The staff was super helpful and efficient even though there were several customers ahead of us, they got us all set up quickly. They gave me a couple options for demo skis and recommended a pair that worked out great. The return of the gear was very easy, we wound up keeping it 1 day longer to ski more and they had no issue with it, we just settled up at the end. Love these guys - the have great rates & are great for your year round recreation needs in the white mountains. We've rented skis & snowshoes here - both at great rates. I think the snowshoes were around $15 each & there are some great places to hike in the area. We did an overnight winter camping trip and had a couple friends pick up their snowshoes here, it was fantastic. They're very accommodating and always deliver. We were going to be coming back a bit later than expected and they said it was no problems. Same for skis - our friends were visiting the area and paid about 50% what Loon & Waterville charge, not to mention no lines and easy to pickup/drop off gear. This weekend we did a kayak trip on the Pemi through Ski Fanatics and it was A+++++. They'll handle all the logistics of the trip for you, providing either a tandem or single kayak (or canoe) if you need it. Then they'll shuttle you up to Thornton and load the kayaks in the water. We did a 6 mile kayak ride back to Campton, it was amazing. Such a beautiful area and chill experience. Many people make a day of it, but we were in a rush to get to a father's day BBQ. The folks at Ski Fanatics said that was no problem and just to give them a call when we made it to the take-out spot & they would come pick us up outside of the regular shuttle schedule. We did just that. I called when we got down there & gave the rest of our group a couple minutes to catch up and pull out their kayaks. Just as we got the last one out, the tie dyed van pulled up loaded us in. For 5 people we rented 2 tandem kayaks ($55) and 1 single kayak ($40). For $30/person you can spend 2-6 hours on the river w/ transportation included (leave your car at their shop & they'll hold onto your keys). Doesn't get better than that. This really is a super friendly and accommodating business. They want you to have a great time and have delivered every time we visit! Ski Fanatics a great asset to Campton. Come make a visit in the winter so you can snowshoe out at Smarts Brook & maybe camp for the night - or visit in the warmer weather for a kayak, canoe, or tube ride down the Pemi. Our trip to Ski Fanatics was very informative. We are still on our quest for Full Tilt boots. While they did not have these boots in our son's size, the staff was great. They had great deals on all their merchandise. They explained the differences in boots. He reviewed what is upcoming for the the 2015 season. This will help us plan for next season. Ski Fanatics is great for both snow and melted snow. Water. For kayaking. Get it? Just went up to Waterville this weekend, rented equipment at Ski Fanatics. It's great; right off the exit, nice people, quick service, not super crowded. The skis we rented were well-tuned and reasonably priced. They have a nicely stocked shop too. Also used Ski Fanatics for kayaking this summer - we have our own kayaks, and used their transport service. They were great; helped us pack and load the kayaks onto the trailer, and helped us pull them out of the water at the end of the trip. Good & helpful for any sort of outdoor adventure! read more

Very disappointed in customer service. Bought a Groupon not realizing it was for weekday only (in the fine print ...Something like that shouldn't be in fine print anyway) So I sent email asking could use the groupon that I purchased using the amount that I paid and pay for the balance of what the cost is on the weekend but they said they were unable to help me. I'm not sure what Chris M is talking about because I've been doing business with Ski Fanatics for a very long time. The owners, Don and Debbie are real mountain people and love what they do. They are sharp and knowledgeable. I've bought skis there, had bikes tuned there, rented skis for friends there and never had a bad experience. Take your business there. I especially like how they have become a four season store. They run river rafting trips and will rent and transport you to a bunch of really good places on the river and then pick you up when you're finished. Yes, five stars, as good as it gets. read more

Yesterday we went on our second kayaking adventure with Ski Fanatics. We had such a great time last year we had to come back! The staff is superb and super friendly. And if you forget anything you might need for your trip, they have it there! They are all very knowledgeable and are eager to answer any questions. You can't beat their rates. My husband and I each got a single kayak @$30 a piece which included the shuttle to and from the drop-off/pick-up points. Water shoes, sunblock, drinks, snacks, waterproof camera and waterproof box/ bag are all a must have! I also suggest brining a small cooler. I have been going here for the past 2 years during the summer season for both the kayaking and the tubing, both are awesome! They drop you off and unload you into the water, making sure that you have the hang of it before they ship you off. The river is very nice and clean and easy to navigate in both circumstances. It's fun for the whole family and there is no more than a 5 minute wait for pick up, I highly recomend this place and it's not to expensive too! read more

I rented a kayak here for the 10mi Pemi trip. All the employees were very nice and accommodating. The kayaks weren't the best I've rented but were good enough. My double kayak didn't come with a bucket for supplies or one of those cubbies unfortunately; so be sure you bring a waterproof container. That said though, perhaps they do provide if you ask; I hadn't asked and has assumed there would be one in the kayak. read more

Great place to rent ski equipment and for a great price! Can't really beat $20 for skis, poles and boots... beats the $30+ at area mountain resorts (i.e. Loon, Waterville). Service was great, friendly and we were in, fitted and out and headed to the trails in 20 minutes! Definitely recommend Ski Fanatics over standing in the long, dreaded lines mountainside. read more

Had a great day kayaking the Pemi this week. Have used Ski Fanatics for the past couple years and always enjoyed our day. Our group consisted of 2 adults, a teenager, and 2 children. We rented a canoe and a double kayak. We were dropped off at Robins Nest and picked up at RTE 49. We stopped several times to picnic and swim. The equipment was in good condition and the staff were friendly. Prices were better than other places in the area. We will be back and look forward to our next excursion. read more

This place is great! I had some MFD touring plates and Salomon bindings mounted to my skis before the season started and it was done to perfection. The guys there seem to really care about their customers equipment and how important it is that service is completed with care and quality. Ski Fanatics is a great place for winter or summer gear. In the winter check out there ski and snowboard gear. They have a good selection of used gear on consignment for really good prices as well. The people working there are super nice and very knowledgeable. We were just in this weekend with a need to have 4 sets of skis fully tuned in less than a day. Their staff bent over backwards to get this done for us. I know in the Boston area near us this would have been at least a week turnaround. They also have great summer/fall hiking, biking, kayaking etc... gear and they run kayaking trips from the store. We have been happy customers for years. read more

Ripped me off on a tubing trip. Sign in the window said "15 bucks per person", and so did their web site. Went to pay, guy charged me twenty bucks a head, (times five people). I showed him the sign in his front window, guy says, "yah its been twenty bucks for a while now". What great customer service. Misleading shysters Stay away from this clip joint. And the tubing trip sucked. The tubes are Walmart junk. read more
