Today was my first time coming to Ski Haus and will not be my last. It's a massive building that I've never even know was there. I came in 12/15 looking for goggles and was overwhelmed with such a selection! I worked with Myles and he was such a peach. He knew so much about different goggles, brands, specs and taught me how to take lenses on and off. He was incredible, best customer service I've ever had at a ski shop. A simple exchange inquiry turned into an unpleasant experience due to the clerk's reluctance to assist and the unnecessary blaming of the customer! You see, I am a novice skier and I am pretty clueless when it comes to equipment shopping. I picked out the wrong pair of ski poles last week, I realized they were terrible on my wrists after one ski trip. I requested for an exchange today, and requested for help with choosing the right ski poles. I explained to the store clerk my situation. He looked at the poles, then looked at me in disbelief and said, "you chose the cheap $30 youth ski poles and what do you expect?" Then told me talk to the manager and walked away. I felt embarrassed, and I even I apologized for being a beginner (I am not sure why I apologized). The manager helped me pick out a new pair (more expensive but better wrist support) and offered 10% discount. But he couldn't issue me a refund due to some store policy on used merchandise. It was fine, I needed the ski poles and just accepted that. I had the intention of shopping for more gear while there, but the unpleasant interaction with that store clerk was so unpleasant, I just wanted to leave the store and never come back! read more

The business carries quality products, but some of the people that work there really don't like working there. A good example is we were buying some stuff from them, namely outside furniture and patio equipment. We were very clear what we wanted and the manager set up the order with the wrong product, a mistake Coming out around $5000 which was not cut until after was delivered. This is not the owners fault but perhaps just at the quality of workers today is poor. read more

Just got fitted for new ski boots here. The boot technician Matt was super patient and knowledgeable, and spent 1-1/2 hours with me, having me try on multiple pairs to make sure I got the perfect fit. Great service, great boots, and great price! Much better on all counts than a "high end" competitor I had gone to previously. I would recommend Ski Haus Woburn to anyone. read more

For skiing, you need two kinds of balance. There's the kind that helps to avoid big falls (and that requires practice and lessons - seriously, do NOT let your brother/best pal/boyfriend teach you, take a lesson). The OTHER balance is the kind that you need in the ski store. You want the right gear to be safe and have fun without spending a fortune. You also need good advice - and from the guys who are thinking safety and fun (and not sales commissions). These guys are the real deal. They'll tell you if you need new stuff AND they'll tell you if those boots are good for another season. They'll give you the right advice on equipment and they'll install it right and on time. I could go to a lot of different ski shops. I drive past SEVERAL, every year, to go and see the Ski Haus guys. If someone was offering free tune-ups in my living room, I'd probably still go to Burlington. Why? Because I need my knees to ski and I trust these guys. read more

Can't say enough good things about this place and the friendly and knowledgeable staff. I first bought a pair of boots and after trying them out a few times, I realized my right foot is a little wider than my left and that boot was pinching in one spot. I brought them back in and they worked some kind of magic at no charge and now they both fit perfectly. Also price matched a pair of skis I bought to a website where I found them cheaper. Basically everything in there is OVERPRICED. Not by a couple of dollars but by hundreds. I was looking at a patio set that was thousands of dollars and immediatley left when I wasnt even greeted by anyone, and then I realize Im the only customer in there! It was a Saturday about 4 pm.......ghost town....then i figured out why, their patio funiture in general was on average 24-35% higher priced, and not for a better quality set that is for sure. We went to buy 2 pairs of beginner/intermediate boots. We did see a bunch of sale items on line on the SkiHaus site and thought we could get lucky for $250 or less per pair. After getting to the back of the store/boot area. KEVIN approached us. He let us know "we needed socks". I asked if they had demo socks (normal) he said "no." I was confused as he just starred at us like we had to leave. We pulled a $30 pair off the rack and he started the fitting process. He came back with $600 Lange's and I told him we were looking for sale items or something much less. He said he was just trying them for fitting. He then told us they were all they had. I asked him to check and he came back with a $100 pair, told us he wasn't responsible for any fit issues and boot work was very expensive. They fit, he told us to go pay for them and to "not leave with the boots until they were paid for". I'm bringing them back tomorrow as I can't stand the thought of giving this JERK my money. It seemed there were some great younger associates helping other people. Wish we got them.... Not the experience we were looking for with the upcoming season on a Sunday with my family. Rude. Went in to see what kid skis might be on clearance. It's a good time of year to look for a deal. They had about ten different models in different sizes. I asked an employee if those were all the kid skis in stock and he said in a snarky voice. "Yes that's it! It's APRIL". It really wouldn't be so hard to provide better customer service. read more

