After a disappointing experience with a huge ortho practice rehab, and needing continued PT, I…read moreresearched and asked neighbors for recommendations and selected Ivy Rehab in Arlington. Ivy was the only place that would guarantee the availability of short-term daily PT as requested by my surgeon (and covered by insurance). I was extremely fortunate to have treatment by Gregory B., who provided skilled, patient, effective care (no handing off to exercise technicians). He paid attention, answered questions thoroughly, made suggestions for different approaches, and was very kind and patient. The staff are diligent about cleaning surfaces, and the receptionists are excellent at handling appointments and other requests. There is plenty of parking, which is comped by Ivy. In addition to "routine" PT, the practice also offers other helpful treatment, such as dry needling - which helped me almost immediately - and for Meniere disease (vertigo). The vibe is excellent, not too crowded nor too loud and everyone is friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, the ortho was going to be booked out for more than a month!!! Very fortunately, I decided to start PT to hopefully get relief before my consult, now I'm almost 100% better in pain, range of motion from the manual therapy, exercises, and modified movements learned here. My therapist, Marco, is FANTASTIC!! He's so knowledgeable and takes his time. Also, he's a miracle worker!! I definitely felt like I had a new knee after the first visit and I am getting progressively better. Furthermore, they understand my goals of getting back to the gym and my normal fitness level and are progressing me toward that!! The front desk staff here is amazing - she was able to get me an appt within a few days of me calling. Also called me back ASAP on my insurance benefits. Super professional!!! Thank you guys so much for the ways you go above and beyond!!! Tips: parking in private lot around the building. They validate parking. They do not accept AMEX

My PT sessions alternated between Maggie and Kris twice a week until late May, when my visits tapered off to once a week until completion of my therapy in mid- to late-June. Both Maggie and Kris are consummate professionals, friendly and engaging but also acutely aware of what I could (and couldn't do) at the various stages of my recovery. Without their help, I would not have recovered as quickly - and as strongly - as I did. They were very knowledgeable, while still being careful, about expanding my ankle's range of motion and building its strength, which in turn gave me more confidence in the progress of my recovery. Because of their prudent treatment and careful prodding, I was starting neighborhood walks by late March, resumed bike riding in early May, and started hitting golf balls again in mid-May. By the end of May, I was taking 25 mile bike rides and playing 18 holes of golf - well ahead of my anticipated recovery schedule. I'm very grateful for their treatment and professionalism, as well as for the work of the staff at Medstar PT Arlington. My treatment overlapped with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the protocols at Medstar were very solid. I would highly recommend their services to anyone in need of PT.

I mention this to highlight how extremely disgusted I was with my experience with this place, and I didn't even get to walk into the building. My physician highly recommended this clinic as she heard they had a good pelvic floor program. I was experiencing chronic, constant pain that was interfering with my life. However, after she gave me the order she said she wanted to rule out a couple other unrelated possibilities for my pain that seemed more likely. We worked on those for a couple months before revisiting the idea of PT. I recently had a phone call with my physician and she said to go ahead and schedule the PT appointment. I gave this clinic a call and left a message. The next day I called multiple times and no one picked up. I left a message that evening before they closed. I called multiple times the next day. This went on for a week. I didn't hear from them. A week later they finally called me back. The lady on the phone wasn't rude but wasn't nice. She immediately asked for the date on the original order I had. She then said the order couldn't be more than 30 days old. I couldn't believe it. I asked if I could make the appointment and then fax over the new order. The woman refused to accommodate me. I then brought up that I was unable to reach them for over a week. I asked if the same thing would happen after we hung up. She assured me that "last week we were short staffed." I asked again if I could make the appointment, and if they didn't get my order within 10 minutes they could cancel it. That was not ok, apparently. My side note: the date wouldn't matter until I went in for my appointment. It's not like they originally asked me to fax it over. I could have originally lied and said it was dated today. After ending the call, I immediately called my physician and they immediately faxed a new order to the clinic. While getting the fax ready, they told me that the date on the order shouldn't matter, and according to my insurance I didn't even NEED an order to go wherever I needed. I assured him that I told the clinic that and they still required the order to be dated within 30 days. I called this clinic back after only 10 minutes had passed from when I originally hung up to call my physician. No one picked up. I left a message, asking them to confirm they received my order and to schedule an appointment. I waited a half hour and called back. No answer. I waited another half hour, called, and left another VM, begging them to return my call. No answer. I tried multiple times for the remainder of the day and no one answered. I received a call back 4 days later but I missed it. They left a message. I called them back, no response. Needless to say, I called another clinic. They answered my call right away. They were super helpful and kind. I have an appointment. I only tried so hard because my doctor highly recommended this clinic for pelvic floor issues. But I can't honestly imagine this place is worth all the hassle of making an appointment. They can't even be organized enough to answer their phones. What kind of care can I expect after this hassle? I hope they hire a full-time receptionist who knows how to return phone calls. The VM message says all calls will be returned within 24 hours. What a joke. Get your stuff together. All of that said, I fully understand they may currently be short staffed due to perhaps a recent departure of their receptionist. It's the only explanation to this terrible customer service that makes me feel better about all of this. But even if that's the case, the lady could have been a little nicer or more up-front. Or, they could have hired a temp worker to help them out. I also acknowledge that I should have given up after the first 48 hours, and definitely shouldn't have kept trying after so long. A mistake I will not be repeating. I also acknowledge that I got extremely upset over this when I should have just gave up earlier. So my frustration may be making me much harsher than I should be. In the end, I seriously hope no one else experiences the headache I did, and that this was a fluke.

On recommendation of our dentist, we tried some videos to help him with speech, but we were not successful on our own. After a Zoom call with Ariel and Ahmad, the speech therapist, we felt very confident and comfortable with Fairfax Pediatric Therapy. After the first session, my son made huge strides in his "sh" sounds - he was actually able to articulate it correctly, even if it was a struggle. Long story short, as of today (3 months after starting) Finn has met all of his speech goals and no longer needs the services. Both Ahmad and Finn worked hard to make this happen - and in such a short time. I didn't expect progress so fast, to be honest. Not only that - my kiddo actually looked forward to the sessions. Ahmad took the time to get to know his interests - chess and strategy games - and built the sessions around play. When we left today, for the last time, Finn said he was going to miss his friend. We have had the best experience! Thank you.

At 25 years old and as an avid runner, I was not keen on this idea and was dissatisfied with a suggested opiate approach to my pain. I was recommended to see Dr. Stroud by a friend. Instantly, we connected. After hearing for years about pain mitigation and more shots and pills, it felt like ecstasy to have someone bring a can-do attitude and positive outlook to my pain. We did I believe 10 rolfing sessions together, it was not easy but Dr. Stroud worked hard while we were together and while apart (to get insurance to help pay for my sessions). She helped me change my posture, running style, and even the seat in my car to make sure I wouldn't be plagued by knee and hip pain. I am totally pain-free now, my "doctors" are miffed. Dr. Stroud changed my life. I log a minimum of ten thousand steps a day, run often, play sports, and lift weights. To think walking was supposedly going to be a lifelong struggle, I cannot thank Dr. Stroud and the Hand-N-Hand team enough. I'd pay double the price I paid to be as content as I am now with my body. I recommend them to anyone who has a nagging injury or isn't content with a life of pain.
