Livin The Phoenix Arizona you wouldn't think that you wouldn't have a store quite like this one it is really amazing for the desert. I am a beginner plus and intermediate skier maybe LOL just moving from Oklahoma a year and a half ago and being able to swim in the morning and ski in the afternoon!!So I've been renting boots about every other week and I'm not fit just quite right and I thought I would go try to maybe buy me a set of boots that felt better than the ones that I just slipped on my feet that were n somebody else's The day before. Tom is a manager there at this location and he spent well over an hour letting me try on three different booths and making sure that I was happy with the choice that I made. I was in the service business 30 years and know the difference between good service and bad service and someone who gives a damn and someone who doesn't. When so many don't give exceptional service. I really like the staff here as they have always been helpful and educating. Over the years I have purchased thousands of dollars of gear (I REFUSE TO RENT) for myself and my kids that are constantly growing out of equipment. My issue is that they penalize you for not buying something from them when you need it serviced. "Buy our bindings for MORE money than you can get them for on the web, plus pay taxes and we will install them on your skis for $50, if you pay less online, we will charge you $80 for THE EXACT SAME SERVICE." Penalizing someone for tapping into the internet to purchase a product that your company doesnt even carry is kinda a low blow. As It turns out... Action Ride shop in Mesa doesn't care where you buy the equipment, their service pricing is the same. read more

I visited Ski Pro for the first time about a month ago and can't believe I have never shopped there before. In planning a couple of ski trips I needed new apparel for the family and needed to rent ski equipment as well. Regarding the ski apparel some of it was priced at current MSRP prices, however I was able to find multiple pieces priced similar to online prices which is amazing for a local chain business so I purchased almost everything I needed there. Overall could not have been happier with the selections. Now on to the ski rental process which as absolutely above my expectations. I took the entire family there and met Justin at the rental desk and he took care of everything from the measurements to helping us select the best items for each family member. Throughout the entire process he was extremely patient (I have a 5 & 9 year old). We ended up going with a seasonal rental that has almost paid for itself already and with one more trip to Flagstaff it will completely be a value add for us. Honestly working with him could not have been better and as long as he is working at Ski Pro they will have me as a return customer. Overall this an amazing small chain that I will continue to support. read more

Ski Pro is one of those places that I've driven by hundreds of times and every time I do, I see sale signs and think to myself..."I need to check it out." So I finally can say that I stopped for a visit instead of driving by and I'm pleased I did! Ski Pro has pretty much anything you can think of when it comes to skiing gear. Whether it's equipment or clothes you need, Ski Pro has it here. They have everything including the latest, greatest and cutest stuff. I think I mentally spent $1,000 on ski gear during my visit. They have a huge selection of adorable Spyder gear including hats, pants, jackets, etc. They also have a decent amount of North Face too. Ski Pro has some of the best sales I've seen and even in the height of ski season, they still offer sales. Not only was so much gear on sale, but when I visited they also took an extra 10% at the cash register. Not bad! I didn't rent any gear so I can't write a review on the rental process, but when it comes to purchasing gear to look the part, Ski Pro has it mastered! read more

Todd, Brody, and Haylee have all been fantastic and went out of there way to help me find my first and second pair of snowboarding boots here. They take their time, help you try on multiple styles until they find you something that's a great fit. Somehow I lucked out and found a place to live that's walking distance from just about everything that could possibly matter to me, and that includes what is probably the premier ski and ride shop in the desert. Ski Pro is stocked better than the ski shop I frequent in Colorado, and unlike the Colo stores, Ski Pro wants to move stuff: Sales, sales and more sales. I just picked up a ski suit for my kid that was marked down from $175 to $59. It's still the middle of the season, folks. They also appear to have a great selection of skis and boards, but that's a once in a blue moon type of purchase for me. Suffice it to say that they are stocked up with just about everything I could imagine needing for my wintertime hobby. And they are basically in the backyard of the Biltmore. As far as the help goes, it's about average for this sort of business: No more subservient or attentive than absolutely necessary. These guys and girls are from a background of leisure and are working in a leisure business. Most probably come from the sort of middle-class families who can afford to ski. Asking them to be smiley and super-attentive is contrary to the spirit of these places--it's like expecting surfers to wear suits and ties. At least they didn't seem stoned, paranoid and semi-hostile-- like most ski shop employees in Colorado. So check it out, and hang loose about the service, dude . . . Way . . . read more

I usually don't write reviews but with Ski Pro Ifelt like I absolutely had to. Not only did they have absolutely amazing staff, they also did everything in a timely manor. I went in to buy a new pair of boots, poles, and get bindings attached and they did an awesome job. I got my boots molded and went up to snowbowl to try them out and they just didn't fit quite right so I called down to ski pro to see if there was anything to do about it and they said to drop them off when I got the chance and they would make corrections. I was skiing the next day as well so needed them done asap and they were done within the hour. They also gave me a whole bunch of discounts because I was buying essentially a full new set of gear. Overall, I had a great experience with Ski Pro they really do their best to keep their customers satisfied. read more

