After an afternoon round of Disc Golf in Troutville, we arrived looking for some needed sustenance. These two sandwiches were awesome! There are many great burgers out there but this PLUS the truffle fries was wonderful. I'd never seen a tuna sandwich like this before. The wanton seemed a little odd but it's crunch plus the pickled ginger really made this sandwich delicious! We added a couple of glasses of wine from a nicely curated wine list. I'm a big fan of restaurants that can fit the bill for a casual meal or a night out for celebration.

I enjoy a rooftop experience just like the next person , but I live for the style of this restaurant, I appreciate the attention to detail and the GM even stopped by and spoke with us while we ate. We ended the night with their delectable beignets and I must say I was a happy lady by the end of this meal!

The food was absolutely great! Salad as always was great. Soup was OK. The lobster was heavenly! Especially dipped in the melted butter. My husband loved his steak. Only complaint is obviously it's all overpriced for what It is. But you're also paying for the experience on a rooftop. Definitely a special occasion place!!! Or date night spot.

Walked in Sunday evening with no reservations, I was just stopping for the night in Roanoke. Grace was my server and she was lovely. I ordered the whipped feta for an appetizer (delicious!!) and ribeye rigatoni (very filling and also delicious) I also did have a birthday recently and was given a nice birthday sundae at the end of my service. Overall had an amazing dinner with an amazing view and will be coming back when I'm visiting again!

Food, service and ambiance were all outstanding. Rain had started so unfortunately we couldn't dine outdoors. View was exceptional though when we stepped outside after dinner when the rain stop. Very nice to see skyline at sunset and at night. I am usual a harsh critic on steaks and rarely order- but their ribeye was simply phenomenal. Great flavor, great cooking and very good quality meat. My only complaint was the cleanliness of the lobby. Very small detail- but started the night off a little bad. The foyer coming into the restaurant was very sticky and made me question the restaurants cleanliness. Thankfully it was isolated to the foyer. Look forward to my next visit to Roanoke- will be sure to visit them again!

Such a beautiful spot in the city to enjoy cocktails and meals overlooking the city. The cocktails were delicious and we enjoyed the ambiance of the scenery.

Had a group dinner here recently while in town on business, what a location. This one is amazing, on top of the building with a panoramic view of the area thats unmatched. We had reservations and our table was waiting for us on our arrival. Service is professional and on point. Everyone in my party tried a lot of various items off the menu, I opted for the Seared Scallops and they were delicious. Prepared beautifully, seared to perfection. A Quad of succulent scallops over a medley of spiced rice and bacon, with micro mushrooms sprinkled over top. My server was kind and attentive, she even got me a Virgin Cranberry Mule, it was so good I had a pair of them. 4.5 Stars - One of the best meals in town, and a world class view. Rounded up for my great server. 01001

I ordered a grilled salmon dinner that included a small salad and a serving of garlic mashed potatoes. My wife ordered chicken strips and fries. The salmon was good. The salad was good. The potatoes not so good. The chicken strips were good. There are a few booths along a wall as well as the bar area to eat. Biggest gripe is the wait time on your order being cooked. It must be a one man show in the kitchen( at least the night we were there). Overall the food was ok/good. Service was friendly and fast but......there are better places around town to eat. If I could add a 2&1/2rating that's what it would be. My very good rating max is 4 stars so I couldn't put a 3 star rating here. Sorry guys. Never once have I had a single issue worthy enough to mention. Also for perspective it's 8pm, it's been a 14 hour day and I surly was in no mood to get into my car when it's less than 20 degrees outside and the wind howling, but I did. Sat at a table for over 15 minutes, bartender avoided me as she was in deep conversation with another patron I suppose. Moved to the bar. Got a TUDE from her with a "I would have came over, you didn't have to move". Then another guy just walks up, she gives him a menu and then his drink, I have neither. Finally she comes over my way, I asked if I could place a take out over. She grabs a menu, drops it in front of me and walks to the other end of the bar without asking or taking my drink order. She starts at the other end of the bar taking drink orders for all the other patrons who already have a drink in front of them. My daughter was a waitress while in college so I'm extremely empathetic toward wait staff, my lowest tip is 20%, good service 30% and excellent pays 40%. Tips are how they earn a living. Walked out.... also the menu is vastly different than what is offered on their website. Also I guess it may have been the chef- working extremely hard the entire time holding up a wall. What's sad in the end is I'll bet a 100 to 1 that not even a peep will come of this review from hotel or restaurant management.

