I had a frustrating experience at this practice. My child's appointment was scheduled for 5:30 PM, and we arrived at 5:15 PM. Upon check-in, I was asked whether I had completed paperwork that I had never received in advance. The waiting room was packed, with what appeared to be 15-20 families waiting. We then sat for nearly an hour past our appointment time. At 6:20 PM, after I asked why we were running almost an hour behind schedule, we were suddenly called back immediately. What was most disappointing was that we never actually saw the dermatologist. Instead, we were seen by a PA, who was lovely, professional, and genuinely helpful. However, it felt as though she was sent in response to my expressed frustration. When I later asked the front desk whether evening appointments are typically this delayed, I was told that evenings are usually "hectic." That response suggests this wasn't an unusual occurrence but rather an expected part of the schedule. The recommendation for my child was to return for 3-6 additional wart treatments. Unfortunately, there is no scenario in which I'm going to drive 30 minutes to Paramus, wait an hour or more, and then have a five-minute procedure repeated multiple times. I understand that delays happen in medicine, especially in pediatrics. But if evening appointments are consistently running this far behind, the practice needs to either schedule fewer patients or add more support. Families are balancing work, commutes, dinner, homework, etc. Waiting nearly an hour past an appointment time without communication is not respectful. Scheduling, wait times & office management left a lot to be desired. read more

I will not be going back and I'm pretty sure we can find another derm. Waited an hour past appointment time for 5 minutes with the doctor. The waiting room ran out of seating. The kid space, while initially nice to look at, needs a refresh - it needs more stuff (especially with an hour long wait) and that hanging seat is not meant to be sat on but the sign is on the back. read more

Appointment date went well, but was sent for an ultra sound for a lump/mass on back of my head post traumatic brain injury. It's been two weeks with no results. I called four times, different dates, to be told I will be called back before the end of day... and no call back. It seems like something that takes less than a two minute phone call to give peace of mind or take my next step, and I haven't been afforded that. This review is for pediatric dermatology based on 3 visits this year. My baby developed terrible skin issues (imagine eczema skin that is starting to look like burn skin). We saw his pediatrician and local dermatologist but his skin progressively got worse. Couple local moms recommended Dr Chun despite being over half hour drive away. I took the chance because his skin was out of control and he was only 4 months old. I am SO glad I did. After hearing my baby's issues, scheduling lady squeezed me in for the first appointment available. Dr Chun checked his body and then came back with recommendation. She spent time explaining to us what her diagnosis is and what the treatment plan entails. After following her treatment plan, his skin started to clear up in 3 days! We had a follow up appointment to see how he was doing. For our second appt, we waited about 30-45 mins and the actual appt was probably like 10 mins. As much as I would love for appointments to run on time, I think we should have more empathy since we do not know what Dr Chun is going through. For our first appt, I was a hot mess and appreciated that she spent time with us (I won't be surprised if we caused some delays). Sadly 6 months later, my baby's skin flared up again and it got infected. We had to see Dr Chun for the third time. After following her treatment plan, his skin improved drastically after couple days. I can't emphasize how great her treatment plan is. She is literally a miracle worker. Note: we had an insurance issue with one of the ointments prescribed because CVS wanted to charge us $500! They helped us find another pharmacy who charged us $45. read more

I suffered with adult acne for decades. I tried seeing a derm many years ago and did nothing for me. So I thought I'd just have to manage and live with it as I wasn't interested in Accutane. As I got older, I had to deal with aging and the acne issues persisted. I got fed up and sought an appointment near me with the earliest date available. The wait is kind of long, and there are mostly pediatric patients. I wasn't sure if she would be able to address my issue well. When she saw me and learned that I had this issue for many years, she tried to temper my expectation. She told me she'll go aggressive at first and prescribed topical and medication. Long story short, I no longer have acne issues! My skin has been clear for years since I've seen her. I still take the med she prescribed to keep the hormonal acne issues at bay. She has great energy about her and is knowledgeable. The reason I gave only 4 stars and not 5 is due to the waiting time, difficulty of getting an appointment early, and challenges of speaking to someone or having someone get back to you with a question about medication. read more

The office is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Dr. Sunny Chun is great - she has seen my son and his skin improved tremendously with her recommendations. I've referred someone here and the difference in just a few weeks was like night and day. I highly recommend Sunny Chun. The reason I knocked off one star is because unfortunately, the wait before you get in the room and the wait while in the room to be seen is long. I was not impressed. After waiting 45 minutes AFTER my appointment time dr Chun spent less than 5 minutes with my daughter. Two meds were prescribed and they make you use a specific pharmacy. I couldn't afford the meds and left repeated messages for both the doctor and the Pharmacy for generic brand. same prescription sent. Kept calling dr and finally got a person to tell me someone would speak to dr about a new prescription, 2 weeks after my appointment. The customer service here is non existent, they don't care about the patient. Just a money grab. We will not be going back. read more

Dr.Chun is the BEST dermatologist I have ever been to. I have seen her for my acne as well as cosmetic procedures. She is knowledgeable and will explain any question/concerns you might have. Unfortunately, they just don't answer calls or believe in customer service. This is true even when the patient *needs* them to call the pharmacy. So far, 5 calls about a needed prescription (two from the pharmacy, three from me) have gone unanswered. Messages aren't returned, either. Even faxes don't get them to act. I'd strongly recommend going somewhere else. Somewhere they believe in being professional and responsive. That isn't SKC Dermatology. read more

Looking for a new dermatologist, I went here on a recommendation. For the positives, I will say that I found the office clean and inviting, and the staff seemed friendly. Dr. Sunny Chun was also very pleasant, however, she brought a student/intern (not sure which) into the room who she allowed to ask questions concerning what I was being seen for. I was very uncomfortable with this and thought I should have been consulted first. Additionally, I didn't hear back about the result for several weeks. I called and was told someone would get back to me. They did, on Friday afternoon with a voicemail to please call them about the results. I call back and the office was already closed. Naturally I worry all weekend. I call on Monday to be told that everything was Fine, they just don't leave details on a voicemail. read more

Place is very nice & clean. Problem is once you leave from there to get in contact for help or any questions is impossible and no one will get back to you. Only way you get someone on the phone is if you call for an appointment other then that you can forget about it. Dr. Chun immediately solved a problem on my young daughter that a local Derm failed to resolve for over a year. She answered all of my concerns and even took the time to personally converse with me over the phone.