It is what it is...one of few ski shops in area to get a decent tune. I have no opinion other than the folks manning the ski/board service desk be more attentive and understand that they call it "work" for a reason. I came in to pick up some skis I had tuned and after the youngster behind the desk finished with a customer he just sat there for 5 minutes fiddling around never once looking up and seeing if another customer was waiting. Same thing when I dropped off the skis...took almost 10 minutes for someone to come out of the back to wait on a customer all the whole front desk person not taking notice? read more

I went in on a busy Friday afternoon with no appointment and Charlie took the time to help me find the right ski boots. Although he had just finished helping another customer get fitted, he did a throughout assessment of my specific needs (low arch, pronation etc.) Also he was very knowledgeable answering all my questions. Ski Haus has offered a great experience time and time again. We have gone to them for our kids seasonal ski rentals as well as ski clothing. The female clothing manager is so helpful in helping you to get the perfect pant and jacket. Most recently we bought a new pair of boots and skis for my husband. The owner Steve went above and beyond to help ensure the boots fit perfectly. They also helped to modify a pair of boots I have been wearing for 2 seasons that have been squeezing the life out of my shins. This past weekend I skied in those boots and they were a dream. Really great experience here today at Ski Haus. Kevin was so patient with me as I tried on EVERY boot and super knowledgeable. Explained all of the different features and even ended up recommending a less expensive ski than I originally picked based on my experience level. My boots were custom fitted with the heat oven, which was a nice touch. Also, this may seem small, but I loved the check in process for help. This review is for the snowboard section. Been here a few times and it's never good. The prices are outrageous. Shop around. As far as the service it's pretty bad. I had some loser punk in his 20's today being a complete wiseass to me. I've been boarding since 1990, lived in CO and dropped in on some the best lines in the world. I also have close family in the industry who helps keep me in the know. It was my life for a log time. I know my stuff. This young adult making $11 an hour was a total d bag. Last time I was here I overheard them trying to convince some poor girl with a nice salamon board that she need to upgrade to one of their brands. This was total BS. She just went in for a wax. Stay clear of his place. They know just enough about the snowboard industry to be dangerous to a consumer. 2 stars because they do have a few different boards to Choose from. read more

