Unprofessional, expensive and mediocre work! I got a tattoo done here last year. The guy at the front desk was alright until he started hitting on my friends. They obviously not interested, but he was relentless making for an extremely uncomfortable situation. The artist was ok at first, but wasn't understanding of the fact that it was my first time and I was getting it in a painful area. Maybe if I was a guy, I would have been taken seriously from the beginning, and not treated so horribly. read more

Went because a friend recommended, and I was disappointed. I went in for a consultation. I wanted two simple tattoos of my cats. I walked in and a guy greeted me. I showed him what I wanted and he said he might have time that night to do them since they were simple. He walked away, I figured he went to check his schedule and waited for 15 minutes. Guy#2 walks up and asks me if I've been helped and I said that they guy walked away. He goes back to check on guy#1 and come back to tell me he's doing a back piece. I said "well he said he may have time tonight but didn't take my number or give me a time to be back and check." I agreed to give the guy my number because he said he'd call me in an hour or two to give me more details. I said I'd be happy to make an appointment, again he said he'd call me. I've been waiting for a month for that phone call. I get it, they didn't want to do my SIMPLE tattoos because it's not their style. But why couldn't they just tell me NO THANKS instead of making me wait and giving me hope?? I ended up at another tattoo shop and was in and out in 2 hours and tipped the guy very well. Once upon a time I got a tattoo. A bad (as in good) tattoo. When I get nervous I do this swallowing thing, I can't help it, and I just swallow a lot. Then it starts to make this weird almost clicking noise, I don't know if anyone else but me can hear it, I sure hope not. So on the drive out to Upland from the 'dena...about a 35 minute drive, I uncontrolably swallowed all the way there. It was one of the most nerve wracking drives of my life. I got there, Daniel, the guy who did my tattoo, showed me what he'd drawn up according to our consultation a few weeks prior. It looked great, better than I had envisioned even, except a little on the big size. He downsized it and we got ready to roll. Still swallowing uncontrollably I sitauted myself on the chair and got ready to be sitting for the next 2 to 3 hours. I gotta say that Daniel was super nice and really encouraging. I was truly afraid that I was going to make a pussy of myself and start crying and not be able to handle the pain. It hurt like a motherf@*cker, but Daniel was good with taking breaks and was really nice about the whole thing. The shop itself is tucked away in a pretty nondescript part of Upland, just off Euclid. It's clean, sanitary, nice. There's the obligatory snake in an aquarium and flash art on the walls. One of the more approachable places I've been to. I would very much recommend Daniel and Six Feet Under...I've got no regrets. In fact, I'm due for a return visit for my next piece of work. read more

I love this shop, today was my second time there and its still amazing. About 4 years ago I got tattooed by Daniel and today I got my knuckles done by Brian. Great ambiance, vibes, all the tattoo artist are awesome and welcoming which is hard to find at a lot of shops. Made arrangements in March for a cover up, a Phoenix, my company logo. Sent an email with photos of current tatoo, artwork of my logo, and asked for a more stylized, artistic version of it. I had a planned trip to LA. in June and thought that was more than enough time to secure a date. I offered four different days, any time of day. I get a fairly prompt (3 days) reply that says call a month before. I do, they have no idea what I'm talking about. Please resend everything and call in a couple days. I do. They say, yeah ya know you can look up the artists Phoenix on line we can do a whole arm piece for $1200-$1500, cash. I don't want an arm piece, maybe in the 6-8 inch range. Do you have a link to artwork? No, just Google it they say. Call us back in a couple of days. After multiple emails and calls, I have to do all the searching for artwork, I never get offered to see something they draw up from my art, and I still don't have an appointment! So I'm getting pushed into a tatoo I don't want in a size I don't want. Money wasn't the issue, I would have paid $1200 for Corey to do my work. I don't want the same Phoenix everyone else has. Jayson, who I believe is the shop manager, was super friendly; he even hooked it up with some free chocolate bars to munch on while I waited! Okay, I need to write somewhat of a retraction. Jason, the customer service guy called me personally to explain the situation. Apparently they (6 Feet Under) are not governed or operated or dictated to by the network. I am a wee bit confused as I was asked to write a disclaimer saying "I was okay with being filmed". Not quite sure what that's about, but anyway ... it seems there was