Had never been there before. Bought a Groupon for tuning. Poor service. Long line to give them my board. Took them 10 days to tune. I showed up at 5 on the 10th day. It wasnt done. I had to wait. As I was waiting I browsed the selection. Mostly overpriced. Got my board back. They put a f-ing sticker on my board. What gives you the right!? Totally classless and unprofessional. Tune up was fine but I say avoid this place because of the service and the stickers!! read more

I don't question others' negative reviews of customer service here. They may have had a bad experience. Mine was the opposite. Came in with a ski boot that needed a repair part. Steve and Alex took great care of me, pulled the needed part from their inventory and got me fixed up for ten bucks. They were happy, respectful and resourceful. I'm sorry the people working at this store are bothered by customers. Management should perhaps screen and supervise their staff a little. I walked in on 2/2 in the afternoon to look for a jacket and goggles for my son. The youngsters at the register were to busy socializing to even acknowledge that I had entered the store. I crossed two of them as I was looking around and they just walked by. Did not even acknowledge my nod. I ended up checking out the goggles right at the register and again, not one perhaps even looked at me or offered some help. Perhaps I had my invisible shield on that day. Who knows. read more

Note, this is for NOTB (the tune-up shop located within Ski Haus). I'm pretty surprised to see so many bad reviews for this place. I dropped two snowboards off last weekend and had a quick conversation with the guys at the desk. They seemed to be pretty knowledgable and didn't try to up sell me on anything. Went to pick up my boards today, and they were behind the counter waiting for me (I called about 20 minutes beforehand so they could get them from the back, which is what they said to do when I dropped them off). I haven't ridden on them yet, but they seemed to do a good job. I knocked one star because they were pretty pricey ($50/board for a hand sharpen and wax), but overall I was happy. read more

I bought a pair of boots and generally liked the experience. They throw in upgraded foot beds which other stores usually charge extra for. However be very careful who helps you. Some sales staff work there to get free/discounted lift tickets and discounted equipment. The kid who waited on me had 8 weeks of experience and was obviously figuring things out as he went. Fortunately, I'm easy to fit but if you have challenging feet or are new to the sport, ask for one of their experienced, salaried, employees. You don't want a part-timer learning on you. read more

I have to say I am VERY surprised by all of these bad reviews. I went to Ski Haus this Sunday to look for new boots. I wasn't really thinking of purchasing, but I wanted to get a look at what was out there. This place was amazing. Not only was I helped right away, but I was asked all the right questions, like what level of skier I am, where I ski, what skis I have, and what type of fit I like in a boot. The first two pairs of boots I tried on were both right in line with what I was looking for. They fit great, and here's the unbelievable part . . . they were both last year's models! Not because they didn't have this year's, but because the salesman knew I needed an advanced boot and thought I might want to save some money!! While I was there, I saw the same salesman outfit a family of six, help out some of his co-workers and still manage to fit me for boots without leaving me stranded. I saw them sell and entire ski, binding and boot set-up for a little kid for $30! I will be purchasing all of my ski boots from Ski Haus from now on. read more

*This is review is for the Burlington, MA store.* Since all of the reviews are pretty old, I thought Ski Haus deserved a current rating and review. When we walked in here, we were immediately greeted by the front desk staff. Walking back to the ski drop off area, we were again acknowledged and assisted by every employee we encountered. The person who finally helped us was knowledgeable and quick. Skis were ready in three days, and they were very clear about the process. We were hesitant to come in because of the other reviews, but went anyway since the reviews are outdated. We both agreed that Ski Haus deserves well above a 2-star rating. read more

Brought in new pair of skis with bindings already mounted and sized to boot - just needed them calibrated to the weight/ability of the skier - we were charged $60 for them to look up the appropriate setting and make a few twists - I was in disbelief, so I asked at my ski area what they would charge and they said NOTHING since it was so simple. Ski Haus traded $60 for what was once a loyal customer. I will never shop there again - a complete rip off. read more

