Nobody in the store when I went in looking for boots. The boot area has about 4 different kinds, zero on display, hardly anything in a normal men's size (9 to 10.5), and to top it off, the boots are in an aisle next to the warehouse against a back wall with staff constantly moving merchandise in and out, asking you to move. It's obvious they are mainly an online retailer with a "Service Merchandise" style retail environment as a showroom. Staff was almost non-existent. I recently had possibly the most horrible experience ever well just trying to buy a simple pair of cleats. The shoe department is completely ridiculous. The kiosk is there to enter your size and choose your shoes. I understand that. But I simply asked a worker to measure my daughter's foot, which should've been a simple thing, but he could not do that correctly . The young men working there have zero training in customer service. My husband peeked around back and they were sitting in the back room playing on their phone. They were bringing out random shoes that were not even the right sizes. And then they would disappear for 20 minutes at a time no exaggeration. My daughter was almost late For her game! After one hour, I spoke to one of them and asked them what was even going on? My husband offered to go in the back and help them. Try to find the correct sizes. No motivation, no customer service. I cannot even begin to describe the level of laziness Involved here with the employees in the shoe department at the store. i was shopping with my grand-daughter for Cheer shoes at the Pheasant Lane Mall, Nashua, NH. Cheer Shoes need to be white, light and fit well in order to perform backflips, flips and tumbling. Safety is most important. The salesman was courteous but the Manager was a different story. So rude! I turned over the shoes and noticed the shoes had gum, red marks and dirt on the bottom. The Manager came over and said he could take off a few dollars if we bought the shoes. really? I believe the shoes were at least $80.00 -$100.00 dollars. I said forget it and was disgusted. This is a great store if you need anything in the athletic department. They have huge sections for all the major sports and even have enormous sections for sports like fishing, boxing, camping, and rollerblading. Even if you don't play sports, they have some awesome sections for casual wear, so you can get great sweatpants and hoodies. They have a ton of nfl, nhl, and mlb clothing as well. The store is a bit pricey, but that's normal for most athletic-type clothing. They have amazing sales though. The clearance section is always huge and they have great prices so you can get brands like Under Armor and Nike for half the price. The store is also very clean and well organized. Store has a great selection and the staff has been nothing but excellent. I live really close so I happen to go in there a lot which is a good but also a bad thing. I've had clubs regripped, purchased new clubs direct and through them to be shipped. The store manager Derek is great and always available to help and go above and beyond to find what you're looking for and even search the back if it's not on the floor. I can't recommend them enough. This place is a complete mess. Came in to look at kayaks and had to step over everything. No one was around or even interested to help us. The kayacks were about to Fall on the floors. Trash (labels, wrappers, rope) all over the place. Does anyone do anything here? I'm very disappointed as we live in Medford and this is convenient to get to. Customer service like this doesn't exist anymore. All the guys who work at this store are super helpful. I was waiting to place a kiosk order and Brandon went out of his way to help me and take me to another kiosk. He suggested items to me, helped me place my order and use my rewards, and really went above and beyond to give me the best customer service experience. When I told him I had a mid experience at the Boston store, he listened and was so helpful. Nowadays, so many stores are staffed with young teens who don't care that much or know that much, but this store - and while Brandon is exceptional - all the guys here give great customer service), they greet you at the door. They ask if you need help. They walk you over to where items are. Customer service like Brandon and the gang at Dicks Medford is why this DSG will last when other stores are long gone. Today's Celtics meet and greet was badly organized and many people including my family were frustrated by misleading information that was provided by Dicks staff while the majority of people stood in the rain for an addition 3 hrs. The reason and we understood that if you were not 1 of the 100 to receive a bracelet there would be a secondary line that will be formed that the chances were pretty good to have a chance to meet with the Celtics. Many people waited an additional 3 hrs a lot of us 6hrs from first arrival into the secondary line. First not only did the Celtics arrive LATE 12:15 instead of 12 and leave a few minutes after 1pm. But the secondary line was brought in , just to be turned away. That made everyone furious that they did not take even 1 person from that secondary line but turned all the people away. You as a staff should have told all the people well ahead of time that there was no chance in that secondary line instead of making them wait in the rain...and mind there were a lot of little kids in that line. So really disappointing and I am sure I won't be the first to indicate this. Oddly enough Dicks staff had indicated to several us to voice a complaint..and this is defiantly reason to. Plus by the way it did not say anything is your disclaimer that Basketballs would be signed in the event just a Dicks card..which even caused more of a delay. This is a shout out to an employee named Jordan. I came in around Christmas time looking for kayaks for my parents. I had maybe a week before the holiday and I was scrambling (I was hoping to find something via Facebook Marketplace, but majority of the deals fell through.) He took the time to chat with me to find out what I was looking for, answered my many questions as to if I could buy something online and have it shipped to the store, and he hopped on the phones with multiple stores asking for their inventory on a certain brand. He eventually found me exactly what I was looking for at the Danvers location and asked they put two on hold for me as I was driving up to pay for them as soon as I left that store. Most employees would have probably looked in the back and said we have none and went on their merry way - especially during the hectic holidays, but Jordan really took the time to help me out and helped make the best Christmas gift I ever could give my parents! Really not impressed with the service I received today. I work in retail and usually when someone wants to see how much a product costs because there's no tag I have NO problem at all helping them, not only do I want to make the sale but I want my customer to go home happy with their purchase. I found a pair of leggings in the clearance section and fell in love with them! I was SO excited. Unfortunately no tag so I kindly asked the cashier Gabby if she could help me figure out how much it is. Not only did she give me an attitude about it but she told me she couldn't and once I told her we can look up the item using the material number on the leggings she was quick to say "oh yea sure" and called someone to the cash wrap to help her. Its difficult to purchase running sneakers at dicks.I have only been to two dicks . The one at the liberty tree mall and the one at meadowglenn mall. At least the one in danvers has sneakers out on the showroom floor but if your size isnt on the floor someone has to go out back to get a pair.This can take several minutes for each pair you want to try on.I tried on two different occasions to buy there but no one was in that department which is in the back of the store then i had to walk to the front of the store and get some one. then they had to find someone to go out and find the pair i was interest in and they didnt have that one.i understand that but then to for them to keep going out back each time is to time consuming.Today i went to the dicks at the meadow glen mall in medford near to my work.That store doesnt have any of the inventory of running sneakers on the show roomfloor.The web site said that store had the pair that i wanted but they didnt have it.Had the inventory been on the showroom floor i would have tried some on others and would have bought a pair as i need them for a race on thursday.I like the store and it has a huge inventory but its not consumer friendly to purchase sneakers. Dick's is my new favorite "go to" sporting good store. So happy they are in Meadow Glen Mall. They have a huge selection of women's yoga and athletic wear - fashionable and practical! The also had a nice selection of teen athletic swimwear and men's swim trunks. The guy at the check out was super personable and happy to be there. The clerk at the checkout next to us was equally happy to be there and very cordial with his customers. I walked out with a inventory monitor tag that set off the alarm and the service clerk quickly found the tag, apologized and I was on my way. And, oh yeah, the fact that Dick's doesn't want to be part of any mass shootings at schools and has therefor stopped selling AR-15s was what sent me over the top as their new top customer. read more

(In reference to this store and the Saugus store) this is a very good sporting good store except for one thing archery they seem to keep in stock the bare minimum of adult bows (compound only unfortunately) and crossbows I've been hit and miss with employee archery knowledge basically if it's not the guy behind the gun counter you won't get the best help (in my experience) they only carry compound bow equipment (I prefer recurve so I'm out of luck) but they don't even have bow string and if I had a compound bow I'd have to go to danvers to get it strung (according to the employees) so for most great but there the only archery supplier in the area so not so much for me read more
