Love coming to this place for great food, drinks and ambiance for lunch or dinner. Many times I have gone and have loved everything specifically the street tacos and queso fundido dip. My favorite tacos are the buzz, light my fire and Churchill, but I've tried many and like them all just deciding what meat and a crispy taco or soft drives the selection...I also love most of their specialty drinks whether I'm in the mood for their tweaks of margaritas, sangrias, pisco sour, spritz, etc. or as my husbands standard - beer. Seating depends on weather and time - We like to sit at the bar but have sat at a table in the covered patio as well as the "courtyard". Love when they have live music too. I had the Cali-Tito burrito. It's a $20 burrito that is supposed to have steak in it. It honestly tasted good but it was just filling. There may have been 2oz of beef in it but I doubt it. My wife had a bowl she said it was good but once again no protein. My son had some kind of quesadilla he didn't like it but I tasted it and it was ok. Service was not great. There were plenty of servers they just were not helping each other out. The ambiance was nice as well. What I am really not impressed with is the value. $75+$15 dollar tip for mediocre service to eat rice with all the fixings is annoying. read more

3rd visit within 6 months and the 2 prior visits was ok. This time the service was not good at all. Our order was taken by our server and a runner brought our appetizers and our main course. Our server tended bar and never came back for refills (order was spicy, no complaint there) but I really needed water! Additionally we had to wait way too long for our check. Would not have been as bothered except all other tables around us had great service... just not us. Flies buzzed us the whole meal and other tables were brought fans. Not us... Ignored. Yes, I still left 20% tip and did not want to be a jerk, it was just unfortunate and left wishing I had gone elsewhere. Moving forward that is exactly what I'll do. read more

Cute ambiance. They had live music on a Thursday night and it wasn't terribly loud. Flies were EVERYWHERE. It was annoying and became kinda gross at a point. We were offered a candle at the end of our meal, which helped a little. Drinks were great! Nothing was pre made and I enjoyed the variety of liquor. Tacos were great! Very different, fun, and full of flavor ++ Dessert was terrible. The red velvet cookie was HUGE and hard as a rock. Nothing worse than something that's awkward and difficult to eat. The Firefly Taco Cantina is a welcome addition to the restaurant scene in St. Marys, adding some variety. with its take on Mexican-inspired tacos and drinks. Don't go in expecting truly authentic Mexican tacos - the food here is more of an elevated, Americanized version - similar to what you'll find in big metro areas like Jacksonville. But the tacos are tasty and creative, and they offer a solid selection of mixed drinks, beer, and wine to accompany your meal. The service could be a bit faster, but to be fair, they just recently opened so they're likely still working out some operational kinks. I'll give them another try after they've had some time to settle in. The space itself is quite spacious and can easily accommodate larger groups, making it a potentially great spot for after-work hangouts and social gatherings. My one suggestion would be to add some fans, as the open-air setup could get uncomfortably hot and buggy during the warmer southeastern summer months. There is indoor seating available, but might have to beat the crowd to snag a table. Parking is not an issue as they have private parking and also options for street parking, as long as there are no local events happening when you visit. Overall, Firefly is a decent new option for casual dining and drinks in St. Marys. It would be nice if they added a happy hour menu at some point. Yummy food, friendly service, cool atmosphere! I've been a couple times and will definitely be back. It's a great place to vibe and grab some drinks and small bites. They have shareables like carne asada fries and nachos. Their tacos are pricey but they make up for it in delicious drinks. The Birria taco I had was delicious and packed with meat and flavor. Today is Cinco de Mayo!! What better place to go than a Cantina. Salsa and other spanish music played through the speakers. Kids are welcome here and have some room to enjoy themselves. Neat fire pit. My strawberry margarita was good. It was lite in color which is a little different than the dark red (artificial color?) I'm used to but tasty. I had the shrimp and grits. It opened a few weeks ago and we finally were down in St Mary's and specific wanted to eat here. We were seated right away and the layout is outside seating with some inside upstairs but open windows. The atmosphere is very laidback and inviting. The service was a little slow but once she came over and took our order the service was spot on. The food was very good not as a traditional Mexican taco place but amazing flavor profiles. The Mexican street corn is served cold so my daughter was turned off by that but I thought it was great. We will definitely be back. read more

