I had been a customer of Sizemore Ins for over 20 years. After finding out the premiums we were paying were outrageous we switched to another company. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were very rude when I notified the office.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We always had premium paid automatically through checking account so never had any late payment. Apparently when we cancelled there was an amount still due from part of the month. At no time did we EVER receive a bill or any notification to pay as we would have. This morning I find out that an amt of 248.00 was sent to collections and had ruined my perfect credit score! No bill ever sent from Nationwide or collection. What a rotten and unfair thing to do. I always pay all my bills on time. They are terrible to take advantage of senior citizens. Should not be allowed to get away with this. Beware! Especially if you're a senio! Get your insurance from an ethical ( and much Cheaper compan). read more

Shop elsewhere they have lost the small town company he once started. I grew up in Wilmington and our family's have known each other for years. I've never shopped rates due to the relationship I thought we had. Boy was I wrong for once I needed to file a claim and crickets on his end when I reached out. They are a broker and offer no in house insurance. It was clear after all these years I was just a number not a client. I saved 3,400 Dollars by switching to Farm Bureau on all of our insurance. 4 years in a row of not sending renewals to my mortgage company. car insurance quote was for less coverage than needed.

On June 26, 2016 I received a plea via email to post a review on YELP if we're happy with our experience. I did nothing because I don't think it's right for companies to solicit positive reviews. On December 26, 2016 as we were preparing to drop this insurance I once again received a plea for a positive review on GOOGLE. Again I ignored the plea. You guessed it on Feb 24, 2017 and March 26, 2017 I received the same pleas for positive reviews. Now that we have dropped this insurance and established our Home Owners Insurance with a major company I would be happy to tell you what I think. The only contact that we have had on a regular basis is pleas for reviews. This company somehow got into the mix of companies that we dealt with when we first purchased our home in NC. Fortunately we didn't need to make any claims during the year that we carried this insurance. I think it may have been a confusing process as this company appears to be the carrier of insurance through other companies. The one thing I can say for sure is the pricing was confusing. On 12/31/15 we received a price quote of $673. On 1/25/16 when we closed on the house the price had jumped for no reason and less than a months time to $729. If we had kept this insurance the cost would have gone up to $924. on 1/25/17 for the exact same coverage. Thanks but NO THANKS we arranged for better coverage with State Farm starting in 2017. Now the lady they have answering the phone tries to make you feel stupid and is not helpful at all! So I am being nice by giving 3 stars. Requested updated auto quote twice in the wake of increases and no reply's. Very disappointed as a long time N wide client.

I was a loyal customer of this agency for more than 10 years but after a recent auto renewal experience decided it was time for a change. The reason for the change was due to the lack of communication and the inability of my agent to answer questions in a timely manner. After waiting 2-3 days for an answer about why my premium had increased, I decided to call the insurer directly and was able to obtain an answer in less than 5 minutes. The final straw was when I asked my agent to have Mr. Sizemore contact me and he never reached out. A lot has changed within this agency over the last 10 years, I used to feel like a valued customer and my agent used to be extremely prompt and knowledgeable but as mentioned a lot has changed. If you want to feel like the low man on the totem pole, even after 10 years of loyalty, this is the place for you. It is no longer the place for me. read more