a mass miscommunication between them and me. Apparently they were trying to fit me in, due to my approaching birthday and did not give me a hard date or a hard "no" as they were waiting for cancellations. I appreciate the phone call clearing up the matter and the decent discussion Jason and I had. It takes balls and gusto to calmly, quietly and sanely explain the situation. And perhaps in my eagerness and excitement, I may have jumped the gun a bit. I can not say from personal experience if they do great tattoos, if their shop is clean, or their green tea is the best in town. But I do know they pay attention to their clientele and take complaints seriously. After all they are a tattoo shop, and could have easily given me the middle finger. However their reactions were professional and courteous and I appreciate the heads up. It's comforting to know good customer service is not a totally dead art form and some vendors actually do care. Wow, seems a lot of people don't like it there! I grew up in Upland, always heard good reviews about it. I got my second tattoo here. Not a bad experience at all. First off, I called last minute to see if I could come in hopefully in an hour or so...(I'm a little impulsive) thankfully, there had been a cancellation. Second, the guy with the sunglasses everyone is so mean about...is super nice, not a douche. Then again, I am a nice person, so people are generally nice back. This place is amazing!! Jason was a great help since I walked in on day 1 a couple of months ago. Told me what to do and what to expect if I wanted to get a piece done by Corey Miller. So I did what he suggested kept in touch worked with there schedule and patiently waited for my day to come.. And it was well worth the wait.. Corey was running a little late but heck that is fine by me I was just happy to be getting inked and lucky enough to be getting it done by him. I sat down in that chair that many have sat in before me and at the end i had an amazing work of art that will be with me until my end. Corey is a great person, his stories make you feel like an old friend and some are funny. Jason, was great as well, kept asking me if I needed anything, water etc. Thank you, Corey for your time and the masterpiece. Jason for your help getting me the time on that chair. My husband always does my tattoos but with this new style I decided to get it done here! My artist did a great job and I'm very happy with the turn out! This is my rainbow bridge dog paw for the rainbow bridge poem for dogs when they pass over. We lost our fur baby boy Johnny over a year ago and this is for him! Later I will come back to get a portrait of him and the script of the rainbow bridge poem done! He was only 6 years old with back problems and we couldn't do anything. I've been wanting to get a cover up done on a tattoo I got one drunken night in the military for years but I never got around to finding someone to do it. My girlfriend wanted to get a tattoo so we went to Six Feet Under. I was looking through the portfolios and Neil Wilson's work really caught my eye. I made an appointment and sent him some designs. It's a pretty complicated piece that takes up my entire upper arm. The day of my appointment Neil greeted me right on time and he got to work. This guy is a perfectionist. He put on the stencil a few times until he got it just right and went to work for about four hours to do the line work. I couldn't have been happier with the results. The best part, I couldn't believe when he told me how much it cost. I was expecting to pay double what he charged me. I just finished my second sitting with him to start the shading and damn does it look amazing. One thing about Neil is he likes to work straight through. He broke when I needed it but that's it. And I wasn't just sitting there bored out of my mind as he was working. He's a cool guy and we had some great conversation. I'm looking forward to my next sitting and seeing how amazing this tattoo is going to look when he's finished. read more

The woman who did my last tattoo was out of town so I asked my friends on Facebook to whom I should go to. A few people suggested Six Feet Under, so I called and made an appointment. This was somewhat last minute, and it was less then a week away. I wanted to get a tattoo of my Dad's handwriting because it was the 6 year anniversary of his death. They told my that the day was booked up, but he told me he would try to move some things around and call me back. He called me back a few hours later, which I was surprised about. The day of, they called a few hours before my tattoo and made it an hour later, which I was fine with because I was busy that day and made it easier for me. When I went in they were all really nice to me and my two friends who went with me, and I really enjoyed my experience. The atmosphere was enjoyable, the best shop I've been in. This was by third tattoo, my first was at Empire tattoo in Fontana, the 2nd was at Zombie tattoo by Helen in Norco, and both did a good job. Neil did this tattoo, and he did a great job. I really liked him. I'm happy to say I've never had a poor experience with a tattoo artist yet. If I get a larger tattoo, I will probably go back for him. The only down side is that their bottom price is $100, and my tattoo's are somewhat small. But if you want good quality, and you have a detailed tattoo, this would be a great place. I did read the reviews before I went and it did make me a little nervous, but my experience was great. read more

