I have a 1999 Mustang GT 5.0 Convertible with 48,000 miles that I purchased new in 1999. My car hadn't been in for bumper-to-bumper maintenance since my old mechanic retired 10 years ago. I found out about Moto & Motor through a Harley friend that I ride with and when I found out that this shop also worked on cars I called and got my car in. Almost every oil and fluid got changed. The original spark plugs were also replaced. I was most impressed when Stan and his crew found a worn out Left Rear Control Arm, something that may have been a problem since I purchased the car new but it had gone unnoticed for all those years. The car runs great after the professional care. As I was leaving with my car, Stan took the time to explain to me how to trouble shoot a leak in my convertible top and what to look for. Brought my yz125 engine to the shop to have the crank case split and the insides cleaned/ diagnosed for problems and reassembled (Way beyond my YouTube knowledge of mechanics). This is after after a mouse nested in the air filter and I started It up ...... Anyways I was quoted 200 for this job and told it would take 3-4 weeks as his guy that does dirt bikes was busy. After 3 weeks he called me and I went over to find that they had just split and dissembled the the heart of the engine. The owner said that's what he quoted me for...???? and said I owed him the 200.... I begrudgingly paid him and stated that I need the engine cleaned/ fixed and reassembled because as I said before I didn't know how to do it nor did I have the tools to do it myself. He said it would be another 200 and take another 3-4 weeks. After a month and a half I called and left a message. After no response I called and left a message again. Then I went into the store after another 2 weeks and the owner was gone. There was one mechanic there and he didn't know about my engine and didn't know when the owner would be home. I went in and called multiple times over the next six months, I never got a response to a call and every time I went into the shop the owner was gone. Finally I went in and the owner was there. When I said "where the hell is my engine "? he responded " sorry we Haven't been able to get around to it" as of it wasn't of priority or worth doing.... Needless to say I took my engine and left. i found a new mechanic and brought it to him to clean/fix and reassemble. He dove right in and immediately noticed that half the transmission was missing. I called Moto motor and they claimed they don't have it and that I must have misplaced it. When I asked the owner to look for it he said " we definitely don't have it because we just cleaned our shop and parts rack and we didn't see it". I asked if he could look again and he said " I can't I'm walking out of the shop, but I'll look tomorrow and call you back". Needless to say I never heard from him and I had to buy another transmission which put me out another 200. If I could give Moto Motor 0 stars I would have. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

I have a '91 Sportster that needed some welding work done. It had a small rust through in the frame and I needed seat bungs welded to the frame. They did a great job on it. Instead of just filling in the rust hole and plopping the bungs where ever, they took the time to cut out the tube of the frame and welded in a new piece. They also put a lot of thought into the location of the seat attachments and how the seat would sit when the bike was complete. VERY happy with the results. Excellent work. read more

I rarely do reviews, but Stan and his crew deserve it. They went above and beyond expectations on more than a few occasions. Even with the supply problems everyone is having, Stan went the extra mile and sourced parts from wherever he could find them. The bike was repaired in short fashion each time and the work was exemplary. He is always super busy and its that way because the end product is so good. The few negative reviews are based on it taking longer than expected, but Im sure they got to it as fast as they could with 100 bikes in queue to be repaired. Purchased a new 2023 HD Tri Glide and then a Kendon trailer through Moto and Motor. Stan has been there from start to fIrish guiding me with proper tongue weight..hitch drop, tow rings, ratchet straps, etc etc! I have been properly schooled. We had to order some additional parts to make sure all was up to specs and safe so he gave me his adjustable tow height and tie down ratchet straps until the parts come in. And after all that.....I tried to pay him and he said...'you cannot put a price on that for it is a learning experience.". Great shop to deal with. read more

This is by far the best experience and quality overall in terms of getting your motorcycle repaired and fully serviced. I called the guys at the shop the day before taking my 2005 Ninja 250 in, and they told me they'd take a look at it right away and have it ready to go within a week. I brought the bike in the next day, and they ran through what the bike needed to get done on it (I bought it used and I'm not the best shape). The next day, I got my brake and clutch levers in the mail. As I went to the shop to drop off the levers for them to install, they told me my bike was already ready to go! Literally a one day turn around time. Any other shop I talked to in the Chicago suburbs and Chicagoland area said that at this time of the season (mid August), it would be at least a two to three week turn around time. My 2005 Ninja 250went from taking about 6 seconds to get to 15mph, to about easily over 65 in 6 seconds (or something in that ballpark). I also had a front wheel alignment problem, oil overfill, air intake connection and cleanliness problems, among a few other things. Everything was fully repaired and done with the utmost care and quality. Stan, Greg and all the guys at this shop truly care about their craft. Not to mention that their prices are very fair and well under most shops in the Chicago suburbs. In addition, as I'm a new rider and new to the world of motorcycles, I was making a lot of stupid mistakes with starting the bike properly among other things. Greg, one of the mechanics at the shop, personally came over to me and gave me a lot of advice with riding and general motorcycle care, honestly answering any questions I had relating to motorcycles. I'll be recommending all of my friends to this shop and highly recommend anyone looking for trustworthy, honest, and quality folks to work on their bike to come to this shop. My motorcycle had a dead battery and a flat. I looked up towing services and this place popped up. I called about a half hour after they opened and about a hour after that, the transport was at my house. I got a call about a hour later telling me that the battery was in stock and mentioned that I would need tires soon.. but it was not necessary to get them now. I told them that since the bike was there.. just go ahead and change the tires. I got a call back about ten minutes later and was told that they had upgraded tires for less than I was going to pay. Bike was done in a few hours... easy pick up. Wow!! What customer service. If you have any issues Moto and motor is without a doubt the place to call. Great job!!!! read more

FIRST CLASS service and work that Stan does at Moto and Motor! I had a minor repair needed for a scooter. Typically places don't want to deal with a minor fix. I called Stan and he told me to bring it in and he would see what he could do. He provided an immediate fix to the problem and had me out the door in less than 30 minutes. I rarely write reviews, but have to share how great these guys are. I dropped off my (new to me) motorcycle yesterday to have some work done: a front tire install, a lowering link install and the front end lowered. Prices quoted were very fair. While they were at it they diagnosed and fixed a problem from the previous owner overfilling the oil a half quart and adjusted my chain for me. I don't want to set unrealistic expectations but wow, I'm impressed!They even talked me out of something that would have been pure profit for them (setting rider sag) because they said I probably didn't need it adjusted and I should ride it before wasting my money on something I didn't need. Who does that? Apparently these guys! They called me at the end of the day to tell me all work was complete. I picked it up today and am pleased with the results, the service was impeccable. As much as I'm going to hate how hard it's going be to get an opening when I need more work performed, these guys deserve their credit. They have earned a loyal customer and you should probably be one too. read more
