DO NOT PURCHASE A CAR HERE!! We purchased a 2017 Cadillac ATS. The radio did not work and we were repeatedly told during the test drive that ANYTHING wrong with the vehicle would be fixed by them. Let's discuss the financing really fast before we get into all of the issues with the vehicle. We were told we had a 13% interest rate. We got the paperwork MAILED TO US they would not give it to us there- and suprise we had a 29.99% interest rate. Wtf! When we discussed this with them on the phone after receiving the paperwork we were told that the interest rates were just high rn and to come back in 6 months to refinance and they promised it would be no issue to get us a lower interest rate. They also financed us through a predatory finance company called Santander which was not the one we were supposed to go through. They will literally finance you through whomever gives THEM the most money for the car and not what is best for you as the customer. We bought the car. The next morning-NOT EVEN 12 hours of having the vehicle the check engine light came on. I immediately called and since it was a Saturday I was told it would have to wait until MONDAY when the actual techs were in. Imagine my surprise when MONDAY morning I call the person that sold me the vehicle, Ryan whom during the purchasing said he would be there for us with this vehicle- told us that he just "sold the car" and that we would have to work with the maintenance dept to get it looked at. It took forever to get the car looked at. We had a previously scheduled appt for the radio. The radio was fixed- THATS THE ONLY DAMN THING EVER TOUCHED- while there we told them the light was on and we were having major issues with the car. The check engine light was on, the transmission was making a weird shutter, and the tires were making a weird noise. They refused to look at it and told us another appt would have to be made. Two weeks later we take the car to the appt for the check engine light. Come to find out it was a shutter system on the front of the car. They told us it was fixed and all they did was CLEAR THE CODE. The next morning I left for work and the light came back on.-surprise. We had also mentioned an issue/shutter with the transmission in the car. We took it back as the light was back on and told them about the transmission. They "reprogrammed" the active shutter system and said nothing was wrong with the transmission and they drove it and didn't feel the shutter. I had reset my mileage before dropping it off and they literally drove the car 3 miles. After leaving this appointment and yet again being told nothing was wrong the light came back on. I was extremely worried about my vehicle and was getting the run around from Skco and it was taking WEEKS to get any appt and nothing was being done so we took it to another shop. My back wheels were about to FALL OFF. The back axels were about to come out of the rear end. Every single bolt was loose and backed out. That was the big reason for the noise/vibrations we were feeling but Skco couldn't feel. We also had them look at the transmission so see about the shutter and Cadillac said the transmission was going out and we could flush it to try and help lessen the shutter- again Skco said nothing was wrong with the transmission. THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON A CAR WE JUST PURCHASED. SKCO REFUSED TO ADMIT ANYTHING WAS WRONG AND GAVE US A CONTINUAL RUN AROUND. Fast forward a few months later the transmission fully went out and it was $7,800.00 to rebuild or $10,000 for a new transmission for a vehicle we financed at $18,000. I also had to stack the negative equity onto a new vehicle as I was stranded and was going to loose my job. The new company we bought the vehicle through has been a DREAM. I can call my sales associate for ANYTHING and he always answers and does anything he can do help. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MULLINAX FORD. Tried to do business with these folks, Gavin the Salesman was GREAT!! My issues came with the sales manager Riz. I understand that car companies are in the business to make. Profit and keep the doors open, and was in no way trying to low ball on my offer for the vehicle we were interested in for our daughter. I knew the value on the car and it was priced close to the value. So I tried to work them a little and get down to the value. Riz wasn't having it, and I'm ok with that. He is all about SKCO making as much money as they can on each car even if it means losing a for sure sale. My issues came when he came over to talk with us, and presented a paper "showing" the car was "worth" 4k more than they had it listed for. I said no sir it's not, this car is worth X amount based on everything for our area not this nationwide price you are trying to show me. Then asks why pay cash? Just finance it and have really low payments? I don't want to finance I am paying cash, the amount I want to pay has nothing to do with how much money I have in my pocket it has to do with you charging more than the car is worth. He the tells me another lie in, our Doc fee is only $695 everyone else is $1,200. I said no they aren't, I just walked from a place that wanted to charge me $995 for a doc fee. I'm not paying you to complete the paperwork that is involved with selling the car that you are in business to sell. That price is built in to the sale price. So in typical car salesman fashion it was lie after lie to try and Doop you in to making the purchase. I walked because I didn't trust anything Riz was telling me. If they were the last car dealer on earth I would wear my adidas soles off walking and go the rest of my life bear footed before I stepped foot in that dealership!! read more

