Therefore we would be in danger of fines and the only other car he had was a larger car - the biggest - as everything else was taken. He continued to add fee upon fee - he was relentless - we were 2 women - and after a while just gave up to shut him up. The company should also be made aware that he kept repeating that with the insurance we could crash the car and we should never worry - scratch it, crash it - whatever we liked. Neither of us will ever use this company again and not sure if we'll ever use Expedia again as they were not helpful at all. The surly van driver who picked us up from the airport did not greet us or say one word. At the rental office the wait was 20 minutes, but there were only 2 customers and 3 clerks. When it was our turn the sales pitches and pressure began. We had bought extra damage insurance from TAP for roughly $160. The sales girl said it was useless and we're should call and cancel and instead buy the SIXT policy for $370 because it was better. Then came the pitch for returning the car with an empty tank, car upgrade, etc, etc. We turned all this down and she became much less friendly. The car had some minor damage and we called over the checkout guy who was rude and dismissive. Next time we'll find a higher rated company. We've liked Enterprise a lot in the US but don't know if they will be the same in Portugal.

First time using Sixt, and it won't be the last…read more After a less-than-ideal experience with another provider (cough cough, Europcar), we canceled our reservation and quickly booked with Sixt instead. It was impressive. Within minutes, they had our car ready, gave us an upgrade, and were incredibly kind the entire time. No pressure to buy their insurance or add-ons, no scare tactics about not driving on the highway with a small car (unlike Europcar, which kept trying to upsell us). The whole process was a breeze, including the drop-off. The car was in impeccable condition. They have definitely earned a new customer!

They then invoice at the end 120 euros for fees and having an extra driver , which was fine . They then take 210 from card without agreement and gave me some rubbish invoice adding all sorts on . I complained and got no response, then today I get an email saying they are charging another 10 euro for recharge of vehicle, they already charged 45 for this when they took the 210 .......
