. After these details were captured, an in person meet and greet was set so we could meet the sitter in person and show them the ropes. Appreciated this aspect bc vibes are important especially with animals and your home! We knew there was a match when our boy jumped on Paulette's lap! He never does that! Haha We were so blessed to have Paulette assigned to us. Our cat took a liking to her instantly and the daily reports she sent gave us piece of mind while we were away. I would definitely agree that Brooke and her team are the best...i was worried that we were leaving our fur baby alone the whole weekend but our cat's guardian angel, Gary, was absolutely phenomenal. With everything shutting down during the Covid-19 epidemic thing got harrowing enough, but with the uncertainty of everything Brooke came through for me with flying colors. I was going out of town the day after our consultation and was a little worried about having to find a replacement if things didn't pan out. Luckily the sitter, Nick, was prompt, asked great questions, and totally eased my mind. I knew our cats were in good hands. And Brooke was communicative, prompt, and helpful through the whole process. Plus their rates are very reasonable - $26 per visit to drive over and to feed and check in on our cats is more than reasonable!! And the service reports are so cute! Getting one of those pop in my inbox on our vacation brightened my day knowing the boys were taken care of. We didn't need much - just drop the food and go - but Nick took the extra time to try and bond with the cats and checked that the litter box didn't need changing. Which it did! I thought they'd be fine for the few days we were gone but sure enough someone pooped outside the box cuz they were unhappy we were gone. I recently contacted this service via their website to find a sitter for my pet. I had contacted one of the recommended sitters on their site. It claimed that it would take approximately 48 hours I think for them to contact me. Days went by and they didn't. So, I called their main service number to see if perhaps the person was gone, again giving them the benefit of the doubt but that I'd still like to talk to someone to become a client. Once again, days went by and no one ever called me. So, two problems I have with this. One, if your service is so busy that you can't take new clients on, just let us know. Put a message on your website, send them an email or call back. Not contacting someone sends a very clear message that their business doesn't matter to you. Two, if your service is set up so that you are actually taking business or new clients but perspective clients that wish to spend good money can't reach you, then your service needs to really examine how you are fielding new clients. In the mean time, as a business person myself, I found it very telling. As a result, I had to contact other businesses to get the help I needed because I was never contacted. So, this is my experience and not a good one particularly when there was nothing demanding about my request considering I have a young healthy pet with no special needs that simply needed basic help with getting food and water nor was I demanding, unkind or problematic in my request for help from this service. At the end of the day, even if a client isn't ideal which I can assure was not the case, you have to communicate on a very basic level and that you can or can't offer them help in a timely fashion, otherwise why are you in business? read more

The first time you use them you have to have a home Visit and fill out some paperwork. But anytime after that that you decide to use them is just a simple click online to request pet sitting services. We've been on the hunt for a new pet sitter ever since Sitter 4 Paws stopped accepting clients who have insulin needs. We were interviewing a few different sitters in the area to see who was most likely to fit our needs/made us most comfortable and so I reached out to LA pet sitting for a consultation. It took them a few days to get back to me, but eventually Brooke did and sent me a bunch of new client forms to fill which I did thinking that they were mostly for information gathering purposes/so that the sitter could come prepared with questions. She also told me that she would be in touch the following day with an invoice for the service. Everything went fine with the visit and I thought the sitter was nice; however afterwards I didn't hear back from Brooke and since it took her a minute to get to me in the beginning as well I figured I may as well reach out asking for a quote. She promptly sent me one requesting that I respond stating, and this is verbatim, "Please note that we cannot finalize this reservation until we hear back from you." I did not respond as the quote was higher than I'd expected (not their fault as their prices are well outlined, I just didn't add things up right I guess) and if I'm honest it kind of irked me how it took them a while to get back to all my correspondences when other candidates were much faster, cheaper and made me feel a lot safer with leaving my boys in their care. I thought that would be the end of it; but four days later Brooke sends