Ski Haus clearly has no interest in repeat customer business. Or if they do, they don't understand that repeat business only comes with good customer service. I purchased a jacket from Ski Haus in Burlington, MA about a month ago. The very next morning, I noticed a small hole. I brought the jacket back to Ski Haus, and showed the manager. She mentioned she couldn't take it back. I asked if there was anything they could do. She mentioned she could call the vendor to see how much it will cost to repair the jacket. I provided my contact information and waited 5 days but she never got back to me. I then decided to call the vendor directly and spoke with a customer rep. She offered to repair the jacket for free. I asked if I could return the jacket since I noticed the hole less than 12 hours after I purchased it. The vendor took the jacket back, issued me a gift card, and apologized for the bad experience I had with Ski Haus. I strongly recommend purchasing winter gear from another retailer. Ski Haus is not customer oriented. I dropped my skis off for a tune up and I was told they would be ready in a couple of days. When I returned, I was told that they were "missed" and they were not ready. The ski manager did do them immediately, so I didn't have to leave and then come back. After I had dropped off my skis, I told an employee that I was looking for new skis. While I was looking, I noticed there were four employees standing in a circle talking. They didn't seem interested in helping me, so I just left. Lastly, the shop seemed more like yard sale than a well organized and outfitted ski shop. Think were all set with this place. Got a board from them a couple months ago, and bindings just recently. Came back tonight to get new bindings (which was 300+ dollars) with my husband and one of the staff members was crapping on all of my husband's gear telling him how his stuff s*cked and why the hell did he own any of that. We're not pros, And not in sales but we sure as heck wouldn't make anyone feel unwelcomed or feel like their stuff is crap. He was completely impatient with us and had an awful attitude. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. Ski Haus is the epitome of horrendous service. In fact, it's absolutely abysmal that they get away with the crap they do. When I service, I mean all aspects of it: price, value, customer experience, employees. I've heard warnings from friends who have had less-than-desirable experiences here, but decided to give this new location a chance anyways. Here are a few things that stand out about my experience. I brought a new pair of skis and bindings to Ski Haus in the hopes of getting it mounted in time for my upcoming skip trip (10 days away). Another reason I chose this place is because when I called, I asked how many days it would take to get skis mounted, and they told me they'd have it done by next Monday (11/30) which was 5 days away. When I came in to get it done and fill out the information, the employees were not friendly, welcoming, or even noticed that I was standing there for a good 5 minutes before someone actually acknowledged me. After they did, they proceded to ask me information about myself and my skiing ability to detemine the settings for the mount. Here's where it gets funny. The guy was CONVINCED that I couldn't ski. Guy: "So what class of skiier are you? 1, 2, or 3?" (1 is beginner casual style, 2 is moderate intermediate, and 3 is aggressive advanced) Me: "I'm a 3 please" Guy: "Really? A 3? Are you sure? That's the advanced expert setting." Me: "Yeah I'm sure. I've been skiing for awhile. I'm a 3" Guy: "Oh Yeah? Well how long have you been skiing for?" Me: "Umm... about 12 years." Guy: "Oh Yeah? What mountains do you ski at?" Me: "I've skiied all the mountains around here, NH, and Maine and I'm going to Utah in a few weeks. Can you seriously just set it to 3, I can ski." Guy: "Ok I guess" Now that that whole ordeal was over, I was given a pickup date of 12/3 (not 11/30 like the original caller told me, whatever I guess, still before my 12/4 trip). The guy told me to call in the day before or something to confirm this. I didn't call in once, not twice, but THRICE. I called 3 times saying if my skis were going to be ready that day, and each of those times I was told that yes it would absolutely be ready by then. Now it's 12/3 and I'm here to pick up my skis. I walk in and the same thing happens where I couldn't find someone to help me for about 10 minutes. Then I finally handed them the slip and told them I would like to pick up my skis. Guess what? THEY WERENT DONE!!! In fact, one of the salesman tried to play Mr. Nice Guy and told me that they'll do it right now while I wait. Im sorry, but that no way makes up for the fact that you basically lied to me three times saying my skis would be ready. When I finally received my skis, I walked out of that store for the second and final time. Congratulations Ski Haus, you have managed to lose a customer for life. On a side note, management if you read this, you have got to do something about it. The day that I went in to pick up the skis (12/3), one of your employees brought in a 12 pack of beer, left it on the checkout counter sitting there. When I went in, instead of helping the customers, the employees joked about getting their drank on later. This wasnt a subtle reference, they were shouting across the entire room. Seriously? IN THE MIDDLE OF BUSINESS HOURS WITH CUSTOMERS RIGHT THERE? Bottom line is, this place is run by unprofessional and untrustworthy scumbags. I highly urge you to stay away from Ski Haus at all costs. Customer experience: 1 of 5 Value: 3 of 5 Competence: 1 of 5 I purchased the groupon for Ski Haus, tough to pass up $20 for a tuning and unlimited waxing. Had I known about the awful experience to come, I would have gladly passed and spent double the amount elsewhere. I picked my board up on Friday, it took them a solid 20 minutes to find it. When I finally got it, someone had put a 6-inch NOTB sticker right on top. After confronting them about the sticker, they were non-apologetic and simply said something to the tune of "there was a guy sticking them on for promotional purposes." WTF gives you the right to put stickers on a paying customers board without their permission? Apparently they've done this to multiple people's boards, my friend got her board back the previous week with the same sticker on it. To their "credit", the manager did come out to remove the sticker and apologize. But this experience has made me decide to not give them anymore of my business. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that hires more professional staff. read more

The good news, they finally upped their inventory. The bad news, the customer service BLOWS. Maybe this is a one time experience but I would recommend taking your ski/snowboard tuneups to Salem. This place could give a sh*t about taking care of you. I called ahead to make sure mine were ready, showed up and waited 40 minutes for 3 kids who couldn't have been older than 15 to go on a where's Waldo search in the attic looking for my ski's. Finally the cashier came up to me, asked if I was ok and told her how long I had been there. She was going to look into a refund but was then told it wasn't their policy. She at least offered a future free tuneup which was admirable. All in all, just show your customers some courtesy, especially when they have to drop a good amount on a friggin' tuneup. read more