All of their departments are fine except RENTALS. Long lines, poor to fair customer service, very little knowledge of proper sizing, and really disorganized. *Incident 1: I'm an adult and they rented me Jr skis. One ski ended up broken and the guy who fitted me said he didn't know he was supposed to size me off of height and weight. (Train your staff!) *Incident 2: I rented skis and poles (no boots since I have my own) for a quick trip to Snowbowl. I get on the mountain and realize SP rented me two DIFFERENT size poles AND set my skis for a pair of boots AT LEAST THREE SIZES BIGGER. So, I had to go to the repair shop at Snowbowl and have them reset my skis and stand in the forever long rental shop for a pair of poles. It was so frustrating!! **In both incidents my rental $ was refunded by SP, but I just want them to do it right** read more

I was able to meet Chris Ricky who was beyond helpful. Knew everything, and then some about what I needed, overall extremely informative. Came here for some last minute shopping of some snowboarding boots. They didn't have a good selection of boots, which was disappointing but since I didn't have time to shop I had to settle for some Burton ones. The employee was very helpful though with fitting me into the right boots and offered me tips on how to break them in before my snowboarding trip. Original Issue: A boot sold as new was missing a part from the liner and was broken; less than stellar phone support by nice employee who lacked some withitness. Highlight: in store experience. My wife was in PHX today for work, stopped by the Camelback store. The gents working the snowboard area were most helpful. I also received a response to my Yelp review from Ski Pro. Both provided more options than what were conveyed when I called the day before. Ski Pro showed they actually cared about my experience. Resolution: store credit, my preferred option given the circumstance. This was a weird situation. I dig this place and let me tell you why... They have awesome selection of skis, clothing and everything between. The manager does a good job of steering you towards the more expensive jackets, so keep that in mind. The staff is generally pretty good here and helpful. They have a better selection of Spyder gear than any other place I know of outside of CO. Rental gear is sucks... maybe that is part of the plan...give you crap to ski with so you want to buy your own good stuff! One of the best things is that you can buy your lift ticket for Snowbowl and a host of other mountains right in the store! Hey if it's the same price as on the mountain and saves you time not having to wait in a lift ticket line...count me in! So get your rental gear here and your lift ticket and save the time and hassle on Snowbowl. Lookin forward to a great 2011 ski season! read more

A great experience learning about and buying gear with the crew at Ski Pro in Phoenix. I am an intermediate skier, 34 years old, and last season I really got into the sport. I have always rented gear, so didn't know much about all the details that go into buying appropriate ski gear outside of knowing I needed skis, boots, poles, and bindings in order to get down the mountain. This year I wanted to get into something better than rentals and something that would help me take the next steps into becoming more comfortable on those double black diamonds. Google provides a ton of information, so much that it was difficult for me to make sense of it all to put together good decisions on an entire gear package. Walking in to Ski Pro Phoenix was all I had to do. First trip, Pete broke it all down for me. His first question was "tell me about your most recent skiing experience." With that info he was able to give me all the details about what I should look for in ski length, width, rocker, style, and composition, what I should consider around boot stiffness, what poles would work best for my height, and which bindings would bring it all together. I left the first day with a bunch of information to process and google. Second trip, Chris picked up right were Pete left off. Sized me for boots, and then broke it down. Spent the time trying on as many boots as it took to find the right pair, what I should consider for comfort, sizing, stiffness, he even broke down what would work best based on how my foot was shaped. Took as much time as it needed to get me in the right pair, which we found. They were last years version too, so I got a great deal on 'em! Then I asked about skis again, he made some really consistent suggestions from my first trip which was great. It really helped to understand the nuances because everyone knew their stuff back to front. Third trip, the whole crew was there and they remembered me, once again, picked up right where we left off and they helped me pick out bindings and set up my skis to get drilled, we found the poles to match, and it all came together! Never any pressure, just tons of information, patience, and attention to detail around what would work best for what I am trying to do on the slopes. Great experience for someone that had a lot to learn about gear! Now I have the full package and am eagerly awaiting that snow to start falling so I can get out there and take my next steps in experince and skill! I have been to the Camelback location - This place has a serious selection and great prices!! I usually visit pre-season ( NOW!) or post-season for the best deals on pants, hats and gloves - some of the necessities that I am not too picky about. I visit here to get my daughter's snowboard pants (every year!!) She's growing like a weed so our friends are getting great hand-me-downs in the meantime!! read more

