I have spent over 600 on bike tuneups and my bike is a mess. I have been back 3 times and still the problems aren't resolved. Unfortunately they have horrible mechanics. I hate to say this about people in trades but do you job right and you will not have complaints. the gears shift on there own and the chain constantly skips. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my bike before I took it in. I have had nothing but issues since I got it back. Both times I was in the store people were also complaining about the same issues. This is the last time I will ever deal with the Blue Ash store! read more

I bought a bike over the phone, and then drove to pick it up on 7/13/2021. This was my first "nice" bike I have ever bought, so I had high hopes. The store was very clean and nice, and the employees were very helpful. I ended up getting a water bottle cage and a kickstand put on the bike (it oddly enough took around 20 minutes to put both simple items on). Everything seemed great until I brought it home (2 hours away, I had to travel in order to find a bike in stock due to the bike shortages) and started using the kickstand. It was very wobbly, and did not seem to be put on securely. I took a closer look and one of the bolt heads was broken off, so it was just the threads. The other bolt would not tighten anymore, even though it was clearly loose. I removed the bolt (with the head) and took the kickstand off. The threads in the frame were severely cross threaded, as the employee who put the kickstand on was careless. He cross threaded BOTH bolts into the aluminum frame, broke the bolt head off of one bolt, and sent it home with me like nothing happened. This was just one bad experience with one employee's work, so I am not judging the store by this person's mistakes. The manager who helped me with a different concern was very nice and even helped me find the best method to transport the bike home. I WOULD recommend this bike shop to people. However, if you are getting simple bike work done, watch the person doing it to make sure they don't ruin the threads on the frame. I am going to go to a closer bike shop to get this repaired after I call the Trek Bicycle Store in Blue Ash, OH to inform them of this issue. Again, I did like the customer service and store in general, just not this specific person's work on my brand new bike. read more

I purchased my Trek electric Allant about September of 2021. I drove an hour to pick it up as there was a shortage at the time. The staff was very friendly and when they gave me the charger it was for a different model. The told me the chargers were all the same. I asked them about the Owner's Manual and was told Trek no longer includes the manuals as they are online. I got it home and on my first ride I noticed when I shifted to 9th gear it would not upshift on the bicycle. About a mile later I felt a clunk and it upshifted to 9th. I tried shifting up and down and the same thing, 9th delayed upshifting. I called the dealer and they said bring it back and they said it needed to break in. I told them my other Trek bike didn't do that so I drove an hour back to Blue Ash and they were very nice and adjusted it while I waited. I got it home and on my next ride the same thin, it delayed upshifting. I again drove an hour back and waited for them to adjust it. They rode it around the lot and assured me it was shifting. I drove an hour back home and when I took it out it delayed upshifting to 9th. Everytime I took it back they were very nice and adjusted it while I waited. Each time a different employee adjusted it and every time I got it home and rode it the same thing happened, it delayed upshifting. This happened 8 times and 8 times it wasn't fixed. A year later I stopped at a local bicycle dealer (not Trek) and was chatting with the owner. After awhile I told him about my problem not upshifting right away. He told me it's and easy fix and I told him Trek tried 8 times and didn't fix it. He volunteered to look at it but I was on another bike. I got to thinking about what he said to fix it and I never saw Trek in Blue Ash adjust the detailer, it was always the cable. I called Trek Corporate and asked about the warranty and it was just past the period. I told them about the issue with their store in Blue Ash and the 1 hour drive to take it back. They called a local Trek store a few miles from my house and they said they would look at it. In a few hours they called me back and said I could pick it up. I took it out and it shifted perfect. Now my next issue. When I picked it up I asked if the bike came with an Owner's Manual. The local dealer showed me the manuals from one he had in stock. That was the second lie Blue Ash told me. He also showed me how to toggle the monitor which I did not know I could do. I called Trek Corporate and they don't have any manuals. Corporate told me the best they could do was email me a copy. read more

I went into this store roughly four months ago. At this time, I was looking for a specific roof rack accessory and they were the only ones in the area to have it. I walked in the store and was immediately greeted by Mike. He walked me through how it worked and attached, through that he discovered I was in the market for a Bike. I've only ever had mountain bikes previously and hadn't ridden a bike in roughly 10 years. Through several test rides of mountain bikes and a short rental, I realized a mountain bike didn't fit the style of riding I now knew I wanted to do. Walking back into the Trek store with my mountain bike in tow I was immediately met by Mike again. I explained to him that I think I made a mistake, expecting a good amount of distain his reaction was anything but. He totally understood and was more than excited to show me pavement specific bikes. Again, I test rode several bikes, went through the features, benefits, etc. Mike showed patience and passion through the entire experience. I really felt that finding the perfect bike for me was Mikes top priority. I eventually landed on the FX3 Disc. I am beyond in love with it! Its quick, comfortable, and tough! Cycling has brought something into my life that I didn't expect. My vision was to ride this bike for fitness, but in just a couple months its transformed into a hobby. It makes me feel like a kid again! Meeting up with my friends and just exploring, stumbling across a new brewery, riding to breakfast on a Sunday morning, and just enjoying life. I live in Liberty township. I have at least two TREK stores/retailers closer to me than Blue ash. The level of service I receive from Mike and his staff makes the additional drive worth it. read more

