Entrance to SJ Brewing Company, Yulee

After driving halfway home, it was time for a rest and a wind down before finding somewhere to park for the night. I stopped in here for a beer and then another beer while I pounded away on the laptop. These Yelp reviews don't write themselves, you know! For a Wednesday night, it was pretty quiet with a table of four people playing some dice game and five or so regulars at the bar. Sitting at a table, I was comfortable and enjoyed the beers. They don't have a food menu but you're welcome to bring or have delivered. [Review 18962 overall - 1578 in Florida - 2486 of 2022.]

Great selection not only of drinks but swag too. The bartender was great and informative on places for us to visit as we are still new to the area. They have the cutest little 1/2 size growler and of course now I do too. If you are in the area stop in and check this place out.

Great taproom, great service, great logo and damn good beer. My taste went more to the lighter beers here. The IPA was the best. It was a lightly hopped IPA, full of flavor. The darks (brown ale and porter) were a little thin for me. Need a little more malt. There's a nice little outdoor seating area in the front. Also, they is a $4 discount on large pizzas from the Italian place right next door if you mention SJ Brewing. Brilliant for both businesses. I'll be back...it's just too far away to become a regular.

I don't typically try it drink sours and these are absolutely very good. The decor is fun and clean. Staff all wearing masks and cleaning constantly for covid safety.

Clean, inviting space to enjoy beers. They just opened! Currently they only offer other beers (local Florida crafts) but they should have their beers available come Labor Day weekend. The owners are very nice. It's clear they've put a lot of soul into this brewery. There is plenty of seating without it feeling too cramped. As for entertainment, there's a flat screen showing sports, a foosball table, and a multitude of board games. They are dog friendly!! Dogs are welcome indoors, they also have an outdoor patio area. Comfortable seating, there's a mix of high bar stools with and without backs as well as regular lower tables and chairs. The wifi works great. They offer Happy Hour deals!

I love it here! They have a ton of awesome events that they do each week such as, brews and boards, Pictionary and Trivia, just to make a few. At first, I was kind of put off that there was no food, but you can bring food with you from anywhere and it doesn't hurt that there's a restaurant next door that you can order food from and go grab it when it's ready. My favorite beer that they have right now is the catherina zeta jones... what a fun name! I wish I would have planned better so I could participated in Pictionary because it looked like so much fun and you win a free beer if you win. All the staff there are super friendly and helpful, making it an even more awesome destination.

We didn't know how it worked, but you get menus and order from the bar. Someone brings your food only; if you need fork, knife , napkins, condiments, etc, you go get it. Let me say, I'm not a burger person, but the Mocama burger was fantastic. The burger itself may have been a frozen burger and a little overcooked (even for me who doesn't like anything done less than medium). The cheese, bacon, and caramelized onions were perfect, but that pretzel bun....hands down best I've ever had! They MUST make these in house! The fries were thinner than I expected, but the seasoning and doneness were wonderful. We enjoyed every single bite and will absolutely be back!

Wouldn't say that it necessarily caters to sports - at least half of the TVs (I think there were 4) were temporary. Beer was solid - but not a huge selection - maybe 6 or so. Had several Cosmic IPA which was good, not great. For food, shared some nachos with added smoked pork which hit the spot. Group ordered a chicken pesto sandwich, a burger or two and chicken gyro. Honestly the food was more "gourmet" than typical pizza and burgers that you get at a lot of breweries. May have given 4.5 stars but it was impossible to contact them directly. No phone number on website and even when I located one, went straight to voice mai. The FAQs on website couldn't answer my question if they would be able to accommodate a large party with a table and advise on TV situation / audio (which was too low for a game that everyone was dialed into). As other have pointed out, it is counter service only which is then run out to your table.

The seasoning on the fries was perfection. Unfortunately, no pics of the food. The beers were delish! Had several options on tap and decided on a flight of Gose. Belgian Tripel, Belgian Blonde w raspberry, and the Swarzbier -- visually, absolutely gorgeous...and they tasted exceptional as well. That swarzbier was full of body and flavor with a hint of sweetness. If you like stouts or Dunkels, give this a try. Such a great recommendation from the bartender. Tip: you order from the bar and find a table. There's not a host to seat you. There's also a keg of water for self serve agua. The only downside--super loud inside. It was fine for us. The hostess and server were pleasant. We ordered the shrimps, grits and tails and a oyster po-boy. I STRONGLY recommend that you experience this restaurant. You will NOT be disappointed. The shrimp, grits and tails was one of the best dishes I've had in a very long time. Also the oyster po-boy was fresh with a ample quantity of oysters on the sandwich. Unfortunately, I'm not in the area that much, and only once did I make the journey just to come here. What is the draw, you may ask? Great beer, great food, great atmosphere, great vibes! , That said, every meal I have had here has been delicious. The beer is pretty darn good & cold too! Of course, with the long drive...ya gotta limit it. But it's worth it for anything on the menu. I don't know where to start food-wise, I am trying to eat my way around the menu. The gator tail and fish dip are two of my favorites for small bites/appetizers. The Elk burger, the Taphouse burger, and the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich are always amazing....and then there's the cole slaw...yummy! Delicious food, and they have more than just sandwiches. The menu offers a little something different. The atmosphere and vibe are always inviting, and the staff is super friendly. The prices are fair, portions are ample, and there is plenty of parking. The decor is fun too! Not to mention, they give a veteran discount with proof of ID. What more can you ask for? Well, I know what I can ask for! To the owners: pretty please, with sugar on top, consider opening a location in St. Augustine. Not in the downtown area, but the folks north of town need something; they need you! Around the Palencia & Kensington area, off US 1 to be exact...or anywhere nearby in that area. The folks there would love something they can walk to, ride bikes to, maybe even use a golf cart to get to...and yes, a short drive is good too. Jus' sayin'! Please just check it out...I said pretty please!