Most recently I bought a ski jacket and took advantage of their summer sale. I plan to go back and buy new boots and skis here. I talked to Pete (manager) for at least 15 minutes about ski gear. I thought it would be cheaper, easier and quicker to rent my skis in Phoenix vs Sunrise. The guy in the rental shop was lacking in basic customer service etiquette when I called to check on pricing. Their rental process needs help. I waited in line for over 30 minutes to rent the skis. There were only 4 people in front of me. When I went to return the skis I gave up on waiting after 20 minutes to return the skis and went back the next day. There should be someone available to take the returns, it's a two-minute process to check the skis in. There was nothing easier or quicker about the experience. I've been back a few times since, and I think I just caught the business on a bad day, or perhaps an uninformed employee. This is a good business with dedicated employees and reasonable prices. They advocate for their customers when it comes to matching budgets with aspirations, and they keep enough staff that I didn't find myself waiting for service. The previous issue that I had was that neither myself nor the employees understood how the newer model of Camelbak reservoir watertight seals worked. That is a problem, they should know the products they sell inside-out, but I checked with Camelbak and they have recently published a video explaining how their product works since the confusion was widespread. read more

Pete provided excellent service when I bought my ski boots there just recently, the Manager, Chris H, helped me out with my Ski pant issue, and Chris R just helped me score a sweet deal on my first pair of skis and bindings (shout out to my boyfriend for buying me an early birthday present). All of the people that work there are super helpful and chill. If you visit this store, you've got to be nice to these guys and have patience. I recently visited the Mesa Ski Pro and purchased over $400 worth of snowboarding gear which included a new pair of gloves. When I got home I found that the security sensor was still attached to the glove inserts. I live way over in Goodyear and could not fine any place out by me to removed the sensor. I ended up having to travel way back over to Mesa to get the sensor removed. I was taken care of by "Larry". He totally hooked me up with a $20 store credit and gave me a couple of free-bees. I wanted to give a shout out and a big THANK YOU for making things right for this customer. I highly recommend Ski Pro not only for great quality products( my older gear I got over 12yrs a go from Ski Pro and the gear is still very functional) but for amazing customer service. read more

I went to the Phoenix location trying to give them a second chance only to end up resolute that no matter the distance, the Mesa location will be my store.  The employees at the Phoenix location have a nonchalant attitude about customer service, if you can get them to acknowledge you at all.  During my recent visit to the Phoenix store I was walking around trying to find what I came in for and was approached by a female employee who asked if I needed help finding the restroom, not if she could help me.  Before her question could truly register, I said no and walked away.  Perhaps they aren't used to black men shopping for snowboard gear. I eventually found the section I was looking for and patiently waited for the young salesman to finish up with another customer.  It took him 15 to even acknowledged my presence and instead of calling for some additional help, I waited another 10-15 minutes for him to help me.  I explained what I was looking for and his not so eager to help me demeanor came through loud and clear.  He immediately began telling me he wasn't sure they had what I was looking for.  I pulled out my phone to show him their website stated it was in-stock and sure enough it was.  The vibe at the Phoenix location is a far cry from the Mesa location.  It's really sad that people would rather drive all the way across the city than to frequent a business that is less than 10 minutes from their home due to rude employees. read more

As it's the ONLY true ski shop left in central Phoenix, the staff have much to do during the hubbub of the winter sport season, especially after any snowfall. If renting or buying be patient. If purchasing, Gil is extremely knowledgeable about the products in stock and really listens to you and how you ski. Both Pete and Gil who work in the ski department of the store are extremely knowledgeable, and very helpful. In speaking with them, I learned they have decades of experience in the ski industry, and their expertise really shows. We had an awesome experience today (1/30/21) while renting skis for 2 young kids. Michael in the rental shop went above and beyond to find the right size for my petite girl, and finally had to work with his team to build a set of skis/boots that would work for her. I really appreciate the customer service and his help in finding the set that would help keep my girls safe while skiing. When someone finally does offer to help, I get pretty good and knowledgeable advice, but don't expect to get "eager to please " customer service. I am a hard boot snow boarder and needed my liners molded for my new boots. Went to Ski Pro because they are really the only place in town and because one of their boots fitters (Gilby) is suppose to be amazing. My first impression was disappointing to say the least. Walked in and not one employee said anything to me, even the lady who literally looked right at me waiting and just walked by. Once I was able to get someone to talk to me I asked where I needed to go to get liners molded. The employee pointed to the back corner and with an short voice told me where to go. At this point I was really thinking about walking out and just having a shop at a resort take care of me but I decide to try it out based on the reviews of Gilby. I was not disappointed by Gilby at all! This man knows what he is talking about when it come to foot beds and liners. As a hard boot snowboarder I do not have many options for boots and all of them are way to narrow for my toe box but this man made my boots feel like they were custom built for me. The only reason I give four stars is because of Gilby and one other guy in the ski department (think he is the department head). The rest of the staff that I noticed or talked to is not even one star. In my time there (about 3 hours total) not one other staff member approached me or even said hi when walking by. You will get much better service at any of the mountain shops, so just go there. I for sure will never buy anything from them expect for boot fitting by Gilby. read more