Every time I dine at this restaurant I have a memorable dining experience. One of my favorite items…read moreon their summer menu is their R&R Hanger Steak. A Hanger steak is a long, flat, flavorful cut reminiscent of flank steak and skirt steak, only more tender. In the US, hanger steak is most commonly called "hanging tender" or "butcher's steak." It gets the latter nickname because it was historically a "secret" cut that butchers would keep for themselves rather than sell to the public. Other names you might see on menus for this cut are Hanging tenderloin and Bistro steak. All that I know is that it's the best piece of meat that I have ever eaten and it has been at this restaurant. So that was the main reason I came to dine here today and my expectations were completely fulfilled. When I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly, young lady with the warm welcoming of a regular guest. She happily took me to the table I had requested when I made my reservation online. It was a table facing the bar with their open kitchen on the right of me. I like to watch the bartenders and chefs in action as they create their amazing drinks and culinary masterpieces. Immediately after I was seated my server Tim came by with the usual familiar greeting, welcoming me once again for returning to dine there and thanking me for being such a loyal customer. I had the usual cold water and this time started off with one of their Butterfly Kisses Mocktails. It both looked and tasted amazing. For appetizer I had their VA Oyster Wraps, followed by their special salad of the day. And for the main entrée I had their R&R Hanger Steak. Everything was timed appropriately and was served at the right timing. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the high-quality of their food and drinks. For dessert I had my favorite, their Dark Chocolate Panna Cotta. What a way to end a spectacular dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant for an exceptional fine dining experience.

My friend and I walked in at 9 o'clock EXACTLY on a Thursday night to have a drink. The sign on the door said they were open until 10:00. There were 4 or 5 tables seated, enjoying dinner and cocktails. 5 or 6 people at the bar. There was no one to start with at the actual hostess stand and servers saw us standing at the door but did not approach us even though there was an hour left on their operating time. So we walked directly to the bar and sat down. We had just eaten at Fork in the Alley so all we wanted was one drink and we figured an hour was plenty of time to get that done. The first thing the bartender said to us was "The kitchen is closed." Not "hello" or "Hey what can I get you?" but the kitchen is closed. I said "oh I'm sorry I thought you closed at 10:00." He said "well, that's up for debate we were actually discussing that right now. We're basically closed but you can have a drink because it's not like the rest of these people are going anywhere." What do you mean that's up for discussion? Your hours say you're open till 10 o'clock, it's 9 o'clock I have an hour to eat and have drinks! The other bartender, or perhaps he was only a bar back, gave us a very disapproving look. I get it, I work in the food service industry. I'm a server at a 4 diamond restaurant, and I hate when people walk in minutes before we close and want to sit down. But if we post that we're open until 10 and you walk in at 9:45 I'm going to serve you and treat you like anyone else that walked in at 6:00 because it's your tips that pay my bills and put food on my table. It's definitely not the hourly wage I get from my employer! And as a server I never walk into a restaurant with less than 30 minutes to close. And it's more like an hour if I'm looking to eat a meal. I know you want to go home. When it's the end of the night and I'm at work, so do I! But there's an hour left and I wanted one drink. That's it! We continued to get disappointed looks from a few other employees even though we weren't the last people in the place. I told my friend (it's 9:45 at this point) that we obviously need to go since servers are standing around looking at us like we've got the plague. We paid our bill and promptly left. Two couples still at the bar. It's 9:59 right now as I'm writing this at home (you're still technically open btw) but I left feeling like I had stayed hours past your closing time. It's a real shame because we really enjoyed our drinks! They were super yummy! And I'm always getting asked by guests where's a good place for a late night cocktail and I used to recommend The River and Rail right along with Lucky's because we had a shuttle that would take guests out, but after tonight I won't be doing that anymore. Because there's nothing worse than feeling unwelcome at a restaurant that is still open.