I have brought junior (but longish - 150cm) skis for Atomic binding recall. Not only was I charged $40 for what should be a free service (and excluded tune up), after 6 weeks of waiting the skis were not done. Mind you, I called ahead and was told to come and pick them up, drove to the store, spend 40 minutes waiting while staff was searching for them - and not done. This repeated twice and I had to cancel a weekend skiing trip because of this. I ended up pulling the skis and driving to Nashua for fix at Ken Jones. I also ordered a tune up on three pairs of skis - and was charged an arm and a leg, and not told about $10 off coupons which would have made the price more reasonable. I brought my 12 yr old daughter who is an expert skier (riva ridge on vail, glades on jay peak etc), and is very tall (and correspondingly heavy) for her age. She needs a fairly stiff advanced junior boot of 60-70 flex. Boot salesmen recommended a boot, when I asked him for flex he told me it is 60. Great, I purchase the the boots, at home look up the specs - it is a beginner boot with 40 flex for teens first day on the slope. Yet another trip to the store, to return the boot. I am never setting my foot there again - I'd rather make the trip to Ken (Proctor) Jones in Nashua. They fixed my recalled binding in 3 days for free, called me when it was done. Overall contrast could not be stronger. Finally, the boot fitter asked if I needed assistance and when I asked if there was anyone available to assist with new boots, he responded in a rude and condescending tone . I understand that there were other customers there, I'm in sales, but he could have handled the situation differently, recommending an alternative time, or even looked at me when he spoke. read more

New location same 'tude. I checked out their first location in Wilmington before they sold. I was impressed by their selection but was surprised by their overt lack of service. Fast forward a few years and they've opened a new location in Burlington, MA. Great location. It looks good inside however it seems the same douchee 'tude is present. It's unfortunate. I've worked in numerous ski shops and there are certain ones I love. That love begins with customer service. I'm not talking about a red carpet but a baseline of attentiveness goes a long way. For instance, if you're helping a customer, I get that you're busy. Simply acknowledge that I'm waiting by saying "Hi" and maybe when your colleague walks by ask if he can assist me. read more

Awesome ski / snowboard shop right outside of Boston! I went in looking for a new pair of stiff ski boots. I've got terrible feet and am a bootfitter's worst nightmare, but they instantly knew what I needed and worked with me extensively to get it right. After heating, punching, grinding, etc. their expertise has delivered and more. They offer everything from orthotics, to accelerated break-in, to custom liner molding, in-boot heaters, bootboard grinding, and shell modification. It took multiple visits, one where they stayed with me after closing the doors, which I've never had a store do for me. And all this with a one year boot fit guarantee, and comfortable boots means that much more fun skiing! The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and has first hand experience with the equipment in the shop. They have a large selection of clothing, with top brands and good prices. Their selection of skis/bindings/boots is very good and prices are more than competitive. They also have a great board shop as well, although I don't know much about snowboarding equipment. They carry tried and tested equipment, many of which the employees test themselves every year. Tuning services are top notch, and their turnaround time is very reasonable even when slammed during holiday/peak times; and long hours help as well. They are conveniently located off of I-95 and there is lots of parking. I will be back again and recommend this shop to anyone looking for a great ski/board shop in the Boston area. read more

Customer service is severely lacking. We tried this store last year for rentals and found them to be almost rude. Then returned this year to buy boots for my daughter - waited almost 30 mins before I asked the salesman who was wandering around if he would help us and he then told me there was a list! They act like they are doing you a favor by shopping there. We will take our business up to vt, alpine options where the customer service is amazing. read more

Terrible customer service. They only had 3 pairs of ski pants in my size, which were priced around $500 or more... Really? Forgetting the pants for the moment, I then looked into buying a new helmet and googles. Their pricing was fairly competitive and an employee mentioned that if both were bought together, I could get 20% off with a coupon that expired that day. When I did the math, it was a good deal. However, when I went to purchase the pair, not only was the helmet out of stock, but it took the employee 15 minutes to go hunt for the goggles. To make matters worse, I was then told the 20% discount didn't start until Dec 8th, so I'd have to wait and come back. Seriously? Forget it! I would rather spend a bit more money elsewhere, than have to deal with misinformed employees, managers who focus more on their dogs running around the store, and a overall lack of customer service. Terrible! I walked in to return a jacket and it took over 45 minutes. There was one person in front of me and three employees. Yet one one register opened. The other two just stood there chatting while one worker, who seem to be in training, is trying to figure out how the system worked. While this was going on, the line grew from two people to 6. The wait was about 20 minutes. Then my turn took forever because it was a cash purchase and there was no cash in register. Tracking down someone to OK cash transaction was like searching for loch Ness monster. Save yourself the trouble and don't go near this place. read more

Had never been there before. Bought a Groupon for tuning. Poor service. Long line to give them my board. Took them 10 days to tune. I showed up at 5 on the 10th day. It wasnt done. I had to wait. As I was waiting I browsed the selection. Mostly overpriced. Got my board back. They put a f-ing sticker on my board. What gives you the right!? Totally classless and unprofessional.
