Wow. Don't know what to even say. I've never seen anything like this. I've been in my times before and they have been kind and helpful. Today I took 3 little girls in to buy each of them equipment. While the owner went to the back to look for something I took my phone out of my pocket to respond to a text. He wasn't even close to me, but spotted me looking at my phone on his way out. He shouted at me in front of all my girls. "I can't help you get out. If your going to be on your phone I can't work with you!". I got my girls out quickly before he went off anymore. Against my better judgement I went back in and told him " sorry that I offended you, but I was just responding to an important text and was going to put my phone away when you got back.". He yelled at me that I should have went outside and quietly took the call. Not sure what that meant. The only time I was on a call he was helping another customer. We were patiently waiting and yes I did quietly use my phone. I understand this is a pet peeve for some people, but if this is that big of a deal for you, try posting a no cell phone sign on your door. Or how about asking me politely to not use my phone. I would have gladly obliged. read more

How many times have you driven by this store on the way to Perfect North and asked yourself, I wonder what that store is like? I myself did this, and finally recently took the time to stop in. It was a very busy afternoon as the slopes had just opened, but the staff took this in stride. They were all smiles and eager to share their passion for skiing and knowledge about just the right equipment. I was looking for ski boots and was lucky enough to work with Dave, who not only has been skiing for years, but is a PSIA level 3 instructor. They have a small selection of new gear, and an even bigger selection of gently used gear. They offer ski rentals/demos which is nice, because you can try something out before making the big purchase. Although they just didn't have something that fit in the right size, they gave me a great idea of what I needed to look for, and also earned my loyalty as I will be back in the future! read more

Myron runs a first class ski and snowboard sales and rental operation. When we were in need of ski equipment for ourselves and grandkids, he had a great selection of skis and boots for both of our grandkids in both new and used equipment. My wife got her skis and boots at Ski Train Depot, and he took some practically new step-in bindings off an old pair of skis I had and mounted them on a pair of Solomon Snow blades that I use to this day! His prices are fair and he doesn't try to sell you anything you don't need. And he goes out of his way to ensure proper fit and appropriate skill level for the equipment you buy. He also repairs and services skis, snowboards and boots (he did an outstanding job of modifying my boot buckles to fit my calves!). Went in to Ski Train Depot last minute before a big trip. We had borrowed a snowboard from a friend and realized there was a strap missing. Also needed new skis fitted to my boots. The gentleman whipped out some tools and started repairing everything he could to make sure we were prepared. It turns out the screws needed tightened on just about everything and the bindings were not adjusted properly for the snowboard boot. T back cuff of my ski boots was missing a screw that would have made them unusable, and this gentleman went through every screw he had to make sure I was taken care of. He was working alongside a young lady that was behind the counter, and together they explained everything they were doing and why. In the end, I expected some crazy bill with unreasonable amounts for every small repair, but they charged me next to nothing so I actually ended up buying a very nice pair of gloves for my trip. Exceptional service at a very reasonable price. I couldn't be more impressed. They definitely earned my business for life. read more