Saw a truck on auto trader and I knew I wanted it. The price was a bit high but for the truck I was willing to compromise. I believe in paying fair value. I worked with Derrick who referred to directly to the sale manager when I tried to negotiate over the phone. The sales manager Riz was your typical company man, eyes in profit only. These things don't bother me. Car sales men have a reputation for a reason. That has nothing to do with my rating. When I arrived by Uber they pulled the truck around and I test drove it. I smelled smoke. This isn't a deal breaker. I like the truck, so I asked rhetorically, "so the previous owner was a smoker". Derrick lies and says "you're probably smelling me". I don't respect lairs. At all. Sale men have a tendency when it comes to sale that rather than sell people they lie to them and they think that is closing someone. When you lie you're not closing your ruining your own creditability. - So, first warning THESE PEOPLE ARE LIARS. Moving on. I go in to close the deal and nearly walk out and order another Uber. A disagreement on taxes. Riz won't budge. I reflect and concede in the interest of getting the truck. Here's my problem with this dealership. Once the negotiation is over. I've bought a vehicle from these people. I've given them more than they should get, they are making a profit and I'm no where near difficult in terms of being a buyer. Although I have every right to be. So now that I've given this dealership the money, or agreed to their stubbornness and I'm being a rational person what follows really tells me everything I need to know about these people. The truck isn't cleaned, I'm driving joke smelling smoke, it wasn't cleaned out and they didn't even bother to take off the stickers on the wind shield. These stickers were hard to remove on my own. The back window has papers stuck on with adhesive that they didn't bother to remove. There was a stain on the passenger door that came off after I paid for it to be properly detailed. They didn't even top off the tank after one of them said they would. There is a reason the small things piss me off. Because they are so small that there is no excuse that they're not done. This deal closed at the end of the day. Nobody was coming in after me. I just dropped 35k on this truck. While Riz and Derrick don't do detail, or gas, or stickers this deal was so irrelevant to these two sellers that they didn't even bother checking the truck before I left to ensure they were at least giving me WHAT I PAID FOR, IN THE BEST CONDITION THAT THEY COULD. I had half the mind to turn around drop the keys off, call Navy Fed and have them cancel the check immediately. This is not what sales is about. This isn't how you develop repeat business and it's not how professional sales are followed through. It's called service after the sale and this dealership doesn't attempt to give it. I wouldn't say don't go here. Rather this is my advice for going here. Make them do their job. That's all. These are small things that consumers deserve. It's not entitlement, it's simple. They aren't giving you anything, you are buying it, but service after the sale is a real thing amongst professional sales. I know because I've done my time. I spent 200 dollars getting the smoke smell out of a truck that I spent over 35k on. These two men don't respect costumers and Riz specifically treats costumers like he is doing them some big favor by taking your money and giving you a half ass service. Absolutely terrible. They did NOT inform me that all my tag paperwork was included in the papers I signed and when I called to ask the guy said it was told to me on date of purchase which is a lie!!! I told him that wasn't the case he followed on to argue with me, talk over me, and then stated he was Not going to argue with me all the while doing so. Where do I start. Seen a nice suv online below 100k miles. Went and test drove it and it was fine. I gave them 5000$ down in cash. In under 12 hours the transmission went out and it would NOT move. Took it back and they were cool about by all means. Looked at another car and this car is actually drivable except it came with bad tires and needed some part replaced but it's not a major part. Told us the part would be in within 2 or 3 days and to bring it to them when it arrives. Waited those days and got no call. Waited 2 more days just to give people some time because I know how it is. Finally called and turns out that no part was ordered or even mentioned to be ordered. Had to wait 2 weeks for the part to actually be at the dealership. My wife was almost T boned in the first vehicle because it stalled in an intersection so it really upset me. This place is a joke and the owner and manager are leeches. They DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS AT ALL. Only the money you give them. Big liars. Hope the place runs into the ground honestly. Riz or Roz or whoever he is, POS. read more

