Love love love this place. These guys know how to fit skates. They don't care how long it takes - they just want to get the right pair of skates on your child. They will go out of their way to find a used pair of boots, even swapping out blades if necessary. They are willing to talk to your coach on the phone in the middle of a fitting - to make sure you have the right boots and blades on your kid. If you are having trouble with the fit, just go back and they adjust them for you. We go here monthly to have the blades sharpened. I wouldn't trust anyone else to sharpen. read more

Greg, who has helped me every time I have been to the Ice House, is super helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and kind, and always goes above and beyond. I bought my first pair of skates second hand and they have been awesome! And the price was fantastic too. Greg found me exactly what I was needing and then he taught me how to put on skates correctly and how to take care of them. He also fitted them beautifully. I bring them here to get sharpened as well, because my coach says that he is the best and knows what he is doing. MY wife and i took our 10 year old grand daughter to this place the Ice House Sports in Wellesley she is a figure skater she is very good and has a figure skating coach i'm thinking why are we driving one hour to get her skates sharpened by these people, many skaters go there figure skaters, college hockey players, etc, i to also play ice hockey twice a week so since i was there and my hockey bag was in my truck i will have my hockey skates sharpened also so now i do understand why these skaters go there they did a pretty good job and very knowledgeable. read more

I went here to get my figure skates fitted (that were bought elsewhere). I set up an appt and they adjusted my skates for me quickly and accurately. I was getting blisters from my ankle bone hitting the skates and now they are so much better! The guy (sadly I don't know his name) was super nice, knowledgeable and very fast. Also I'm so touched that he did not charge me for the service, even though I bought the skates elsewhere! I will definitely be back for skates for my kids, especially now knowing that if you buy skates from them all adjustments are included. read more

Buying ice skates has never been so fun. After 4 days of having my ear chewed out by my 2.5 year old daughter, I finally decided I wouldn't tease her anymore and just get her some ice skates so that we could go skating. It was a long afternoon, but we couldn't be happier. We first drove down to Dick's sporting goods in Natick. Nothing in toddler size in the ice hockey section... Go to the shoe's section? "Why don't you try upstairs in figure skating?" Ok...sure. After 10 minutes of wandering around, we found an employee. We get to the figure skating section ... and ... nothing in her size. Great... Thanks to Yelp I found Matt and Glenn at Ice House Sports. I can't tell you how welcome we felt while we were inside. They did an excellent job of fitting my daughter and answering any questions. We didn't feel forced to buy anything and they even suggested a used pair as this would be her first. Apparently they'll also buy them back at a very reasonable price when she grows out. I wasn't going to let her have all the fun herself, so I bought a pair too. Oh, their dog is awesome too. I can't recommend these two gentleman and their shop enough. Super awesome guys, and a extremely friendly. Prices are very affordable, and you just can't go wrong. read more

Wonderful service! I went in today looking for a new pair of skates for my 2 different sized feet. Matt (I think)was amazingly patient, listened to my feedback and made multiple adjustments. It took 2+ hours but I never felt hurried. He was incredibly patient and I walked out with a pair of new skates that fit both my difficult to fit feet. Brought my grandson to the Ice House to trade in his current skates for a larger size. First thing they did was to make sure that his current skates were to small. Turns out the inner sole of one skate was wrinkled causing them to feel tight. They straighten the inner sole and and enlarged the area by the pinky toes free of charge. My grandson says the skates feel great and he's skating much better. Found it so refreshing they never tried to sell us new skates and were extremely helpful. read more

I am from Western, MA. I am a figure skater who travels a lot to NY and CT for coaching and ice time. I also travel out to Wellesley to get my skates sharpened, to buy skates and other products. Throughout spending my time in Ice House and traveling to different rinks I can say there are many others who travel far and wide for these guys. I know quite a few people in the Albany, NY area who travel 3-4 hours one way because they trust Ice House so much. The prices are unbeatable, the services you get with your products you will never find anywhere else, and if you ever have a problem (which is rare), or have a problem from a different skate shop they are more then willing to help. They just renovated their store and it looks fantastic!! Everyone who works here knows what they are doing and can help you out if you have been skating for years or just starting out.