This restaurant is located in St. Marys...from what I hear, not a lot of new businesses are welcomed in this area/it's difficult to get in so it's kind of a big deal! We were able to find parking on the street but they also have a parking lot. The design is very pretty, it really stands out. Most of the seating is outside, some of which is covered. They have Corn Hole outside to play with friends and some tables that are bonfire style which really makes this seem like a fun spots to meet friends at for a good time. They have a large variety of food and drinks, everything was really good!! The Cali-Tito-Burrito is nothing at all like a Burrito in California lolol it's their take on the very classic California burrito, full disclosure: it's not like an actual California burrito but it was yummy...a little heavy on the avocado. This is not a Mexican restaurant, so if you're going there looking for real Mexican food, you might find yourself disappointed. This is a very unique spot with their very southern twist (which is heavy) on burritos, tacos, tostadas, and bowls. I read a review that said the taco shells are like the ones at Taco Bell, which I did notfind to be true. I posted a picture of the shell. I think what they meant was that the tacos are not deep fried as a whole like you might find at traditional Mexican restaurants. It's a fried shell, that is then stuffed with the ingredients. If you enjoy it for what it is and don't try to compare - it's really good. I thought the pricing was reasonable for the quality, the ambiance is great and the service was really good. Our only issue was the music was so loud. It was 11am for lunch...no need for such loud music. We could barely hear each other talk. The music choice was good though. Overall, it was a really great experience. Clean restrooms are super important to me, and theirs were very clean. It may look like the bathroom stalls don't have locks on the doors, but they do! First of the all the noseeums or sand flies are a problem. Get a table inside. My kids were visiting from out of town and wanted try this place as they are big fans of Mexican food. We are too. The place looks great. It's only been open 3 weeks so I think they need to work out the kinks. Place was very busy, and to counter the bug issue they had citronella candles and repellent spray like eucalyptus. It helped. It took a really long time to get our food which will probably improve Over time. It was Tuesday so everyone ordered tacos. I thought the prices were reasonable, my son-in-law paid the bill. The food could have been warmer, I think it sat a few minutes. I had a fish, shrimp and chicken taco. They were good, but could have more intense flavor profile. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. I was the only one who liked the street corn, as it's served cold because it's mayonnaise based. I will probably go back just to sit inside and perhaps enjoy a burrito served a little faster. Live music was a country music guy with a guitar that was really good. We were here on a Sunday and the kids were playing cornhole. Dogs were welcome on the patio. Queso and chips were excellent. Churchill, Fire Cracker and the Hawker were all amazing except the tortilla was slightly salted on the hawker. Tacos aren't my go to food but it was close by. Tried the grilled fish taco. I couldn't quit thinking about it that night. The service was great, food awesome for myself and my whole table so... I went back with just my wife and our dog. Music, another great taco-this time chicken with hot peppers-and we tried the spicy shrimp appetizer with some amazing sauce on it. When you get off the I-95 Kingsland exit, head east to St Mary's and skip the 50 or so chain restaurants on the way until you find this place, especially in a nice evening. Great outdoor dining options with excellent tacos (I recommend the Osborne and Light My Fire) and good salsa. All went well with a Tropicalia draft. I'm hoping I can stop again on my way back up north in 2 days. The service was very attentive despite them also efforting to close around what was a slower Thursday night. read more

This is a nice space, the building and grounds offer a very nice place to dine inn giving you an option of outdoor or indoor. I got one of the lunch specials, which was the buzz. The food was good, however I wish they fried their own shells...the shells are giving Taco Bell and that is so disappointing. Also they didn't offer carne for any of the lunch specials...which is usually a normal taco option. I believe they cater more to the southern culture or maybe even a Tex mex style. The esquites order was very good. I wish it was more authentic but over all it was a noce place to eat. read more

What a great find! We went bourbon shopping at The Brown Bag (highly recommended) and asked the help for a recommendation for a local spot lunch. That strip in Kingsland is littered w fast food chains (ugh). So they told us about this place just a couple miles down the road in St. Marys. Spacious, super clean, great outdoor seating, excellent parking and (for me) very accessible. My have had a burrito that was huge! She took by 1/2 home. I had 3 different tacos from a very extensive taco menu: Yellowstone (my fave), Birria (spicy), and Hawker. All B were very tasty. 3 was plenty. We also had the queso & chips to start. Queso could have been a tad spicer for me, but great flavor. Will def go back to try more menu items and TACOS! read more

On our Girl's weekend, visiting our friend who just moved to St. Mary's, we stopped here. Playing corn hole, on the turf outside was so fun! We love, love, love Firefly Taco. Their taco Tuesday is great--The Buzz is on sale and one of the best tacos! I usually get The Churchhill--with cream cheese and fried jalapenos, it's unusual and very tasty.