The worst car repair experience in my life. I called in advance and made them aware of the repair that I needed. They gave me a hard time and HEARD NOTHING I SAID, only to confirm that what I told them was correct. They were COMPLETELY UNPREPARED to make the repair. I waited from 845am until 12pm AND MISSED WORK only for them to tell me AT THE END they couldn't do it. And NOW they are charging me for wasting my time. $45. My husband and I had to replace our car after an accident. We were reccomend to Skco by our family, and we were not disappointed. The staff here is absolutely amazing. Victor was the gentleman who helped us and he went above and beyond to ensure we got what we were looking for and in our price range. We had some minor tinting issues which they are helping us to correct and they replaced the battery free of charge as well!! They are an absolutely wonderful dealership. I was at SKCO Automotive today. I had been there for almost 5 hours. My salesman was actually a nice man, so i have absolutely nothing bad to say about him. After going through this ridiculous process of trying to prove my income for 2-3 hours and trying to be put in a car the finance company wanted me to have. I was exhausted, over it and ready to leave. As if that wasn't enough, someone decided to make a big deal out of nothing. My children went ahead of me and went to the door. They were holding the door for each other and then was holding it for me, waiting for me to catch up and come out. Before I got to the door they were approached by a lady. She told my children to either go out the door or go find their moma or daddy and they they were letting the air out. I was appalled!! I asked her what was the problem. I asked her name and she mumbled something and I asked her again and she told me she didn't owe me an explanation!! Come to find out she was the owner. The salesman walked up to me try to find out what was going on. She began to butt in, so then the gentleman walked me out the door to discuss it. it started to rain, he offered to grab an umbrella for me. We make our way into the building and the owner runs up to the salesman and tells him he is her employee and He better not walk me out the door. How pathetic and nasty can a human be over nothing!! I'm sick of people acting ignorant for no reason towards me. So needless to say I left all deals on the table and vowed to make it known that I would never spend a dime with a company that doesn't value my business or dollar. So it's above me now!! Oh and if you plan on purchasing a car using your business don't waste your time! They have no idea how to process a sales like that. read more

I saw a car advertised on Cars.com by this dealership and called ahead to ask if I could check it out and test drive it. The lady who answered was very polite and connected me with a salesman who arranged for me to come straight there. I walked in and sat with the salesman that day only to be told that the car had yet to be checked by the mechanics or detailed, and I would not be able to see it. The people were friendly, the dealership and all the cars outside were clean, and I appreciate that they didn't try to weasel their way into some money after I couldn't see the car I wanted, but why would you advertise a car online when you know no one will be able to look at it for at least four more days? Advertise it when it's available. read more

So I am in the process of buying a used car. I have seen allot of local people driving cars with SKCO tags and thought it would be a good place to look. I arrived there with my dad and began to look at cars. We both kind of split up looking at either end of the lot. One salesman walked past me nodded to my existence but didn't ask if I needed any help. My dad then joined me as we looked at several cars that seemed to be viable options. we were looking there together when finally A man asked if we had been helped. We told him that we had not but wished to be. He then signaled to the other salesmen saying we needed assistance we waited in anticipation but no one came. So after an almost hour long visit we were never acknowledged. To add insult to injury none of the cars had price tags they said to ask the sales rep, furthermore the cars had barcodes for more information that lead to blank web pages. Overall I was extremely disappointed that these "salesmen" would rather take a smoke break than help a potential buyer. read more

