Hands down the best Potato Salad EVER!!
Marc D.

We found this place while traveling and a search from Yelp led us here. Omg was that a success! Best Potato Salad in this world. Make a trip and visit this Cafe. Seriously look at your calendar now and set the date. Invite some friends and plan for some good home made country cooking! The best Onion rings you can find anywhere. Everything was fresh with a wonderful small town Diner spread.

Great burger!

You'd expect a place like this to have hearty, 'down home' food. And they do. But, it's done exceptionally well! The cafe is in what looks like an old house, right off of Highway 75. There's even a little bar area with all the flavors of Malibu rum. I had a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie (one of like 15 pie options). And I had an amazing hamburger. 1/3 lb. patty. Slightly pink (the right way to do it, imo) and very juicy. Add in a side of their excellent potato salad, and I had a memorable meal. I know the flooding has been very bad in 2019, but without the reroute from KC to Omaha, I never would've checked out Six Mile Cafe. If you find yourself near, definitely check it out for a great meal.

Headed to Sioux Falls and I29 closed. We are taking a detour lol! Another driver following. I ordered a Reuben ( hope with 1000!). I also heard self breaded onion rings are wonderful. I got a small. Bf had chef salad plus burger patty. Friend ordered bacon cheeseburger plain. He always has bacon on the side. He gives it to his dog... ( so bad). Not my dog. Wow we got our food really quick for being sooo busy. EVERYone stopped here! Haha. My Reuben was fabulous and the Sammy has redeemed my faith in the Sammy. Onion rings we to be small but they looked like a large. They were realllly good too! Bf side burger steak and wow it was huge. And I snuck a bite... so juicy too! Salads were also plentiful and delish. Our friend ate his burger and we munched on some of his fries which looked like home cut. As we left we peeked our heads into the kitchen and complimented the Wizards!!! They were happy to hear!

a basket of onion rings

The best onion rings hands down! Light, crispy and the flavor was delicious! The pork tenderloin sandwich was the best I ever had. Perfectly thin, breading just right, lettuce, tomato and onions were perfect and the tenderloin was twice the size of the bun. The fried pickles were over the top delicious! They were perfect on their own and didn't even need ranch to dip them in. The service here is great, the food came out fast. I visited here while in vacation from Las Vegas and will definitely come here again before I leave town.

Tenderloin sandwich. Recommended ! The onion rings were excellent. Don't drive by without stopping.

Chicken fried steak already half eaten

Went camping at Indian Cave State park. Drove over to this restaurant. It was so good. My husband says it's the best chicken fried steak he's had in years! I had the BLT. It had real bacon and a Lot of it. (Real bacon verses that microwave packaged kind). Would definitely come back again (and I had pie) crust was perfect

We stopped at Six Mile on a trip through this area mostly because it was the only place around for miles that seemed worth visiting. Boy am I glad we did. This is home-style cooking at its best. Something akin to what your grandma probably cooked. Don't expect too much when it comes to decor or fancy things. Just some TVs mounted on the walls and lots of locals chowing down on chicken fried steak, burgers, and homemade pie. Being tourists, we attracted many a look from the folks in the restaurant, but the server kept the smiles and food coming. We filled up quickly on delicious fried treats and so didn't have room left over for pie. Unfortunately, our late lunch meant many of the pies were sold out when we were there. Too bad because they seem to be a popular dish here.
