This is long overdue. Came here awhile back. Love this place. They're known for their Alice In Wonderland dining rooms and the festive eggshaped restrooms. The quality of food was really good. It's petite sizes but surprisingly super filling. My favorite dish was the little eggshaped custard with the tiny spoon of caviar that was served by a theatrical man. My wife booked us at the Gallery last night, which was an amazing experience. The ambiance showcases the bright hues of a cocktail room, reminiscent of a golden era. Filippo and the rest of the staff were very accommodating and attentive to our needs. They helped create a delicious meal from start to finish, paired with some good English sparking and wine. Going to Sketch London is an adventure and an experience. We had to make reservations weeks in advance and the condition of the lunch reservation is to order at least two courses per person. The location is beautiful and we had lunch at the Glade which is the room that looks like you are entering into a Monet paining down to the green mossy textured carpet. Everyone on the staff was really nice and they even gave us some band aids to help with the "new-shoes" issue that I had going on at the moment. The place is so cute and photogenic that we spent a good amount of time just taking it in and admiring the floral arrangements which were extra ordinary. For drinks we opted to go for smoothies. I had the Bananalicious which was hands down one of the best smoothies I've ever had and really unique. The restaurant space is rather small so the blender noise on the bat was quite deafening and I am sorry for everyone else who had to put up with the noise so that I could get the smoothie but it was totally worth it. For my appetizer I had the Poke. Traditionally poke has Tuna or some sort of sliced fish (and hence the name poke) . I asked what fish there was and they said "Ground shrimp" which I imagined to be a shrimp poke bowl but was instead a ball or rice with some pickled vegetables and kimchi.. it came with a side of mayo or some sauce which didn't add much to the dish and was overall a C+ Since i was not impressed with the Hawaiian dish, i went British for the main and I ordered the Beef rib Shepherds pie but ALAS it was also on the bland and disappointing side. I probably ate one third of it, which is weird on me because i am know to be a person to eat every single last morsel but the dish was just so unappetizing that i just ate the bread with butter instead, which was the culinary highlight of the day. When we were asking for the check the waiters asked how was the meal and I was honest about my opinion, she was really sweet and apologetic and sent me home with a complementary dessert to make up for it. I thought it was a really nice treat and I was impressed with the customer service and the attention of the staff. It seems like they add 12.% to the bill for tip which I think is worth it. I would love to go back for smoothies, and I think going to the bathrooms in Sketch is worth the time and effort, so i would still recommend it for the decorations more than the food itself. read more

What a treat! This is a review for the 3 Michelin star restaurant. London had a wealth of elevated dining options, from whimsical to traditional formal. Sketch's ambiance is rich and vibrant with jewel tones and sumptuous textiles. You really feel like the night is going to be special as soon as the double doors are pushed open to reveal the jewelry box inside. The food was beautifully presented as we first feasted with our eyes. We read the descriptions of each item and were skeptical as to how they would actually taste. Part art-gallery, part-Instagram-bait, Sketch is a great tourist option for brunch or any meal really. They have multiple dining areas, each with a different theme and unique personality, that are open during different times of day and different specialities. We went for breakfast during the week. The place is amazing - every room is just spectacular. (Make sure to check out the downstairs bathroom, which is wild.) The breakfast menu was limited, but all the dishes we had were very good. The non-alcoholic juice mixes were really good too. Our one complaint: Once we were served, a waiter never came back to check on us, even though the room wasn't even close to full. We were trying to get butter and order an additional drink, but they never even looked our way once the food arrived. Worst, worst, worst! I definitely do not have anything great to say about sketch. My husband and I came here back two Saturday nights ago; we were both super hyped about dining here. Unfortunately the evening was unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. We arrived for our reservation at 10:00 p.m. and were promptly sat at our table. The server handed us our menus and said that she would be back. We wanted to start our meal with a bottle of wine which we had to wait for the sommelier to come over to actually order(mind you we already were set with what we wanted) Finally it came time to order our meals. My husband tried to order the steak and was told they were out for the evening; he proceeded to ordered the lamb, and yet again we were told they were out of it! Why was this not told to us prior to placing our order?! We definitely would have left immediately. He ended up having to order the bone marrow(not great and lacked flavor) I ordered the tortellini and was not overly impressed by the preparation of the dish(pretty Bland) The final straw of the experience at Sketch was the fact that my husband had a half glass of wine in front of him and after we were finished paying the bill the bus person took the glass away without even asking if we were finished. Sketch definitely has a lot of work to do before reaching the standards of a high end restaurant. I come to London often and will definitely not be returning to this place. After having Sketch on my list of go-tos for the longest time, I finally had the chance to stop by and try the afternoon tea experience. The interior was very fun and eclectic