I have bought 3 cars in the last 6 months from SKCO and the service is excellent! Soon as we got on the lot we were ask to be helped by a nice lady each time who calls for a salesperson. They allow you the look without being pushy. Took about 2 hours for the whole process and we were on our way. Don't expect them to honor their 30 day warranty if something is wrong with your vehicle. They will blame you for damage it was impossible for you to have caused, and refuse to pay their half. The service department will lie about the damage to their "warranty company" (I found out through other means that even though the service manager and I quote was "not allowed to divulge that information"- what a laugh- that the 30 day warranties are in house). Warranty here isn't worth the paper they print it on. Dishonest and incompetent- they live up to the "used car lot" trope. read more

I saw a car online at SKCO on Airport. I ask about carfax and was not furnished one until after the deal was done. When I got it, I found out the SUV had been in a wreck and rearended someone. I looked in the front but did not see any problems until later when I got home. The front bumper was replaced and the paint did not match. SUV is pearl the bumper is white! I got an estimate and it will cost $500 to paint. Got to looking and there were two more dents. Got estimate and the total to fix is $1200. The did not disclose the damage at all or I would have reduced my offer to cover the damage. Inspect what you want to buy from them very close!!!!! read more

I created a Yelp today solely to alert individuals NOT to do business with SKCO automotive in Mobile,Al. The car salesmen are "sleazy" and absolutely unprofessional. Recently, I found a Nissan 350z listed on cars.com for a great price. I took my girlfriend who planned on buying the car up to SKCO to check it out and do a credit application and everything went well the first day. I did a credit application as well because I planned on co-signing with my girlfriend. Over the course of a few days and negotiating myself my girlfriend and Robert, the car salesmen, finally met to test drive the car and continue negotiating. Before I even test drove the vehicle, I asked TWICE for a carfax or some documentation of what the car had been through, I was acknowledged, but my request was completely ignored. (At this point my girlfriend and myself are desperate for an additional car because our work schedules begin to conflict the upcoming week and I won't be able to take her to work). So although we were ignored we proceeded to test drive the car. Everything went well and upon our arrival back to SKCO we go into Roberts office where he offers us "coffee" and flashes a pint sized bottle of Hennessy at us. Robert had been sipping on what we thought was coffee since we met with him that evening. We laughed, but at that moment we should have walked out, we really needed to purchase a car and SKCO's closing hours were approaching. We came to an agreement on the monthly payment price, and get ready to sign the final paperwork on the vehicle, with the female secretary. As soon as I looked at the papers it had MY name stated as the primary buyer on all paperwork even though I made it apparent MULTIPLE times that I was only there to co-sign with my girlfriend. The secretary called Robert back into her office and he made it known by raising his voice that this was no mistake and it needed to be this way because my credit score was better than my girlfriend's. He then took me back to his office where we had a loud argument about what the agreement actually was. He proceeded to try to convince me to buy the car with my girlfriend as the cosigner by yelling at me and showing me other customers confidential credit reports!! He emphasized that regardless of who the buyer or co-buyer was it would show up on our credit reports as joint. I told him that this was besides the point and instead of trying to argue an point I simply walked out he completely wasted myself and my girlfriend's time. Those were the major points that I felt should be made public, but throughout the course of my doing business with SKCO I noticed at least 5 other things that would cause me to steer away from SKCO automotive. Car salesmen drinking on the job is unacceptable and SKCO should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for not investigating the individuals they hire even further!! Also, I now don't feel safe with SKCO having my credit information!! Robert openly and illegally showed me other customers credit reports after these customers signed statements of agreements understanding that SKCO would not share this information with any 3rd parties!! read more