We have been going to the Ski Haus for several years now with the junior program and have enjoyed the line of products, prices and the expertise of the sales staff. The staff appears to be very personable as well and anticipate your concerns. Today was no exception - a salesperson Kevin was very personable and went over foot measurements for boot fitting. We discussed briefly the line of boots on the wall but on further examination told us that with the right socks the existing boots really could last. He explained the tight fitting concepts -elaborated how the boot should feel. This helped us with our decision that we need a small expansion in the future if there was discomfort but we do not need new boots this year. To us, that was a present since we shopped at other stores where they charge you to fit the boot before any purchase! The salesperson did not know us either. Went in to get ski rental for my son. As i opened the door, 2 big dogs ran up to us. I'm sure they are friendly but my 3 year old is TERRIFIED of dogs. They heard he was screaming and jumping on me to get away from the dog yet, they still didn't bother to take them somewhere while we were there. The dogs kept coming back to us. Can't say enough about the great service and gear we have gotten at Ski Haus. Family of four with 3 skiers and 1 rider. Snowboarding--We have been going to NOTB for snowboarding gear for 8 years. Travis is patient and always shares his wealth of knowledge to steer us to the appropriate gear. He was able to help out multiple customers without anyone feeling rushed or neglected. They have a wonderful relaxed atmosphere in that room. Our now 12 year old son is having trouble with his boot fit and having pain when he rode. Dan was pretty much a saint!! He spent over 3 hours with us. Adjusting the fit, tweaking the bindings and finding the right configuration of insoles. He had more patience than anyone I've ever seen. My son was able to ride 2 full days without any pain! Dan saved the season for us! Skiing---Again, amazing customer service. Years ago my kids were afraid of dogs and we saw the sign on the door. I mentioned it when we arrived and never saw a dog while we were there. Fitting ski boots is not easy and the staff at Ski Haus is patient and knowledgeable. They took tons of time with my teen daughter and worked with her until they found a comfortable solution. I was coming back from an ACL repair and was considering the Nee Bindings. They took the time to explain pros and cons and get me set up. I had trouble with a binding while I was at a mountain. I called the shop and Steve and Josh talked me through what needed to be done to figure out the issue. Née binds need a specially trained tech and they helped me locate one near my location in Canada! It was a glitch with one binding and no fault to Ski Haus. When I returned home they had already contacted the company and then swapped out the binding and added a free tune. Can't ask for anything more than that for customer service. I saw reviews complaining about pricing. Skiing is expensive. Ski Haus has top notch gear at competitive prices. You can buy cheap gear for less but for my family I'll stick with amazing service and great gear! read more

I love the tent sales in the summer and on mountain demo days in the winter. I ask questions and recieave expert advice. They have never steered me wrong. read more

Went to Ski Haus saturday 3/18. I purchased two pair of ski goggles for my daughter and son and one ski jacket for my son. My wife did not like how the jacket suits my son outfit and I tried to return the jacket Monday afternoon. A very rude man told me that it has been a clearance sale and I can not return it. I was not told this is a clearance sale Saturday and I explained that to that man (store manager I guess). He said there is nothing he could do (he did offer store credit, which I do not need). He said it was written on the bottom of the receipt. Well I did not read the bottom of the receipt when I purchased it. Even if I had read it, what is changing, the sale is done and no going back, no returns. I guess he does not want my business. Very poor customer service. Be careful if you decide to shop there. read more

Drove all the way there only to have them spend 30 mins trying to find the skis, only to learn they weren't actually ready. Watched a couple other people have similar issues as we were waiting. They gave me back the wrong skis, and when I wanted mine back, they said that's what I gave them!! I brought a pair of AC 30's in for tune, got back AC 3s. So, needless to say, another got an upgrade in their ski's. I have to take some blame, I didn't read my receipt after dropping my ski's. I had original receipt for my AC 30s, didn't matter. I got the impression they felt I tried to scam them, at my age...so I have AC 3s, and I'm now shopping for a new set, but not at Ski Haus, and I will never return for purchase or service. I've been going to Ski Haus since they had their first location in Wilmington. I recently went this winter to get fitted for a new pair of ski boots. Steve was amazing. He was patient and worked with me to make sure that my fit was perfect for my ski ability. The store was busy with plenty of people to help but he didn't rush me through the process and had plenty of helpful information. Tried out the boots for my first ski last weekend and am happy with the fit and comfort. Also went back to get a pair of ski goggles and was helped by 2 young guys who were super knowledgeable about the lenses and what will work best for an every day goggle and fit. These reviews don't do this business justice. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. The selection of gear is expansive and the prices are comparable to any snow sport retailer. I have bought all my gear here and will never go anywhere else. I bought boots at the beginning of the season that didn't fit me correctly. I took them back to Ski Haus and the staff took the time to fit me properly, with no extra charge. Love this place. read more

