STPS has been a god send for us. We've been utilizing STPS for 2 years now and have seen great improvement in our son's sensory needs. Lauren has been instrumental in teaching us and teaching Miles how to listen to his body in order to gain regulation skills he could not access previously. I cannot express how blessed we are to have STPS and especially Lauren in our son's corner. We just started using their BT services - Vivian has been amazing and understands our son so well. They've also been instrumental in getting our son well regulated in a higher demand environment where is being academically challenged to his actual abilities (above grade level). Excellent care for your child's needs! We cross a bridge to come here at it is WORTH it! I was looking for OT for my child and it has been very difficult to find a company. Skilled Therapy Play Services allows us access to in-person services, personalized treatment plans, and so much practical home advice! They also have ABA services! We worked with STPS for our neurodiverse child's OT and BT needs. Erin's philosophy around addressing sensory needs as the foundation for other developmental progress really resonated with us. Both the therapists that our child worked with were extremely adept at building a successful relationship with him. They worked closely with us on his goals and we had entire visibility into how they worked with him. The parent coaching sessions were incredibly useful for us as parents to build up our knowledge around how to support our child's needs. It's because of his BCBA that we learned how to advocate for our son. Erin and her team are doing such a phenomenal job with STPS and we've never once had to ask twice to enlist their help with anything -- be it additional services, changes in schedules, working with insurance etc. We had to relocate unfortunately and we dearly miss having STPS as part of our child's support team. My 6-year-old son attended Skilled Therapy & Play Services for several months. Aimee, his therapist, was fabulous: highly skilled, professional, and great at communicating with both kids and parents. We can't recommend Erin enough. She is brilliant, intuitive, and exceptionally creative to each child's individual needs. Our son has little idea he is "working" on sensory processing, gross, fine, and visual motor skills. She quickly identified "games" to improve his working memory. I rarely write reviews, but I would be remiss if I did not do one for Skilled Therapy & Play Services. When the owner, Erin, found me almost a year ago, we were in a low and confusing place, with little support for our child and some scary messaging from the schools. I posted in one of the babysitter apps for help at home and briefly described my LO and Erin reached out to me and explained occupational therapy and how it might benefit my child. Erin started working with us in so many more ways than just improving his balance and coordination. She helped me learn about the sensory needs that my child has and exactly how I can get ahead of potential challenges by giving him a chance to move his body in certain ways at intervals throughout the day. Our child is now extremely successful in his school environment and we can breathe a sigh of relief. Erin is knowledgeable, warm, and trustworthy. She was an initial and pivotal part of our care team and we still rely on her to help us navigate new situations. Bethany is professional, skilled, and extremely capable. We were with a great OT and because of lack of availability with her, we sought out Erin's services. I was initially hesitant as I was very happy with our OT and wasn't sure if anybody would match up and continue the amazing progress our kid was making. In this journey, we have to be incredibly lucky to find good therapists who work with passion and are acutely receptive to our feedback, requests, and priorities. I know many of us get so tired of meeting lackluster professionals who just do their job like a routine and if the kid doesn't make progress they just shrug and imply the kid isn't capable. It is so depressing when we have such experiences dashing our high hopes of therapy making a difference for our kids. Erin is a genuine therapist, who cares deeply about her clients and works extra hard to find ways to help the child overcome tough challenges by never giving up, and always trying to make it extra motivating for the kid to try new things. She is abreast of all the new data and research in the relevant fields and adopts new techniques carefully measuring how much of an impact they make for a client. She is an excellent mentor to her co-workers and always maintains high morale. She does weekly check-ins with all the therapists and revises approaches based on feedback from the past week to hone every session to make progress. She is often available for a quick exchange of ideas or feedback or anything else. She always spends extra time to explain in depth what she sees and how we can help the child. Our kid made a lot of progress and we are thankful to her and Lauren for working towards many great improvements in our child. Choosing Skilled Play Therapy, you are sure to get top-notch services and a team who works to make real measurable progress. The only con is they do not work with insurance, and provide a superbill, making it unaffordable for many. I hear what the insurances pay do not fairly cover the costs involved in providing the best services and facilities required and hence we see therapists choosing to go out of network. I wish that changes so many can avail their help to make progress in their kid's journey. read more