Got my first tattoo here for my birthday in March, it was amazing, I immediately scheduled the next 3 appointments as soon as possible. I went in there first because it was the closest place to my house, they said I had to make an appointment, the soonest one was in nearly a week and a half. So as impatient as I am. I checked at every other tattoo parlor within driving distance. Every where was crap. Rude, I had to get their attention, unprofessional, and their work was amateur. So I made the appointment, the guy at the front desk was more then helpful and pretty chill, so was everyone else, all the artists, so it really had that "just some friends hanging out, tattooing each other" vibe, which was really relaxing. I liked Niel's work the most so I picked him. He did not disappoint. Got two more by him. Just as amazing. Getting the fourth tat in a few weeks. As for the price. I'm not exactly making bank. But I know the price is completely reasonable for the quality. I'm not gonna go around looking for a better deal to 'hope' the tat comes out good. Went into Six feet under for my first tattoo and as a first time customer there. After reading these other negative reviews i'm a bit confused because my experience there was perfect. Walked in, was greeted, asked what i wanted to get done, even got the artist to come out and talk to me about ideas, when i wanted to get it done and price. Set my appointment up 2 days later with the same great customer service at the front desk( dude's are really cool) all with ease. Went in for my appointment with Tu went over some final preparations and about 30 min later after getting the sketch done i got started! Tu is AMAZING, A lot of people on here say that its expensive but you pay for what you get. If i could upload a pic on here of what i got done i would to show the detail that was put into it. I think for the amount of detail and work put into the ink here its a reasonable price. That being said i could only speak for Tu because iv'e only been worked on by her. Iv'e had such a great experience here that iv'e even brought a friend of mine here which was very very very happy with his 3/4 sleeve and still going to continue to refer other people here. I can't wait to go back on the 9th and get my sleeve done as well. Good staff management, awesome quality work and customer service Correy, keep up the great work, seen a lot of happy people come out of this shop. This place is a clean and professional shop! The prices are a little high but tattoo's are like cars! You pay for what you get. If you want to pay $75 for a shitty garage tattoo then do it. Got my first tattoo here at age 52. I had wanted one since I was a kid and after seeing the amazing work Larry Garcia has done for my son, I decided to get one. Jason was very nice and polite, asked me if I would like some water and explained to me how to take care of my tatto during the healing process. Larry was very nice and made sure I was okay the entire time. He had my drawing and had added his own touches to it. It was beautiful and it was like he read my mind on the coloring. I went to Six Feet Under for my first tattoo yesterday. At 47 years old this was a HUGE decision and it took 2 years for me to decide on a design & placement. Simply put the reason I chose Six Feet Under was my belief that a professional who puts his reputation on the line isn't going to employ mediocre artists. I called to set up an appointment & found out that Obed had an opening 2 hours later. Being a nervous wreck (thanks to my son who told me the pain would be horrific) I was happy that the shop manager (Jason?) was so cool and made me feel comfortable. My son & his girlfriend and then my daughter & her friend showed up to check out my progress and they were also treated very well by Jason, he was AWESOME the whole time we were in the shop. BTW-he mentioned something about an eye problem so whoever thought it was cool to bash him about the sunglasses is a jerk! On to the tattoo... I choose a very detailed fleur dis lis between my shoulder blades. Obed listened to what I wanted, drew it up and was very open to any changes but what he came up with was perfect. The pain wasn't that bad and about 90 minutes later I had a black & gray piece that was better than I imagined. Also, as I was having my tattoo done we found out Obed had time to tattoo my daughter and she also got a black & gray fleur dis lis with a different style on her side. Both of our tattoos came out amazing, I would highly recommend Obed! The icing on the cake.... got a chance to talk to Corey Miller and watch him start a portrait on some guy's arm :) Since this was my first tattoo I can't comment on price, other than I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for and I wasn't bargain shopping for something this important. read more