I'm currently hitting up all the local bike shops trying to find the right bike, at the right price, at the right shop. I can only talk about the women specific road bikes because that's what I am in the market for. The store was pretty empty for a Saturday afternoon so I was helped quickly by one of the sales guys. He was incredibly knowledgeable and educated me on a few different aspects of road bikes. I liked that the staff didn't talk down to me but were just very excited to educate me! Unfortunately the selection of women specific road bikes was pretty small. They seem to have a high end, a mid range, and a starter. The bikes are all Trek brand and what I saw ranged in price from $2500 - $600. I was disappointed that there weren't any lower priced (thinking in the $300 range) bikes to try out to see the difference in the higher quality versus lower quality. At that time they didn't have any bikes my size to test ride except for the highest price bike, which I wasn't willing to try since it was so far out of my price range. They did offer to build a bike in my size that day so I could come back and try it out, but I wasn't planning on being in the area for much longer. So I'm sticking with a 3/5 - middle of the road review because I liked the knowledgable and friendly staff but was disappointed with the lack of variety and small number of lower price point road bikes. read more

I brought my trek road bike to be tuned up. Worked fine for like maybe 3 rides. The loose spoke that I originally brought it in for is now again broken. The guy there boasted how his shop knew how to fix the tension and everything. So much for that and my $100 and change. Out another $25 after having them true the spokes after a tune up. I can't believe believe the amazing customer service I have received from not one, but two Trek Bike stores. I started at the West Chester Store and picked up the bike in the Kenwood store and one experience was even better then the first. I have to say Daniel H. at the West Chest Store has the most incredible customer service and kept me informed of everything. We spoke about the Kenwood store having the bike in stock and that I didn't have a problem going to that store to pick up my bike. Well, I got there and Nick was ready and waiting for me and the experience with Nick was tremendous. Nick put me on a few different sized bikes and lo and behold the one I thought would fit me was the wrong size all around. Nick explained why i was uncomfortable riding other bikes as no one took the time to truly measure me. I have nothing but kudos for both Daniel and Nick and when I finally got to ride my bike it was like riding in a limo as the ride is smooth and very comfortable for me. I've given the Trek Blue Ash store many opportunities, and I have always walked away disappointed. My first visit was when I was looking for a nice road bike for Triathlons. The key to having a good bike is related to fit, and many bike shops that sell high end bikes offer a full fit service to ensure you walk away with the best bike possible. At this store, they asked me my height and made a bike size reco purely on that. I ask about fit and they said I just need to ride the bike a while and see how it works out. I went to Oakley Cycles and they did a full fit for free. I bought my road bike from them. My second experience at Trek was for service in my Trek Mtn bike where the chain was slipping. The service said I just needed to change the chain. I did so and took my bike away. Chain was still slipping!! Did they not test it? I took the bike back and they recommended changing one of the front gears. I asked that they replace all of them and I was told it wasn't necessary. When I picked up the bike, I went to parking lot and it was still slipping!!! The service tech replaced the gears as I asked and the problem was fixed. For the cost of service I expect 100% confidence, not three trips back. Finally, in my last trip ever in the store I went to buy a trainer. They are the listed local rep for the model I was interested in. The manager said that it was a slow sales time for trainers so he wasn't going to restock but "could order me one in". If Amazon didn't exist maybe this was a good answer, but not in modern times. He made no effort to help. My go to shops are now Oakley, Biowheels and GoFast solely due to their more customer centric focus. read more

