1/2 Overall, my experience at Dick's Sporting Goods was okay. The store was clean, well organized, and everything was neatly displayed. I also liked the music--it was playing softly in the background and created a pleasant atmosphere. My biggest issue was with the pricing. Some sale and clearance items weren't clearly marked, so I had to check the website for pricing on several products. There were also a couple of items where the in-store pricing didn't seem to match what I found online, which was a little frustrating. I also think some of the prices, particularly for kids' clothing, are on the high side. Spending around $40 for a T-shirt for a child seems excessive to me, especially when kids can be pretty hard on their clothes. That said, I understand that you're often paying for a name brand and the selection is generally good. There are some reasonably priced items, such as jump ropes, and the store does have a good variety of sporting goods. I just don't think it would be my first choice for everyday clothing or items where price is a major consideration. Overall, it's a clean and well-maintained store with a good selection, but I'd recommend comparing prices and looking for sales before buying. For me, it's about a 3 1/2-star experience. read more

We were in Arizona for the weekend and had to buy something for my grandson and I found the Nike youth Phoenix Suns T-shirt for him. It was easy to find as soon as we walked in. They had the team sports displayed! At most of the Dick's Sporting Goods, the teen sports are in the back of the store at least the one in Sacramento and the one in Denver. We always seem to have to look for it. Checkout was easy Courtney was our sales person. She was very friendly and asked if we found everything we needed. It was kind of strange. There was only one register open and maybe two or three people in line in front of me. I thought for sure that the Phoenix Suns T-shirt would be discounted since they're not in the playoffs and Basketball is just about paying over the $28 for a youth T-shirt! read more

Spoke with two customer service people who acted as if it's normal for shoes to only last 2 months. Zero customer service given today. Felt like a pain to them. Long time golfer, new to area, needed clubs regripped. Honestly went to Dick's as a last resort expecting someone that knew nothing in the golf department. Called. Austin answered. Knew what he was talking about. Went in, knew everything about the different grips, was super friendly, gave me advice on Arcis and Troon card, picked up my clubs the next day. Grips perfect. I wish I could give it a zero but the lowest score is one... I bought a $60 sports tank here. This was a big indulgence for me and I never treat myself to things like this. After three hours of use it was fraying and looked terrible because everything catches on it. Fingernails, my gloves... I used a wheelchair so I have to use gloves... and they absolutely refused to take it back! The sales associate literally said " not our fault these things just come in and the fabric just does that." What a pass the buck bucket load of bologna!! This is my go-to DSG and I've spent more money here than I wish to disclose... From gift cards for kids' birthdays to all kinds of gear for soccer, baseball, softball, and basketball, this DSG has a solid selection. We've also purchased clothing for kids and adults, water bottles, pumpkin seeds, and shoes. Lots of shoes! Socks too. Service can be hit or miss, but mostly fine. Prices are standard. The store is spacious and clean. The parking situation is not ideal, but I often get lucky and get one of the spots right out the side door off of Scottsdale Road. If you don't score one of those spots, it's likely into the mall parking lot and it's a hassle, but at least it's covered. I do like having my phone number on file so I can easily look up purchases with my email / phone number. It comes in handy for returns on occasion. All things considered, I'm a fan! read more

This place is a train wreck. I went for the first time today. An associate approached me to ask if I needed assistance. I asked if she could could do a price check. Her computer apparently couldn't do a price check. So I downloaded the application. I then went to try on the two Nike tanks I found on sale on the phone app and the fitting room was a disaster. The associate acknowledged it but did not empty it. Then when I got to the register they tried to charge me full price of course. I had to show the application so they could over ride. This took ten minutes but finally got the appropriate sales price. Won't be back anytime soon. read more

