I highly recommend taking your PWC to SkeTech. Jeff is an old-school no BS kind of guy operating in an industry with a lot of con artists. I brought my 2009 Sea Doo GTX in and talked with Jeff about the issues (top speed 30 MPH with high rpm) I was facing, he even helped with connecting the trailer during pickup and drop off. Jeff told me he would call me in a day or two with some news. Sure enough, I got a call the next day. Jeff explained to me patiently what he thought was the issue but that there was no guarantee it would fix my performance. He didn't try to sell me on anything, and explained what I could do, the price, and if it was needed today, next year, or in 5 years. He was very professional and accommodating, letting me have some time to think over my decision financially. Overall he got the job done and was right on the quote. Price was right and I felt good having my machine in the hands of SkeTech. Ski seems to be running better than ever before, thanks to SkeTech. I highly recommend this shop for PWC needs and even saw that the shop takes care of all the Chicago harbor rental jet ski repairs too. And those have seen some beatings. I cannot recommend this shop enough. I've had SeaDoo for 20 years and used 3 other service shops. This is the first guy I'd go back to. He did a good analysis on my ski... and found a couple things I wasn't aware and hadn't been repaired properly by previous guy. I have to say that I bought a new Honda Aquatrax without knowing anything about having ever owned rode or even maintained a wave runner. I have as you can see in the picture owned ATVs and dirt bikes so I did not think a wave runner was going to be a big deal. Wow!!! was I mistaken at first. My local trust Honda deal which sold me the boat explained to me i have to bring it in for a check up after the first 10 hours of use. OK i did so which was a charge of $350.00 thanks Des Plaines Honda for the whole deal. I brought my boat home and had seen Skitech near my home just never stopped in to see what they offered. Upon being raped in the rear from my dealer. I made it a point to stop in and see what Skitech was all about. I met with the owner Jeff.. who i explained to him I was the owner of a Honda Aquatrax which I just had a 10 hour maintenance performed on it and it had cost $350 bucks for a replacement plugs, oil Change and to make sure all the nuts and bolts are still in place and none have come loose. He Explained to me that this is a way that dealers lure people into buying a service contract from them. they show them the rates for maintenance and to winterize their boats and summarize them also. After they tally all the Numbers up you go oh shit and buy a maintenance plan from them for half the price which is around $1200.00 for 48 months. So after we did some talking Jeff just explained to me what he charges to do what they just did is $145.00. $65.00 for the oil change and another $80.00 bucks for the tune up service. I did not know Jeff from Adam and he did not bad mouth the dealer at all which I was a bit surprised. All he did was explain to me their tactics for selling a extended plan. So I planned to have my next 50 hour service done at his shop which I did about 3 weeks later. Jeff thought there was no way i put 50 hours on this boat in 3 weeks but yes sir I rode that boat like I stole it. So I have Skitech provide my 50 hour service for me and the cost was just what he said it would be $145.00. Check out Skitech if you have a wave runner for repairs or service. I have heard of there shop few years ago when I first got into skis but never went there till now. I had a waverunner I got what was thought a good deal. Turned out to be a nightmare. I tried all that I could with what I know about seadoo but finally gave up and went to there shop. Told Jeff all about the fun I had sense owning the ski and he said he will do his best. I have done dealings with many many shops with cars trucks boats ect. But he and only 1 of 2 other places where he went way above and beyond what I had ever expected. Did more than anyone would. Never up sold me just gave it to me straight foreword and was open and honest. It's getting very hard to find people like Jeff these days and I plan on returning to him for his expertise and quality work from now on!! read more

Have been going to this shop since i was in high school and was dreaming of buying skis! Have to say its the only one of its kind around and Jeff the owner will go out of his way to make sure you have a pleasant experience whether its buying parts or getting repairs. There is a wealth of knowledge at this shop along with major history from the glory days of pwc racing. Just taking a trip in to see some of the one off rare parts and World Championship winning racing boats is well worth the trip. I go here strictly for all my parts and repairs just because i have had bad dealings with dealers and ripoff prices, two things i never encounter at Ske Tech. This guy knows his stuff!!!! Straight shooter, he repairs/maintains my fleet of 4 skis from a early 90's stand up to the latest 2013/14 GTR/RXT-X Sea Doos. Gives options and his honest opinion what to repair, when not to repair. There is not much of a choice out there and dealers are a joke with never getting to met the one working on your toys. I have been taking my jetskis here for a few years namely my ski pro. Jeff had no problem taking my money to fix this ski but can't seem to remember putting a new prop in and a new ride plate and a new scoop grate he can handle the easy bolt on things. I came by his shop yesterday and wanted him to rebuild my carbs on my sxr800 and do some other work on it.he then replied that because he didn't do the original work on it that he didn't want to get involved? Who says that?? He also does not do oil changes on seadoos which is basic maintenance? Jeff had no problem taking my money for the new prop he put in 2 years ago in my seadoo??? This guy's a poser and if you have anything you need done other then what a jiffy lube can do don't bother going to this chump. read more

I have had Jet Skis since 1995 and ride a lot of hours every summer. I have 3 machines, a 1995 HX, a 2000 RX, and an '05 GSXR. All are Sea-Doo. I have had a lot of work done over the years and have been to probably 4 different places including "dealers" . Let's be truthful, I ride hard and they ALL break! I found Jeff from a recommendation from a guy by where I ride. I had one of the "dealers" replace an engine and it went bad less than a year later. I have to say that Jeff is friendly, honest, reliable and fast. He has the fastest turn around time of any place I've been to. He has done for me everything from entire engine replacement (the one he put in is still going strong in it's 3rd season of hard riding) , winterization, jet pumps, drivelines-all with fast turn around. I also appreciate that when he is working on something, he looks around at everything else and if he sees something that is wearing out and could break soon, he'll call you and give you the option to fix it now or wait till it breaks.
