At this point, my shoes were hurting my performance more than if I were to run barefoot, so it was high time I got some new running shoes. Went in to the store and was immediately assisted by an amiable employee who walked me through a gait test and brought up three pairs of shoes for me to try. Used their test socks (yes, they have test socks!) that match the ones they sell in the store so you can try them on with your shoes. Got useful feedback and recommendations for other brands of shoes that would be a good fit if I wanted to run longer distances. All in all, I left the store with some new socks (Balega silver), a foot roller (Nano X), and a brand new pair of shoes (ASIC Gel-DS Trainer 24) for under $200. Money well spent, and will definitely go back when these shoes are dead!

Leaving everyone else just standing there waiting. No one offered any help until they were done with their current customer. Waited 30+ minutes just to get called, ask for my size in the style i wanted, and then checked out. People revisit this style of service. Very ineffective for customers like myself who know what we want and want to be in and out.

Around the time my husband contracted Mr Hoop to install a hoop in our driveway, I stumbled upon a post where a few local people had posted some pretty negative and damaging reviews. Then I found this Yelp page. We reached out to Mr Hoop to discuss the negative reviews and he gave us an explanation and a reassurance. Mr Hoop came to scout the site, on time. He started the project on time (with a legitimate rain delay). A few days later, he came and installed the hoop. All in, the process took ten days. As far as the negative reviews about Mr Hoop go, in my opinion, there are always two sides to every story. We took the approach of being up front with our concerns, kept communication open, and achieved a positive result.

I was looking for an item that the app had said was in stock at this location. A worker assisted us in searching for the size so was looking for. We go out of our way to come to Ice House, as we are based in Woburn and on Cape Cod. We have been coming to Ice House for years. Love the family and the personal service, great skate fitting, expert sharpening based on test level and jumps, can consign your skates, everything about what works for you, no matter how long it takes. He helps you avoid the Amazon-too-many-choices problem by stocking ~ 2 choices for shoes and often 1 choice for other products (this actually can be helpful - no need to weed through hundreds of fake reviews). He gives you what you need and you're done. Here's a typical experience (after multiple visits): me walking in smiling and chatty. I ask for XYZ. He - not smiling and not chatty - gets me XYZ with minimal fuss and fanfare. I check out. That's it. Prices aren't too bad and it's nice to go someplace local, where he has what you need and you walk out with what you need and sized correctly. If that sounds good to you, and you don't require long, pleasant conversation, go here.