I invite you to go back and read that significant review accompanied by some of my photographs of the restaurant and its food. It is extremely rare for one to have had the opportunity to follow a restaurant from such an early stage. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that it would be appropriate this year to go back to this restaurant and write a follow-up review, since my initial review was one of my reviews that contributed to me obtaining this highly esteemed Award. Argentinian people are known for their love of eating. Social gatherings are commonly centred on sharing a meal. Invitations to have dinner at home are generally viewed as a symbol of friendship, warmth, and togetherness. This in particular reflects the significance of this family-owned restaurant's name: Familia Argentina. This Argentinian family is opening its doors not only to share its food with their customers, which is one of the things they are most proud of from their culture, but also to share their friendship with all of us, since homemade food is seen as a way to show affection to their guests. When you think of Argentinian cuisine, the first thing you think of is steak. That is why I was happy to see that they have expanded their menu with different kinds of steaks, such as skirt steak. NY Strip, Ribeye, and Ribs. They also now have in their menu, their famous "Parrillada Argentina," which is a combination of Skirt Steak, Ribbs, and Chorizo, totaling over than 1lb of meat. Some of their other very popular menu items include their Beef Tenderloin Sandwiches and their Choripan with Chimichurri sauce. Their new menu also include a page of Lunch Special and a few delicious desserts. As a matter of fact the cover photograph of their Yelp page is one of my photographs of their Creamy Strawberry dessert. Today I arrived for an early dinner and received a warm welcome by the wife and co-owner of the restaurant. We talked for a while about the restaurant's progress and I complimented them on their new expanded menu. I had already visited the restaurant right after the new menu was brought out and had tried out their delicious "Parrillada Argentina" main course and their Creamy Strawberry dessert of which I was surprised by its creamy richness. After we stopped talking and catching up with things, I ordered two Ground beef and one Knief-Cut Meat empanadas as appetizer, and a Beef Milanesa a Caballo. I love this dish, because it reminded me so much of the "Bistec Empanisado" (Cuban Breaded Steak, a type of Country Fried Steak) my grandmother used to make me when I was growing up in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The "A Caballo" part meant it came with two fried eggs on top. It was served with fries, and was practically the size of the dish it was served in. To drink I ordered a Dr. Pepper. Good thing I had skipped lunch that day because I was able to eat the whole thing, and I enjoyed it all the way. With lemon juice on top, that steak tasted amazing. However, I was so full that I skipped dessert. While dining, I forgot to mention that the husband, chef, and co-owner of the restaurant also came out to say hello. I had also met him the first time I came by the restaurant and had given him some suggestions. Such as placing larger photographs of the main menu items on one of the front windows to familiarize the public with Argentinian cuisine. In conclusion, once again I had a wonderful dining experience at this relatively new restaurant. Loved those tasty Empanadas and the Breaded Steak with Fried Eggs on top. I highly encourage you all to go try this family-restaurant out and give them your full support. I can assure you that you'll be glad you did.

Until that one day that you decided to stop, and explore a whole new culinary world. After having been selected as number 4 of the Top 50 most prolific Elites of 2025, a year when I also was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Photographer of the Year Award at the Yelpies 2025 Award Ceremony, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, and where last year I was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Yelper of the Year Award, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Coach & Four Restaurant, in Roanoke Virginia is a perfect example. At first it was just a large colonial house turned restaurant on Williamson Road in Roanoke, Virginia. But once I decided to stop and explore it, it has become one of my favorite restaurants in Roanoke, Virginia. Its uniqueness lies not only in its colonial atmosphere and in its classic American cuisine, but primarily in its amazing staff that from the time you walk in begin to make your fine-dining experience one that you'll always remember and cherish dearly. Their refined behavior creates a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere that create unforgettable dining experiences. Today, after having gone through one of the worst snow and ice storms in years, I decided to not allow the icy roads to hold me back, and requested a Lyft to take me there for dinner. As soon as I arrived, the friendly host came out to greet me and take me to a table of my choice. My server from the first time I dined there, happened to recognize me and took me to the booth where I had dined the first time I ever dined there. We discussed a Mocktail for me to drink and she came back with an amazing drink, and a small meatball as an "amuse-bouche," designed to prepare ones palate for the meal. After studying the restaurant's extensive menu, I ordered their Bacon Wrapped Scallops as appetizer. For my main entrée I ordered the Prime Rib Combination that consisted of a generous portion of roasted prime rib served with a delicious lobster tail. For the two sides that came with my main entree, I had their famous tossed salad with their in-house made blue cheese dressing and a loaded baked potato. The scallops were not so big in size but big in flavor and texture. The salad was amazing, as always. The main entrée looked well at first, but when I cut into the prime rib it was too well done to be able to appreciate the flavor of the meat. But my server came by, as promised, to see if the prime rib was cooked to my satisfaction, and when I told her it was too well done for my original request of medium-rare, she gracefully apologized and took it back. Returning shortly with another piece of prime rib more to my liking. For dessert I had a slice of Pecan Pie a la mode, which by the way was amazingly delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for one of the best fine-dining experiences of your life. And am looking forward to returning and ordering ahead of time their Baked Alaska to have for dessert.