To make a long story short (and as I look at the finished review I apologize for making it a long story), the claim that they "take" trade-ins is very true...they try to take the trade in for nothing. I tried to trade a practically brand new (1 month old) Jamis Hudson Sport 7 speed with Sure Stop breaking and XC60 front suspension (Retail $469) in on a new Trek Verve 3. I am recovering from spine surgery and bought the Jamis to get back into riding with relatively low cost exposure with good quality in case it did not work out. I have progressed quicker than I anticipated and wanted to make the next gradual move and decided on the Trek Verve 3 with the idea that I would keep moving up and diversify as I get better...so there I was yesterday in the store after looking at their website. I must say here that I have been a fan of Trek since I purchased a 1420 in '92...I brought that bike along also, not to trade but to see what they would offer for it having researched its value. After I was told that that bike is worthless, the salesman went on to tell me how this time of the year is not a good time to sell a bike (although many are going back to school and looking for used bikes), he then took it in and put it on the rack and tried to tell me there were issues with it (one example is a wobble of the rear wheel which I pointed out to him was not a wheel wobble but the appearance of one due to the thick whitewall and a slight flaw in the actual stripe, which is somewhat normal and there was no wobble and absolutely nothing "catching" there). The appearance and condition of the bike is mint...I wash and mechanically check it after and before every ride. Keep in mind that I researched what it is worth (new retail, used retail, and used wholesale), I could see his mind working...a low to medium level sale and a trade in of another relatively inexpensive bike...he blurted out he would only give me $100 for the bike (retail of $469)...My point here is this: I went into a Trek store based on the quality and well deserved reputation of the product expecting to be treated like I was in a quality establishment, I equate Trek to Mercedes, so I was expecting Dana Motors treatment and after being lured in I was treated like I was at Cash's Big Bargain Barn or a Buy Here Pay Here Used car lot...if the salesperson would have spent a little bit of time on the sale he would have learned my four grown children and their families along with my wife all ride Treks and are looking to get new ones as they have been riding the old ones for quite some time. He also would have learned that I plan to keep upgrading and diversifying as I get better, instead he was looking at the quick sale so he offered me the great deal of paying full retail and giving me nothing for my trade...sound familiar...see used car lot...if this is their business model they should be selling junk, not one of the best bike lines around.Needless to say I left with a bad taste in my mouth. I have since sold that bike ( IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS FROM THE TIME I WAS IN THEIR STORE) that would not sell at this time of year for more than what I thought would be a fair trade number and purchased the Verve 3 for less than what they wanted to charge me. I have also made an appointment with the shop I went to to set my wife up with a new bike and my adult kids have gotten the bug to buy new...hmm, how many thousands did you cost yourself Trek of Cincinnati??? If you want a Trek, look elsewhere, I will not advertise for the other shop but when you find it you will be more than satisfied...run and run far from Trek of Cincinnati. read more

I recently purchased a bike at the Trek store on Kenwood Road, coming in after having researched several brands of bikes but still needing to talk to an expert. I found not only experts but enthusiastic cyclists at Trek, who greeted me as soon as I walked in the door and - with no sales pressure - steered me to a bicycle that fit my price range and ride comfort. Steve ( my salesman ) had me test a couple of models, and watched me so he could evaluate my posture in order to determine the proper size of the bike I needed. He was knowledgeable, asked a lot of questions and answered mine. He also showed me the large map they have in the showroom that plots out the extensive bike trail network we have in Cincinnati. Since then, I've been back twice - once to get a second non-Trek bike tuned up and another to buy a bike rack for the car. Great service from Steve, Dan and Nick. I made my first and last trip to Trek of Cincinnati on Kenwood Rd. (Or for that matter, any Trek of Cincinnati store) today. Having just recently gotten back into biking after many years of poor health, I purchased a Jamis Hudson 7 speed about a month ago thinking I needed to ease my way back into it. The bike is great, but I have progressed faster than I first thought I could. I wanted to make the next gradual step and purchase a hybrid. The brand "Trek" speaks for itself. I looked online and found their website. On it they say if you want to upgrade to a new bike, they take trades. My plan was to take this next step and then keep trading up as I am able to do more...Well, they "take" trades alright. The salesman was very eager to show me a bike, however, I had done my research before going in so he really did not have to sell the bike, and I also knew the value of my bike (new retail, used retail, and used wholesale). As we were walking out to look at my bike the salesman started telling me what my bike wasn't worth before even seeing it. He told me how it was the wrong time of year to try and sell a used bike, yada, yada, yada. I had brought a '92 Trek 1420 along to get an idea of what it might be worth, not to trade but to see what he would say...keep in mind I did my research. After telling me it was worth nothing but in great shape he then looked at my Jamis. As I said, it is a month old, I keep it in mint condition, always cleaned and lubricated and adjusted if need be (I've had not one problem with it). He takes it inside all the while doing the math in his head...I was wanting a low dollar bike ($659) and he didn't see a chance to make anything substantial on the deal...to make a long story short after not finding anything wrong with my bike, he tried to tell me it had a wheel wobble (which is attributed to the whitewall stripe on the tire, not a wheel wobble). When I pointed this out he became short and said he would give me $100 for the bike...so let me get this strait...a mint condition bike that retailed for $480 four weeks ago is now worth $100...and...I get the honor to pay full retail for his product...that is insulting...It reminds me of a "buy here pay here" used car lot. You know the one... bad credit or no credit, you don't need credit to buy a car from Cash at Cash's bargain barn!!! Or, "want to upgrade, our friendly staff will gladly help you find the right bike and we take trades"...stupid me, thinking because it is a Trek dealer they would not stoop so low to get you in the door...as I said on their Facebook page (and you will never see it there) a Trek is like a Mercedes. I expected them to be more like Dana motors than Cash's used cars. The moral of the story is, Trek is a wonderful product. You can find quality in all their models, just find it somewhere else, these guys want your first born and top dollar. I will say, since this morning, I have sold my bike for what I thought it would go for (which was quite a bit more than I was willing to take on a trade to Trek of Cincinnati so I was not expecting them to be anything but fair), and have purchased the Trek model I wanted from another dealer in another town letting them know this is just the first of many purchases for me as well as my wife, four kids and their growing families...your poor business skills cost you a lifelong customer with a large family of Trek bike riders...STAY CLEAR OF TREK OF CINCINNATI read more