Purchased a bike online for use on a college campus. They generally hold bikes for 4 days but I needed them to hold it for a bit longer. I was in constant contact with them to ensure it was not placed back on the shelf. Once we arrived, the experience was awesome. They knew exactly who I was. Place is so annoying. Went in there today to buy some yeti cooler and for some reason they don't list the prices. Yeti products are expensive so as a customer when shopping for budget reasons it's nice to know how much you're going to spend. I don't want to get up to the register and be surprised by the price tag, especially when yeti coolers run a couple hundred dollars. So you have to get an employee to stand there and scan everything you are looking at to tell you how much the product is. Can anyone tell me the possible reason why the store would do this. Please Dicks, have someone reply to this message and tell me the reasoning behind this move because it is SUPER annoying to the customer. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this time I tried to get a supervisor and was refused so let this be a word of warning to people purchasing Shoes here. I have purchased 4 colors of Nike Airmax 270's, nike pegasus, etc., multiple $60+ shoes for my son and multiple $100 shoes for my wife from this location the shoe department is awesome in terms of employees. In fact, I even left a good review for one within their internal review system. One pair of $169 Nike AirMax 270's that I purchased, after only wearing them 5 different occasions, the air bubble "lost pressure" when the tread beneath lifted. Its a basic manufacturer defect and had something to do with the adhesive so I took them in to simply exchange them as they were in nearly new condition, not even a scuff on the white lower portion. The young woman at the desk flat refused to help me or even get a supervisor. I'm a very easy going, polite, non sarcastic or condescending personality and understand that there are procedures in place which I respect. With that said, she wouldn't even consider any other option but tell me to take it up with nike. These are $169 shoes and they were so new that I even had the original bag, box and receipt with me. We have spent $1,000's this year alone for my sons baseball gear, shoes for my wife, son and I, etc. Again, the shoe department is incredible and even call me when my size comes in for certain shoes and go the extra mile (I wear a size 13) which are tough to find. I would love it if management would reach out so that I can discuss options to just replace them as they are still in brand new condition. I still have the receipt. The Nike process is too risky because they state they are not responsible for returning them if they deem them not a defect. I will not post a picture because I understand that the store did not in fact do it and I don't want it in your store photo reel but I would be happy to email or bring them in instead. read more

