Have been trying to make an appointment here - called the standard line and new patient line, once was put on hold and the person never came back, left 2 separate messages (says they will call back in 24 hours..they do not). Don't have time to continue trying and this seems like a bad sign, so moving on to another provider! read more

TLDR: Was coerced by Dr. Amanda Lloyd into receiving a biopsy that wasn't medically necessary after assuring me that it would be healed within 5-7 days. Over 3 months later I am left with an extremely noticeable scar on the tip of my nose that has redefined my entire appearance and bothers me every day. After my review, Lloyd retaliated against my wife by having her wait multiple months to see a specialist, before, out of the blue, canceling her appointment claiming she wasn't comfortable seeing us anymore. Went for my overall check and had a slight, unnoticeable bump on my nose that I brought up. Dr. Lloyd confessed that it was most likely nothing but a biopsy should be done anyways. I initially declined the biopsy and her response was "what, do you have family pictures coming up?" I was starting a new job in 5 days and didn't want my nose bandaged. She said it would be totally healed in 5-7 days and won't be noticeable. Again I didn't want to go through but she continued to pressure me until I relented. Biopsy completed, bandage on, tries to sell me her $90 retinol, results in 2 weeks. 2 weeks go by, no call, wound not healed. 3 weeks go by, no call, wound not healed. 1 month later, no call, wound not healed. My wife gets a call about her results but has to ask about mine. They give her the results. Benign, a big fat nothing burger like we all thought. They want to see me in office again 2 weeks later. Meanwhile, my nose is completely butchered. Wound on the tip of my nose, not healing, dark circle wound with a lighter tone in the middle. It looks like a shiny crater on the tip of my nose, a little smaller than a dime. Appointment day, no one welcomed me in office. After sitting in the patient room for 20 minutes, she arrives. I show her my nose and tell her about the lack of healing and how I'm upset about how this has gone. She proceeds to gaslight me by reframing our initial appointment conversation as if I was highly concerned and wanted the (unnoticeable) bump removed. I told her that wasn't accurate and said she told me I would be healed in a week. She says that's not what she meant and "apologized" for the missed communication. Proceeds to tell me scars can take years to heal and I should get some retinol cream for $90 from her or she could put in a prescription, but that it could also be very expensive (news flash, it was free!). I was so angry over the entire exchange, I just stared a hole in the wall and declined everything else she had to offer. I'm most likely permanently disfigured because of Dr. Lloyd and she literally could not have cared less. Would be 0 stars. I will update with pictures. read more

I define & set precedence on the most Horrendous/ painful nightmare of an experience where I scheduled an hour lift before an important, put schedule of myself & my family upside down, prepaid in full prior to the procedure, travelled to the office to hav ethe shock of my life that I unanticipated to pay $1600 right before procedure & my reluctance costed me procedure decline immediately. We have filed a formal complaint against this company and we want to warn others about their services. In our experience, they scammed our insurance company by overcharging for a service they essentially failed to provide. In the process, there were also attempts to over diagnose and prescribe unnecessary products to make an extra buck. After complaining, Dr. Lloyd showed zero concern about the patient's actual health outcomes and, in fact, tried to justify her unethical behavior. They advertise themselves as medical dermatology professionals, but they are at best, a glorified botox bar. read more

I chose Dr. Lloyd as my dermatologist due to her credentials, and also because she offers the most current technology and cosmetic procedures. I have had a few appointments for "basic" derm stuff and I've had a very good experience. Dr. Lloyd is NOT rushed or hurried during the appointment. She and her staff are friendly and come across as genuinely caring. It's a pleasure to go to the appointments here, because this MD and her staff are focused on YOU, and they are listening to and responding to what you are saying. Dr. Lloyd is lovely and professional. We liked her a lot. I'd happily award her 5 stars except for their rigid rule about skin injectables. This is the only dermatological or even plastic surgery practice I've ever come across that flatly refuses to quote a price per unit or per vial for ANY of their injectables either on their website or even in person. Dr. Llloyd's staff insists on every patient paying a $150 "consultation fee" just to hear their basic pricing. My sister and I have both been using injectables for years. $150 "consultation fee" is ridiculous. It's irrelevant to us that they promise to apply our $150 "consultation fee" towards our treatment IF we decide to proceed with treatments. No other medical office that either of us has ever dealt with in San Diego, Carlsbad, Orange County or Los Angeles has ever done this. It obligates the patient to consent to treatment if they ever hope to see any portion of $150 back. It would be a simple thing to simply do as every other medical practice does: post pricing lists online or at least be willing to quote basic pricing over the phone. Yes---we get it---there is no way to accurately know how much of any product will be used until the Dr. is able to accurately access. But certainly basic unit pricing (or price per vial for fillers) should be divulged in advance. Just as every other competent medical practice is willing to do. read more

Gorgeous office and friendly, wonderful staff. Dr. Lloyd was kind, professional, and thorough, taking all the time necessary for my exam and to explain all of my options for treatment in detail. I never felt rushed or pushed to buy product or things I might not need. Much appreciated! Incredible experience, from check-in to finish. I went in for a cosmetic request and also for a medical issue. Both were handled expertly. I had Excel Laser for redness of my skin, followed two weeks later by Fraxel and "clear and brilliant" laser. My skin looks beautiful and achieved the results that I wanted. Dr Lloyd knows her stuff- she is handling my medical issue with more solutions and expertise than any other doctor I have seen to date.