me an invoice for service for the dates we had discussed in the new client forms. I thought that was odd, but it was the holiday season and I was busy so I figured it was an oversight on their part and just ignored it (dumb in retrospect.) Fast forward to Christmas morning I get a call from the LA pet sitting sitter stating that she can't find the keys. I was shocked and apologized telling her that I hadn't signed up for service and that we had gone with a different option for our needs. I later got a cancellation e-mail from Brooke with a new invoice for our "cancelled service." I responded stating that I did not believe I needed to pay this since I'd never formally requested service to begin with and through a lot of back and forth I found out that the "consultation" is only no-strings attached in that you can cancel it; but they basically treat the consultation and paperwork as a full service request. She also stated that the " Please note that we cannot finalize this reservation until we hear back from you" was part of a boiler plate text that Brooke just pasted into the email (I don't think that absolves her of responsibility in this misunderstanding, but whatever)... Anyway, we then got ANOTHER (barely) reduced invoice email that stated that we needed to pay for the full day of Christmas service (the sitter only showed up for a few minutes in the morning), the medication fees, the holiday rate, the new client set-up fee and two cancellation fees; all which amounted to $135. I found that rather ridiculous. This misunderstanding was clearly mutual and while I would have been happy to pay for the sitter's single Holiday visit ($45) and the new client fees ($30) I think it's rather bullshit that she wanted us to pay for an extra visit, medication fees (no medication was administered) and cancellation fees when Brooke also had a part to play in this misunderstanding. Also, I say "wanted" because a $13.50 "overdue" fee was tacked onto the total bill this morning. The previous invoice, might I add, was sent on the 26th of December at 10:06 p.m. It had no link to navigate towards where to pay it and I didn't think I had access to their portal since I'd never signed up for it. I had tried to figure it out at the time, but I was with family and all that hubbub and figured it would be fine if I dealt with it when I returned from the Holidays (clearly it was not.) I find it distasteful that I was charged so much for a misunderstanding that was caused by language both on her website and email correspondences. That said, again, the sitter herself was nice and I'm regretful that she had to leave her home on Christmas morning due to this. Tl;dr: -I was charged more than I feel I should have been for a misunderstanding that I don't believe was my fault. -Unlike other sitting services in the area the consultation and paperwork is not automatically no-strings attached and acts as an agreement to service. Be aware of this if, like me, you're skittish about strangers in your home and trying to feel people out. -Be sure to respond to EVERY ONE OF THEIR EMAILS, even the ones that say that service will not be continued if you don't respond. -It takes them a while to respond so be sure to reach out with plenty of spare time. read more

They have sat for my cat Davinci a couple times and he always seems just as happy if not happier once I come back from vacation. LA Pet Sitting provides a great service and they clearly know what there doing. It is a nice, and affordable way to have my cat taken care of when I'm going out of town for a short while or longer trip as opposed to stripping him from my home and leaving him at a facility of some kind. Also receiving a detailed list of activities and experiences the sitter had with my cat was very nice to get. He walked Prince endlessly without concern for his time spent, took him to the dog park to interact with other dogs, and even sanitized his paws before coming indoors. I felt such peace of mind having LA Pet Sitting care for my cat while I was away. The questionnaire that they have you fill out really accounts for everything like where the pet carrier is located, what vet to go to should an emergency occur while you're away and even if you want your mail brought in or plants watered! I love that they are also willing to do little home care things like that in addition to caring for your pet. Nikole was great with my cat. She always gave me a great detailed pet sitting summary including my cat's behavior, how she ate and a picture! That is so good to have when you are away from your pet. My cat seemed to love Nikole and I actually think she misses her! Nikole was also nice enough to bring the mail in once even though I didn't ask. While on our trip, my boyfriend lost his debit card and had to order a new one. Even though we didn't mark for the mail to be brought in, it was so easy to email Nikole and ask her to bring that one important piece of mail in. Additionally, between when I first set up the initial appointment and when the appointment would actually take place, I took my cat to the vet and got news that she would need to start taking medication and her diet would need to be adjusted.