I've been a long time customer and I spend way too much money here however this was a disappointing experience. ** I repeat, don't buy shoes from Dicks** BUY FROM THE MANUFACTURER. Why? The customer service desk at this location was extremely unprofessional and rude. I bought a pair of steel toe boots and Carhart pants from this location about two weeks ago. The items were valued at $165. I was in a hurry, so I did not have a chance to try them on in the store. Upon purchasing the items, I asked the cashier about the return policy at Dick's. He assured me that if I had the receipt, tags, and the condition of the items were the same as when they left the store that I would be entitled to a full refund. Upon trying the items on at my house, I realized that the boots and pants did not fit. When I tried to return the items to the store today, the customer service representative let me know that the items had been worn and she would not be able to refund my money or let me exchange the items for a size that fit properly. I tried to explain to her what expectation had been set for me upon purchasing the items, but she insisted that the items could not be returned. After all, how else would I know the items did not fit, if I did not try them on? I was planning on buying a new putter while I was in the store, but after my interaction with the customer service desk I will never be shopping at Dick's Sporting Goods again. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! They should consider updating their return policy to NO RETURNS ACCEPTED! First off, the location is not great. Parking is so hard to find, and you'd think that there would be more space that is outside of the parking garage. Secondly, this was my husband and I's first time coming into this location and most likely our last. My step dad had ordered something online, and when we went to go pick it up we weren't greeted or anything - which is fine. We walked over to the online order pick up to see what we needed to do and there were just two employees blocking the way, gossiping with each other. Fine, whatever just move along - ya know? Once they left we had figured it out and started to scan our barcode and get our ID's ready for pick up. An employee walked over to us and looked at the name and went two inches away to find our packages. Apparently he couldn't find it until we pointed it out, he grabbed it and showed it to us and to my surprise the box was already opened and beat up. There was a tear on the front, and it was obvious that this had been either returned by a customer or had been opened in the store and they were trying to get rid of the ugly box it was in. I think that's disrespectful to have your product in a box that looks that was given to a customer. I don't think that's the light they want to be seen in but I looked at it and immediately asked if there was another one or if that was the only one. The employee helping us looked annoyed but looked it up on their mobiles and went to find another one. He brought back a nicer looking one, still kinda beat up which made me think that is just how their shipment comes in. Said thank you and left, didn't even check our ID's. Which is funny, cause it was not under our name. Luckily we had the order confirmation but if we didn't, we couldn't just picked up anything? Terrible experience today! Went to find a bike for my 7 yr old. Ran into many challenges that will most likely lead me to taking my future business elsewhere or to Amazon full time. 1. No Parking-Store opens at 9:00 arrived at 9:30(on a Thursday) and parking lot was full of contractors who are working inside the store(more on that in a second). Despite signs that say "no contractor parking." A store the size of Dick's should always have parking for their customers, especially at 9:30 on a Thursday. 2. The store is an active construction site! The noise was overwhelming for me and my son. Cranes blaring, hammers thumping and drills screeching. We went to the bike section and couldn't even hear each other talk. No help from any employee. Terrible experience. I asked 2 employees about the noise and construction during business hours, they both kind of shrugged and said it should be over in a week. Great! So I can't have a pleasant shopping experience in your store for a week? No thanks. In the age of declining brick and mortar retail spending, you would think that a company with the resources of Dick's would plan for a better experience for their customers. Parking? My son's aunt sent him a Christmas present from Dicks. The shoes were a sIze too small so we went to the Dicks by our house to exchange them. They didn't have the right size at the Santan one but they said they had them in Scottsdale (which is about 40 away). I asked the guy if they could hold them and he said I can give you the number and you can ask them. (Bad customer service). So I called myself and Scottsdale did hold them. Then. When I got there, to exchange the EXACT same shoe, the cashier Logan, told me it would be $11 and some change. I said no it's the same exact shoe there shouldn't be any difference. Then he asked the manager Jen and she said bc his aunt bought them in Pennsylvania we had to pay the tax of the exchange in AZ. We even had the gift receipt. March 7th 742pm-750pm Earlier tonight I went to this Dicks Sporting Goods location at Fashion Square Mall in Scottsdale Az Store #1194 I strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere because Chris the manager at this location will discriminate against customers and judge customers without reason. I've spent thousands of dollars at different Dicks Sporting Good stores over the past 15 plus years but I'll never spend another penny at this corporation after tonight. Today I brought a friend with me who was recently released from the hospital with Stage 4 throat cancer and planned on purchasing some new clothes for him since he lost 70 pounds this year while he battled rounds of chemotherapy treatment. He's 32 years old and is down to 110 pounds at 6ft 1 inches tall, so his old clothes don't fit him properly anymore. As I walked towards the rear of the store I picked up a few different chapsticks for my girlfriend to see when she got to the store after stopping at Jamba Juice inside the mall. I asked a Dicks Team Member who I later found out was the manager of the store for assistance. I asked if the store had any Nike Air Max 90s available to which he replied "no." He mocked me moment later after finding several Air Max 90s in smaller sizes and womens styles. My girlfriend collects Air Max 90s as do I but he felt the need to insult me for asking about a woman's shoe. After I calmly explained I was checking for my girlfriend he repeatedly told me that the store didn't have the size I was checking for. I checked online before going to the location to make sure this exact location had the style and sizes I was interested in. Chris then said he didn't know where the other pair for the display model was since the display was in the size I was looking for. I then asked about another color scheme for Air Max 90s since we collect this style shoe and again he said they didn't have them. So I tried going up a half size more then once but I could tell he wasn't interested in our business. He even asked where the chapsticks were that I picked up originally for my girlfriend to see, but they were right in my hand like they should've been. So now this manager Chris is looking at us as if my friend who struggles to get around or I am a thief. I've never in my life taken anything ever and either has my friend or girlfriend. This manager Chris then said he was going to call the police on us even though we had done absolutely nothing wrong. I asked him to speak with a manager but he said he was the only superior available and then proceeded to spell his name out Chris slowly followed by inappropriate name calling and racist remarks. I'm unpleasantly surprised to have learned that Dicks Sporting Goods would place an employee of this character in a position of power. Managers should be setting positive examples instead of the opposite. Chris then lied about his store number when I asked him for it and created more of a scene as I attempted to speak with a different employee in hopes of speaking with a supervisor. He demanded I not speak to his cashier and that she doesn't have to tell me anything. Chris rudely reminded me that he was the manager and to get the fuck out of here. If this is how management is allowed to conduct themselves at Dicks Sporting Goods then I would suggest taking your money elsewhere. The fact that he was willing to verbally bully my friend based on his medical condition and yell derogatory phrases at us both shows the type of character that Dicks Sporting Goods is choosing to promote within their business. He ruined our night and lost our business for good. The worst thing is my friend is already self conscious over the weight loss he's dealing with and this was his first time being out in public in a year. Chris made jokes about a stage 4 cancer patient and I would hope everyone who reads this chooses to take their business elsewhere since this is the type of customer service Dicks Sporting Goods deems acceptable. I pray that this situation doesn't happen to anyone else and that upper management handles it properly. He is the reason my friend can't go out in public because poor mannered managers assume my friend is on a drug due to his body weight being so low. When in all actuality anybody who has been forced to eat meals from a tube in their side going straight to their stomach would lose weight. Chemotherapy isn't easy and people like Chris make dealing with cancer even worse because they want to judge a book by the cover. Learn not to assume things Chris and learn how to treat loyal customers. Your words are more hurtful then you understand and I doubt Dicks Sporting Goods would consider your words or actions appropriate to say the least. read more