I've been getting tattooed for over 20 years now, and the worst experience I've ever had was at 6 feet under. OK I understand it's cool the guy at the front counter is a fucking asshole, he's not the one tattooing me so what. I don't mind leaving a deposit, or getting my apt changed three times! Shit happens. I was tattooed by Neal, and wow what a shit show that was, his line work was shaky at best hell some of the shading he did was with the liner. He over drilled the fuck out me and the kicker than he tried to change the price from 300 dollars to 450 for an hour long tattoo.... After I was all healed up and more line work and shading fell out. This was the biggest piece of shit tattoo I have on my body... But hey maybe the guy had a off day, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and called to get some touch up work done. 3 months later when I go in to get the work done, I waited 2 fucking hours for him to finish another tattoo than the prick at the front counter came back out and told me he had gone to lunch, but no worries because he had another tattoo to do on some Else when he got back.... You could have not told this 2 fucking hours ago!!! Now I never saw Cory in the shop, But this shit is so sad to me. I cam remember when Cory miller worked at Optic Overdrive tattoo, I talked with him a few times he even tattooed my brother super cool cat. It seems to be the man has worked real hard to get where he is at. I'm not a tattoo artist but I dam well know good ink from bad, I'm not here to bash any other tattoo artist, and maybe these guys were just fucking off because Cory was not there. The tattoo world is nothing like it use to be, I will never go back there again.... I have to say this, Yes these people are artist and to me its the most beautiful art in the world. But it's also a service, we are coming to the artist and trusting them to put a piece of work on our bodies that will last for ever... To miss treat people, to try and rip them off, to show arrogances and a lack of respect is not right and its not OK, artist or not. We can go anywhere to get tattooed, yet we chose to come to you, respect that and if you can't the stop tattooing and find something else to do. To be a tattoo artist is a dream some of us have had for years, but have no talent for it. So all we can do is enjoy is the art and being tattooed, be thank full for what you have.... I've lowered my rating after recieving another such tattoo. The experienced I had elsewhere was incomparable. I was also extremely ripped off and never realized it. I paid 900$ for an average sized rib piece!!! My new one was more detailed and only cost me $400. Not only was the artist not even creative in customizing something for me, he basically traced what I gave him, which I didn't want. The guy who worked the counter was a jag-off, I waited 10 minutes for someone to even realize we were at the front. Lilacs are tiny and in bunches, not large flowers. Even when I brought an image he still managed to get it wrong. Too bad I didn't realize it since I was too excited. He was so rude and emotionless, didn't say anything and ignored me half the time. He kept pushing me on the table saying he couldn't finish it because I was laying a certain way. Obviously a body can only stretch just so many ways. I still have a nice chunk remaining to finish and I don't even think I'm going to go back ever to finish it. Whoopdy doo so Corey Miller works there, he's probably the only one who can customize something. Nice guy, but that all. They usually require a $100 deposit, which i still haven't gotten back or got used towards my tattoo! My husband and I wanted to get matching ring tattoos for our anniversary and set an appointment for 6pm Jason at the front desk was very friendly. He switched us from Kevin to Oded because Kevin wasn't available. Obed did not want to do our tattoos! Apparently some tattoo artist aren't interested in doing ring tattoos. We didn't get a sketch from Obed until 8:15. Then when we asked him if he was bothered by doing our tattoo he said" I am not the one being indecisive". These are tattoos that we will have forever and he is the tattoo artist that is supposed to help us figure it out. I went here my fourth tattoo and was VERY excited about it. The guy at the front was very nice and accommodating. I was a walk-in and they were able to take me after an hour which I thought was great. The artist was very nice too (I think his name was Mojo) but the actual tattoo... not so much. It is the most expensive tattoo I have ever paid for, which I was fine with considering the owner of the shop, but during the healing process a lot of color fell out and while the tattoo is my newest one at only 2 years old, it looks like the oldest :/ I got my first tattoo done over 4 years ago.