with each room showcasing a different style of decor. We were seated in the afternoon tea room where there were live violinists playing. The menu was priced at £75 per person and there were the usual finger sandwiches and various cakes/desserts. Like many other afternoon tea experiences, I did feel that the ratio of savory foods to sweets was a bit off. By the end, I felt extremely full and a little sick from the amount of sugar I consumed. I would say that there wasn't anything that particularly stood out about the food, but I also didn't have super high expectations since the main reason I wanted to come here was to take a look at the famous bathrooms. While the bathrooms were cool and futuristic, they were essentially just fancy porta potties. It was still a funky and colorful place to take some cool photos. Overall, Sketch was a fun experience, but I don't think it was worth its rather steep price for the afternoon tea experience. If you are looking to do afternoon tea in London, there are plenty of other more affordable options; however, if you are looking for social media-friendly place, Sketch is a good place to consider. read more

I had to come here after seeing gorgeous pictures of the dining hall for dinner. I made reservations online about a week before, and that whole process was super simple. The atmosphere did NOT disappoint. The dining area is every bit as magical and beautiful as social media makes it appear. I got the mac and cheese as a side, and it wasn't terrible--just different. I liked the creamy texture, but there was some sort of curry powder in it, and it took some time to get used to. My husband got the bone marrow, and he didn't think it was great. Our server was a little odd. She forgot about us, and then she'd remember and hover--AS WE ATE. Awkward! Sketch is not a restaurant. It's an EXPERIENCE. My fiancé and I snagged a reservation for two at Sketch's Lecture Room & Library-- it's earned 3 Michelin stars as is *well* deserving of them. There are four distinct different experiences at Sketch: two bars (the Parlour and the Glade), an upscale but casual restaurant (the Gallery) and lastly, the fine dining experience at the Lecture Room and Library. My partner and I were able to experience both bars and the fine dining experiences. Every other restaurant has been ruined for me. This place is friggin hip. And an experience. While waiting for our reservation upstairs, we sat down for some cocktails at the Glade, which felt very intimate. My fiancé noted and appreciated all the details that went into the bar making it feel like we were sipping our libations while tucked away in the underskirt of a forest. He loved the lighting and the cocktails were also delicious. This would be perfect for a couple looking for a nice evening out and wanting more intimacy. We went to the Parlour after dinner which felt more like a social, second or third date experience, with more people dressed casually and live DJs and music playing in the bar. Similar cocktail menu, but there is one page that is specifically for Parlour cocktails v. The ones offered in the Glade. For the dinner: all I can say is, they were thorough in accommodating my crustacean allergies, confirmed with me SEVERAL times over phone and email before we dined with them, and throughout the course of the evening checked in. I would recommend getting the tasting menu as it is the same price as ordering "a la carte", and they made adjustments to the dinner according to my allergies. Every course was a grand slam, and there was a lot of pageantry and it felt almost like a performance. For instance, they have their sommelier wandering around with a champagne cart before dinner in order to entice you to have an aperitif. If I were to dine here again, I probably would spend less money on wine, and instead ask if they could give us cocktails. Not saying the wine is bad, but certainly not worth an 85 pound glass of champagne (IMHO.) Anytime a guest enters or leaves the dining room, both grand doors swing open and it makes you feel like a celebrity (probably because if you eat here, you have the budget of one.) Would I eat here again? Yes, if I had the money. Would I recommend eating here at least once? HELL yes. Every dish was delicious and we soaked it up. Ok, this place gets a solid 5 stars for ambience, decor, and friendliness. But if you are coming to eat, not just take Instagram photos, don't expect to walk away feeling completely satisfied. The minute you walk in, the decor is on point. It really is dreamlike. They have such lovely staff working. Multiple greeting points, coat check, and super organized. I had high hopes at this point. We were greeted by our serves, both extremely friendly, but not overly fussy towards us. The food, lackluster. There are two sides to the menu. Traditional and "open minded" we chose two from each side. The filet was pretty bland, and in my opinion, ridiculously chewy. Scallops (from the open mind section) were delicious, but only came with 3. The soufflé of scallop and fish was off putting. It basically tasted of only eggs with a mild scallop flavor, drenched in heavy cream. Surprisingly, the most flavorful dish was the gnocchi and the side of fries. Again, lovely place. We were informed that there is a bar upstairs so we decided to take a look. Upstairs you can find egg shaped toilet stalls, which was incredible! The egg shaped toilet stalls are separated into men and women; however, not distinctively identified. My friend attempted to use the stall, which you're allowed to, but an employee told her to return to the other side for the women section. I came here for lunch with the gals before the shelter in place order and our meal was so disappointing. I had the smoked salmon benedict and some toast on the table. The bread in my benedict was so stale and tough, I had a hard time cutting through it. The smoked salmon was not fresh and had a smell to it. I was not full from the meal and my stomach was upset later on. It is a beautiful experience though and the staff were all very nice.