It was yummy But it was filled with tiny ice slithers that made it difficult to drink without choking on ice until the slithers melted. I always appreciate a good Luxor . The food was fine... I was just hoping to be awed. I had the grilled salmon was looking, for medium but it was definitely well done. It was will seasoned and I was hungry, so none went to waste, lol. I was just hoping for something special. The veggie side was small and basic but well seasoned and the potatoes were also well seasoned but missing the Chicago butter sauce advertised. Instead it had a tiny smear of what I'm assuming was cocktail sauce. I tried the cheesecake bread pudding which was their bread pudding of the day. Overall it was good. I wouldn't have minded more cream cheese and was kind of disappointed the strawberries came out with the leaves still attached. At this price point, I don't want to have to remove things on my own. My server was great, she was training someone new but still managed to be perfectly attentive without being over bearing. With Sidecar and Stock so close by, it takes a peak performance to get me to repeat a restaurant stop when I'm in town for work. This was a solid 4 today but there are 5 star worthy places that have my attention.

People ask me all the time: "What is your favorite restaurant in Roanoke, Virginia?" And my reply,…read moreafter considering all of the wonderful restaurants in this Star City is ... "Billy's", in the heart of Downtown Roanoke. After having been selected as number 4 of Yelp's Top 50 most prolific Elites of 2025, a year when I also was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Photographer of the Year Award at their Yelpies 2025 Award Ceremony, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, and where last year I was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Yelper of the Year Award, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and businesses, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Billy's in Downtown Roanoke, Virginia, is a perfect example. From the very first time I visited and dined at Billy's, I fell in love with it. I don't know if it was its history. Its historic building was constructed in 1912 and originally housed the Ritz Hotel. Then in 1979 John and Betsy Williams opened "Billy Ritz," named in homage to the building's history and a former local saloon. For 29 years (1979 - 2007) the Williamses operated the restaurant, making it a popular downtown fixture. In 2007 the restaurant closed and in 2008 the building was purchased by new owners: Neel and Neal Keesee. Following extensive renovations that preserved its historic character, the restaurant reopened in May 2012 as "Billy's". And since then Billy's operates as a popular downtown dining spot with a focus on fine dining, and is celebrated for maintaining a piece of old downtown Roanoke history while providing modern, upscale dining. Or maybe it is, its refined American cuisine with a focus on steaks and fresh seafood, such as scallops, shrimps, lobsters, mahi-mahi, southern salmon, or catch of the day. Or its drinks, a well-curated bourbon bar with an extensive wine list and signature cocktails. It might also be its elegant and historic atmosphere, with a clasic dining room, a trendy outdoor patio, and private dining rooms to host private events and celebrations. Or even its corner location in one of the most valuable and desired areas in the heart of Downtown Roanoke. But even if all of the above are an important factor in my selection, I would say that last but most important of all is its staff; from its managers, its cooks, its bartenders, and its servers. They are not only knowledgeable, professional, and hospitable, but together form a team with the goal of making you feel at home there and having an extraordinary dining experience. That's why I say: "Any day can be made special by dining at Billy's." This Saturday, I went to dine there after making my reservation in the Open Table app. Even though they could not honor my initial table request for a window view table in the main dining room, the manager was kind enough to accommodate me at a window view table of another very quaint dining room facing the outdoor patio. I believe it was table 54, served by the very friendly, kind, and efficient server, Savannah. She first brought me an amazing drink prepared by my favorite bartender. Then she gracefully took my order. I had Four Bacon Wrapped Scallops as appetizer. An 8oz Filet cooked medium-rare with a Lobster Tail enhancement, Cheddar Smashed Potatoes, and Grilled Asparagus, as my main entrée. And for dessert, my favorite, their famous Crème Brûlée. She did an excellent job in making sure I was well taken care of by coming by at the appropriate times and even when she was serving a large table in the main dining room, she made sure to send the principal host to see if I needed anything. As I was dining, the restaurant's manager came by my table to say hello, and that is something I truly appreciate from any quality restaurant I dine at. What an outstanding dining experience. And even if I was only one customer dining there that busy evening, the following day I received a text message from one of my fellow Yelpers who was in town for a week of conferences and was looking for a place for a "friends' get-together. And without any hesitation I recommended Billy's. If a picture is worth a thousand words, a good word is worth many customers. And thus, I give this restaurant a 5 Star and now you know why.

She was very cheerful and friendly.I liked how there is actually space between the tables . The restaurant is spacious and nicely decorated. Our waitress Melissa was excellent. She had some great suggestions on what to try as we were first time guests. The calamari was fresh and crunchy. The glazed bacon was delicious. The lamb chop lollipops were ok, too raw. Caesar salad was tasty and one order is enough for 4 people. My NY strip steak was tender and cooked to perfection. I tried a side of risotto and was definitely not disappointed. I find they have a good selection of wines as well. Billy's is definitely a great choice for a nice dinner!