I happened across the store through the Groupon promotion they ran about a month ago. I had a pair of ex-demo skis that needed some TLC, so I figured I would give them a shot. I brought the skis in to get the premium tune, as well as get the binding adjusted to my boots. The store was very busy, so I wasn't surprised when I was told that the turnaround time would be close to 2 weeks. The skis were supposed to be done on December 7th, and my girlfriend went and picked them up for me on December 10th. I took a look at them that night and was sorely disappointed. The edges had been cleaned up a little bit, but there was still patches of rust and burrs. The bases had not even been waxed, nor the minor cuts filled. I brought them back on Sunday and the kid manning the counter confirmed that it did not appear that they had been fully tuned. His guess was someone ran them through a machine and then they got put in the finished area. I told him I needed them this week for skiing, and that the only day I could get there (I live in Boston) was Monday. He confirmed that would be fine, he would get someone on the task first thing on Monday morning. I came back to the store on Monday evening around 7:30. They gave me my skis back, and lo and behold, still nothing had been done to them. They rushed the skis back upstairs and 15 minutes later, they were "done". What I saw was a sub-par wax job, and no improvement on the edges. I was pretty fed up at this point, so I took the skis and left. I was expecting the following (per the menu of services): Premium Tune Minor Base Repair Stone Grind Hand Edge and Bevel to manufacturers specifications Hand Edge Polish Hand Wax with Iron There is no way anything was done by hand. The minor base repair wasn't even completed. Needless to say, I have ZERO confidence that my binding adjustment was done competently and will probably have to pay another shop $40 more to make sure I am safe when I use these skis. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. Between the cost of the Groupon, the binding adjustment, and the gas required to drive up there pointlessly, I probably spent $80, and now I need to get it all done again. read more

I was scared to walk into the store after seeing all the 1 or 2-star reviews but I decided to check it out anyway since they are one of the few stores in town that carry what I need. I was very pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff. The person who served me (sorry, forgot to get the name) was knowledgeable and patient in explaining the products to me and let me try on other things that I had told them I wasn't planning on buying. The other staff members were nice with my questions as well. The -1 star was for not having the size I want but I was pretty late in the season to be buying anyway. read more

They've always had experts to advise and sell but the customer service could be lacking. I'm thrlled with the improvements to the staff and atmosphere now. I have had very good experience at this Ski Haus location. I've bought ski boots, poles, clothing, and more. I spent a dedicated hour with their boot expert tweaking the fit on my Dalbellos. This is my go-to service shop for skis. I consistently get faster turnaround than promised and have never missed a ski day as the result of slow service. Pricewise they are good -- I look for what's on sale. If I need something they don't have I'll go online, but I'm happy to support a local shop rather than always choose on price. Online shops aren't going to recommend their favorite trails at local resorts! read more

As a female, i would suggest doing your own research before going in because most of the staff is male and do not demo women's equipment. I don't understand all the hate. Went there to get my skis tuned after they'd been sitting in a basement for 4 years and they did a great job getting all the rust off. They were ready 3 days later and I went just before school vacation week. The service person was friendly and helped me right when I walked in. Also, other reviewers have said they didn't like the sticker on their board/skis but they took it off before giving my skis back to me without me asking. read more

The worst customer dis-service experience ever. Over charged me $112. when I returned the manager argued with me and said it was my fault for not bringing it up at time of sale. When I returned to pick up my new skis and simple tune and edge they allowed me to leave thinking they actually performed the work I paid for. I had to bring the skis back and prove with a slip that I had paid to have them edged. Owner Steve and manager Paul are clueless. I will never buy from them again. read more

This review is long over due. Anytime I walk into NOTB, I am greeted by a friendly staff and always find amazing help. This review specifically is for my experience this season. I walked in unannounced mid week, snowboard in hand, looking for a fix to a bad bad tune. I had tried to give a local shop a chance in tuning my board, and was burned. The board came back with tons of cheap wax on it, including the edges, and a gash on the top. I was looking to get NOTB to do a proper tune to fix the mess the other shop had made. Mark was amazing! He did the job right there as I waited. He removed the crud wax the other shop left layer on, and did a hand wax. The board looked as good as the day I bought it. Also I should mention that as I waited, another customer came in with his board for a tune up, hoping to get it for the weekend, and willing to pay for rush service. They said they could have it ready for him the end of the day, no extra charge. I will continue to go to this great shop for all my riding needs. I also bought my board there a few years ago. This was my first board, and the staff was very helpful and patient in helping me choose the right one. I have been very happy with it. read more