I have admittedly only been to this location a handful of times: race packet pickups, swim goggle shopping, xmas shopping, back-to/school-shopping. This last time my kids & I went in to try to use a gift card to buy some shoes for one or all 3 kids. There seems to be a generous enough number of staff in the building but when it comes to the shoe department, it is TERRIBLE! They have several of those "foot-sizer" devices around under the benches but I have never seen a staff member EVER use one! Seems like they have zero knowledge about shoe sizing. So when you finally decide the shoe you'd like to try on, the staff member radios' the shoe-dog...I didn't see this employee except to drop off the shoes you asked about. The salesman doesn't hang around to help suggest with other alternatives. It took us AN HOUR to try on 3 pairs of shoes, not kidding!! My boy wanted some Vans, so the salesman and the shoe dog ran (ran? Ha ha, that is a joke) to the back only to find the size he asked for 9.5 wasn't there, but he did have a 10. We were surprised he didn't anticipate and bring the 10 with him. So then he "ran" to the back to retrieve the size 10 shoes. 10 minutes later after trying those on My boy wasn't a fan of the Vans so we went out to the Vans store in the mall to see the larger selection. Glad we didnt buy any Vans that day! Anyway, I wish there were more actual working employees there instead of the tired, burned out fluff. Shopper beware read more

I just purchased a badminton set from this location, when I got home and opened it up I realized it was used (the spikes had dirt on them, all the packaging was opened). Nothing was missing so rather then drive back to this location to exchange it (which was the option given to me when I called them about my item being used) I figured I would just set it up. After getting the net set up in the yard I grabbed the rackets and realized 1 was broken. At this point everything is set up, I am not going to take it all down over 1 racket. I do not have an issue with purchasing used, but I would like to be aware that the item is used and not be charged the same price as the new item. read more

Absolutely terrible return experience. I was treated with a complete lack of respect and was denied a return that adhered to the stated company policy, just minutes after making a purchase. The Assistant Manager, Jen was extremely rude and disrespected me as a customer. She said she would take an item for return then later denied giving me a return because she did not like my behavior. She said "I have the right to refuse service to anyone" and decided to not allow my return. I treated her with complete and total respect. I didn't say anything that would constitute disrespect. I simply wanted an item returned which is part of the company policy. She came off with an air of arrogance like she was better than me or above me. She kept reiterating that she has the right to deny any return that she wants - even if the company policy is to allow the return. If that is Dick's Sporting Goods company policy, that is ridiculous. She decided she didn't like me after talking to me and rescinded my return opportunity. I have been shopping at Dick's since I was a kid and have easily spent tens of thousands of dollars there, but after being disrespected during this ridiculous return and made out to look like I was being uncooperative in front of the entire store, I will never come back.
